How do I install WebSockets functionality on 10.6.7 Server?
I'd like to play around with adding WebSockets functionality to my website. The particular problem I'm trying to solve is communication from a client side Java applet that does not get blocked by firewalls. I can find a number of tutorials on WebSockets (i.e., setting up a simple chat), but not much in the way of how to get a functioning Apache2 http server cooperating with a functioning WebSockets server on Snow Leopard Server.
Before hosing my server, I thought I'd see if there are any particular recommendations or (even better) step-by-step tutorials. My first preference would be a Java solution (as the client side will be Java), but I'm open to other languages.

I would suggest that you give Kaazing's WebSocket platform a try. It's Java-based and comes with Java WebSocket libraries, including JMS over Websocket if that is of interest. There are several tutorials and the free download comes with tutorial like demos.

You can download the DG4ODBC software from either MOS or eDelivery depending which versios you want to install

- login to My Oracle Support
- click on 'Patches and Updates'
- search for patch number 13390677
- you may need to press the '+' button to see the platform list
- scroll down the list to and click on the 'Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)' option.
- on the next screen click on the 'Download' option
- from the list of download files choose -
p13390677_112040_platform_5of7.zip
- this is the Gateway media pack and has everything needed for a standalone gateway install.
- unzip the file and run the installer and choose the gateway you want.

Whichever version you decide I recommend you install into a completely separtae ORACLE_HOME from any existing installs as this makes maintenacne easier.

You can also install the DG4ODBC on the Windows machine (or any other machine if preferred) and access it from the RDBMS on Solaris.

First of all you need to set the MF scan components online. Press the Scan button and then select Remote.
Then on the Mac, open the MF Toolbox software, which will have been installed when you downloaded and installed the ScanGear v1.51 software, and select one of the buttons like Save. From the next window that appears, change the Original Placement menu to ADF or Platen - depending on where you have loaded the paper - and then press the Scan button. This action should scan the document to your Mac. -

I have recently setup a Windows Server 2012 Std. I have not configured any roles yet. The server licence has been installed and activated successfully. How do I get my Windows Server CAL 2012 ( tracking ID is 15 digits) onto the server. I have google

How do I install OS X Lion on mac mini server
I have purchased mac mini (the server version because of quad-core performance), but I don't need any server features. All I've found regarding this question is simply removing the server app, but as I can say all the processes still work — emails about IP address changes are generated and sent, you name it.

If you mean from the Apple Lion USB stick supplied by Apple
that is true, it won't work. The Apple supplied USB stick will
only work on systems with Snow Leopard or earlier, if the
computer is compatible of course.
But the App Store download should. At least it did for me when
I created a minimal "emergency" SD card for use on my Macs
(base OSX install plus Disk Warrior, Tech Tool Pro, etc.). Was from
the download for my MBP. But it may have been able to because
I was installing to the SD card and not the internal.
The key thing though is that the App Store download must be
from your account to a Mac that you own, as the license permits
you to install Lion on any Mac that you own and directly control.
You cannot legally use a copy of an installer made from a download
someone else has done. So, if you don't own a Mac other than
the Mini Server, you are basically stuck. -

Does your server have an out-of-band management console? Those can generally mount virtual media that is simply a file residing on the machine you are using to connect to the console.

I have pdf files in European languages and want to be able to enter non-English characters in the "find" function. How does one install other character sets for use with Acrobat Pro XI?
Have you tried applying the update by going to Help>Updates within Photoshop Lightroom? The update should be using the same licensing? Did you perhaps customize the installation location? Finally which operating system are you using?

My version of Preview 4.2 had stopped functioning. How do I install a later version compatible with Snow Leopard?
Since Preview is part of the system, you can reinstall your OS using your install disks. It will automatically install the correct version. I have not been running Snow Leopard, so I cannot check on the correct version of Preview; however, how did it "stop functioning"? Exactly what happened?

SantoshYou could run XP under a VM such as Parallels, and your RAM demands should be low as XP will, I think, only address up to 2 GB or RAM (not sure about that one - maybe 2-4GB?).
It shouldn't be a problem.

ThanksIt's going to be impossible to install Mavericks unless you have a working Mavericks-USB-installer or an "install OS X Mavericks.dmg" that YOU have downloaded from the App Store in the past.
You should use a Snow Leopard install DVD to install 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on your Mac. From there, you can use your "install OS X Mavericks.dmg" to install Mavericks. If you don't have that, you can download and install Yosemite from the Mac App Store instead.
If you don't have either a Snow Leopard install DVD or a custom made Mavericks-installer-USB, you should call Apple and buy a Snow Leopard install DVD from them. They're still for sale.
The other option is to use another, still functioning, Mac and connect the two using a firewire cable. Then you can use Target Disk Mode to install Mavericks or Yosemite on your Mac http://support.apple.com/nl-nl/ht1661 -
