How do I search a specific forum with GCS?

Hi All
I have built a Google Custom search for SAP workflow related information. I am currently using the SDN home page as one of my sites to search but I want this restricted to just the Workflow forum. I also want to search for All threads not just for the default 90 days.
Any clues or pointers on what is the best way to achieve this? I had a look at this thread Google beats SDN: 1 to 0 which refers to being "logged in", can some one clarify it further?

Not sure about the logged in part, but within the SDN Workflow search you would be looking for these parameters:
&objID=f146
&dateRange=all
You can also toggle the output sort order using
&rankBy=10001 <-- Relevance
&rankBy=9 <-- Date
etc.
E.g.=> https://forums.sdn.sap.com/search.jspa?threadID=&q=ravi&objID=f146&dateRange=all&numResults=15&rankBy=9

Why can I no longer search a specific forum?

It doesn't seem that long ago that one could drill down in the technical discussion forums and then search a specific forum. Now, all I can see is that, no matter what forum I navigate to, I can only enter search terms for the entire "community". 99.9% of the time I really don't give a s__t about iPads and iPods, yet answers regarding them are always in the top results. Put another way, how can I specifically search Using Mac OS 10.7 Lion for answers?

Once you get the search screen up you restrict the forum to search and/or the person:
Unfortunately to get this window you have to do the first search from the search communities box. What I do if I know I will be restricting to one community is do an empty search which brings up the above window, then I enter the search term, the community and the person then search.]
It would be nice of you could just get these options right from the get-go but at least there is a way.

I want to how to do searching for this forum. Let us say i am only interested in forum posting where <b>SAPscirpt and email will appear.</b>
Should i do "sapscript" and "email"? i tried, but it is not working. I am getting all link which is having either of the word.

When i searched for your requirements i got only the first link containing both the terms.Probably that is the only link available.
The various combinations i tried was :
"SAP script" & "Email"
"SAP" & "script" & "Email"

How do I search for a song with the name I typed on my iPhone?

I run into this a lot and it is extremely frustrating. I want to find a song like "Menuetti", but the search results end up with hundreds of variations of "Menuetto". Even though I know Menuetti is there somewhere, I can't find the song I am looking for because there is so much garbage returned. Is there any way to get the iTunes store to return the few songs with the name I asked for rather than the hundreds with the name I did not?

Go to http://appleid.apple.com and create a new ID - you will need a different non-Apple email address to do this.
Sign in with it in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars and enable 'Mail' in the checklist there. You should be asked to create a new @icloud.com address.
This account will then appear alongside your present one in Mail. Your lawyer can access it in the usual way - if he doesn't have a Mac he can set the account up manually using the server settings here:

In Lr 3.6 how can I search for filenames ending with a # character ?

The text search seems to treat the # character in some mysterious way so as to not select the files that have it in their name. I cannot find any explanation for this in the documentation. Is there some other character(s) that I have to put beside the # to make it register as a normal character ?
My specific problem is that I need to locate a bunch of files in my catalog that have names ending with a # character. I want to rename those files in a way that removes the trailing # but not other # characters that separate key parts of the file names. If I can't do that then I want to select that group of files and produce .xmp files for them (I don't normally use .xmp files) so that I can rename the files outside Lr and import them again complete with all previous tweaks and metadata.
I dare say that I would not choose to name files this way if I started again but I've got far too many to change now.
There are also too many for me to want to rename them individually in the Metadata panel if I can avoid it.
I'm using Lr 3.6 on Mac OSX 10.6.8

You guys beat me to the answer, which I discovered more by accident than good management.
Firstly, I had used the # characters because they looked good in list views such as in Windows Explorer or the Mac Finder. That was from before I got into using Lr and I was trying and using several different programs to manage my photos. Then I found that trailing # characters prevented Lr from recognizing the number at the "end" of the file name and so I wanted to delete them.
Secondly, I got into the Lr rename facility initially to replace what I did with Downloader Pro before switching from Windows to Mac and subsequently found that there is no way to delete a trailing character, but it helped establish in my mind that to Lr the "filename" was just the first part of the name before the full stop and the extension (e.g. .cr2 or .nef or .jpg). Try it - there is a "filename" token for setting up a naming structure that ignores the extension and its full stop.
This was further reinforced in Library Grid View where the filename and the extension are separated and the extension is not displayed.
So having used F2 (rename) before I got around to playing with the text search I was set up for failure. Looking for {filename ends with #} or {filename ends with #.} failed because it found nothing as none of my files had a # or #. after the filename extension, and looking for {filename contains #} also failed because it found all of my files instead of just those with the trailing #. I wrongly thought that Lr had trouble seeing a # in the text search.
Now I have been able to find and select all files with a trailing # in the base part of the filename by looking for {filename contains #.} and generate current .xmp files for them. Then I went outside Lr and used a utility file renamer to get rid of the offending # for the image files and the .xmp files in bulk. Then I re-synchronized the folder(s) in Lr to import those renamed files back into Lr along with all of the metadata, and get rid of the old files from the catalog. Had those files been a part of a collection or stack then I suspect that membership of the collection or stack would have been lost but it kept the keywords, ratings, labels, and image tweaks. Then I got rid of the .xmp files again because I prefer to work without them (less clutter and less chance of other software separating them from the image files).
So much easier than doing it the hard way

How do I sync only specific playlists with iCloud?

