How the LMS 4.2 calculate average interface Utilization

Hello!
I have interface Tunnel1 with bandwidth 5000.
How the LMS 4.2 calculate average interface RxUtilization or TxUtilization on this interface?

Hi ,
Below is how LMS calculates this value:
RxUtilization = (ifInOctets*8*100)/ifSpeed
TxUtilization = (ifOutOctets*8*100)/ifSpeed
Thanks-

Hi,
How to calculate average balance for an account for a particular period say for JAN-12 period and after the end of that period for another two days 01-feb-12 and 01-feb-12 ?
I'm using the following query :
SELECT cc.segment1||'-'||cc.segment2||'-'||cc.segment3||'-'||cc.segment4||'-'||cc.segment5||'-'||cc.segment6 "Account_XX",

• How to calculate average value?

Hi all,
I'm using Lumira 1.15. I'm doing some practices with the sample dataset BestRunCorp... I want to calculate the average value of gross margin which is grouped by lines so that I can use a line chart to show the difference between the gross margin value and average value.
How can I achieve this ?
Best regards,
Shuang

It looks like it calculates the average based on the dimension
See below:
If you take the "Best run" Excel file, sort by country, calculate the average in Excel, it matches Lumira's 4,056 (for Argentina)
I am not sure I follow your divide by 12 logic?

• How to calculates averages and send to a file?(source code)

how to calculates averages and send to a file?(source code) I need to get started but I don't know where to begin...........the book I have doesn't really say how to handle averages and send to a file.................anybody got suggestions on how to get started? I am a newbie so place in layman's terms.............thanx

To calculate an average: add all of the numbers together and divide by how many numbers you added together.
ex: (1 + 2 + 3 + 10)/4 = 4 (4 is the average)
As for writing them to a file, look over the API for random or sequential access files.

• How do I calculate averages in a form?

Hi All,
I'm throwing myself on the mercy of the forum.
I'm new to form building and I don't know javascript.
I'm working on a form and I can't seem to get it right.
When I first enter values it seems to be working, but if I make corrections or changes the calculations go bad.
I'm sure there is an easier/better way to calculate averages in a form.
I think I need either a calculate/re-calculate button, or better javascript that processes the math line by line.
I'm getting too close to the deadline to keep futzing around with it.
Would anyone care to have a look at my form and help me?
Here are the details...
I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro
I, and the administrators, are using Adobe Reader X. (10.1.4)
I'm using a Macintosh running OS X (10.7.4, Lion)
Teacher Evaluation Form:
Teachers demonstrate proficiency in four domains.
Evaluators assign scores (-, N, 0, 1, 2, and 3) to a number of items in each domain.
N indicates the item is Not Applicable.
A dash - indicates a score hasn't been given yet.
Each domain has a weight value to be calculated into the final score.
My job is to create a form that calculates the raw average and the weighted score for each domain, then a total for the performance evaluation total.
What I did.
I created:
A drop down field to score each item under each domain.
A hidden field that decides if the field for each item has a true number or another character.
A hidden field that sums the scores of all the items in each domain.
A hidden field that sums the number of fields that have a numeric value.
A field that divides the total of the values from each domain and divides it by the number of of fields with numeric values to get the raw average.
A field that multiplies the raw average by the appropriate amount to get the weighted score for each domain.
Finally, a field that sums the weighted scores to produce the final evaluation total.
Again, it seems to work at first, but if any changes are made to the scores the math goes bad.
Here is a download of the form with all the hidden fields visible so you can see what is happening.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/783012/2_Evaluation%20Form.pdf
Please help me!

There are several problems with the calculation script for the "Test Total" field. Be sure to have the following user preference set: Edit > Preferences > JavaScript > Show console on errors and messages.
Also check that the field calculation order is correct.

• How can I make what a user types in text entry box go to the lms?

Hi,
I have a couple text entry boxes for non-scored short answer responseses---more of a reflective exercise than anything else.
However, I'd like the text the learner types to be recorded by the LMS.
How do I make that happen if it is not an actual assessment?

Each TEB gets automatically an associated variable with a generic name that is the same as the TEB (I always recommend choosing a more appropriate name). Lookin the General Accordion, you'll see the Variable field.

