How do I pass output from cmnd line code as a parameter into a shell script

Hi,
We're using GNU/Linux version 2.6.18.194.26.1.0.1.el15 X86_64.
What's the bet way to pass the result of the following Linux cmd line code into a program as a parameter
I have the following Linux cmd line code which returns 1 row of data,
[fhs_clientdata@srvproddb3 ftpget]$ ./fhs_ftpget_tcpxps1_test_login.sh|grep bill| awk '{print $9}'| tail -1
bill_file_txc_fseulyh1_20110101_180610.pgp
Now I've tried a bunch of different ways to take this output and use it as an input parameter to another program.
I've tried using pipe but that doesn't seem to work.
Ideally I wanted something like
  ./fhs_ftpget_tcpxps1_test_login.sh|grep bill| awk '{print $9}'| tail -1|./loader
where ./loader is the file that accepts the parameter.
I've tried storing it in another file and loading form that file. That doesn't work.
What can I do?

bill_file_txc_fseulyh1_20110101_180610.pgpFirstly, this can be simplified:
$ ./fhs_ftpget_tcpxps1_test_login.sh| awk '/bill/{result = $9} END {print result}'
bill_file_txc_fseulyh1_20110101_180610.pgpand if you only want the very first bill then:
$ ./fhs_ftpget_tcpxps1_test_login.sh| awk '/bill/{print $9; exit}'
bill_file_txc_fseulyh1_20110101_180610.pgpis about a succinct as you can easily get.
So, how do you want to supply the parameter to the other program? Maybe as a command-line argument? Like this:
$ ./loader $(./fhs_ftpget_tcpxps1_test_login.sh| awk '/bill/{print $9; exit}')The commands in the *$(..)* tokens will be evaluated first, then the resulting standard output will be used as argv[1] or +$1+ to "loader".
