How much Ram can I install in a mid 2011 mac mini, 2.3Ghz?
I have a mid 2011 mac mini with a 2.3 Ghz processor and the factory installed 2GB of ram. I would like to increase my ram but I am confused about the amount it can handle. everywhere i look on the internet it says it can handle up to 8GB however i spoke with apple care on the phone and they said it can handle up to 16GB. So which is it?
thank you for your help.

How much RAM can be installed on a MacPro4.1?
physically 8 x 16GB, addressable in 10.8.3 is 96GB
you still on snow leopard? you can also use that.
6 x 8GB is probably more or as much as you need and try www.macsales.com/memory for kits -

I upgraded RAM to 16gb in my i7 mid 2011 mac mini and it shuts down at night
I have a mid 2011 mac mini i7. Below are the specs on memory, hardware, and solid state. I also have Yosemite installed - everything is current. version 10.10.2
I've had 8gb installed since I bought it. And I just purchased 2 sticks of Crucial RAM 8gbx2.
Everything is fine but when I go to bed and wake in the morning, the system will not wake-up. I have fresh batteries in the keyboard and mouse. The system mini is warm on top - not cold or hot. So it does not seem asleep. I have pressed the button on the mac mini once and thought it was alseep...nothing happens. I just can't get it back up after it seems asleep at night.
The only way I can get the system going again is pulling the power plug. This has happened each night since installing the RAM. Oh, I also have held the power button down for 5 seconds trying to do a hard reset. Nothing
I was really excited to get the system up and running with 16gb but hate trouble. I am not a tech expert....
I have not changed any settings. And if it was asleep, why isn't it waking?
Does anyone have any ideas here?

I did both resets you offer in the link above and then I went to bed last night.
In the morning, when I hit the keyboard, it paused and came to light....and said there was a problem and it automatically reset and re-booted from a blank screen (not main screen). This was the screen after the reboot. The full error info is listed below the image.

How much RAM can I put in my mid 2010 17" MacBook Pro?
Hello-
I'd like to upgrade my memory. Would anyone happen to know how much RAM (the max amount) I can place into my mid 2010 MacBook Pro 17"?
Thanks-8 GB.
Purchase memory from OWC / MacSales or Crucial. There may be other vendors of reliable Mac RAM but those are the only two I have used and can recommend. -
How much RAM can I install in my Macbook Pro?
I have a late 2011 model Macbook Pro. It is a 13 inch with 2.8 Ghz Intel i7 duo core processor and 4 GB (2 x 2) RAM. Can I upgrade to 16 GB (2 x 8) RAM?
Installing RAM in a 2011-2012 MacBook Pro
There is really only one way to install RAM into a 2011-2012 MacBook Pro and while there are hundreds of DIY videos online, I just like this one, found on YouTube, by “macmixing”.
Note that there is a difference in the RAM that should be used in 2011 and 2012 models.
2011 models must use:
•204-pin PC-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
And 2012 models must use:
•204-pin PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
So here's the video:
Remember that the 13", 15" and 17" 2011 models (early or late) and the 13" and 15" mid-2012 non-Retina models can handle 4GB, 8GB or (unofficially, but, believe me, it works) 16GB of RAM. There are, in my opinion, only three 100% Mac-compatible vendors out there: Corsair, Crucial and OWC. I really can't recommend any other brands, even though it may work, as these are the only brands that I've personally used in quite a while. Also remember to stay away from any RAM that is a “value” brand - Macs are picky about RAM and often these value RAM modules just don’t work very well.
Good luck,
Clinton -
How much RAM can I install on my MacBook Pro?
I'm thinking of upgrading the RAM on my MacBook Pro 13-inch Late 2012 Non-Retina with a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 chip in it. I currently have 4GB of RAM in it (2x4) and I want to upgrade to 16GB of RAM (2x8). Can I do this upgrade?
Sure, you can remove the Ram that you have and replace it with 2 x 8GB chips. Macs are picky about Ram, buy it from OWC, or Crucial.