• "Calculate Average" option for the Activity Usage Profile doesn't work

I have the same problem as poster 793128 in a comment for a different thread: the "calculate average" profile option doesn't work for units (it works for cost though). I've used this option a lot on previous versions of Primavera but for some reason is not working on our new P6 release 7 (stand alone). As 793128’s post says: nothing happens, nothing changes, the profile keep showing totals, doesn't matter if the "base hours on time period" box is selected or if the divider is input by the user.
The same option (calculate average / divide by) on the resource usage spreadsheet and on the tabular reports do work as expected so doesn't seem to be that I checked the wrong box for some user or administrator preference set up.
Thank you for any help or clue. I posted this as a different thread because my original post was in a resource profile thread for a different issue that was already answered.

*793365,*
After reading your post I tested an older layout of mine that uses a similar setup and it still operates fine. On the "Resource Usage Profile Options" box under the "Graph" tab, I have "Calculate Average" checked and "24" entered in the "Divide interval totals by:" box.
This allows my resource profile to display manhours per day for me.
Some of my background info:
I run in a multi-users platform and not in a stand alone setup.
We have different resources loaded into the schedule with multiple calendars.
I have several "Resource Filter/Group Names" setup for each separate resource on the "Data" tab too.
Hope this helps,

• How can I read an ID-value from the LMS and insert this into an URL?

Hi
Right now I am struggling with a little problem. Hopefully anyone here knows the answer. For the latest course I am building (Captivate 6), it is necessary that at one point the course reads an ID-value from the LMS. After that, this ID should be inserted into an URL.
To be more precisely: the ID must be read (getValue) from cmi.archive_id and inserted into an URL like that: http://.../archive.php?action=pdf&objectID=ARCHIVE_ID.
Unfortunately I am more of a designer und less of a javascript-maestro (well...I am a javascript-noob to be precisely), therefore I am pretty clueless how to do that. I tried a simple executed action (run Javascript: cpEIGetValue('cmi.archive_id'); and after that open URL http://.../archive.php?action=pdf&objectID=ARCHIVE_ID), but...well...that didn't work.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot in advance

Think you'll find help looking at Jim Leichliter's website:
http://captivatedev.com/
He has great tutorials about JavaScript and also a widget that allows to enter a variable in URL's

• How to calculate average if some of measure values are 0

Hi
I created a webI report on top of a Bex query, I have a more than 10 different measure in WebI report column on which i need to calculate average.
If I use the Average function provided with in WebI report it is calculating average for the measures which are having 0 values too, but i need to calculate average on a column only for those values which are not 0
Ex: Measure Quantity has values in the report like
100
100
0
100
100
Average function is calculating as 400/5
but I need 400/4, because one of the value is 0, so i need to avoid that count which is zero and should divide it by 4 but not 5.
One way is to custom create measure for all measures and make a if else condition and divided by that custom measure, but is there any other procedure?

i hope this can help
=Average([myMeasure]) Where ([myMesyre] <> 0)
good luck

• How to calculate Average of Keyfigure

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement where I have to calculate average of key figure value for 1 material.
I tried using 'Average' in exception Aggregation but it just sums up everything.
Can anyone please explain?
Thanks

Hi
1. Include the key figure you want to average into the columns; call it KF1
2. Create a Formula; call it CTR1, and in the detail view put a 1. (This 1-value is not used except to avoid an error in the formula syntax checker.) On the Aggregation tab, choose Exception Aggregation: Counter for all Detailed Values, and for the Ref. Characteristic, choose the same characteristic as the lowest level characteristic in the initial view of the output. E.g. if you only have 0CALMONTH in the output, choose 0CALMONTH. When you run this, the total at the bottom of this column should be equal to the number of rows in that column. Note that we use Exception Aggregation here so that the total at the bottom is calculated before the output is generated and is available to other formulas in the query design; if we were to use the Calculation tab it would look the same to us in that the total would appear at the bottom, but the calculation would occur too late for us to use within the query.
3. Create a second formula, call it AVG1. The formula will be:
SUMGT KF1 / SUMGT CTR1
SUMGT accesses the Overall Result value at the bottom of the KF1 and CTR1 columns. You can find the SUMGT function in the Data Functions folder - turn on technical names first; the description is Overall Result. You could instead use SUMRT; the difference is that SUMGT will use the filters applied in the filter block; SUMRT will ignore them.
3. Run the query. You should see the Average in every cell in the Average column. You can use this formula as input to another formula, or just use ( SUMGT KF1 / SUMGT CTR1 ) within a formula to access the average value.
Thanks

• How to disable the run-time popup menu in the sequence display on TestStand Operator Interface, that allow the use to skip the test?

