How Do I Keep Cover Page Blank?

I'm running an old version (4.0.3) of Iphoto. I am trying to make a simple book - but do NOT want a picture or text on the cover. I can't seem to get this done. Any suggestions?

How to add a Cover Page to an existing document

I have a Pages document created with a Word Processing template and with Facing Pages, page 1 beginning with the right page. All of the following Section breaks will begin with the right page as in a book. The space shown to the left of page 1 currently is a blank, grey area. I would like to use this space as a cover page.
If I insert either a page break or section break at the top of page 1, it pushes page 1 down and to the left. That is not what I want. I would simply like to add the "cover" page to the left of page 1 (and continue to begin later sections/chapters at the right.
Is that possible, and if so, how do I do it?

Hello again Peter, thanks for the advice.
What I actually did was insert the cursor at the beginning of page 1, and in the Menu, I did an Insert > Choose... and selected a one-page cover document. With a bit of trial and error, I was able to get the artwork to completely cover the page. However, the cover is now labeled as page 1 and I would prefer it and the following blank page to not be page numbered. I consider this as a temporary work-around so I could export to a pdf file.
Now, what I would like to do further is add a new chapter to the end of the file. In the Insert > Sections menu, I have previously created a “Chapter” Section but after adding it to the end of my document and changing the Header to read Chapter 2, it also changed all of the previous headers on the right facing pages. Not good :-(

Do you mean the part of the report, which contains the report name, selection date, controlling area,
Fiscal year, and other selection data?
If yes, then you could proceed as follows: As the 1SIP-001 (S_ALR_87013611) is a standard report, please copy this report with name in the customer naming range and then delete the title page from the copied report as follows:
1. Call GRR2, in the library 1VK place the cursor on report 1SIP-001 and click on the icon 'Copy'
2. In the 'To report' field enter (for example) ZSIP-001 and press 'Enter'
3. Now double-click on ZSIP-001 to enter the report definition.
4. Under 'Extras' -> 'Report texts' -> 'Title page' call the title page.
5. Choose 'Text' -> 'Delete' and the title page lines are removed.
6. Click on the 'Save' icon to save this.
7. Assign the report to a new report group by choosing 'Environment'
-> 'Assign report group' from the menu and enter ZSIP in the popup,
confirming the next popup that the report group should be created.
Now call txn GR55 and execute report group ZSIP with your selection
criteria and follow the steps to print the report:
- click 'printer icon' - mouseover text 'Print (ctrl+P)'
- click OK with dot in 'current report'
- click OK with dot in 'Print formatted report (page length 59)
- on print parameter screen in menu, blank the 'SAP cover page' field.

How do I keep a Pages 09 password protected file in iCloud?

After uploading a Pages 09 password protected file from my laptop it shows as a page with the Pages 09 icon in the center (no visible text) in iCloud. So far so good. But once I open that doc using my iPhone, a task that as expected requieres entering the password, the protection seems to disapear and the file gets saved without the protection right in iCloud. The icon for the document changes from the Pages icon I described above to the text of the first page, just as a regular file, and if I try to open it back again entering the password is not requiered!

Files stored in iCloud are stored locally as well as on some remote Apple server - just not on the desktop. You cannot keep the file on the desktop but you should be able to locate it in your Mobile Documents folder, make an alias, and put the alias on your desktop.
The Mobile Documents folder is in your Library folder (hold option while selecting the Go menu in the Finder) and your Numbers documents are located in com~apple~Numbers

How do I customize cover page settings in a document?

I have a 20 page document I am working on but I want to know how to customize the settings for the cover page totally different from the rest of the other pages? I want the margins to be different from the other pages, I don't wnat headers or footers, etc. Please help.

The actual margins are fixed for the entire document but you can work inside those with margin insets.
You can make the first page a section on its own or use:
Inspector > Layout > Section > Configuration > Fisrt page is different
Headers and Footers are set for the entire document, but they can be empty on the first page of a section or in selected sections, where you want them to not show.

Mac Pro or MacBook Pro,What OSX, if you have a track pad (MBP) check system preferences track pad zoom&scroll, or zoom options functions (slightly different depending which OSX) if a mouse holding control while using wheel will affect the screen, as well as swiping on a track pad.

How to create multiple cover pages following the text

Hello everyone,
I have a such difficult problem on pages : I would like to create multiple cover pages, and I want these pages to follow the text. I will to explain this a little better.
I have to write a really long report. I need to divide it in some "sections" (I'm not sure that's the same meaning that in the software) and each section would start by a kind of cover page with a fullpage photo and a title in textbox. Let's see it with a capture :
My problem is that I would like this page to follow the text. Because on the previous page, I have a table of contents which is evolving and taking more and pages each time. And the problem is that my "cover page" isnot moving to stay after the table of contents, it's the table which is continuing after it. So I have a first part before the cover page and a second part after the cover page. I would like all the text to stay before.

