How do I make a title disappear in smoke or just vanish

Hello, I've searched for tutorials regarding this but couldn't find anything but how to make writing out of clouds and title appear from smoke. I want to make a title on a black backround disappear in smoke or vanish in smoke or smth like it. Does anybody know any tutorial that explains this? Also the writing shouldn't be from smoke or cloud or anything, just tipical font, but when it disappears it should disperse in smoke like it's flown away. I would really appreciate some help please!!!

There are about a zillion ways to do this. A quick Google Search brings up dozens of tutorials. Like this one, or this one, or . . . If you want to look at video tutorials just click the word videos in the left column.
Some use 3rd party plug-ins, some use stock footage, some use displacement. The process usually involves displacement maps or turbulent displace, some blurring, and some smoke. Smoke can be generated with fractal noise, particle systems, stock footage, or simply filming some smoke against a black background.

Yes, I'm very sorry. I keep forgetting that Encore and PPCS4 are separate programs. Yes, you do indeed create fading titles in PPCS4. I finally figured it out today. All that is necessary is to Put the new title on the timeline. Then place the timeline indicator bar, or whatever that thing is called, at the front of the title box on your timeline. Open up the effects control box, and expand the opacity box. Click the little diamond on the right side, and this will add a keyframe to the beginning of your title. Go to the end of the title box and click the diamond again to add a key frame to that end. Then just grab the keyframe on the right and pull it down. The title will disappear over the length of the time that it is on your screen.

I could be wrong, but isn't this something that one would do in PrPro?
Now, if one wanted a Menu (in Encore) to "fade away," they could create (in PrPro) a Button Transition to do that.

Sounds like you have a stroke on it. Select the frame and set the stroke to none.

Forget the Alpha mask idea. I'm home now and it is a total non starter in this case. But try some of these if you want to learn the technique

In portrait mode, you can make the inbox disappear either by swiping to the left on the open email or by tapping on the Inbox button.

How do you make the title bar display different text than the page title?

I'm looking for a way for the title bar display of my web page to be different than the text in the actual nav bar created by iWeb. For instance, I'd like the nav bar to just say Home for my main page, but in the title bar in the browser say "blah blah blah."
I know there has to be a way to do this. iWeb has actually done it on one page already, but I can't figure out how. I think it picked up the title bar text from the first text box in the page. For instance, the page name in the navigation bar is "blahs for today" but the browser title bar when you open that page says "blah blah," which happens to be the first line of text on the page. The page title in iWeb.app, though, is "blahs for today." But if I look at the source code it lists title as "blah blah."
I'm guessing I might be able to work around by making an invisible text box with the text that I want in the title bar as the very first thing on the page, and hope iWeb makes that the title bar text. I'd rather have a more correct way of doing it.
Is there a way of doing this in the source code without having to change a lot of stuff?

Richard ~ The key is the default Title box that iWeb creates for every new page — it's that which you need to edit, not another text box you've created. And to make the text in that Title box invisible, see here.

How do I make a "Title Menu Button" that is an Arrow?

I am using DVD 08 with iMovie 06.
I set my chapters using iMovie 06. When I shared with iDVD 08 everything looked OK.
I normally do six scenes however this time I wanted eight. In the past when using iDVD 08 (or iDVD 06) there is always a blue arrow in the scene selection menu that when selected would take you back to the main menu.
For some reason I do not have the Blue arrow. I was able to create a new "Title Menu Button" but none of the options I can find is the default blue arrow.
If iDVD defaults to the blue arrow in this location why can't I find it as one of the many choices iDVD gives for a Title Menu Button?

I use the same, iM6 with iDVD 8.
I am not sure I follow you. You mean that you make 6 or 8 chapter markers for this movie?
What theme are you using? If you use a theme that places 6 scenes on a submenu, iDVD will automatically create a second submenu with the remaining 2 scenes. Each submenu has 2 arrows to allow you to go back to the previous menu, or to the next submenu, except the last submenu which has only 1 arrow to go back to the previous menu.
If you want all 8 scenes on the first submenu, you can go to the submenu with the last 2 scenes and select them, then 'Copy' then go back to the first submenu and 'Paste' them. You may have to reposition the scene titles to accomodate the new ones. Be sure to go back once again to the submenu and delete the copied scenes. When you do that, go back to the previous submenu where all 8 scenes are, and you will see that the forward arrow to the last submenu is no longer present, since there are no longer any scenes to be in a separate submenu.
I have made over 100 movies, each with many scenes, but I don't have any submenus that show an arrow to return to the main menu, unless there is only one submenu.
If you want to add an entire submenu....say of extra photos/videos/etc. you can use the + button on the lower left of the iDVD screen to add. A folder will appear on the menu to which you have added the submenu, and when you open the folder, you will see the new submenu, with its return arrow.
You can change the folder icon to just a title using the 'Buttons' tab, but you cannot create navigation arrows yourself.

