How do I get rid of the dialog box asking me to share firefox or go to the planitarium,it appears every time I open firefox
Every time I open firefox4 a dialog box asking me to take a tour, etc opens. How can I stop that.
You will get them on IE. I suggest you also contact Google support, as this is also a problem on their end. I too have everything set to Google on both Firefox, Opera, IE, and Chrome and the only one not getting the annoying banners is surprising Google Chrome.

How do I get rid of a dialog box that keeps coming back even though I press Cancel?
I was looking up Olympic stats on Norwegian website, and must have inadvertently clicked a link. The dialog box says: "There is no application set to open the URL nasjoner:2"
It goes on to tell me to search the App Store , choose an application, or cancel. -

How do I get rid of a dialog box stating - Were sorry but the browser you are using doesn't support the community toolbar?
Did you install Community Toolbar and deleted it and the pop up continues, or do you want to use it but on a different browser? Which browser are you using? This article might not be what you want http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20027867-263.html If you want to get the right version you need to go to the Conduit site http://www.conduit.com/ and get the right one, I think.

Ever since I downloaded Firefox 5.0 the other day I get the download dialog every time I start Firefox 5.0.1. I told the download dialog to save Firefox 5.0.1 when I downloaded it. If I now say yes to the dialog it will download and save a new copy of the program like 5.0.1 (1). If I say cancel on the dialog I keep getting the dialog every time I start Firefox 5.0.1.
I have heard that Norton released an update patch for Firefox 5.0 on Tuesday 06-21 when Firefox 5.0 was released. ''(versus taking their normal six to eight weeks)'' Some Norton users have reported that the toolbar may not work if the Norton patch was installed before Firefox 5.0, instead if after Firefox 5.0 was already installed.

Running Fox5 on Windows 7 with Norton Security suite on a Dell PC with an LCD monitor sitting on a wooden desk...ambient temp approx 75 degrees at 9:26AM CDT.
Hi timc,
Thank you for answering my question. After taking the screen shot I started thinking "maybe it's one of the add-ons that I downloaded!!!" So I turned off the "Yahoo! Notifier" add-on, and sure enough "poof-it never appeared again"... Thanks for being the guy to get me out of myself and start thinking backwards...(And I really don't need that add-on anyway, just seemed cool that's all)... Thanks again timc...!!! -
I have nothing to add.
If files already have been downloaded then remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.<br />
You can also delete active-update.xml and possibly updates.xml that stores the update history, if present.

Solved it shortly afterwards thanks as I realised it must have happened when I refreshed Firefox, so went through the process again and found the boxes for tabs already pre-ticked so cancelled them. Would have been a lot easier though had it been left as an option to tick as I assumed it was another safeguard leaving me with no idea what had happened....
Anyway thanks :-) -
I updated to 3.6.15 and every time I open Firefox the Thank You for upgrading window pops up along with my normal homepage. How do I get rid of that?

I use Google. My browser is set with Google.ca as my homepage and Google is my default search engine.
For a while I was getting messages asking me if I wanted to know how to make Yahoo my defaults...I managed to get rid of that crap...
But now I get bars popping up at the top of my screen asking me if I want to switch to Google...either my homepage or my default search engine...toss-up which one will come up when I open my browser.
Even though everything is set for Google I still get these obnoxious pushed "suggestions".
How do I get rid of these?
Right now it's looking like using IE is the only way...You will get them on IE. I suggest you also contact Google support, as this is also a problem on their end. Flashplayer pop up box "Requesting permission to store info on my computer" does not respond and will not go away. How do I get rid of it. It is most annoying as it stays right in the middle of the screen.
Move cursor onto video. Right click. Click Settings, Click the "never ask again" box. Then click Close. That will work.
For some reason, that always worked for me, but in the last two days, it does not work, and it seems to freeze on the
video. See, if it works for you. -
How can I get rid of a green box with a white check mark in it this box is covering some of my photos and on the windows icon for firefox. edit
When I search for solutions, I find several references to the backup feature of Norton 360. There also were references to MozyHome and McAfee.

I can close the little blue 'drag' box every time I open Firefox, but that is a hassle, and I know it should not be necessary. When I try to eject the 'peripheral' icon, it says I cannot because Firefox is in use. I have to wait until I close Firefox to be able to eject it off the desktop.

When you open Firefox and go to the Firefox > About menu, does it say that Firefox is up to date? I've seen at least one other person with this issue, and any more detail would be helpful. -
