How do I open a photograph in a photo editing software (photshop Elements) after updating my OS to Photos ?

Thank you Terence. I did try that and found it do-able, however, it's too time consuming. The easier fix was to remove 'Photos' from the task bar, go to finder and repin iPhoto and use it. I am rather amazed that Apple decided to configure this program, in such a way. No plugins, no right click to edit in another program?? I guess I fail to see the big picture or big PHOTOS ?

I would try resetting the photoshop elements 6 preferences and see if that makes a difference.
reset preferences
Press and hold the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys down just after starting the launch of the photoshop elements 6 editor
Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop elements settings file

Never heard of that being caused by installing iTunes. Try asking on a Windows forum. This isn't a problem with iTunes or any other Apple product. If you believe it is, uninstall iTunes. If the problem persists, you'll have to seek advice on a Windows forum or contact Microsoft for support.

Can't install Photoshop Elements after downloading

I just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements and downloaded it to my new laptop (MacBook Air OS X, 10.7.2). It has apparently downloaded completely but when I click the Install button, I get the message "The following disk images couldn't be opened, invalid checksum". I went back to the software library and downloaded it again, as suggested, and it still didn't work. Please help!

No, I haven't had any problems with other disc images. I checked to see that Photoshop had downloaded completely and it had (.dmg). I don't have an inti-virus program to disable, I restarted the computer and clicked on the installation icon again, and each time that I did that, the same message appeared. If you want to use documents created by the iOS 7 version of Pages, with Pages on your Mac, then you must upgrade your Mac to OS X Mavericks and update Pages to the newest version that only runs on Mavericks.
The only alternative would be if Pages for iOS 7 allows you to export the document for Pages for Lion.

After downloading the newer version of Firefox, I now cannot open the NYTimes crossword puzzle with Across lite (I could do it before). Help!

Yestereday I downloaded the newer version of Firefox. I also as recommended did the same for Adobe Flash. When I went to NYTimes site to print a crossword puzzle (as I do everyday) using AcrossLite, I got this error message: /Users/mary/Downloads/Jun0911-1.puz could not be opened, because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to disk first and then opening the file.
I tried updating AcrossLite to see if that made a difference. I have a Mac OS X version 10.6.7

Mozilla are aware of the issue in Firefox 3.6.14 and are working on a fix, no timescale but they are planning on a quick release.

First you'll have become a member over at Elements Village before you can download the action.
After you down the action:
1. unzip the AA-LayerGroupTools.zip
2. in the pse 12 editor select the Expert mode
3. Go to Window>Actions
4. Use the Load Actions from the fly-out menu
5. Select both actions (mac) or select one at a time (windows)
6. in the actions panel expand the little yellow folder with the name of the action set
7. click on the name of the action and press the Play button

I have Photoshop Elements 12 and the new Canon 7D mark II. My RAW files will not open.

I have already downloaded the plugin 8.7. I ran the exe file, an it still doesn't work. Am I am going to have to buy Photoshop elements 13 to get my RAW files to open? If that's the answer, I'll do that, but I just want to know for sure before I buy it.

Camera raw 8.7.1 is not supported by Photoshop Elements 12.
You need to upgrade to Photoshop Elements 13 or you could use the Adobe DNG converter.
The DNG converter is a standalone application which can take the CR2 files and convert them toDNG files. The DNG files can then be processed by Photoshop Elements 12. This does add an extra step to your workflow though.

Trouble opening photoshop elements after download.

I am having trouble opening photoshop elements. When I get done downloading it, it opens up as a text document in textedit.

Applications --> Utilities --> Disk Utility
Repair your stuff and/ or fix the archive. And also refer to the topic on teh front page about issues on OSX 10.7.
