How do people in Designers group provide permissions after creating list/libraries?

We've always kept our SharePoint intranet pretty locked down, such that only those in an Owner's group can create lists and libraries.  We decided to utilize the Designer group to allow a select handful of people to be able to create lists and libraries
(without making them owners of the site).  How do these "designers" apply permissions?  It doesn't appear that they can under the library settings.
There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what you are trying to accomplish.

Oh I see. But if a user create a Library then user is the own of library and can assign the permission. when you click on the List / library settings on that page under the "Permissions and Management " can
you see the link "Permissions for this document library".
could you please share the screen print.
Also check the permission of the user on that Library.

    You should just be able to erase it using Disk Utiilty. I did with my 8Gb.
    If not I have a USB deep format tool, but it only works with Windows: http://tinyurl.com/mwor6s9
    You can download that and unzip it, then run it on a PC to fully erase and format the flash drive. Format it in FAT, and then the Mac will read and mount it so you cna once again format it with HFS extended for Mac use.

    Hi all! I vaguley remember in the past that there is a preference to automatically delete a .ps file after creating a pdf. Can someone remind me of how to do this? I'm using Distiller version 9.2.0. Thank you so much!

    PS: I'm creating the .ps file from Quark 7, if that makes a difference.

    I am unaware of any feature allowing automatic delete of .PS files.
    The adobePDF print driver which has been removed in OSX.6.x (Snow Leopard) That you choose when ina Document would go through the following steps in the background this made it slow.
    create .ps File (hidden)
    Checksum Verify the .ps File
    Open Distiller in background (hidden)
    Create Pdf
    Checksum Verify the .pdf File
    shut down Distiller in Backgroun (hidden)
    Delete .ps File (hidden)
    Pdf suddenly appears
    If at any point in this chain something dies the pdf was not made.
    Actually in prior OS to X.3.x the print driver provided for my Hp Inkjet, it was actually better to go to print menu, and choose save as  postscript, then drop the postsript file on distiller and creat the PDF. or just open the ps in Acrobat.
    with the PRint Drive provided for my HP Inkjet for X.3 it was changed to  create Postcsript file from PDF.  In the start having the PDF button on print menu. The pdf's were not as good as those created in the AdobePDF driver. But were aceptable for most purposes.

    I have homepage with multiple sites. I like you Tab Groups which enable me to group those sites under particular group. However, I found that the group were gone when i close and open back Firefox.

    You can open it back in "about:home" just click "Restore Previous Session" and you will get your group tab back.

    When I create a new folder, the default owner is my home directory name ("short name") and the default group is also my home directory name ("short name"). Why is this? What is a group? How do I create a group name if I want to pick one myself?
    Are there any good tutorials/books on permsissions/owners/groups that explain how to set up accounts and use permissions at the average user level? "Mac help" is very skimpy in the a how/why to do something with ownership and permissions.

    In Mac OS X, every user account is a member of at least one group, and every file and folder has group permissions assigned. Groups give permissions to sets of users who are able to perform similar functions. Mac OS X does not provide an application to easily create and manage groups. Instead, it uses some preset groups to give users permissions and functionality. If you need to create and manage groups, you will need to use Mac OS X Server, or the built in NetInfo Manager.
    If you need more information, any book dealing with OS X and Unix should suffice.

    You can text as many people as you want at once on the iPhone 5!
    Bonus: If you want to send everyone a message without each person knowing who else received the message, you can go to Settings > Messages and turn Group Messaging to OFF. Each recipient will receive an individual message.

    In order to group text all at once, you must go to "Settings" on your iPhone, go to "Messages" and just make sure the switch "Group Messaging" is turned "ON". Then in order to group message to 12 people, those 12 people must also have a carrier that could also support group messaging (or so I was told) or maybe those 12 people should have an iPhone too. I think this may help you just a little bit on how to text with 12 other people.

    The way I do it is to put my name in the To: on an e-mail and then add all the others under BCC (blind carbon copy) and that way all the people in the BCC receive the message but all they see is your name...hope this helps.

  • Managing users to provide access on multiple lists having unique permissions.

    I have 20 lists in a site coll and all are having unique permissions and the reason of why i have stop inheritance is to not giving users edit access on site pages but should have full access on lists. If i used inherited permission and want to give full
    access to list, i have to check 'manage lists' in the permission level which provides user edit permission or some unauthorized access in to the page.
    So, because in order to overcome this i have created two permission level: for
    page view & for list/library view and stop inheritance on library and give users
    list/library view access in it to let them access the lists/library.
    it makes the management very high in terms of new user access. For this i have to go to  more than 20 places and grant permission to that particular user. How can i manage and use it in effective way...please help me on this..!!

    I would suggest to create groups based on permission level you have given and add the users to those groups.
    For all the lists you will add the groups for the permissions, so whenever you want grant/remove access to users you will add/delete the user from that group.
