How do I structure Information in three Levels in MDM 7.1?

Hi,
I am creating a Service Catalogue for a customer. They require three levels in the catalogue: "Packed Services" that are built up by several "Services", that can have several "Supporting Services".
I am thinking  of using two main tables, and tuples to create BOS for Packed Service and Service. But how should I take care of the lowest level? They wish to be able to order Supporting Services separatly, so I dont think i can put it in a Qualified field in the Service Main Table.
How about Relationships? Are they on the way out?
Any suggestions? Is there other ways to structure data in MDM 7.1?

    I would suggest using the built in Collections framework for sorting.

    Now put everything into an instance of java.util.List and pass that to java.util.Collections.sort(java.util.List);
    If you didn't create class A, and therefore can't add a method to it, then implement a Comparator. The idea is the same, just look at the java.util.Comparator API and use java.util.Collection.sort(java.util.List, java.util.Comparator) method to sort;

  • Three-level ADF Tree from HR Schema

    JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.1 + ADFBC + ADFRC
    Hello all!
    I am stumped on this one. I want to create a tree based on the HR schema that includes three levels: Department Name > Job Title > Employee Name.
    In other words, I want the root node to be Department Name. Then, when the Department name node is expanded, I want a list of all Job Titles under that department. When the Job Titles node is expanded, a list of all employee names under that Job Title and in that Department.
    Does anyone have any ideas as to how to accomplish this?

    Thanks Shay, thats exactly the information I was missing. Thanks also for the really quick responses.
    So now the I have the three level relationship that works perfectly in the BC tester. I choose a department, select the Jobs node and see all Jobs belonging to that apartment, then click the Employees node under the Jobs node and see all employees with that job.
    However, the ADF tree still does the same thing. I've even tried creating the whole model layer manually instead of using the Business Components from Tables wizard to make sure that the proper ViewLinks were being used, and not the automatically generated ones. Still, no difference.
    Are you aware if this has definitely been done successfully before? Is there anything else I could be missing?

    Found the answers:
    1. The service Impl should implement the javax.xml.rpc.server.ServiceLifecycle interface.
    In this way you get access to a javax.xml.rpc.server.ServletEndpointContext, which gives access to amongst others javax.xml.rpc.handler.MessageContext, which gives access to request information
    2. In the Handler it is possible to store information on the MessageContext, which can be accessed in the service Impl (see 1.).

    In the log generated by the basis personnel we found the details of user and corresponding t.code used details.  How to get the information reg. which document he went into using this t.code?   • How do you structure a .book with an EDD?

    Hi all,
    I am learning how to convert legacy, unstructured FM documents into structured FM documents and need some help. So, I created a conversion table from my unstructured documents, created the EDD, applied the EDD to the unstructured document to create a structured document and now need to tweak the EDD.
    My question is, what is the correct way to layout the EDD rules for a book using multiple document styles? For example: My book contains a title page, TOC, one or more chapters, a glossary of terms, and one or more appendixes (or is that a appendicies?.)
    I am thinking the element rule would look something like this:
    Element (Container): BOOK
    Valid as the highest-level element.
    General rule: TitlePage, TOC, Chapter+, Index, Appendix+
    Followed of course by other elements required for the structure. However, I did see an EDD that I am sure was outlined like this (though I can't recall where:)
    Element: TitlePage
    Valid as the highest-level element.
    General rule: Blah blah blah
    Element: TOC
    Valid as the highest-level element.
    General rule: Blah blah blah
    Element: Chapter
    Valid as the highest-level element.
    General rule: Blah blah blah

    If the second structure is correct, how do you define the Book element? On the Adobe forum, I was told one EDD should be created for all book elements, which makes sense to me.

    Thanks Van, that does clear it up for me... a little. My confusion now is, if I set all the book sections as valid at the highest level, then how does the book get structured as the starting point for the sections contained within it? I have tried to find a sample EDD detailing exactly this, but to no avail - my search brought up courses where this is covered, but not the actual EDD structure.
    When I try to structure the book with the EDD, the book comes up red with its children elements looking just fine. Ahh! You have to love that learning curve.

    As Russ said, your BOOK element looks fine. Not sure how far you have gotten, but when you open a document file that is in the book, its root element will be Chapter, TitlePage, Appendix, etc. That is why you have to declare each of these as being valid at the highest level. When you click in the book file window and look at the structure view, you will see that the BOOK element is the root element, and its content will be TitlePage, TOC, Chapter, Chapter,...etc. The book and all of its component files have the same EDD. The definitions for the BOOK element, as well as the TitlePage, TOC, Chapter, etc elements are all contained in the same EDD. I hope this helps to answer your question.

