How does a lob get stored

Hi,
If I create a table with a lob and an inserted lob is greater then 4000 bytes how does it get stored in the tablespace. I know it gets stored out-of-the-row, but how much space does it use in a local managed tablespace. For example I got a LMS of 1MB Uniformed size. Does every lob over 4000 bytes use 1M?? hows it work? what happens when the blob is updated and becomes larger??
thanks,
steve.

LOB tables are allocated in chunks. The chunk size is selectable and you should have set it to a size based on how much data you expect to insert and update in a typical operation. See the SQL manual and the DBA Administration manuals for details. The smallest size an insert of a LOB will take is one Oracle block as LOB segment blocks are dedicated to one LOB row entry.

  • Where does portal details gets stored in the backend

    Hi Gurus,
Where does portal contents gets stored in the portal related backend ?
Example:  We have Content Administration under which we create iviews, pages, worksets and roles. Where does this gets stored ? do they get stored in some table as shown below ?
    Table:
    Parameters:
iview   'Report a Problem' iView Path      Add Padding Inside Tray   Allow Client-Side Caching   Application Name
    Values:
    Test       com.sap.portal.epsolman.EPSolman     Yes                                     Yes                                Testapp
How can we fetch the details ?
    Regards,
    Rashmi

    Hi Rashmi
To get the data from the portal database you need to use a datasource lookup.
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    DataSource ds = (DataSource)ctx.lookup("jdbc/SAP/BC_JMS");
    Connection con = ds.getConnection();
The following datasources are provided by default for reading data from portal database
    SAP/BC_JMS,SAP/BC_UME, SAP/BC_WDRR.

  • HT5262 where does the information get stored when you back up your i-phone? It just reports its done but I have no idea where to find it if I need it again!

Where does the information get stored when you sync/back up your i-phone. I have no idea where to look if I need it again!
    Thanks

You can chhose the backup when you would reset your device. In this case you would get the option, during the set up process, to choose your backup and restore your device from it.
(You can find a few information e.g. size and date of your backup in "Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage")

  • How does the GR get into SUS---MM-SUS Sceanario

    Hi all,
How does the GR get into SUS---MM-SUS Sceanario. Can anyone explain??
    Thanks in Advance..
    Regards,
    Jagan

    Hi,
    In SUS - MM scenario
The supplier ships the goods and sends an ASN based on PO or an Scheduling Agreement to the purchaser. If ASN is based on PO then PO Response has to be accepted  by the purchaser. When the ASN is sent from the SUS system, an inbound delivery is created automatically in SAP MM.
Now Create GR with reference to ASN or PO based on your requirement in R/3 - MM. The GR notification is then sent to the SUS system, where the supplier can display it.

    Hi,
Here are the tables you should look at:
    fnd_attached_documents
    fnd_documents
    fnd_documents_tl
    fnd_lobs
    fnd_documents_short_text
fnd_attached_documents has a column called entity_id which contains the po_header_id or po_line_id depending on where the document is attached. Those tables are already mentioned in the link referenced above --> Where are attachments stored in oracle apps

  • How does the attribute gets the data from R/3 field?

    Hi Experts,
It could be silly Q.  IO has attributes x, y, z.......  When we map r/3 field to IO, and it is added to the cube and when we create a report, how does the attribute gets data?  I've been working in BW and suddenly I got confused.  Someone please provide me some info
    Thanks,
    Radha

X,Y,Z being attributes of an info object A.
When A gets loaded it will be loaded with X,Y,Z.
If A is a cube and if you wish you can bring X,Y,Z also in the cube in one or more dimensions.
If you keep X,Y,Z as vag attributes rather than in te cube as dimensions, then , the system will generate SIDs for them.

    Hi Cassi,
If you are ordering subscriptions for various people in your office, it would be best to sign up under their Adobe IDs, so they can log in and use the subscription with their own credentials. As for moving the current subscription, the easiest route is to cancel the current subscription (see Cancel your membership or subscription | Acrobat, Acrobat.com online services--or I can help), and then reorder as necessary.

How does my spouse get the benefits of using my iCloud for contacts and calanders but not messages, etc?

iCloud is designed for personal use and not for managing multiple access.  If you gives your password to someone else, this person can benefit everything including access to purchase with your account, email, etc.
You should rather consider having each one an iCloud account and then, create and share a calendar.  As for contact, you can send them to your spouse to be save in her account but they cannot be shared nor synced.

  • HT5244 How does Flashback Malware get into a Mac?

How does Flashback Malware get into a Mac?

