How do I give a separate task ID to two compute waveform sub vi's running sumiltaneously in one vi?

I'm running two compute waveform sub vi's in one main vi. The idea is to output two signals that I can vary independently to each other but when I hook LabVIEW up to a Oscilloscope, I only get one output and the other is just a flat line. I noticed that I'm unable to modify the subvi's independently ie: I change the duty cycle on one and its changed on both of them. Do I need to assign a separate task ID? If so, how do I do this?

Hello;
In case you are outputing two waveforms to two analog output channels, you don't need to have two task IDs to accomplish that.
In case you want to vary one of the two waveforms and keep the other one stable, you can juct modify the buffer array of data points that will be output. Once you configure a analog output channels for two channels of the same DAQ device, you first setup a buffer of data, and such buffer is formed in a way that first data point goes to channel 0, second data poing goes to channel 1, third data point to channel 0 again, fourth data point to channel 1, and so on. That means you can alter only the data points that correspond to one of the channels, while keeping the other ones fixed. That will make only one analog output channel t
o change.
Hope this helps.

  • How to set up 2 separate iPhoto libraries for two users

My wife and I have a macbook air, she being one user and me the other. We both have iphones and recently upgraded to the 5s. She had not ever openned itunes or iphoto on the computer as she used the it mainly for word processing, email and surfing the web. I, on the other hand, would play around in iphoto and ensure photo streaming was working and have a large itunes music collection.
When I openned up her iphoto, all my photos from my account downloaded into hers. I forget what I did to make this happen but it might have done so automatically.
My question is: how can I set up her own iphoto account when she is logged into her user account on the computer? We don't wish to share iphoto libraries as now is the case.
And, this might not be the correct forum to bring this up, but when I take pictures on my iphone 5s, they stream to her iphoto library as well as mine. But, her pictures taken on her iphone don't stream/backup to either of our computer iphoto libraries even though she has an icloud account and photo streaming turned on on her phone.
I hope this makes sense as there are really 2 questions: setting up a separate iphoto library for each user on one computer, and, how to get photo streaming from her phone to her library
Thanks in advance for any help

First you both have to have your own user accounts on the MBA and separate iCloud accounts.  From there it's relatively simple to create you own libraries and have your respective iPhones link to those library when both devices are logged into the same iCloud account.

If you mean iCloud backups, that has nothing to do with any computer. The backup is stored in iCloud, and it goes from the phone to iCloud backups without a computer being involved. So all you need is two Apple IDs.
But if you mean sync the contacts to iCloud so you can view them on the computer rather than just back them up it gets trickier, as the logged in user on the computer is only associated with 1 iCloud account.
If you want to be able to view the contacts on the computer the easiest way to do it is with 2 user accounts on the computer. The alternative is to associate the computer with 1 iCloud account, and access the other one with a web browser at https://icloud.com.
Finally, another, new, option to consider Family Sharing. Make one Apple ID the master and the 2nd one a Family Share. This allows all content and apps to be shared, and also shares a common calendar and allows all devices to be tracked with a single ID and Find my iPhone.

  • How to set up 2 separate apple accounts on 1 computer

I have an Apple ID now that represents 2 phones and various other devices.  I would like to set up a second account so that I can separate my devices from my wife's.

    Hello James,
Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities.
To set up the second account, you would need to go here: https://appleid.apple.com
Once it has been set up you can go to this link to register the products to the Apple ID. https://supportprofile.apple.com
Registering products to an Apple ID would need to be done separately for each Apple ID.
    Regards,

  • How do I give credit for right answers to two of you who helped?

    Dear Hunt and Steve G,
Both of you have helped me on my two intial posts and I want to make sure you both got credit for right answers. Can I do this?

At present, there are three possible awards for help:
There are two 5pt "Helpful" answers, and one 10pt "Correct" answer.
The latter also marks the question as "Answered," but the OP can do that, without awarding any points to anyone.
Personally, the most important of these functions is the "Answered" as it will indicate to others, who might have the same, or similar problem, that an answer exists in the thread. I always urge posters to return to their threads, with updates, and a report on what worked for them, even if that resolution came from another forum. The forum functions on a couple of levels: one posts with a problem, and hopefully gets resolution. Next, others will come, search and find something similar to their problem, and an possibly read the answer in the existing thread, and never need to post. Third, many, myself included, come to the forums to learn something, so a thread on a problem that I have never experienced, or about material that I have never used, or workflows that I have never experienced, can teach me new things.
As for "rewards," most of us do, what we do, to help others, and that is the reward. A "thank you, that worked," is what motivates us. Any points are lagniappe.

