How do I obtain 'Save As PDF' option in MS Access 2003?

Ever since I installed the Adobe CS2 Premium Suite (containing a full copy of Acrobat) on my PC a long time ago, the main menu of Microsoft Access 2003 has contained an item that would let me save an Access report as a PDF. I have since upgraded to Adobe CS4 Design Premium (which includes Acrobat Pro V9).
Recently, that menu item in Access has disappeared for some unknown reason and a reinstall of Acrobat Pro V9 made no difference. Does anyone know how I can reinstate the 'Save As PDF' option in Access 2003?

I have now found a fix for my problem. After learning that the missing facility was called PDFMaker, I was able to get more useful results from a Google search. This led me to the following Adobe Archived Technote, entitled 'PDFMaker is unavailable in a Microsoft Office application'.
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/330/330984.html
This Technote provides a string of 14 possible solutions, none of which worked until I got to Solution 6: 'Add the COM add-in file to the Windows registry'. This was done by running the following command in the Win XP Start/Run box.
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll"
With hindsight, this problem was almost certainly caused by me letting a Microsoft technician have remote access to my PC a few weeks ago in what proved to be a vain attempt to fix a Microsoft Update error relating to Office. This technician spent 40 mins making many changes to the Registry...

  • How do you hide Save as PDF options (title, author, etc.)?

    The Print as PDF dialog has options for author, title, etc. I never use these and for me this area is just wasted space in the dialog window. Is there any way to hide this area so the file browser area is larger?
    Does Lion have these options and are they hideable?

    No for Snow Leopard and I assume no for Lion (I don't use Lion).  Apple hasn't changed standard file (that's the dialog) for years.
    If you want to improve the open and save dialogs to make them a little  easier to live with I suggest you add Default Folder.  It's been around since OS9 days simply because apple's treatment of these dialogs has always left something to be desired.

  • How do I scan & save a PDF in just ONE step?

    How do I scan & save a PDF in just ONE step? I can easily scan a document to an OCR'd PDF, but it does not seem to save it until I manually select "save". Seems there should be a way to set up scans to a particular folder destination, with a naming convention & auto numbering, such as YYYYmmDD-0001, YYYYmmDD-0002, etc. I've looked thru the Create>PDF form scanner>configure presets, and no such item seems to exist. There IS a "add to existing document", but that's not what I want to do. I just want to select "scan", and have it create an OCR'd PDF file in a folder.

    Hi,
    You can achieve this via Action wizard. Auto Numbering is not possible however you can combine Scan and Save As in one action.
    Click Tool>Action Wizard
    Create New Action
    See screenshot and set the options that i have highlighted in blue
    Let me know if that helps.

  • Save as PDF option in MS Word 2007 does not create TOC links

    Hello All,
    i am using Microsoft Office Word 2007 to create How to Guides, Installation Manuals, and other technical documents. I send these documents to customer in PDF format.
    When i use "Save as PDF" option of MS Word 2007 to generate PDF file, it creates the PDF but without TOC links. TOC entries are there but hyperlinks are missing.
    Can anyone please provide me a solution to work around this issue.

    Hi,
    It seems that you are trying to insert a Hyperlink in you document which you want to save as a PDF file from Word 2007,
    but when you open the PDF file there is no such a Hyperlink but only the website address.
    If there is anything misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.
    Try this:
    When you have inputted the website address, enter an “Space” or “Enter” behind it to make it
    turn into a Hyperlink before you save the document into PDF file.
    Sincerely,
    Fangfang

  • Save as pdf option doesn't work

    I'm running OS X 10.3.9 and MS Word 2004. Whenever I try to use the new option in the Print dialog "Save as pdf" the button is always greyed out. I've gone through all of my on-line help options and can't find any help with how to make this work. Do any of you know why my "Save as pdf" option isn't available?
    Thanks!
    Peg

    Peg,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    Make sure that you have a PDF Services folder in both of these locations:
    1. Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/PDF Services
    2. Macintosh HD/Library/PDF Services
    If the PDF Services folder is missing from either of these locations, create a new folder, name it PDF Services, and place it in the missing location.

  • How to prevent the "save a copy" option

    using Acrobat Pro 7.0
    When I set the security to "don't allow editing", and open the pdf  with Acrobat reader, the save button is disabled, as expected.
    But when I place this same pdf on a webpage, using code shown below, when the pdf displays within the browser, a "Save a copy" button allows the file to be saved. How do I prevent my file from being saved when I show it in the webpage ?  I only want the user to view my pdf on a web page - not saving and  printing.
    <a href="test.pdf">test </a>
    Also, what is the best way to present a pdf in a website

    I installed Adobe Reader to read the pdf documents present in the memory of my Nokia Lumia 520 and those arrive by email.
    Particulary important for is to save, the pdf that arrive by email, in the memory of my phone but I didn't understand how it is possible.
    Someone can help me?
    Thank you

    Now it's impossible to save PDF files to memory or SD card because Windows Phone 8 simply doesn't allow this action for 3d party apps.
    That's why all available readers can't do it.

    I routinely research stuff, then save it in PDF (it seems to be a better format that html pages).
    Is there a way I can automate this, rather than the lengthy CMD+Print>PDF>Save As PDF routine?

    You can also script the user interface with an AppleScript. The following AppleScript will save the current Safari (Version 3.1.2) page to the default location (if you want to specify another location, just remove the last keystroke return statement):
    <pre style="
    font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;
    font-size: 10px;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 5px;

    width: 720px; height: 340px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #FFDDFF;
    overflow: auto;"
    title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor">
    -- save the current Safari page as PDF
    tell application "Safari"
    activate
    tell application "System Events"
    keystroke "p" using {command down} -- activate print menu item
    delay 0.5
    tell sheet 1
    repeat 2 times -- tab to the PDF button
    keystroke tab using {shift down}
    delay 0.25
    end repeat
    keystroke space -- press the button

    repeat 2 times -- move to the save item
    keystroke (ASCII character 31) -- down arrow

  • Save as PDF option missing in Safari 6.0?

