How do I show visitors w/o Java "You need java script enabled to view this site" ?

I use Firefox as my browser and through the use of NoScript generally do not have Java Scripting active. Although I can often tell just by the behavior of a page I visit that I need to enable some Javascripts, I often get a clear message from the website itself - something like "we see that you do not have Java script enabled, please do so" or perhaps "without Javascript you cannot view this site properly."
Now, I can just put a general message on the "splash page" saying "this website requires Java script to be enabled" for every visitor to see, but I would rather have the message just for those that need to see it because Java script is disabled.  How do I do that?
Thanks in advance.
Karen

Thank you Marion, I have done that (with you name attached, it was after all your idea!
BUT - I have discovered the following: dropping the "noscript text on the page to create an HTML object works and the "your browser. . ." text appears when Javascript is turned off, and just where I want it !
Now I just have to teach myself enough coding that I can set the text size and color and I'll drop this baby on every page. Whoopee!
This is the script I used. I put a several extra spaces in the code here cause I wasn't sure what effect it would have  on the post and I don't know how to insert one of those script windows in the post.
<script type="text/javascript">
document.write()
</script>
<  noscript  >Your browser does not support JavaScript!<  /noscript  >

    When I try to login to the website of my bank, I get the following error message:
    403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
    You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
    I have a new MacBook Air with OS Yosemite installed.
    What is the problem and how can I solve it?

    Some websites require a special client certficate for access. If you don't have that certficate, you'll have to contact the site operator to find out how to get one.
    Sometimes the problem is caused by a web server that is configured to request an optional client certificate. Safari treats the request as mandatory. In that case, other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome may be able to connect to the site, because they ignore the request.
    The first time you were prompted for a certificate, you may have clicked through a dialog that requested access to the Apple certificate in your keychain that is used to secure the iMessage service. In that case, you may be able to regain access to the site in Safari by doing as follows.
    Back up all data.
    Double-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    com.apple.idms.appleid.prd
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
    Paste into the search field in the Keychain Access window by clicking in it and pressing the key combination command-V. An item may appear in the list of keychain items. The Name will begin with string you searched for, and the Kind will be "certificate."
    Delete the item by selecting it and pressing the delete key. It will be recreated automatically the next time you launch the Messages or FaceTime application.
    The next time you visit a site that prompts for an optional client certificate, cancel out of the prompt. You may have to do this several times before the server stops asking.

    When I went and connected my phone to my laptop and hit restore and it got rid of everything my photos my contacts everything and I don't know how to get the stuff back and if you need to know I have an IPhone4S

    I take it you were replacing an older iPhone and this was the first time you plugged it in? If so, that's what happens. It restored the backup of your old phone. A backup of the current phone is not made in those circumstances.
    If that's not what happened, you need to clarify.

    I don't know if this is a Firefox problem so I ask, When printing how come it always prints so small I nearly need a magnifying glass? Is this caused by something else I may have set incorrectly? help please, from a very satisfied Firefox user

    This only happens when I'm in my browser. Ex. when I'm on a site and I decide I like what I see and want to print it text that is, my printer always prints tiny. When I'm in Microsoft Word for ex. I print it and it looks like what I expect. So I don't know if somehow my printer got set to print tiny when on the web. If you can help me I would be most appreciative. Thanks again for your response.

  • I am trying to open a website that is using Microsoft content viewer, and the page does not show. Any ideas on how to view this site using firefox. It works on IE.

    I am participating in an online class whose website uses Microsoft Content Viewer to view the class content. The browser opens a new page, but nothing is there. At the top of the tab it says Microsoft Content Viewer, and nothing else. Can anyone tell me how to view my course using Firefox? I would prefer not to use IE, but it works there.

    When originally creating the pdf, you would need to choose another pdf conversion setting. In Word if you use the pdf menu, change your settings there: Adobe PDF > Change Conversion Settings. I would use High Quality Print instead. If you use the File > Print method, click the Properties button next to the Adobe PDF printer selection.
    For your already created form, you can change the file so your users will not encounter issues. In Acrobat 9, which hopefully is similar in process to 8: Advanced > Preflight > Profile tab > PDF/A compliance > Remove PDF/A information.(You'll have to unsecure your form first).
    You can read about PDF/A files in the Help.

  • Dashboards ? Ask me how... but first ask ourself Why you need a Dashboard..

