How does the Reader or Acrobat determine which plug-ins should be loaded

Hi,
I have a custom plug-in for Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat.
The custom plug-in api file will be available in the plugins folder for all users.
But I want the plug-in to load for few users only.
Is there any registry key or any other property available to achieve this?

    I'm currently trying to replace an HP-85 with a modern computer running VB.NET, which will communicate with an HP 3421A. Unfortunately the 3421A was created before SCPI was created, so I believe the commands I am able to send are dictated by what the 3421A lists in the manual (http://exodus.poly.edu/~kurt/manuals/manuals/HP%20Agilent/HP%203421A%20Operation,%20Programming%20%20&%20Configuration.pdf).
    The commands I'm trying to use to troubleshoot are "DCV", which reads a voltage, and "SR", which returns 24 different registers, with register 1 being the status byte. When I write "DCV" and then read, it returns a correct voltage. When I write "DCV" and click "Read Status Byte" in the VISA panel, it lets me know that data is available to be read and when I read it returns a correct voltage. When I write "DCV", then "SR" and then read, it returns 24 different bytes, with the first byte being the status register, but it doesn't recognize the "DCV" command from before and the status byte is now 0, which leads me to believe that it's overwriting the "DCV" command from before.
    How can I mimic the functionality of the "Read Status Byte" button in the VISA panel? How does this work on instruments created before SCPI was implemented? Sending "*STB?\n" doesn't work. I am new to instrumentation so if I left out some necessary information please let me know.

  • How does the "Read TDMS" function work when reading part of a data file?

    Hi everyone,
    I have stored some rather large .lvm files that causing me a a big headache when trying to read/analyse the data.... As a work around I first convereted these files to .tdms.... Now the files are much smaller (50%) and can be load/plot within a couple of seconds rather than 10's of seconds.
    Specifically, the files include 7 channels of data that were sampled at 2kHz for about 8-9 mins..... So, each file contains about 700,000 data points or elements.... I am using a producer/consumer architechure to read/plot all the data, then using cursors to identify a data subset, which is send via a queue to the consumer where analysis occurs.... Given the size of the files, when subset is quite large I get "Out of Memory" errors and LabVIEW crashes.
    What I am thinking is that I can down-sample or decimate the data in the producer back to 1kHz (I need to ms resolution so I can see the spikes and can appropriately selected the subset) then index back into the original tdms file to send the undeciated data to the consumer.
    With the "Read TDMS" function, the help states:
    COUNT: Specifies the maximum number of data elements to read from the .tdms file for each channel. The default is –1.
    OFFSET: Specifies the number of data elements into the .tdms file at which the function begins analyzing the .tdms file. The default is 0.
    I am confused by the term "elements". Does this mean actual "data points" as in elements within the 2D array? Or bytes? I am hoping array elements... Would this then mean that given my 7 channels of data, each element value that is a multiple of 7 would index into a new line of data? I also assume this index is zero based... So with no offset, a count value of 0 would return all the data elements at time 0.0000s for all channels (regardless differences in the precision of each channel, unlike bytes), a value of 7 would return all the data elements at time 0.0005s, a value of 14 would return all the data elements at time 0.0010s, etc etc..
    Also, if anyone has any example code for indexing into a file using this method they could shareI would be very appreciative... I would assume a for loop could also be used to read the data subset into the consumer in smaller chunks to reduce the memory load?

    You should have a different channel in the TDMS file.  So you are reading X elements from a channel starting at element Y.  Yes, those are elements in the array, not Bytes.  NI did a good job of making the API easy to use.

    I have been thinking about getting a new iPad from the iPad 2. I know the original iPad mini and the iPad 2 have similar specs, but the real upgrade I get from it is the wireless technology and the ability to use Handoff. Overall, how does the original iPad mini handle iOS 8? Should I go with that iPad or get the iPad mini 2? I wouldn't get the iPad mini 3 because I don't think Touch ID is necessary for what I want to do on an iPad.

    Get the mini 2 when the prices come down. The mini 2 is baically a smaller iPad Air. The improvements over the mini are well worth the money.

  • How does the SDK and Reader handle printing with orientation?

    I have a document that I want to print, and it contains a portrait page on Page 1, and a landscape page on Page 2.  Acrobat Reader correctly prints these pages (with a single print job), and I'm assuming it's because of the auto-rotate option on the print dialog.  Is this a feature of Reader, the API, or how the printer handles the request.  I've tried printing this PDF just using the JAva API, but the orientation remain portrait for all pages.  How does the Adobe Acrobat API deal with mixed orientation pages?  Ignore the fact that I did my test printing with Java, because my question is whether or not the auto orientation is a feature of the UI, the SDK, or the printer (or a combination).

