How do I make my character do this?

I am attempting to make a simple Flash game and I want it to be like Tiny Wings on iOS. I want it so that my character will go down when I click/tap screen.
I have no idea where to even start but I have all of my graphic elements completed. Now I just need to code. Any help?

There are tons of tutorials for this kind of game:
https://www.google.de/search?q=tiny+wings+as3&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:de:officia l&client=firefox-a&gws_rd=cr&ei=uSRyUoHpCdHb4QT0tYHIBA
I am attempting to make a simple Flash game
Any game that has physics in it and pixel perfect collision detection (like tiny wings) should not be consdered a "simple" game,
If you have no experience in programming be prepared for a rude awakening.
Your best chance is to stick to the code of one of these tutorials and simply exchange your artwork.

    Hi guys I need to know how can I make a image like this one http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/2710/69823211.gif
    I need step by step instructions please. How can I animate it like that? Whats the font? Tell me everything please.

    To do a step by step instruction on here will take someone a very long time, as you havent really said at what level you are at.
    On Youtube there are a lot of animation tutorials for PS. But essentially in this case you are moving that white streak across a few frames at a time.
    The font might be found with the help of http://http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/

    If you didn't make an in-app purchase within the app then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
    You may also want to turn off in-app purchases via Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases 'off'

  • Firefox highlights all links in pink with dotted borders, how do I make it stop doing this?

    Firefox highlights all links on web pages in pink with a dotted border. Sometimes the links are not highlighted when I first visit a new site, but after a few clicks then Firefox highlights all of them everywhere and it often makes the navigation difficult to read with all the pink boxes everywhere. How can I make Firefox stop doing this?

    If the background of links is red then that is probably caused by an extension like SEO or SearchStatus that has the option set to highlight noFollow links.<br />
    You can check the options of such an extension.<br />
    You can click the icon on the Status bar to open the SearchStatus options and un-tick "Highlight NoFollow Links"<br />

  • How do I make a "Character Select" system?

    I'm making a game for school that is a vertical scrolling shooter (like the Raiden series), based off of the anime Galaxy Angel. For anyone who has seen GA would know there's 5 main characters, all of which I have put in my game. My program is an application (so swing answers only please), and made up of 4 classes: Title Page, Character Select, Main Game, and Credits. I intend to make my program load different Player sprites depending on what character is chosen. Can someone tell me how I can make my Main Game class read which character has been chosen from my Character Select class?

    A very quick and easy way of doing this with Swing is using the JRadioButton class. The following suggestion is similar to a technique used in "How to use Radio Buttons".
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/button.html#radiobutton
    Inside CharSel class:
    First, declare a class String variable called "userIcon" or something at the top of your program. This will be the path of the icon for your user.
    private static String userIcon=null;When you're setting up the GUI for your CharSel screen, use an array of JRadioButtons for the character buttons. In the for loop where you initialize each button, group them all, and set up the basics (ie: stylize the button to make it feel more like a game), add something like this:
    buttons.addActionListener(this); //assuming you've implemented ActionListener
    buttons[i].setActionCommand("images/charIcon"+i+".gif");
    The i variable is just an int; the current index of your radio button array in your for loop. An action command is simply a String passed to the ActionEvent of your ActionListener.
    You would then add something like the following so you can retrieve the icon's path from other classes:
    public static void setUserIconPath(String s) { this.userIcon = userIcon; }
    public static String getUserIconPath() { return userIcon; }
    //called when a radio button is pressed
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
      //retrieve the action command
      setUserIconPath(e.getActionCommand());
    }When you are writing your actual game classes, you'll create the user image using the static methods:
    ImageIcon portrait = new ImageIcon(CharSel.getUserIconPath());If you wish to avoid the static methods (which may cause problems depending on how you use them), you can set the constructor of your MainGame class to accept the icon's path (or just the ImageIcon itself).
    Alternately, you could simply call a method passing the path/imageicon [i]after you initialize your MainGame class.
    Other techniques may include constant ints and a switch statement (which checks something like CharSel.selectedIcon() == CharSel.BOB). Of course, a more typesafe way of doing that would be to use enums. If you did use enums, you could even include methods for your enum constants (ie: CharSel.Chars.BOB.getImageIcon() may return Bob's ImageIcon).
    Good luck!

  • How hard to make a website like this one ?

    Hi, I hope I don't stress people with my status, but I'm a
    complete newbie with desire to learn. I just figured out we have
    Dreamweaver at school in the Mac studio, adobe version if I recall
    correctly and I wanted to make a band website with it, but couldn't
    understand where to start.
    So first, since I don't want to hire anybody to do it for me,
    I would like to know how hard it would be to make a website like
    this one :
    http://franzferdinand.co.uk/
    In my logic, the first step would be to create a background
    image with the menu drawn in it then add buttons to them to
    navigate. I would then add the content boxes with scroll bars using
    the draw div function.
    My second question, how do I go about learning this software
    ? Are courses given somewhere ?
    Thanks, Francis.

