How do I set jpeg as my default export format?

At my old job, when I exported sketches, it would automatically go to jpeg as jpeg was on top of the list. Now, I have to scroll through a lot of different formats looking for the jpeg format and of course, this takes up valuable time.
I make tech sheets in Illy at my job and need to export just about everything I do in jpeg format, for the benefit of others. I tried looking through the menus, but haven't found the answer yet.

I don't know, but to speed up the process you can
- assign a Keyboard shortcut to File->Export...(Ctrl+E for example, you'll have to give up Scale shortcut if you don't use it)
that brings up the export dialog
- type you file name
- instead of scrolling, TAB to highlight the saveas type field
- hit "J", it will get JPEG
- hit "Enter"
hope it helps
p.s. you could also set up an action....

  • How to set default export format in CrystalReports Viewer

When Viewing Crystal Reports in InfoView, the top left button can choose export file format, how to set it default to Excel?

    Hi Jennie Xiang,
You can set the default export format in Crystal designer before publishing in infoview.
Open the report in Crystal designer and go to file>export>export options--> select the export option to xls and check the options that you want and click on OK.
Now try exporting the report by clicking on export button then you can see the first option as xls with all format options that you have selected before by default.
By saving this report at server (infoview) you can get the same options while exporting from viewer.

  • HT5569 How do I set iphone back to default or factory setting?

How do I set iphone back to default or factory setting?

There's some confusion here. Do you mean the code to visit settings/general/restrictions, or the Apple ID and password to deactivate Activation Lock? Here's how to test.
First, go to settings/General/Restrictions. Do you need to enter a 4 digit code? If you do, then connect the phone to your computer and restore the phone from Recovery Mode as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.
If no code is required to get into Restrictions what you need is the Apple ID and passcode that was used to set Find my iPhone. To verify that this is what is needed go to Settings/iCloud and turn off Find my iPhone. You will be prompted for your Apple ID and passcode. If you don't have them your phone is permanently disabled. You can contact Apple Account Security to prove you are the owner of the Apple ID and get the password reset. Every Printer driver allow you to save a set of settings.
    For instance,
    I defined
    A4 black & white
    A4 colors
listings black & white (which prints two pages on an A4 sheet)
listing colors (which prints two pages on an A4 sheet)
Do the same with your settings.
Use the item Enregistrer or the item Enregistrer sous to save your settings.

  • HT2506 how do you set Preview as the default for opening pdf in browser?

How do I set the Preview application to be the default for viewing PDF's in while in Safari?  Previously, while in Safari and clicking on links to PDF's, they would display with buttons on the bottom that made it simple to view and download the PDF.  Since updating Adobe Reader it seems Reader is now the default application for viewing PDF's accessed from the internet.  I haven't been able to figure out how to revert back to Preview.....

I did this and now Safari won't open the form at all.
I put the files back and it opens in Adobe.
When I save the files to desktop they open in Preview. But I am trying to read pdf's(? forms) while in Safari.
Adobe does not work smoothly in Safari and scrolling to read is a nightmare.
    OS X 10.8.5
This problem came up within the last few months.
Before everything opened in Preview perfectly.

  • How do I set Pages as the default to open docs?

    Hello community of helpful people:
I am just starting out with a brand new MacBook and Pages and have thousands of documents in Word that I will be working with (eventually). When I open them (with double click) they open with the default program "TextEdit." The only way I can figure out how to open them is by right-clicking and selecting "Open with Pages." This is cumbersome. I know there must be a simple way to set the Pages as the default instead of TextEdit. Also, when I have saved a document (with a copy saved into Word), when I open the Pages document it, of course, opens in Pages. But if I open the word document that I just saved out of Pages, it opens in TextEdit.
Can someone share the secret with me for setting Pages as my default word processor?
Also, is there any advantage to opening in TextEdit? Why is this the default setting? These are less important questions, but I'm still interested.
    Thanks!