When I used to sync my iPhone & iPods to my iMac, I could easily select specific playlists to sync. However, since I "upgraded" to the iCloud music service, I don't see any way to exclude playlists from the sync. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks Michael. I switched from manual sync, and selected sync only checked songs, while at the same time unchecking certain playlists in iTunes. I don't know if that's the best way or not, but it worked for me.
Your tip on how to check and uncheck songs in large groups was really helpful, because I have multiple ipods to sync, and I want these playlists on some of them, so that makes it pretty easy to update checked and unchecked songs as needed. Thanks.

How can you share only specific folders with windows

I took the following steps to share my macbookpro files with my desktop windows XP sp3. I am using a router to connect these two computers.
1)system preferences > sharing > file sharing > options > CHECK BOX "share files and folders using SMB (Windows)" >check box 'on' my one of the 2 accounts on macbookpro> hit ''Done'' > GREEN red dot next to "Windows Sharing: on"
2) I then added 3 FOLDERS to the "shared folders:" list on 'system preferences > sharing > file sharing'
3) system preferences > network > Location >"automatic" in the drop down menu > hit edit location and create a new location with the default name "Automatic Copy" Go to Advanced> WINS > change work group to "MSHOME" (this is the name of work group on my desktop windows pc)
4) system preferences > accounts > other accounts> guest accounts: check the blue box " Allow guests to connect to shared folders"
5) go to my network places on xp. > click add a network place>Next>choose another network location>Next>Browse>entire network>Microsoft windows nework>Mshome>Macbookpro>clicked on the folder ”my account from my step #1 "
Now ALL files on this account on my macbook are shared with my desktop.
THIS IS INTERESTING AS IN STEP 1, I Had given permission to share ONLY 3 FOLDERS and I do not want to share every single macbook folder from my account with this desktop.

How do I search for a folder with Spotlight, not a file? Spotlight is a great tool for finding a file, but often I just want to locat a folder.
When I find a file, how to I see the path to this file?
These are probably obvious question for longtime Mac users, but I come from the Windows world.

Activate the Finder's window. Put the folder name in the search field in the Finder's toolbar. Enter COMMAND-F which should change the Finder's window and give a toolbar above the column headers:

Where is the 'Search Acrobat Windows Forum' button?

I've largely dropped out of this forum since it changed format (no particular reason, I can see the improvements, but it just seemed to take a bit more time to review and do things), so maybe I'm being dense with my subject line? The first thing I usually want to do when I enter a forum is search for a topic that may answer my question already, but all I see are options to search Adobe globally (no thanks) or all forums (no, I'm in the Acrobat forum because I have an Acrobat question). Once I've returned a list that uselessly includes all forums I get a new Search bar and a dropdown list of Adobe applications, so then I can narrow it down, but I've already used my daily allocation of mouse clicks and am losing interest. Am I missing something?

Search For Specific File Type (eg .txt)

I know how how to find files in a folder using Java but how do you search for specific file types. I am looking only include files with the extension .txt in my search.

Cheers. I already looked at that. Got a program that parses a XML and had a play about with it. Can print the contents of tags in my XML. Its just that im trying to parse my XML and have the contents of the starts_with tag to appear in startsWith(or a variable to which this has been assigned) and the contents of the extension tag to appear in endsWith. Totally clueless on how to go about it.

Hello Friends I have designed 4 templates 1 FOR BMW - Auto, 1 for bmw - HR
etc.
Question # 1 : I now want to make the portal display 4 tabs Auto, HR, FMA, FECS
by making a copy of 0analysis_pattern
So if user execute the report selecting HR Tab it execute the report with that template.
Please help me how can i set up this do I need a master template that links all 4 or I can do this by some portal setting we are on BI 7.0 2004S SP14

1. Create one more template in WAD by copiing 0ANALYSIS_PATTREN. we have an TABs Web Item. You need to use this web Item in your WAD Template. You need to do this using Commands. When ever you click on any Tab, it should call specific Bex Query (Not Web Template you Created).
1. Create one temple which copy of 0ANALYSIS _PATTREN.
2. drag TABS web Item .
3. define the Sequence of reports in TABs Web Item Properties.
4. Set the Properties of the ANALYSIS Web Item upon execution of every Tab. you need to set these parameters using Commnds.
2. Create a brand new template by coping 0ANALYSIS_PATTREN. make necessary changes to new template use this template for where you want. this template will be different from earlier 4 Tabs one.