If you do not need/want to save the information from previous weeks in a single document, your easiest solution is likely to make a two table document following Badunit's suggestion regarding titling the table using the first date entered in the main table.
In the main table, you'd use column A to record the dates worked, columns B and C to record start and end times on those dates, and column D to calculate the number of hours worked in that time period. Formula: =DUR2HOURS(C-B)
A footer row could be used to sum the hours in column D with the formula =SUM(D)
Enhancements to the formulas can be made to keep the cells in D 'empty' until times are entered in columns B and C of that row.
When the table is complete, empty the data and Save the document as a Template.
Each week, open the template, Name and Save the document, then enter the starting date. At the end of the week, print the document, then Save it as that week's time sheet.
Follow the same procedure each week.
If you need/want to save a continuous record of the times you worked over a longer period, make a duplicate of the Main table above (omitting the small table used to title the main table), and use this duplicate, placed on a second sheet, as your Data table.
This method requires re-writing the Main table using formulas that will extract one week's data from the Data table, starting with the date entered in cell A2 (as in Badunit's example).
The formulas to use will depend on the arrangement of data in your Data table:
Is the working time a single continuous period for each day worked, or can it be more than one period, with breaks in between?
If the latter, are the periods recorded on a single row for each date, or on multiple rows, one period to each row?
Is there an unpaid break (of fixed length) within each period? within each period longer than a specified duration?
Using a document of this type would require recording the data for each day on the Data table, then, when the time sheet for the week is to be submitted, go to Sheet 1, and enter the starting date for that week in B2 of Main. When the results have been calculated, Print page 1 only.
If interested in this route, you'll need to provide more detail regarding the layout of your data as recorded. True also, for suggestedrevisions to the formulas given above for the weekly document from a template route.

It sounds like you having css conflicts between the two different style sets, which can be expected when your trying to clone a site UI by just shoving code in the page.
Try this add two regions set to No Template surrounding the region you want to style. In the one before the the region you want to style add <div id="cloneme"> and in the one after put </div>
In the style declaration of the site your trying to clone put #clone in front of all the style declarations. That probably won't fix everything but it should keep the page in total from changing.
Take a second to read through this page http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_syntax.asp 15 min will save you hours in the long run.

So, I've got my copy of Leopard and am anxious to upgrade my trusty PowerBook, however, after reading some of the issues posted here I am also somewhat apprehensive.
I would like to make a clone of my current system, which is running sweetly on 10.4.10 with a lot of other 3rd party apps that I fear may not be compatible with Leopard. This is the main reason I want to clone the system.
I have a brand new 80GB Firewire drive ready for the event, but as I have never done this before I would greatly appreciate any and all advice on this topic please.
What is the best software to use? I've heard of SilverKeeper and there is DeJaVu with Toast8. Are there anymore I should consider?
Will I be able to use the clone as re-installable disc image to return my system to it's previous state? Would that work through the disc utility's 'restore' function or another process?
Would I be better off to install Leopard onto the external F/W drive and run some software tests first?
Reading all these problems has put me into a minor panic. I was so excited to buy Leopard, but now I am fearful of installing it.

Nope. I made a copy via Carbon Copy Cloner. I have it on my Firewire drive but have no way to get it back onto the boot drive. You can't copy over a running OS and I can't boot from the firewire drive for some reason (Kernal Panic). I don't get it. It is like the chicken or the egg. I am stuck. I do not want eopard anymore and can't get my cloned 10.4.10 back to my G5. It appears I need an image file. When I go that route, it allows me to clone the items on a drive, back to the same drive, but says "by clicking ok, you will delete the files on the drive and then create an image file on that drive". Sorry, but that makes NO SENSE.

that doesn't work. i just tried it.Actually, I believe it does work. I think the problem is that every time the text field regains focus the caret is set visible again.
So, what you really need to do is add a FocusListner to the text field and in the gainedFocus() method add the above code.
Don't know if there is an easier way, unless textField.setCaret(null) works.