    <b><i>"A dashboard is a visual display of the most important information needed to achieve one or more objectives which fits entirely on a single computer screen so it can be monitored at a glance."</i></b> - Stephen Few
    <p>
    That is a good way to describe the purpose of a Dashboard, but not enough to understand the whole concept.
    <p>
    Few phenomena characterize our time more uniquely and powerfully than the rapid rise and influence of information technologies. These technologies have unleashed a tsunami of data that rolls over and flattens us in its wake. Taming this beast has become a primary goal of the informtion industry. One tool that has emerged from this effort in recent years if the information dashboard. This single-screen display of the most important information people need to do a job, presented in a way that allows them to monitor what's going on in an instant, is a powerful new medium of communication.
    <p>
    Most information dashbarods that are used in business today fall far short potential. The root of the problem is not technology (only ;)... ) but poor visual design. To serve their purpose and fulfill their potential, dashboards must display a dense array of information in a small amount of space in a manner that communicates clearly and immediately. This requires design that taps into and leverages the power of visual perception to send and process large chunks of information rapidly.
    <p>
    We can learn a lot with the Human Being Mr. Steve Jobs from Apple, in one of the biography about this expert I found a pretty new and interesting perspective about DESIGN:
    <p>
    <b><i>"Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works."</i></b> - Steve Jobs
    <p>
    <b><i>"In most people's vocabularies, design means veneer. It's interior decorating. It's the fabric of the curtains of the sofa. But to me, nothing could be further from the meaning of design. Design is the fundamental soul of a human-made creation that ends up expressing itself in successive outer layers of the product or service."</i></b>- Steve Jobs
    <p>
    Everybody on a leadership position wants to have a beautiful (with colors and animations) Dashboard to show and talk about it to his neighbor in the next door (office) and the beauty of a Dashboard goes beyond.. it must touch your visual sense and provoke your ability to see exactly what you are looking for... to solve your problem or even to provoke the insight before it happens.
    <p>
    Any thoughts ? I've attached some examples and you can take your own conclusion...

  • I do not have Windows XP; I have Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010. How do I set-up "Do Not Track", "Private Browsing", "Clear Recent History" and "Forget this Site." The email I got today from Firefox was how to install on XP. Thanks, Bill Hardin

    I don't know any more to say about the subject. I am not a computer guru.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hi Bill, your version of Windows depends on the age of your PC. If it's fairly recent, you may have Windows 7, and if it's a few years old, you may have Windows Vista. Windows XP was released in 2002, but it is still common on business machines. Based on the information in your post, you have Windows 7.
    The features you are asking about are available in Firefox's menus. When you are running Firefox, you can access the Options dialog either of these ways:
    orange Firefox button > Options
    classic Tools menu > Options
    Please refer to the instructions you have for the rest of the story.

  • How to call a C sort function to sort a Java Array.