  • How to Transfer Files from Your Ipod to a New Computer when You Don't Have the Old One?

My old computer crashed and I have a new one now, how do I transfer the files from my ipod to my new computer itunes program???

  • How to use carbon copy cloner to back up two computer in one external hard drive

    Hello,
I have only one external hard drive which is already used for backing up my old macbook.  Recently, i bought a macbook air.  Is it possible to use carbon copy cloner to backup my data from macbook air to same external hard drive?  If yes, is there anything I should be caucious?  If not, could you suggest any other software of other method to backup my macbook air?  Thanks!!

Yes, provided you  have the space. You will need to create another partition on the drive to use as the backup volume for the new computer.
To resize the drive do the following:
    1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
After the main menu appears select Disk Utility and click on the Continue button. Select the hard drive's main entry then click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    2. You should see the graphical sizing window showing the existing partitions. A portion may appear as a blue rectangle representing the used space on a partition.
    3. In the lower right corner of the sizing rectangle for each partition is a resizing gadget. Select it with the mouse and move the bottom of the rectangle upwards until you have reduced the existing partition enough to create the desired new volume's size. The space below the resized partition will appear gray. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.  (Note: You can only make a partition smaller in order to create new free space.)
    4. Click on the [+] button below the sizing window to add a new partition in the gray space you freed up. Give the new volume a name, if you wish, then click on the Apply button. Wait until the process has completed.
You should now have a new volume on the drive.
It would be wise to have a backup of your current system as resizing is not necessarily free of risk for data loss.  Your drive must have sufficient contiguous free space for this process to work.

  • How do I move my Ipod Library to a new computer?

So I have a new computer and my husband and I both have Ipod's. The new computer will reconize my ipod but it does not recognize my ipod library it keeps wanting me to switch my library to my husbands. Help!!

"The new computer will reconize my ipod but it does not recognize my ipod library it keeps wanting me to switch my library to my husbands"
I presume here that your husband currently has his music on the new computer and you are now trying to connect your iPod. If your iPod is set to update automatically take care when connecting back to your computer and an empty iTunes. If it is set to automatically update you will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press *No*. Pressing "Yes" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list. If you want to keep your existing songs on your iPod go to Edit>Preferences>iPod>Music tab and change the update setting to "manually manage songs and playlists"
There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library. Have a look at this article and see what you think and go for whichever you feel suits your needs best: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
Another option when using a single library is to set one or both of the iPods to manual update as described above: Managing Your Songs Manually
If you have no music on the computer then there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

My laptop was stolen. How do I sync my old iphone to a new computer without losing my purchases (music & apps)?

One of the reasons to include your iTunes library with your computer's backup along with all other important data that is kept separate from your laptop - not carried in the same case, etc.
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iDevice, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
If you are in the US, you can do this now as well.

How do I keep Microsoft from adding things to my computer. I have automatic updates off (because one of their updates caused my computer to crash), but recently they placed an add-on for Firefox that required much time to remove, and they also added something else that caused Outlook to not work. I don't know what else they might have added that I know nothing about.
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often
== The crash was a few years ago, the other two events were within the last couple of months.

In terms of the Firefox add-ons, see http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/.NET+Framework+Assistant
For MS installing things that are not part of Firefox, I think you're better off asking in a Windows forum.

Have the project, events and media on one drive which is common to both macs.
You can download FCP X to both macs using the same Apple ID that it was purchased with.

  • HT4436 we have 5 devices on one itunes account how do I give them each their own icloud account and still share the itunes account?

we have 5 devices on one itunes account how do I give them each their own icloud account and still share the itunes account?

You need a unique AppleID for each iCloud account.  So grab some free gmail, hotmail, aol, yahoo or whatever email addresses to make five new AppleIDs.  Now, everybody make an iCloud account for themselves, and keep the existing shared AppleID and password just for use in the iTunes and App Stores.  You can also each use your own unique AppleIDs to make iMessage accounts and keep those separate as well.

  • I just purchased a new ipod touch so now I have two. I do not want the second ipod touch to sync the same as the old ipod touch - 2 people with 2 different music preferences. How do I keep them separate.

I just purchased a new ipod touch so now I have two. I do not want the second ipod touch to sync the same as the old ipod touch - 2 people with 2 different music preferences. How do I keep them separate.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.