How to disable the run-time popup menu in the sequence display on TestStand Operator Interface, that allow the use to skip the test?

Hello,
Regarding the skip/force pass/force fail options, when I set the ControlExecFlow to True in Teststand 3.1 and 3.5, in the Sequence Editor the menu options for skip/force pass/force fail are not active for Technician but, when I launch the Operator Interface logged with Technician the options are active. The problem is that if the technician sets one step to one of these options, and change the user to Operator, the test step remains skip/force pass.
Is there any possibility without modifying the Operator Interface (at programming level), to reload default values of the steps when changing the user to Operator?
Thank you,
Best regards,

• How the idoc interfaces works..

Hi...
When we design a interfaces using Idocs... what is the actual process so that data get updated in SAP..
I want to know the flow of the process...
I have created Idoc structure in the system....but how the data will get into this...and from Idoc what makes the data to get updated into system....
Just few lines will be helpfull..

Hi,
An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
1) Outbound Process
2) Inbound Process
There are basically two types of IDOCs.
1) Basic IDOCs: Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
2) Extended IDOCs: Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
For creating a IDOC
see the below steps for outbound processing IDOCS..
1. Analyse Hierarchy Levels
2. Create New segment
3. Create New IDoc Type
4. Create New Message Type
5. Link Message with IDoc Type
6. Create an entry in EDP13 via transactions WE20 and BD64
7. Populate the Custom IDoc via ABAP Program
7b Error Handling
7c. Send Status Email
8. Test the Population of the Custom IDoc
Step 1 – Analyse Hierarchy Levels:
Analyse the data relationships being processed in the interface. Define the appropriate hierarchical Parent-to-Child relationships.
Navigate to transaction code WEDI
Transaction WEDI displays the IDOC main menu. This allows navigation around the various development and control areas to create a customised IDOC.
Step 2 – Create a new segment:
via wedi : Development - IDOC Segments or Transaction code WE31.
• Enter segment name and click on Create.
name of the segment type must start with Z1 , and have a maximumThe of eight characters.
• Enter description and enter the relevant field names and data elements.
The segment should represent a structure in the program so each field in the segment a field name and a data element must befor defined.
• Save the segment and enter Person Responsible and Processing Person .
• Go to Edit and Set Release.
• Repeat this procedure for each new Segment in the IDOC.
Step 3 – Create a new IDOC Type
via wedi Development - IDOC Types or Transaction WE30.
• Enter segment name (starting with Z), click on Basic Type and then Create.
• Create as new, enter Person Responsible and Processing Person and enter description.
• On ‘Create Basic Type’ screen decide where segments should be inserted and go to Edit/Create Segment.
• Complete relevant fields in the Maintain Attributes screen:
• From the relevant segments created in Step 2 enter the Segment type and if mandatory segment.
• The Minimum and Maximum number of segments to be allowed in the sequence. (One minimum and one maximum if segment is mandatory).
• The Parent Segment and Hierarchy Level will be automatically created depending on where in the IDOC tree you decided to create that particular segment.
• Repeat this process for each segment needed in the IDOC type, deciding whether to add the next segments at the same level or as a ‘Child’.
• When IDOC created return to initial screen. Go to Edit and Set Release.
• Go to Transaction WE60 to view the IDoc Type you have created.
Step 4 – Create new Message Type
via wedi Development - Message Types or Transaction WE81.
• Display/Change and click on New Entries
• Create a new Message Type and Save.
Step 5 – Link Message Type to IDOC Type
via wedi Development - IDOC Type/Message or Transaction WE82.
• Display/Change and then click on New Entries.
• Enter Message Type, Basic Type (IDOC Type) and Release (46C) and Save.
Step 6 – Create an entry in EDP13 via transactions WE20 and BD64.
The partner profile for the Idoc must be set up and generated in the transaction BD64 and transaction WE20.
• WE20 – Add Message Type to appropriate Partner Type, Enter Message Type, Receiver Port and Idoc Type and Save.
• BD64 – Create a Model View, Enter Sender and Receiver Ports, Attach Message Type. Go to ‘Environment’ on Menu and click on Generate Partner Profiles and generate (not save) profile.
Step 7 – Populate the custom IDOC via ABAP Program
See Test Program ZOUTBD_IDOC_TEMPLATE, Appendix IV.
• Create an Internal Table for each segment type, this should be exactly the same structure as the segment type.
• The control record is filled into a structure like EDIDC. The message type and the Idoc type for the Idoc must be populated into the eddic structure.
