How do I have my articles on website print automatically to Adobe pdf?

I am the editor of the website theidchannel.com, and often the users desire to print the articles. How do I make the article-document automatically appear as an Adobe pdf when the user select to print?

You can automate the workflow you described with Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator ES2.
Alternatively, you could create PDF versions of your articles and link them for users as a printer-friendly option.

Not sure what you are referring to. If you have any files MIA, simply re-download and reinstall the app via AAM.

Why is FF keeping track of how many times I visit a site in Tools > Page Info > Security > Privacy & History > "Have I visited this website prior to today?", and how do I disable it?

The feature of tracking the number of visits to each URL in your history may have been added in Firefox 3; it is stored in the places.sqlite database along with the page's URL. It appears to be used as one factor in setting the order of matches on the "AwesomeBar." I don't know if it has any other use.
As for disabling the counting, I don't see any obvious way to do that.
If you want to clear your visit count, you could erase all of your history, but I assume you don't want to do that. Perhaps there is an add-on that will allow you to reset the count to 1 for sites you have visited more than once? (I think I could write a SQL query to do it in the SQLite Manager extension, but I can't experiment with it at the moment.)

How to fix missing entries in the printing preferences of Adobe PDF

Hi all,
we are on Acrobat Pro 8 (8.16) as part of the CS3 Design Standard package.
A colleague of mine is missing some of the entries in the printing preferences of the Adobe PDF printer:
The Adobe PDF Security dropdown is empty and he can't set the Printer to ask him where to put the final pdf files ("Prompt for Adobe PDF filename").
I already tried repairing Acrobat - didn't help.
Has anyone some ideas what to do?

This is getting nasty:
After reinstalling Acrobat (via the add CS3 components function in "add or remove software") it wants to be activated (!?!) and doesn't accept the CS3 key any more.
So I will probably have to reinstall the whole CS3.
Is there any way to make sure that every trace of the old installation gets deleted before I start?

How can I add news articles to website and dynamically update headlines without MySQL?

I update a number of website for athletes with news articles...
I'm doing it manually at the moment so I have to update:
    1. news.php (with date and article title which links to the article)
    2. News Article (with title, date and article text)
    3. includes/latestNews.php (an include latest 3-4 article dates and headline which links to the article - displays on every page via include)
The News Article is a plain and simple PHP file which is stored in a folder 'assets/news/' and the file is named according to date i.e. a news article today would be 130420 (as in 2013 year, 04 month, 20 day) so they sit in chronological order in the 'news' folder. There is a template page file called viewArticle.php which drags in the appropriate news article by link i.e. viewArticle.php?id=130420
At the moment, I have to update news.php, latestNews.php and the individual article individually and manually.
What I would like to do is...
...create, edit and add the News Article file (130420) to the 'news' foler as I am currently doing. But, with PHP, set news.php and latestNews.php to read the files in the 'assets/news/' folder to display the latest 4 article dates and linked headlines (for latestNews.php) and display all the dates and linked headlines (for news.php).
I don't know anything about databases and can't get my head around them so I would rather do it with PHP code. Is this possible?

How do I have text messages read to me automatically?

I have the new IPhone 4S with Siri. I have figured just about everything out except for 1 thing. I was under the impression that you could set it up so that incomming text messages are automatically dictated to you by Siri when they are received without any intervention. First, is this possible? Second, what are the steps to make this work?
For example, lets say my girlfriend sends me a text that says "How are you doing?" Is there a way to set it so that the text is immediately read to me when it is received?

I have Adobe Acrobat X, the newest full version. After installing Firefox 4.0 I cannot anymore print using the Adobe pdf converter. Is there a fix for this?

When using print command from either Firefox or within an internet page open, Firefox/Acrobat are not able to print anything. All such print jobs need to be cancelled manually and Firefox locks and in a few cases I have to restart the computer. I am running Windows 7.

Impossible to do with Reader. If you own Acrobat and use Create PDF from Webpage. The document will have a creation date. If you then sign the pdf on the date of creation, you have proof of when the document was created and proof that the document wasn’t altered since signed.

Although with most of the programs you can just save documents and spread sheets as PDFs, in Power Point, it does not allow you the option to save a slide as a PDF with the notes displayed in the PDF, only the slide is transformed to PDF, the notes do not show on them.
Goal: To have notes and slide saved as a PDF

You make not mention of Acrobat and what version you might have. For Office 2010 to do as you want, you need PDF Maker and will have to have AA X for Office 2010. To get the Adobe PDF printer you could install either AA9 or AAX in Win7. Some folks have been successful with AA8 in Win 7. If you don't have Acrobat, then it is time to order it.

