IPod all screwed up/Apple Support seem to think there isn't.

My iPod randomly resets, switches songs, pauses, scrollwheel freezes/don't respond etc. Windows always reports a problem with it when I plug it in. It shows errors/freezes every time I try to format or reset it. It's been messing up like this since I got it. And then I sent it into Apple under the 1 year warranty and they seem to think there is nothing wrong with it. I got it back and I can't even sync songs to it, it has gotten so bad. Apple gave me the shaft. Now what do I do?

Give them the detailed stats and explain why you now know your iPod is faulty despite the fact that they've already "examined" it. The hard drive is patently unwell and, provided that it is not a result of damage that you have inflicted on the device, then I would think that you are entitled to expect it to be replaced under the terms of the warranty. You may have better luck in person at an Apple Genius bar where you can argue the case.

    So my i-pod has been acting funky lately, freezing at random times, not charging, etc. It seems to be fine for a while, but now it just stopped playing and shows the frowning ipod face and exclamation mark. I'm sure theres a post about this problem, but I cant find it...can anyone tell me what this means/how to fix it?

  • Apple Support ignores me completely, there is no way I can complain about lack of feed back and I even have paid for a protection plan!

    I have paid for an extended support through the Apple protection plan. Frankly I do not understand what I´ve paid for as there is no support and no plan, except ignorance and waiting time.
    I have had and still have serious problem with my Mac Book Pro, and spent loads of money on phone charges with mainly negative results. All I have "achieved" is wasted time. I just wonder if it is only me who feel totally helpless as the Support People are not really helping. I´ve spent approsmimately 200 USD in phonecharges on their support phone, so far. But that is nothing compared to the hours spent waiting for answer and listening no absolute nonsense. Finally I went to an Apple store who sent the machine in for repair, and one fault was the motherboard. However I could still not connect with my Time Capsule and Aperture seemed to have lost all my photos. This all happende after upgrading to Mountail Lion. Also the cable network isn´t working. I can easily see on the net that I am not the only one with problems. I´ve ended up with solving most of this myself, except the network connection. It is still not working.
    I am actually deeply dissapointed with Apple and I cannot find any way to even forward a complaint. Not that I believe it would help, but at least I´ve tried. I also think it would be fair to to get my money back for a product I´ve paid for which obviously isn´t working, namely the Apple Care Protection Plan.

    Hi, so you suggest I should be grateful for getting what I have paid for? Sorry but that's only getting what I paid for. Add to that, that this has been against the phone support I've used a lot of time and money for! I don't feel anything but hopelessness for the total lack of customer support. An expensive Mac Book Pro shouldn't fail after 2 years in the first place! But failure may of course happen with the best products, and Apple as well. The real fault however is Apple's arrogance and failure to fix it! Instead of getting help and guidance to a solution, I used hours and lost days of work, and was made to pay a lot for total unusable "assistance". I was even adviced to hold back on taking the Mac Book Pro to a store, as I was told the support person a senior, would figure it out. Well Apple definiately squezzed the lemon! Since the Time Capsule/Time Machine system didn't fuction I was also in a stale mate as I needed assurance that My files wasn't lost when delivering the machine for repair. I was adviced that could happen. Quite a deadlock wasn't it! As an expert on Quality Assurance I was also suffering lost revenue in my work for clients. I finally had to buy a Samsung Ultrabook as working machine and backup, a neccesity as Apple obviously cannot be trusted when needed. Bill Gates and Windows has one advantage over Apple, they know things can go wrong and hence have much better support. Apple support is a maze were only the strongest and most persistent get through. I am one as I didn't accept being treated like that. That's the only reason I finally got a repair. However the machine is still not functioning as mentioned. I have a case number, a phone number and mail address to a senior support person, whom I've been trying to contact for more than a week, He has still not responded to my mails or phone calls. I cannot even figure out how to contact Apple to complain about such ignorance. Note by the way that here in Norway I must pay to call support and more often than not there is more than half an hour waiting time. I might spend hundred of dollars in that "game" without even knowing that I will get the support I've paid for and only keep paying even more for wasting my time! This is simply not good enough, it is no less than arrogant and wrong! I frankly think Apple is doing a big mistake with such por treatmen of their customers.

    Hi, we are new to the Apple products having just purchased in the last month an IPHONE4 and an IPAD2 3G.
    We had occasion today to post up a message on a funeral home's website and found we were unable to access to do this because Apple does not support FLASH.
    Is there an app in the works or presently out there that will enable the Apple products to do this?
    (We've updated both devices to the latest applicatioin updates and ICLOUD)

    We have a lifetime of experience in the work world in the Windows environment and since retirement decided to migrate to the "best in class" Apple products.  We DO like the quickness and intuitiveness of Apple's approach to doing things but frankly think we should be able, using these new Apple devices, to access legitimate websites.
    Respectfuly, you are talking about Windows computers environment and comparing them to a phone and a tablet.
    Not a fair comparison at all.
    There are phones and tablets that run Flash, but speaking of hot button topic, read some of those stories.
    I do want to give a +1 vote to melvins suggestion. iSwifter, though not polished to an Apple standard, does work very well on Flash content web sites. I don't play Flash games, but I rarely have any problem with it when visiting Flash intensive sites.

    We have 3 kids with an ipod touch each.  All are on one apple id (mine, so they have to come to me to authorise purchases) and they complain that they get each others messages, apps etc.  What can I do to set this up differently, so they can each manage their own content etc but not make purchases?

    Go onto all iPods, and turn on "Restrictions" and disable installing apps. The apps do auto download, and the only way around the messages problem is to make 3 Apple IDs. When installing apps, it will ask for a "restrictions" password, and you can enter that.

    I have a 4g 20gb u2 ipod. the battery dischargesin about 5 hours whether it is on or off. Also sometimes I have to press the rest button just to turn it on. Also when I restore it, it puts 20mbor so of other on my ipod, but it's always a different amount. is it supposed to do that?

    There are a number of things to check for the battery rundown problem. Are you judging battery state by the meter, or how long the iPod will actually play before shutting down? The meter is not accurate.

When bought an Ipod touch 4th generation, the audio was so good but now its not.  I bought a 5th generation expecting that it would be just as good as the first time I played audio on  my ipod touch 4th generation.

    yesterday I got a new ipod mini to replace my old dysfunctional one. I installed the new one, registered it, put songs on it, and it worked fine. This morning, however, when i plug it into my computer, it says that another ipod user is logged into my computer and my ipod won't show up.

    I am having essentialy the same problem, but my iPod came from a PC and is now on a PC. The person who gave me the iPod didn't give me the wall adapter piece, so I bought a "Griffin" brand that was said to be compatible with this model. When I first plugged it into the wall, the Apple appeared with a bar underneath as though it was loading the new software. When the bar got to the end, the "plug into the wall" icon reappeared, but when I plug it in to the wall now, that icon is the only thing that shows, even after resetting and trying to run diagnostics.
    When I doc the iPod on a charger I have or plug the USB into my computer and "reset" it, a battery with a charge icon appears, but there is no "motion" in the icon so it doesn't appear to be charging. The screen eventually goes back to the apple then to the "plug it into the wall" icon. HELP!!! Is is possible the wall adapters isn't the right one? Should I be charging through a firewire cable instead (which I also don't have...)?