    The ‘Flashback Trojan’:
A version of an existing Trojan Horse posing as a legitimate Flash Player installer (named “Flashback.A” by a security firm) is designed to disable updates to the default Mac OS X anti-malware protection system, potentially leaving the system open to the manual installation of other malware without any system warnings. The most recent versions bypass any user action and automatically installs itself after an affected website is visited.
    http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/11/10/19/fake_adobe_flash_malware_seeks_to_ disable_mac_os_x_anti_malware_protection.html
(Adobe is aware of malware posing as its Flash Player and warns users to ignore any updates that didn't originate on its own servers. "Do not download Flash Player from a site other than adobe.com," said David Lenoe, Adobe's product security program manager, in an entry on Adobe Product Security Incident Response Team's PSIRT blog. "This goes for any piece of software (Reader, Windows Media Player, QuickTime, etc). If you get a notice to update, it's not a bad idea to go directly to the site of the software vendor and download the update directly from the source. If the download is from an unfamiliar URL or an IP address, you should be suspicious.")
Flashback Trojan - Prevention of infection:
In order to prevent a potential infection with “Flashback” Trojans, Mac users should always obtain their copy of Adobe Flash Player directly from Adobe’s official website and to disable the "Open 'safe' files after downloading" option in Safari Preferences/General to avoid automatically running files downloaded from the Internet. Also, do not turn on Java in Safari Preferences/Security. Few websites use Java. Javascript is something entirely different and should be left active.
The Flashback Trojan does not affect PPC (non-Intel) Macs, nor has it been noted to affect users running Tiger OS 10.4.11 or Leopard OS 10.5.8.
Last, but by no means least, using Open DNS is the simplest way of preventing infection in the first place. Open DNS also protects against phishing attacks, re-directs, speeds up your internet connection, and works for all users of OS X from Tiger upwards:

Flashback Trojan - Detection and Removal
Users with Intel Macs running Snow Leopard OS 10.6 or Lion OS 10.7 should ensure that they have downloaded all the recent Java updates from Apple, which are designed to prevent infection and also remove any infection already present.
New Macs running Lion do not have either Flash Player nor Java installed. If you running Lion and have not already downloaded and installed Java, you should download the ‘Flashback malware removal tool’ from Apple:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5246  (356KB) which includes the same code as the Java update that plugged a security hole which allowed the malware to automatically install itself without admin authorization.
You can also use this to check whether you have been infected (for Intel Macs only) and remove it if required:

  • Where does SSO information gets stored in Apps 11i

    Hi,
I installed Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2. This has been further integrated with Oracle Single Sign On server (Oracle iAS 10.1.2.0.2).
Does any one know where does the SSO infrormation gets stored in Apps, i.e. is there any table which stores these details? How does Apps come to know where to look for SSO server ?
    Thanks in advace.

We had a strange issue while enabling SSO for one of the test instances. After registering with the SSO server, the user was still directed to the >AppsLocalLogin.jsp page. The user preferences are SSO and we did take a Apache restart but it did not work.Is this true for all users, or just one? If not all users, this may be a case of cached files on the client (web browser) side. Can the affected users connect from other browsers on other machines, or from their own browsers after clearing the cache?
I ran the test, but it shows me the information which already is known. I mean we know the URL's of SSO server. I was wondering as to how txkrun.pl script handles the login preferences ? Does it changes the aplogon.html file or does something other ?
How does the instance comes to know that it is now single sign-on enabled and has to redirect to the SSO server rather than LocalLogin.jsp.txkrun.pl and AutoConfig should make all the necessary changes to the various configuration files (Apache httpd.conf and mod_osso.conf, Oracle AS ias.properties files, etc). As Hussein states, there should be no need to manually modify aplogon.html. Changes there will be overwritten the next time you (or adpatch) run AutoConfig, anyway.
Vikram Das has written a [useful and thorough treatment|http://oracleappstechnology.blogspot.com/2007/08/apps-11i-login-flow.html] of what goes on in the course of logging in to an 11i system that is integrated with SSO.
It's also possible that you have stale/corrupt JSPs cached on the web server; a simple restart of Apache will not necessarily fix this. Have you tried using ojspCompile.pl (in $FND_TOP/patch/115/bin) to recompile some of the JSPs associated with the login process?

Hi Guys, I have configured CRS to use an existing database(SQL). After installation of CRS, i manually configured LDAP for authentication. I looked at these LDAP credentials in the database tables. In all there are only 5 tables that get created & i can see only 2 entries of data (in CMS.Aliases table) related to LDAP.I didn't find other info like LDAP server name, password, etc... Please can anyone let me know where these LDAP credentials get stored? Its really urgent... Thanks & Regards,Vishal

I got the same problem.  I use enterprise authentication and oracle database. I have 8 tables created and only these tables have entries, CMS_INFOOBJECTS4 and  CMS_ALIASES4. One field in CMS_INFOOBJECTS4 called PROPERTIES has BLOB type. I am wondering if this is the field to save the password. Now I need to retrieve user password and use the same password for other purpose. How can I get the password and convert it from binary to encrypted text? Any idea? Thanks.

    Hi
In SD you set up the account assignment to FI, the customer in SD is normal the same customer number as in FI. There are different other options possible, this is set up in the partner rol in SD. (like Payer).
From SD there is an intertnal interface to FI/CO that use these settings
This part of the settings is between FI and CO and should be done by sales and finance