     We have a designed a large crystal report containing around 270 pages with lots of high quality images related to properties available for sale. When we try to export this report to PDF after exporting 20-50 pages (depending on the system resources available) it fails with a out of memory error ( occurs with all PDF printers like PDFCreator, Adobe PDF, etc). This error is due to a limitation of crystal reports to handle a large number of images.
     As a workaround, I tried exporting the pages of a crystal report 1 after another into a temp folder and then merged them together. I could easily do this with PDFCreator. But our client has purchased a ADOBE Acrobat X Pro edition and insists on using the same. By default he has the "Adobe PDF" printer default settings (Adobe PDF->Adobe PDF Settings Tab -> Default Settings combo) set to "Standard" print quality.
     Since I will be printing the crystal report page by page. I provide the user a custom print dialog (c#) to accept the settings he desires. When the client selects the "High Quality Print" job option, I would like to print all 270 pages one after another into a specified folder and then merge them together and provide him a save dialog to move the file to the location he desires. I would then like to revert the "Adobe PDF Printer" back to its old settings.
    Is there any way to achieve this? I have been looking at the ADOBE registry keys using process monitor but somehow it seems that the settings are just getting saved here. Changing the registry keys does not reflect in "Adobe PDF" when I go to the printing preferences.
     Any help will be truly appreciated

@Irosenth : Only specific users have permissions to print these large reports and they will do it on their local machines wherein they each have a full version of Adobe Acrobat. I had seen the silent printing option and understand it. I am more concerned however with the following as seen in my original post

My question here is if the user selects any print settings in the custom dialog where (registry?) & how do I set it so that the Adobe PDF printer detects the option selected. Is there any API provided for the same? After printing all the pages I will have to reverts the settings of the printer.

How to make "Adobe PDF" printer quiet (no banner) when called from MSAccess?

I have an Access Database which creates reports set up to print to the "Adobe PDF" printer (Acrobat Standard 7.0.7). Everything works great except the pop-up progress window appears during printing and takes over windows control briefly, then when printing finishes, it closes and gives back control to the other window. This makes running large batch .pdf creating operations very intrusive.
How do I make it not display the banner/progress pop-up during printing?

Thanks very much for the information, I was not aware of LiveCycle PDF Generator.
Looking (briefly so far) into the available info it states:
"Import, export, and manipulate attachments, annotations, links, and bookmarks in an XML format"
This sounds like my unrelated goal of implementing something that can take an existing .pdf and a ist of phrase-hyperlink pairs and add links to the given hyperlink to every occurrence of the given phrase would be much better implemented using LiveCycle PDF Generator rather than Acrobat.

How to install Adobe PDF in my applications (e.g. illustrator)

How do I create an Adobe PDF file using the Print command in Illustrator (Mac OS).
I've seen the Adobe PDF as one of the option when I select which printer to use in illustrator but don't know how to add it to the printer list.

Go to Page Setup and click on Any Printer.
It should show a drop down list of all printer drivers you have active.
Example for what list should look like (note your set of printers should be different):
Choose desire printer. Set scale and orientation. the cclick okay.
Then in Print menu clicl on list of printer and choose Adobe PDF as the one to make a PDF.
When finished go back to Print menu and check to see if it has defaulted back to your regualr (default printer). If not choose your default printer go go to setting click on settings and save as default. At that point it will always bounce back.

I don't have a PPD Adobe PDF 8 setting, HELP!

I'm on a crunch deadline, and recently switched to a new computer. I have to make a post script file for a newspaper with seperations. However, every time I do, the PDF default to an 8half by 11 inch pdf. The ad is full page newspaper, so obviously, I'm missing alot of ad.
I think I narrowed it down to setting my PPD in the Print Dialog to Adobe PDF 8.0. Unfortunately, it's not there. How can I get it? Or what must I do to make my seperation postscript come out correctly sized?
Please help, I only have a few hours before this is due!

 I can now say with some confidence that the problem you have with not seeing Adobe PDF 8 in the Printer pop up in the Print dialog is not a Leopard problem. Let me explain.
 
 I posed the following question with a Preps Tech support person:
 
 "I  simply want to know if Adobe PDF 8 (as installed by Acrobat Pro
 8.1.2) shows up in the Print pop up button in the InDesign Print
 dialog in *Leopard*? I cannot test that myself, as I do not have
 Leopard yet."
 
 and received the following reply:

 In the same exchange with this support person, I learned that the virtual printer method that I was offering you indeed does NOT work in Leopard, so it would not have worked for you. But the method you were referring to in your original post should work in Leopard. So there is something else malfunctioning in you set up.
 
 Not what you wanted to hear, at least now you can pursue the real problem. I does seem like Adobe is not at fault here.