    My name is David, I'm interning this summer doing some High Performance Computing work. I'm significantly out of my comfort zone here; I am primarily a network/network security geek, not a programming guy. I took one Java based class called problem solving with programming where we wrote like 3 programs in Java and did everything else in pseudocode and using a program called Alice http://www.alice.org/ to do things graphically. Learned basically no actual programming syntax. Also have done some self-taught perl, but only through one book and I didn't finish it, I only got about half way through it. So my expertise in programming are pretty much null.
    That being said, I currently am tasked with having to figure out how to make JNI work... specifically at this time I am tasked with writing an array in Java, and designing a C program that can be called by means of JNI to sort the array. I have chosen to work with the Merge Sort algorithm. My method of coding is not one where I write the entire thing from scratch, I don't particularly have a need to master languages at this point, rather I just need to make them work. I am interested in learning, but time is of the essence for me right now. So thus far what I have done is take sample codes and tweak them to meet my purpose. However, I currently am unable to make things work. So I am asking for help.
    I am going to paste 3 codes here, the first one will be my basic self-written instructions for JNI (Hello World Instructions), the second one will be my Java Array, and the third one will be my MergeSort function. I am not asking for you to DO my work for me by telling me how to manipulate my code, but rather I am asking for you to send me in the direction of resources that will be of some aid to me. Links, books (preferrably e-books so I don't have to go to a library), anything that you can send my direction that may help will be deeply appreciated. Thanks so much!
    JNI Instructions:
    /*The process for calling a C function in Java is as follows:
    1)Write the Java Program name. Eg. HelloWorld.java
    2)Compile it: javac HelloWorld.java
    3)Create a header file: javah -jni HelloWorld
    4)Create a C program eg. HelloWorld.java
    5)Compile the C program creating a shared library eg. libhello.so (My specifc command is cc -m32 -I/usr/java/jdk1.7.0_05/include -I/usr/java/jdk1.7.0_05/include/linux -shared -o libhello.so -fPIC HelloWorld.c
    6) Copy the library to the java.library.path, or LD_LIBRARY_PATH (in my case I have set it to /usr/local/lib.
    7)Run ldconfig (/sbin/ldconfig)
    8)Run the java program: java HelloWorld. */
    //Writing the code:
    //For the HelloWorld program:
    //In java:
    //You need to name a class:
    class HelloWorld {
    //You then need to declare a native method:
    public native void displayHelloWorld();
    //You now need a static initializer:
    static {
    //Load the library:
    System.loadLibrary("hello");
    /*Main function to call the native method (call the C code)*/
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    new HelloWorld().displayHelloWorld();
    //In C:
    #include <jni.h> //JNI header
    #include "HelloWorld.h" //Header created by the javah -jni command parameter
    #include <stdio.h> //Standard input/output header for C.
    //Now we must use a portion of the code provided by the JNI header.
    JNIEXPORT void JNICALL
    Java_HelloWorld_displayHelloWorld(JNIENV *env, jobject obj)
    //Naming convention: Java_JavaProgramName_displayCProgramName
        printf("Hello World!\n");
        return;
    }Java Array:
    class JavaArray {
         private native int MergeSort(int[] arr);
         public static void main(String[] args)
             int arr[] = {7, 8, 6, 3, 1, 19, 20, 13, 27, 4};
         static
             System.loadLibrary("MergeSort");
    }Hacked and pieced together crappy C Merge Sort code:
    #include <jni.h>
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include "JavaArray.h"
    JNIEXPORT jint JNICALL
    Java_JavaArray_MergeSort(JNIEnv *env, jobject obj, jintArray arr[],jint low,jint mid,jint high)
       jint i,j,k,l,b[10];
    l=low;
    i=low;
    j=mid+1;
    while((l<=mid)&&(j<=high))
        if(arr[l]<=arr[j])
           b=arr[l];
    l++;
    else
    b[i]=arr[j];
    j++;
    i++;
    if(l>mid)
    for(k=j;k<=high;k++)
    b[i]=arr[k];
    i++;
    else
    for(k=l;k<=mid;k++)
    b[i]=arr[k];
    i++;
    for(k=low;k<=high;k++)
    arr[k]=b[k];
    void partition(jint arr[],jint low,jint high)
    jint mid;
    if(low<high)
    mid=(low+high)/2;
    partition(arr,low,mid);
    partition(arr,mid+1,high);
    sort(arr,low,mid,high);

    You're doing OK so far up to here:
    Java_JavaArray_MergeSort(JNIEnv *env, jobject obj, jintArray arr[],jint low,jint mid,jint high)This is not correct. It is not what was generated by javah. It would have generated this:
    Java_JavaArray_MergeSort(JNIEnv *env, jobject obj, jintArray arr,jint low,jint mid,jint high)A 'jintArray' is already an array, embedded in an object. You don't have an array of them.
    So you need to restore that, and the header file, the way 'javah' generated them, then adjust your code to call GetIntArrayElements() to get the elements out of 'arr' into a local int[] array, sort that, and then call ReleaseIntArrayElements() to put them back.

  • How do I show still photos with audio-only portion of video?

    My raw video is an interview with a talking head. I want the audio portion of the video to continue (with video portion not visible) while I show photos relating to what the head is talking about. How do I do this?

    Drag the photo onto the frame where you want it to start.
    [See Karsten Schluter's blog for a bug I found and how I got around it.|http://sites.google.com/site/karstenschluter/im08tricks] Scroll down to "the many photos over a clip bug"
    Another way:
    If you want all slides and no video, you can drag just the audio track into your project by selecting it in the Event and holding down Command and Shift while you drag it into the project.
    [Here is a blog entry describing this|http://imovie08.blogspot.com/2007/08/how-to-extract-audio-from-clip.html]
    Finally, you could upgrade to iMovie 09 where this is all much easier.

  • How do I show plays in Artist View in iTunes 11?

    I'm looking for a way to show plays in Artist View in iTunes 11. A dialog box pops up when going to View > View Options,  but nothing about changing what information can be diplayed.
    Anyone know anything about this?
    Thanks!

    I do not believe you can. If you want to see plays you need to use The songs View. If you turn on the column browser you can select by Album and in the grid below you should see count. If not then View > View Options and select Plays from the Stats section.

    John

    You do not need to use a menu item. You need a script that is at the application folder level, in a batch process, or an added menu item. Adding a menu item requires and application folder level script or console JavaScript.
    To save a file see How to save a PDF with Acrobat JavaScript by Thom Parker.
    To add a custom menu item see Adding Custom Menu Commands by Ted Padova or Add a Custom Menu Item to Acrobat by Thom Parker.
    You should also download the Acrobat JS API Reference from the Adobe Acrobat Developer Network.
