How do I get the object help text into my document (report)?

I want to display the object help text (the "description" field in the object properties in the universe) in my report, but I can not find any function for that? Anyone who knows? BO version is 5.1.

All information about the classes and objects in a universe are stored in the repository database (universe domain). To get that information in your report you need to create a query on the repository database.
For an overview of all objectnames and descriptions that would be:
SELECT WA_UNV_OBJECT.OBJ_NAME, WA_OBJECT_HELP.OBJ_DATAVALUEFROM (WA_UNV_OBJECT RIGHT OUTER JOIN WA_OBJECT_HELP ON (WA_OBJECT_HELP.OBJECT_ID=WA_UNV_OBJECT.OBJECT_ID AND WA_OBJECT_HELP.UNIVERSE_ID=WA_UNV_OBJECT.UNIVERSE_ID) )
Note: this if from BO6.5 using SQL server 2000 for the repository database.

As Ray described, the FindFile expression function and TS API method will seach all TS search directories and return to you the path of your file, assuming the file is located in the search directories.
If you just want the path of a TS file that you have a reference to then there is a faster, easier method. You can use the Path property of the PropertyObjectFile class. In the attached example I use an AcitiveX Automation adapter step to call Path on the property RunState.SequenceFile. This returns the path to the current executing sequence file. Note that if you have not yet saved the sequence file then the path will be empty. In a subsequence step I strip off the file name leaving the root path of the file.

How do I get the videos in iPhoto into a thumbnail in iMovie

How can I get the videos that are in an iPhoto album to a thumbnail in iMovie when thumbnail does not appear? I have a early 2009 24" iMac and using iphoto 11.

Are you saying the the movie in iPhoto doesn't show a thumbnail or that it doesn't have a thumbnail in iMovie? If the latter then ask in the iMovie forum.
If the former then we need more information:
what exact version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what do you see in the iPhoto window when viewing an Event containing the movie in question?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

I have old video clips in Photoshop Elements Organizer v12 for Mac. I want to divide some of those clips in Organizer. I can do that in Premiere Elements 12 and save them as "Projects" - but how do I get the divided clips back into Organizer?

I assume you have bought the Mac Version, have installed it and registered it?
I also assume you have read the installation instructions on the Korg website?
Usually, external digital Instruments are triggered by Logic via the AU (audio units) protocol. So, during the installation, the Korg Installer should have installed an AU version of the KLCDE onto your Mac. If it is installed in the right place, Logic should have recognized it during the next startup and should have validated it.
If all this is done, you can access it as any other software instrument. Look under the AU instruments submenu.
If not, Korg might have better answers than i have. You should ask them.

If I have several buttons and the user right-clicks on one of them I would like to change the color of that button. With a left click I can use evt.getSource in the actionPerformed() method but I don't see how to do that in mouseClicked().

How can I get the Cover Flow text to be in all caps

I've only had one problem with the Cover Flow application for iTunes. All of my track names, artists, and album names are in caps on my library. When I switch to the Cover Flow view some songs are displayed with all caps, while others have the song and album in caps, but the artist is in lower case.
I've gone through all of my files and all of them have been correctly entered in all caps, yet Cover Flow still does not display them correctly. I've even gone through every album, got info, and made sure everything was in all caps. Still no succcess.
Any suggestions?
How about creating an option button to control Cover Flow's functioning on the next iTunes version? That would be nice.

In other words, I should always make changes to my song text with the Cover Flow view selected.
I would never have the Cover Flow view selected while importing new albums, tracks, and artwork. I switched back to it after I was done personalizing my stuff. Thats when I started to notice they were still in lower case, even though I had changed them.

I only need to know wich user has created a document(purchase order).
For example, if user SALES1 creates a purchase order(100),in wich table/field is stored this information?(that tells me that user SALES1 has created purchase order 100).

If you look in the table of the documents there is a field called "UserSign". This user sign then matches with a column "usersign" in OUSR. In ousr it has the user names and all the other details for all the users.

How do I get the converted ProRes file into my timeline?

Having done a quick test editing AVCHD natively I decided to transcode to ProRes and try that.
So I imported a new AVCHD clip after ticking the "Optimise Media" box and the clip was duly converted and appeared in the Event Folder on my scratch disk.
However, when I select the clip in the Events window of FCP X or in the timeline and select Info in the Inspector it reports that the clip's codec is H.264, Linear PCM.
What's going on?

I have similar issue. I use XDCAM EX and when I tried to optimize. Reveal in finder still shows EXDCAM EX. When I import a clip without optimization the option to transcode is grayed out. So I guess that FCPX will not transcode to ProRes probably because there is no need to.

OIM - Task Assignment Adapter - How to get the object instance key?

Hello experts,
I'm trying to use a task assignment adapter to assign an approval task dynamically. Basically, the user can request a resource like "CustomApp Profiles" and we create an object form to let them choose the profile that he needs. Each profile has an owner, which is populate in a Lookup (Owner is the code and Profile is the decode).
So, in the approval task, I need to get the profile selected by user in the object form and search into the lookup who is the owner of that profile. But I don't know how can I get the object instance key using the parameters that can be mapped to a task assignment adapter.
Looking into the OIM documents, I believe that the easier way is using the request key, because the REQ_KEY is a foreign key in OBI table.
Did anyone knows how can I get the object instance key using the request key? Can I use some API or should I execute a SQL statement directly in OIM database?

To retry a task that is in a rejected state, you use the SCH_KEY which is the task key. In OIM, all rejected tasks are listed in the OTI table. It contains all the important information about a rejected or pending task.
You can use the APIs found in the tcProvisioningOperationsIntf class to retrieve open tasks.