    Same as the current Ipod Video or "Classic" there is an option under settings to toggle between original aspect ratio or Full Screen.

    I recently upgraded from jre 1.4.1 to 1.4.2.
    I'm having problems with applets, and I've traced the problem to the fact that java.home still points to the old JRE directory. Here is a line from the system properties dump in the java console:
    java.home = C:\PROGRA~1\Java\J2RE14~1.2_0
    That directory doesn't exist anymore. The directory that contains the jre is now c:\program files\Java\j2re1.4.2_01.
    I properly uninstalled 1.4.1, and I've tried uninstalling everything java related, manually deleting everything I can find (files, folders, registry settings) related to java or sun, and reinstalling, and this problem is still there.
    I've also tried setting the property in the JAVA_HOME environment variable as well as setting it as a runtime option in the java control panel ( -Djava.home=. . .). No dice.
    How does the JRE determine java.home? Is there a way to manually set the path?

    Check regedit with the oldvalueThanks -- I tried that. The old value is not in the registry, and all of the registry settings for java.home point to the correct directory. The java.home value that ends up inside the plugin must be determined some other way (at least in 1.4.2).
    If anyone out there knows where it comes from, please let me know!

    It will read 5000 samples per channel.
    The Write Measurement File just writes whatever you give it.  It you send it 5000 data points, it will write the 5000 data points.

    The iPhone does not remember its position. When it's turned on, the accelerometer detects the force of gravity, so can calculate how much the phone is tilted. This tilt reading, combined with the magnetic compass reading, can determine the phones orientation. The GPS can give the phone's location. None of this requires knowing anything that happened to the phone while power was off.
    This is unlike an inertial guidance system, which has to continuously monitor rotation and acceleration to calculate how far it has moved from a starting position. An inertial system, would use too much power, and be too large and expensive, for a hand-held device. They are used for systems that have to work without outside signals, such as radio beacons or GPS. Inertial guidance systems are used on submarines, for some underground position measurements (such as mining and oil well drilling), and for plane and missile systems that have to work when GPS may be unreliable due to jamming or satellite destruction.

    Scheduling in ODI is controlled by a special type of ODI agent, strangley called the ODI scheduling agent. This agent is installed as a service and as well as being responsible for all tasks associated with a normal agent is also responsible for managing ODI jobs based on any scheduling information associated with an ODI scenario. All scheduling information is stored in the ODI repository and the scheduler agent reads from this to determine which jobs/scenarios need to be executed and when.

    In this .scr file (APDU Script), I understand the first 4 bytes, it means to create an Applet, but what about the rest? I know there are some intermixes of lengths and AIDs, I just can't decipher this.

  • How does the remote object connect to the correct host

    i have had a small doubt on how the remote reference manages to find the correct host to call the subsequent methods after a sucessful lookup.
    given a rebind or bind to the registry, the registry only stores the alias and the remote reference, now imagine a client calling a lookup on the registry would only get the remote reference, and not in which machine the remote object is found.
    what i wanted to know is how does the client or atleast the remote reference returned by the registry correctly connects to the machine where the remote object is located. i dont think its stored in the stub bcos the stub is a complie time stuff.
    i would be pleased to have a comprehensive answer for this.

    The membership in the group communication framework is always accurate and upto date.Up to date to the moment when you check. Not up to date to the moment when you make the RMI call.
    i could basically chk if this ip is available in the membership list.Complete waste of time. It doesn't matter what you check ahead of time, you are still trying to predict the future.
    And you still have to deal with ConnectException etc from the actual remote method call. And the way you will deal with that in your situation is exactly the same as what you were going to do if your ahead-of-time check failed.
    So just catch the exception(s) and deal with the problem there.

    Hey guys i recently posted this quesiton in a different area of the community but instead of being helped was just ridiculed for posting in the wrong place... +1 for helpfulness guys :/ lol Anyways... ive been told to ask in the development section.. I have a $9.99 app and it was sitting at 10th place in the top grossing apps a few weeks ago on the UK app store, now I noticed in the morning that it was ahead of an app which was 49.99 so i presumed that I must have sold at least 5 or 6 to be ahead of him (my idea of top grossing is quantity x price) but when itunesconnect released their reports in the afternoon it turned out that i'd only sold 1 copy.. so what im asking is basically how does the top grossing section work? and how regularly does it update? is it live? daily? etc

    Your rank is better than the other app because you've made a sale while they've made none. When you make a sale, you jump in the charts, and after that you slowly go down if you don't make another sale. In other words, the bottom of the charts has many apps that didn't make any sale recently. I've also noticed that if you make some sales in other countries than the current chart, that'll very slightly improve your rank.