How much RAM can I install?
Alright. This seems simple but I don't want to have to go through the rigamarole of buying the wrong one and having to return it.
I have a Mid-2010 MacBook Pro running Lion 10.7.3, currently with the 4gb of RAM that it came with. I want to upgrade this.
I am aware that there are two slots that I can use to upgrade. My question is this: the spec page for my model (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP582) states that it has "4GB (two 2GB SO-DIMMs) of 1066MHz DDR3 memory; two SO-DIMM slots support up to 8GB." Does this mean that I can have 8 total (meaning I can only add 4), or that I can add 8 gigs, making a total of 12? As far as I'm aware, the base 4 are located somewhere else inside the computer, leaving the two expansion slots empty.
Thanks in advance for any help.Hi. You can upgrade to a maximum of 8gB, utilizing the 2 existing slots. You would need to replace both 2-2gB sticks with 2-4gB sticks.

How much ram can I install on iMac 2010, 21.5" i5 2.5ghz
Hi
I am considering to buy the cheapest iMac 21.5
http://www.apple.com/imac/specs.html
From the spec, it says it can only be upgrade to 8GB.
But from the support center,
http://support.apple.com/kb/SP623?viewlocale=en_US
All models could upgrade to 16GB.
Anyone knows why?The 8GB max might also refer to the "Late 2011 iMac Education Model" with an i3 processor with has a indeed a max. Ram of 8GB.
Everywhere else the 21.5 iMac is said to support 16GB RAM (4 x 4GB).
EveryMac and OWC/Macsales say it supports up to 32GB (4 x 8GB).

How much memory can I install in my mac book pro?
Mac book pro 2.4 GHz late 2011 i7....How much memory can I install? Currently have 4Gb but want to run Win 7 on VMware and want to make sure my user has enough
The position of Apple is that the Late 2011 can take 8 GB, however, OWC, http://www.macsales.com and Crucial, http://www.crucial.com both guarantee their 16 GB ram packages to work. Both are sellers of high quality ram that is guaranteed to work in Macs.

How much ram can I put In a 12" 867MHZ?
Hi,
I've just picked up a 12" 867mhz Powerbook for a very reasonable price! My question is how much ram can i put in it? It currently has 640mb. Also if i can put some more in it will it run Leopard?Bear in mind you can customise the install of Leopard to exclude some languages and particularly exclude printer drivers that aren't relevant to you, this will substantially lower the total required space. 12" Powerbooks are rather fiddly to work on - here's a really thorough guide on Hard drive replacement etc. for your Powerbook:

How much RAM should I install for new iMAC ?
Hi,
How much RAM should I install for new iMAC* running Logic Studio? It comes with 4 GB - is that enough? (can you run in 64 bit mode..)
*(The 21.5" 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo)
Also, I was planning to get the stock 1 TB Hard Drive & save projects to an external drive.
Does that sound reasonable?
Any other recommendations?
Thanks,
Wm HeartUnless you plan on running huge projects with enormous sampled instruments, 4 GB will do (very) fine. And your disk plan is sound. Choose an external Firewire drive, rather than USB. FW is easier on the CPU and can handle more tracks than USB.
What you should get, instead of more memory, is a (24 bit) external audio interface, if you want to do serious recording and playback.
What type of audio interface you'ld need, depends on what you want to do with it and of course your budget. From decent to brilliant costs from roughly 100 to several 1,000's of europounddollars. Avoid the 16 bit ones, they're worse than the inbuilt audio chip of your iMac. You can recognize 16 bit Audio Interfaces (in webshops) by their prize (often under 100€£$) and the lack of mention of their bitrate.

How much ram can my iMac take?
Hi all, just bought a iMac a few days ago and I'm just wondering how much ram can it take as I want to upgrade it. It didnt come with a manual, so I don't know.
Here's the spec so far
Early 2008 20"
Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT 128 MB
Software OS X 10.8.2 (12C60)
Thanks for any help in advanceThere are two answers: the official Apple answer and the "you're on your own" answer.