    If you know nothing of web design and development, it's going
    to be hard.
    Not that you can't do it. It's just going to take you a lot
    of time and
    effort to get up to speed on things.

    That isn't how that site was built nor the best way to to it.
    The site in
    question is fairly basic HTML and then styled with a lot of
    well put
    together CSS.
    > My second question, how do I go about learning this

    Don't learn Dreamweaver. Instead, learn HTML, CSS,
    Javascript, etc. Getting
    a basic understanding of HTML and CSS will then allow you to
    figure out
    Dreamweaver fairly intuitively, plus you'll have a MUCH
    better framework of
    understanding to work from.
    And feel free to ask questions in here!

  • How would you make an effect like this?

    Hi! I'm new to the forums, but hopefully it's ok if I start this new discussion. I'm very new to Photoshop as well (newbie).
    Here is the image: http://sffbookreview.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/life-of-pi-banner.png
    How would you make the image on the right - with the watercolor painting crop effect of the tiger? Also, how would you make the font on the left gradually turn to orange?
    Thanks! Your help is much appreciated.

    Hi there,
    Here's a really quick tutorial on how to add the mask and gradient text over the image of a tiger.
    Masking the Image
    1) Open your image of the tiger. There should be two layers in your layers panel: the image and a white background.
    2) With the tiger layer selected, click on the icon marked below in the layers panel to create a layer mask.
    3) Being sure you have the mask you just created selected, paint with black using the brush tool to mask out the image. In your layers panel, if you look at the mask icon, you will see the areas where you were painting (on the canvas) change to black. Use a variety of brushes to recreate the effect in your example image.
    Creating Text with a Gradient Effect
    1) Use the Type Tool to create your basic text and reposition it on the page with the Move Tool.
    2) In the layers panel, control click on the type layer and select Blending Options.
    3) In the dialog box that opens, check the Gradient Overlay box and click on the "gradient overlay" text to move to the gradient options. Adjust the angle of the gradient, then click on the colored bar to select the colors you want. Click OK on each dialog to close them.
    Final result:
    I hope this helps, and please let me know if you need any more assistance.

    Do you even see the call come in on the phone? Do you see the missed call in your list? Or do you just get a voice mail.

  • How can I make a gradient like this? (Edge between colors is hard, and bends)

    I'm using Illustrator CS5
    Looking to make a gradient similar to the one in the "BubbleBoddy" font here -
    What's the smartest way to go about doing this? I have a basic understanding of gradients, but I have no idea how to get the gradient line to bend like that, or how to get such a "hard edge" between the light and dark pink.
    Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    draw a curve, copy it, colour it, blend 'em (alt + ctrl + B or Object > Blend > Make
    then use your text as a mask.

  • I have a new computer. I can not get Firefox to auto-login to any sites. How can I make it so that this new computer functions like every other one I've seen...e.g., it actually remembers what I ask it to?

    Cookies are enabled. Sites are checked "remember password" and "automatically log me in." I have checked "yes" to "Do you want firefox to remember the password for this site?" Some sites do auto-fill my username or password, but I still have to go through the process of approving, checking, and clicking, every single time. One example is yahoo mail...but it happens everywhere. It's like every time I access Firefox, it doesn't remember anything.

    * Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
    * You must allow that cookie (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions), especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
    * Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

  • How can I make the moon in this shot, more moon like? Pic Included.

    So this is the last shot in a trailer I've directed/edited. It was shot against a green screen. We have wind machines blowing her dress. I also shot leaves falling about 15 feet, then rotated the shot to look like the wind is moving them west along with her dress. I have several different layers of fog doing different things. THEN I have the moon. It's a still image, I added a bulge filter to make it appear more rounded and a layer of fog atmosphere on top but it still doesn't look good enough. This is a creative discussion, any and all ideas will be great! Cheers

    Absolutely! Here is a screen grab from the adjustments below:

  • How did they make the effects in this music video?

    Hi everyone. I've been watching this amazing video thats on Youtube for an electro band called Lifelike. The Song is called So Electric, I believe this isn't even an official video of theirs but some fan put something together which is very very visually striking. The video is here:-
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G22X5X49VhM
    I'm not a beginner with Adobe Premiere Pro, but I don't yet use After Effects. My main educated guesses as to what the editor did some blending of clips with partially translucant opacity, changed numerous colour channels around... they used old VHS footage too. On the thread underneath the video, supposedly he used Imovie to edit it, which is quite basic as far as I'm aware...
    Anyone able to take a good guess?

    I found out that some of the original footage was made using an analogue system called Scanimate, so that answers part of my question. However I still want to know how the editor blended together the different clips and added in aditional effects- anyone?