Can someone share the secret with me for setting Pages as my default word processor?
Right-click one, choose Get Info, select Pages under Open With, click on Change All, and confirm this action.
Why is this the default setting?
TextEdit is present on a Mac OS X system unless manually deleted. Pages isn't bundled with the OS.

  • How do I set firefox as my default web broswer again?

Okay so I set up this layout thing for Facebook. When it was done installing and I quit. Later I checked in and Firebox search box didn't come up. Some thing Called "Internet Search" was there. I reinstalled a new version of Firefox and it said on to set up as my default broswer and I clicked it and it didn't work. So How can I get firebox back?

I did that but It didn't work. When I first open internet it doesn't bring up the firefox box that you can search stuff on. It pulls up some Internet Search thing. How can I change it back?

  • How do I set firefox as the default browser in Windows Server 2012 Group Policy Editor?

Hello, I am unable to set firefox as the default browser despite multiple different attempts to do so using group policy.
    I have:
    - Set a registry command (targeted at 32/64 via a WMI query) to reset the opening command as shown below:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\http\shell\open\command
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -osint -url "%1"
    - Set a powershell logon script to run (that does run):
    firefox.exe -silent -setDefaultBrowser
Despite setting the above it seems the client computers browsers are not affected by the settings above. When the script runs or if I run the command above a UAC window pops up and requests that I accept the command (for the setDefaultBrowser) but even if I click yes as an administrator it does nothing.
Since GPO in 2012 has changed perhaps there is something that I am missing? Do I need to somehow disable Windows Internet Explorer from achieving default browser status?
Please do not reply if you will suggest that I use Internet Explorer Maintenance (since this function in GPO has been disabled since IE10)
My DC is Server 2012, my client computers are Win7 32/64.

The above reply does not take into account that I am trying to use GROUP POLICY EDITOR to make it the default browser.

  • How to change default Export Format Type in Crystal Report Viewer

We are coding in VB.NET 2005 using the CR2008 SP1 .NET objects.
The Crystal Report Viewer, when displayed, defaults the export type as .rpt (Crystal Reports).
We distribute our .NET application to our customers.  99% of the time, this .rpt format is useless to our customers as they do not have crystal reports developer.  They usually export to a .pdf or .xls format.  Is there a way to default this export option to something other than .rpt?
    Thank you.

Yes, that's as much as I figured.
With the Crystal for .NET methods, the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine's reportdocument object has an ExportToDisk method.  We wanted to use this (as we used something similar with the RDC) to prompt the user to export.  However, the reportdocument's exporttodisk method does not have an argument that allows for Prompting the user (true/false) like the RDC's export did.  You have to actually know ahead of time the type of export the user wants as well as the filename.  Well, we do not, and therefore, want the user to be able to select the type of export they want as well as enter their own filename.  We want the Crystal methods to prompt for this.  Since we are unable to, we've had to resort to declaring a reportviewer object and setting the viewer's reportsource = to the reportdocument.  We then use the ExportReport() method which defaults to .rpt (which none of our end users have Crystal Developer).  This is why we want to know if there is a way to reset the default export method to something more common (such as .pdf or .xls).  Is there a way to change the reportdocument's file type in order to default the export type?  Just trying to come up with some sort of workaround...
    Thanks

  • How do I set a dpi for an exported image?

I have an illustrator file that needs to be set up for print. The publication requested an image that is x" by x", 300dpi to satisfy a 150 line screen. I generally work exclusively for the web, so this is all somewhat new to me.
Because illustrator is a vector program I obviously can't set dpi on an *.ai file. So this lead me to looking for a dpi option when saving or exporting a raster file. I have had no luck with this. So I have come here hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
So how do I set a specific dpi for a raster image created in illustrator?
Would I just multiply the inch dimensions by 300 and use that as a pixel dimension?