Use anchored images at the beginning of each section.
You will need to initially make it smaller so you can position the image and the TextBox (make this second so it is higher in the stack) set a page break, then enlarge the image and Textbox to suit.
If they are anchored (Move with Text) they will maintain ther position in the document.
Turn off Text wrap on both your image and the Title. Insert a Page Break after the Title Textbox anchor on the page to move the following text to the next page of the section.

How do I keep a page as my home page when dragging icon to left of URL to house image & confirming that I want it as home page works only for current session, so when Firefox next opened, I end up with some stupid search page which McAfee doesn't like?

A couple of days ago, I connected to the Internet as usual & opened Firefox, only to be greeted by an almost blank screen with a Google-type search box in the middle & this message from McAfee:
"Your default search settings have changed. This may pose a security risk. Would you like to restore them to McAfee Secure Search to provide a safer searching experience?"
instead of my usual home page (BT Yahoo). I naturally clicked on the "Yes" option in the message, but rather than restoring my BT Yahoo home page, all that did was to insert the McAfee logo to the left of the search box in the top right-hand corner of the screen. The first time it happened, I had to search for the BT Yahoo page & then followed the standard procedure for setting it again as my home page. It worked only for that session: each time I shut down Firefox or restarted my computer after that, all I got was the blank "search page" & restoring the previous session was the only way to get back to BY Yahoo. How on earth do I make the home page setting permanent?
As far as I'm aware, I have done nothing to alter my search settings. However, I am anything but computer-literate, so I may have done/pressed something without realising it, but trying to understand what is now happening is far beyond my limited IT skills.

MovieId on the Home page, in the view, there is a link you can press to rearrange the movies alphabetically based on the Movie Name. However when I go to another Page and later return, the Sorting will always go back to being organised by MovieId, is there

How about save the way of sorting as a value in the cookie, When you need to go back the web page then you can read the data from the cookie.

How do I keep multiple pages signed in?

I am a past Pc user. Can someone please help me? Trying to figure out how to keep signed in to multiple sites at the same time. When I minimize a site and then hit safari to open a new one the same site just comes up. This was so easy on my pc. Thanks

As markwmsn says, you just create a new window in Safari. In Mac OS X, things are pretty standard across all applications... if an app can support multiple windows, you create new windows through the File menu or by opening new documents (in a document-oriented app). Further, closing all windows does not usually close the app itself (though there are exceptions to that rule).
Alternately, in many browsers (including Safari), you could create a new tab instead, using command-T (or New Tab in the File menu).

Third Party Page Layouts - Leaving Cover Page Blank

Are there any third party add-in page layouts for Iphoto books. It would be nice to have a little more flexability?
Also can you not have a printed photo on the outside cover. They seam to peal off and wrinkle very quickly?

No, we've only got what's offered in each theme. You can try some of the other online book providers where you upload and create your book on line. I'm sure they have options for clean covers, etc. You can try mypublisher.com, shutterfly.com, sharedink.com or snapfish.

1. No matter what mouse you have, you will get a "bounce" if you bang into the limit. If you scroll gently into the limit and then back off, you will not see the same effect, or at least not the same degree. Check to see if your tracking speeds are similar with the two pointing devices. I think this will have more influence than whether the device is wireless or not.
2. If you don't want anything to change in Mail when you boot up, I think you should just leave it open when you Shut Down the computer. With Lion, your Mail app should come back in the same state as when you Shut Down.

How to get rid of blank white page next to cover page when converting an indesign file into a pdf flip book

Hey Everyone,
I created an catalog using indesign and now I want to convert that into a pdf flip book. I have exported it as a SWF then changing the SWF back into a pdf. It works great however, I keep getting a blank white page next too my cover page, and I really don't want this. I find it very distracting and visually unappealing. Is there any way to get rid of this blank white page? Or any other suggestions on how to create a flip book out of an indesign file.

It sounds as if you're not checking the pagination properties of the chapter after the problem within the book file.
The book file settings always trump the component file's settings.
So this would mean that, if Chapter 3 is set in the book file to start on a Right page, the book enforces this by adding a blank page to Chapter 2.
You should be able to fix this by selecting all the component chapters in the book, right-clicking and setting all the pagination properties to start on Next Available page, but I don't have 7 on this system so I can't give you the exact key strokes.