    Hi,
    There are no Inactive objects in the cube in DEV system. Also must of the changes I made in Test are already in the cube in TEST But the cube is not active.
    SAP proposed that the cube be activated manually but is not a good procedure to activate in TEST system.
    Error when resetting InfoCube ZCRUSDI02 to the active version
    Message no. RSO410
    Diagnosis
    Errors arose when activating InfoCube ZCRUSDI02. An active version already existed before the activation.
    System Response
    InfoCube ZCRUSDI02 could not be reset to the old active version. Since the generated objects no longer correspond to the old active version, they were reset to inactive.
    Procedure
    The old active version of InfoCube ZCRUSDI02 can no longer be used. Remove the cause of the activation error and activate InfoCube ZCRUSDI02 anew.

When I was observing some standard Queries, I observed Structure( With KF and Without KF ) along with KeyFigures & Dimensions in Infoprovider area. I was wondered about , how it was possible? Can anyone clarify regarding this issue? I am suppose to creta some queries for HR reorts........

    Hi Suman,
    Structures are two types, one is local and other is Global.
    Structures that you have seen at Infoprovider level are Global, those we can use for any query developed on Infoprovider.
    Local structures cannot be used for other queries, those are local to that query only.
    Structures we can define at Rows and Column levels. We can define for Characteristics and Keyfigures also.
    To define a strucure, Right click on Rows/Columns area and say New Structure and add the fields you required so that query is defined as Local, If we want to make that strucure as Global-- then Right click on the Strucure and say Save as and Save it with proper description and technical name, then that structure will become Global Structure and it appears in the Infoprovider level.
    Remember we can a maximum of Two Strucures for a Query, there is no limitatiion to define the number of Global structures  at Infoprovider level.

  • How to transfer IDOC information to BUT000?

    We are working on transferring Business Partner Master Data from SAP HR system to SAP CRM system through IDOCs.
    The changes done in the standard SAP fields like (Partner No, Fist name, Last name etc) are transferred to BUT000 in SAP CRM successfully.
    But the ‘Z’ Fields created by the client are not getting updated.
    When we checked the IDOC in SAP CRM in transaction bd87, it has the updated information of the Z Fields, but the system fails to transfer the same to BUT000.
    To put it in short our query is – ‘How to transfer IDOC information to BUT000?’
    Anyone who has worked on this before, please provide your valuable inputs.

    If I understand ur requirement correctly then u need to move idoc_data-sdata to an internal table itab.In that case no need to move data from idoc_data-sdata to itab directly using OFF SETT.
    1st declare one wrokarea of type E1EDL24.
    data: w_E1EDL24 type E1EDL24.
    Now move the content of idoc_data-sdata to the workarea.
    move idoc_data-sdata to w_E1EDL24.
    Now u can do field by field assignment to move data from w_E1EDL24 to ur table.
    fs_itm_data-tapos = w_E1EDL24-tapos.
    fs_itm_data-nista = w_E1EDL24-nista.
    fs_itm_data-altme = w_E1EDL24-altme.
    Here I am assuming that field names in the structure fs_itm_data are same as field names in the segment w_E1EDL24.

    If anyone has created a dynamic two or three level tree, can you please explain and/or show a code example of how you did it? The 'dynamic tree tutorial' doesn't show the child node being created dynamically, but graphically.
    I can build the first level fine, but how does the child node get associated with the parent node in the next level?

  • ODM: How to link DFD Information Stores to Logical Model Entities

    I have created a hierarchy of DFDs for my system :).
    Some of the DFDs have Information stores on them.
    Now I want to specify the Entities in each InformationStore.
    I'd like to do this by linking the Information Stores to the Entities I have defined already in the Logical model/ERD.
    However... in the Information Store Properties dialog box in the Entities section there is just a [xyz] button ??
    I can't see how to link the Information stores on the DFD to my existing Entities.
    I was epxecting to see + and - buttons and a dialog box that allowed me to select the Entities I have already created ?
    Help !

    Not good, because I want the Logical Model to drive the processes, not the other way around. The tool seems to be implementing a version of systems analysis that I can trace to DeMarco (1979). This was discovered to be sub-optimal, and documented as such by Flavin (1981), and McMenamin and Palmer (1984). Palmer's later work (unfortunately, mostly unpublished) showed in more detail exactly how the Logical Model should drive the Process Models, not the other way around.
    Ideally, an Information Store could be associated to an Entity, and, when the analyst was ready (not before), balancing reports could be run to identify situations where the Entity had attributes that were never created, or never read. Other CASE tools have been able to do this for the last 20 years; it's not rocket science.
    I would characterize the way the tool works now as "program-centric" rather than "data-centric."

    If you are on Projects FP-M, you should see the setup.
    Using Forms
    Open the form - Projects, Templates and enter the project number.
    Go to Options > Billing information > Billing setup.
    Look for the left uper section called Revenue and Billing Information.
    First lise is Revenue Accrual Method
    Second line is Invoice Method
    Third line is a check box - Customer at Top Task
    Fourth line is a check box - Invoice Method as Top Task
    If you don't see those fields, you may be not on the right version of the system.