Honestly, I'm not sure I understand what point you're trying to make now. It doesn't seem relevant to the original question about exporting an image from Illustrator.
It's not, I added a second question here:
Also, how does illustrator determine the pixel value of an inch if I can't set a ppi? For instance, if I set up a 1in wide file it will be 72px wide.
Well, the scale-ability of a vector graphic doesn't put it in a permanent state of ongoing change. If it's just sitting there and it measures 1 inch wide, then it's one inch wide. If you scale it to 2 inches wide, then it's 2 inches wide. If Illustrator's Info panel says it's 2 inches wide and I print it at 100%, it will be 2 inches wide on paper without fail. It couldn't make more sense.
Exactly. So if Illustrator is setting the resulting image to 2in and a vector element set to a width of 1px is 1/72" then how can this:
"Pixel value of an inch..." doesn't apply to the artboard.
    be true?
I can't reproduce that here. What document profile are you using? I get accurate sizing of placed images whether I use Print or Web. I didn't try the others.
I am using the print profile with width and height both at 1in. Nothing else is altered.

  • How do I set to 300 DPI when exporting?

I have a real problem here. I use an Apple iMac with the base software, iPhoto.
When I export and burn to a CD, the photos are evidently being exported at a very low (72) DPI. I've had complaints from publishers and a stock agency that my images are not at 300 DPI. Yet I cannot figure out how to set DPI when exporting.
One stock agency owner told me to click on "preferences" and look there for where to set DPI. I did so, and found nothing whatsoever about DPI settings. He (the stock agency owner) doesn't use an Apple, so he was probably basing his "preferences" suggestion on where one would go if they were using a Windows-based program, or if one were using Photoshop.
If anyone can tell me how to set the DPI using the software I have I would appreciate it. I don't need to know how to do this in Photoshop or Aperture, as I don't have these programs, and I do not intend to get another editing program. How do you do it using only iPhoto - that's my dilemma.
    Thanks!

    Tom:
DPI only comes into play when you set a size to be printed. Say you have an image that is 1600 x 1200 pixels in size. iPhoto when exported would report it at 72 dpi and a print size of 22.22 inches x 16.66 inches. If you you wanted a 300 dpi print from that photo you would have to print it at 5.33 inches x 4 inches.
It doesn't make any difference what the dpi is reported as long as the pixel dimensions are large. What size prints are offered by the stock agency? Take the largest that you photos would be offered at and multiple each dimension by 300 to get the number of pixels you would need to provide in the file. For example an 8 x 10 would require a minimum of 2400 x 3000 pixels. An 11 x 14 - 3300 x 4200 pixels.
To get a photo to report a specific dpi it must be set to be printed at a particular size. Photoshop can do that. The print size is included with the other info embedded in the file that would let other image applications see the dpi and the print size. For more info on this read The Myth of DPI. Watch this video screenshot of changing the dpi of a photo in Photoshop. Watch as the print size changes with dpi changing but the pixel dimensions remain the same.
iPhoto cannot set the print size for exporting.
Bottom line: if you were to provide an image at 3300 x 4200 pixels (an 11x14) it should be sufficient for any size up to that size. Photoshop Elements for Mac, at $79 (Amazon.com) has about 75% of Photoshop's capabilities at 1/7 the cost. It's really a very powerful, consumer oriented image editor. Ask them what the minimum pixel dimensions are for the photos.

  • Default Export Format

I have a Finance user who daily must export reports into excel. After a ehp upgrade of ECC they go to List-Export-Spreadsheet they get defaulted to MHTML with no popup of options like everyone else. Ok no worries I thought as this means they chosen this default an I can use report SALV_BS_ADMIN_MAINTAIN to wipe them from SALV_BS_ADMIN table. Issue is they aren't listed on the table at all. Program says no entries for this user. Any ideas whats storing this default export entry? I removed user params and no luck. Only affecting this one person.

Have you tried "&RESET_EXCEL" in the function code?
