How do I make sure that all Firefox sessions are closed so I can download 6.0? Keep getting a dialogue box saying that only 1 can be open at a time. Only 1 IS open, and I need this update to meet a system requirement for an online class.
Not sure what I can add to that. I actually shut down my Mac to make sure no sessions were open before I tried again. Help.

You can click on accept or buy ,which ever option you see on that dialog box.It will prompt you to type in your Adobe Credentials.You can license it by doing the same.
If it still doesn't work ,follow these steps and see how it goes .
Delete all the files from following folders:
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AdobePCD
Then launch Acrobat and try to activate and check.

I have just upgraded to OSX 10.6.8 and now I cannot open or save PDF files from the internet using either Safari or Firefox. I get a dialogue box saying the QuickTime plugin has failed. Can anyone help?

When the update fails what if any error report do you get, specifically? Please do this before trying again:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X. -
When I start firefox, I get a Dialogue bx saying that Firefox had stopped working and Windows is checking the cause, another dialouge box says that A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify if a solution is found,the problem continues, I have Google Chrome working on my Laptop.
It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

i would like to run the most secure version of firefox on my computer, but my computer does not meet the system requirements for the latest version. is there a way i can have the security of firefox 8 and still be able to run it on my old computer. i currently an running firefox 3.6. it is a bit slow, but it is functional.
Currently Firefox 3.6.24 is as secure as Firefox 8.0.1 is. Firefox 3.6.x will continue to get security updates until next spring, although the exact date hasn't yet been determined.

Processor wise you're stuck with what you got, but RAM can be upgraded. WinXP is still supported in all versions of Firefox and will be continued to be supported until Windows drops support for WinXP sometime in 2014. -

When you move to Portugal (very nice, I've just come back from visiting Cascais/Sintra/Sines ) I think you'll just get re-directed to Portuguese iTunes. When I moved to France from the UK I got re-directed to the French store.
To view UK programmes in France I used to subscribe to a VPN server through https://www.my-private-network.co.uk/ (there are others, but very pleased with their service). The catch-up channels (iPlayer, etc) think you're in the UK so you can watch the programmes online. Wouldn't work with iTunes UK store though . -

I normally work using minimal privileges - so the user from which I mostly run Firefox doesn't have sufficient privilege to install a Firefox update. Now and again I log in as a privileged user, start firefox, and grab the latest version. However it happens quite frequently that Firefox goes into a mode where on Firefox startup I get an error window saying that it failed to install the update. When that window is dismissed, Firefox starts up and of course it's the latest version. Nothing I have tried appears to have any effect on this, but always after some period of time - in which I will have logged in and out a few times and probably started and stopped Firefox dozens of times - for no reason that I can discern it stops producing this error message and begins to start up without the error. This lasts a few days, and then it reverts to getting the error message.
In case it's useful to anyone, the error window is labelled

I have of course done what the window tells me; it has no effect (if it had that would mean the OS security was broken) which is a good thing but suggests that the message in the window is a bad thing. I also tried updateing from the Firefox help menu (and was relieved to see that didn't work). Using a priileged user to install the update gives the unprivileged user the latest version, but doesn't ,ake the startup message go away.
I have a suspicion that what is happening is that Firefox running in unprivileged mode finds a security update, downloads it, and fails to install it, instead of recognising that it's running in unprivileged mode and just warning the user than an update is available; once it has done that the update remains downloaded in the unprivileged user's space, and even when the update is installed by the privileged user so that all users now have the updated version Firefox tries to install it despite its being already installed whenever the unprivileged user starts it up. I have followed the steps provided by apple to restore an iPod touch. It is disabled due to having the wrong password entered too many times. When I get part way through the restore process on my computer it pops up a box saying that it can't restore until I enter the passcode into the iPod. I have tried this same process over 5 times now and keep gutting the same results. It is my kids iPod and he has only had it since September. Someone please help me before I throw the thing through the window and my kid strangles me!!! Thanks!
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Every few days I get a small dialogue box saying "Account expired...Renew subscription now to resume service" and there is a Renew Subscription button. There is NOTHING noting what the account is or even the 3 buttons at the top left (Delete, Minimize or Expand). They come up and collect every 3 or 4 days and I have to move them off to the side. The only way to make them disappear altogether is to restart the computer.

we operate a printshop, several terminals (win7+Acrobat 11.0).
Lots of users and files daily. when a user leaves a terminal and quits adobe acrobat,
the next user inherits his print settings (dialogue boxes).
unfavourable - as some use duplex, scaling or several pages on 1 page.
I know that you can edit certain registry entries to change some settings but I didn't find something close to solve our problem

Try to rename or delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js files and a possible user.js file to reset all prefs to the default values.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