    I have a PDF open in Safari and want to 'Save PDF to Evernote' as I have been doing in Chrome.
    But on Mountain Lion in Safari 6.0, when I select...
    1. Cmd-P - I get blank page to 'print' (and only one) despite there being two PDF pages
    2. Print icon that shows/hides with others - Only my printer shows up with no PDF dropdown
    3. Evernote clipper - saving as article or full page produces a blank note in Evernote
    I don't know if Safari has always been like this as I have been a Chrome fan for a while, so any help appreciated in helping me save PDFs directly to Evernote in Safari as I tend to do this a lot.
    Thanks
    Sail

    I have no other printer to select, so I removed the printer and reinstalled it and still get the same result.
    My MacBook Air seems fine and is able to see/print all the correct pages.
    Curiously, when I use Expose I can see 'AdobePDFViewerNPAPI (Safari Internet plug-in)' in the background. I have tried to force quit it and open a PDF in Safari again, but to no avail.

  • How to get a save-enabled PDF Signature Form on SharePoint

    Hello all,
    My first time posting. I did numorous searches and watched every training video I can find, but I have been unable to successfully complete this task.
    I have a PDF form, it is an approval sheet that must be maintaind for the entire lifecyle of the project.  At each step in the project diffrent people must sign the form stating that the step is complete.
    The form has been created and has approx 30 signature blocks.  The form needs to be saved on a SharePoint and accesed by diffrent people at each stage, some internal to my company and some external.  Some users have Acrobat but most have Reader (verious levels).
    What we are looking for is the ablity to check-out the pdf, sign, and check back-in.
    We have tryed to save as a standard form, but then the user cannot save/check-in.  So we set it up for distribution and now it can be saved but its sent as a email back to our office assistant. We have tred using the distribute to SharePoint, but it only creates a response file and still send the email to the office assistant.  No emails are needed, just a form with the current signatures in it.
    I tryed just loading the form to the SharePoint but had the same issues (standard = no save capblity) (distributed = email).
    Is this possable and if so can someone please point me in the right direction.
    Any and all help is appreciated.

    SharePoint Integration was introduced in Acrobat X. So the signers will have to be on Acrobat X (latest patch 10.1.4) and above, to be able to check out the form from SharePoint and sign it. Just saving the form to SharePoint server and checking out from there should solve your purpose with Acrobat/Reader 10.1.4.You dont need to even distribute it.

  • Help! How to do a 'Save to Print' option

    Okay, so I admit I know just enough ColdFusion to be
    dangerous but not efficient.
    I am developing an Obituary database for a client including
    Last Name, First Name, Date of Death, Source, Source Date, etc.
    Each record has a unique ID as primary key.
    The end user can search for records that meet various search
    criteria. The client would like the end user to be able to save
    various records to a "print record" that would store them until
    they are ready to print all the records. (Client is a library so
    they want to save printing paper).
    I've tried to tackle this problem in multiple ways but
    without much success. I think I may be limited by my knowledge of
    client and session variables and/or structs and arrays.
    Because of my lack of knowledge of structs and arrays, I set
    up a table in my database called print list and simply stored the
    ID of the record when the end user added it to the print list. The
    problem, however, is that if mutiple users are using the database
    at one time, the print list will not be exclusive to that
    particular user.
    I need to know the most efficient way to allow the end user
    to add to and delete from a list of print records and of course
    eventually print the record and empty the list, but do so in a way
    that multiple users on separate workstations could potentially do
    so simulaneously without interfere with each other.
    Any ideas would be much appreciated.

    This is exactly why session variables were invented...for
    this kind of situation, and thus, you should scrap the table in
    your database and use session variables. e.g:
    Try this code out in a test page and it should give you some
    idea how to accomplish this:
    <cflock scope="session" type="exclusive" timeout="30">
    <cfset session.printList = arrayNew(1) />
    </cflock>
    <cfset arrayAppend(session.printList, "someID") />
    <cfset arrayAppend(session.printList, "someOtherID") />
    <cfset arrayAppend(session.printList, "yetAnotherID")
    />
    <cfset arrayAppend(session.printList,
    "thisCouldBeAnotherID") />
    <cfdump var="#session.printList#" />
    <cflock scope="session" type="readonly" timeout="30">
    <cfoutput>
    <ul>
    <cfloop index="i" from="1"
    to="#arrayLen(session.printList)#">
    <li>This is array Item
    <strong>#i#</strong> and its value is
    <strong>#session.printList
    #</strong></li>
    </cfloop>
    </ul>
    </cfoutput>
    </cflock>
    It basically create a variable in the session scope which is
    unique to the user and then in this variable we create an array. A
    simple array is NOT complicated, don't be worried about this. All
    an array is, is literally a list. We make lists all the time in
    daily life and this is the programming equivelant. It gives us an
    ordered way to store and play with items.
    The example shows you the creation of the session variable
    with the array...I also show populating the array using
    arrayAppend...try adding some of your own and refreshing the page.
    You'll then see in the CFDUMP what this variable holds.
    Finally, I play with the array with a simple CFLOOP...just
    loop out the list to the screen.
    Good luck,
    Mikey.

  • How do I export/save a PDF using subset fonts?

    Products used to export from include InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Word. THX!

    Look for the settings in each of those products, since each one has an entirely different way of making files. If it doesn't offer the option, either it can't do it, or it always does it. More recent, sophisticated software is most likely to always do it.