PERFORM populate_Control_structure USING c_mestyp
c_SEGMENT_type1.
• The data segments are filled into a structure like edidd-sdata; sdata and the segment name are populated into the edidd structure.
PERFORM transfer_Parent_data_to_seg.
• The standard SAP function module MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE is called to pass the populated IDOC to the ALE Layer.
PERFORM master_idoc_distribute.
• NOTE: This function module is only called for stand alone programs and Shared Master Data programs (SMD). It is not called when using extensions or output determination.
• The ALE Layer handles the sending of the IDOC to the receiving system.
• Error Handling (see Step 7b).
• Commit work.
Project SpecificStep 7b – Error Handling
• Analyse which fields in the interface are mandatory for the receiving system and who needs to receive error notification.
• Declare a structure of type ‘MCMAILOBJ’ for sending instructions.
• Enter values for the internal table based on structure ‘MCMAILOBJ’
• For selection processes, on SY-SUBRC checks and where fields are mandatory for the receiving system; insert Function Module ‘MC_SEND_MAIL’.
• Enter values in the following parameters: -
MS_MAIL_SENDMODE = ‘B’ (Batch Mode)
MS_MAIL_TITLE = 'Mail Title'
MS_MAIL_DESCRIPTION = ‘Error description’ (e.g. MATNR not given)
MS_MAIL_RECEIVER = ‘Name of Receiver’ (To be determined)
MS_MAIL_EXPRESS = ‘E’ (Express Delivery)
MS_MAIL_DLINAME = Leave Blank
MS_MAIL_LANGU = 'E' (Language)
MS_MAIL_FUNKOBJ_NAME = Leave Blank
TABLES
MS_MAIL_CONT = I_MCMAILOBJ
Note:
It has to be determined separately for each interface how these errors and mail notifications are to be grouped – dependant upon the number of errors that are potentially likely. One possible approach is to send an email for each reason for rejection and include all the records that failed for that reason in the mail notification. Another possible approach is to send an email for every failure.
When error checking for mandatory fields it is common SAP practice to reject a record on its first failure (irrespective of subsequent errors in that record)
Step 7c – Send status mail
• Append to table I_MCMAILOBJ details of the time the interface was processed, how many Idocs were created and how many of these produced a status of 03.
• Select the user to receive the mail from ZINT_RECEIVER, using the name of the program as a key (SY-CPROG).
• Use function Module ‘MC_SEND_MAIL’ to send a mail to the user containing the contents of I_MCMAILOBJ at the end of the interface processing.
Step 8 – Test the population of the custom IDOC
via wedi IDoc - Display IDoc or Transaction WE02.
• Enter your message type and execute.
• Status should be green, double click on one of the Idocs you have created to view its contents.
• If a problem has occurred click on Status which will give you a description of the error.
• Drop down Data Records arrow and this should list the data in the IDoc in the correct hierarchical structure.
• Click on each individual segment and view the content to check that the correct data has been read.
• If you have UNIX access by using AL11 you can view the file that you have created.
Note:
For some interfaces it may be valid to send an empty file to SAP. This empty file is converted to the custom IDOC format expected by SAP. This custom IDOC will contain dummy information. In the inbound processing code, if the dummy information is identified then the processing of the IDOC is considered to be complete and the IDOC should then be assigned a successfully processed status of 53, even though it has not been processed at all.
hi,
2.2 Inbound Interface
Follow steps 1 to 5 inclusive as detailed above in outbound interface.
Step 6
Write a custom function module to handle custom inbound processing. This custom function module must
• Check for the correct message type
• Read the IDoc data segment
• Perform data conversion and validate the data as appropriate
• Post the data to the database
• Handle any error situations
• Set the correct return values for the status record
Note that the Function Module must not make a commit to the database. This is because the status record is not written until control returns to the ALE layer. So if you commit work in the Function Module and an error occurs in returning to the ALE Layer, the status record must not be updated with a successful outcome.
The commit work is executed in the ALE Layer after the status records are updated, via the standard SAP function module IDOC_INBOUND_PROCESS. This attributes of this function module are set up in (Transaction BD51), click on ‘New Entries’ and fill in data; the main input parameters being ‘Input Type’ and ‘Dialog Allowed’.
Take care as some standard SAP transactions contain a Commit Work as part of their processing. Therefore using a BDC to process inbound data to SAP may not be acceptable. You need to check that the SAP transaction is ALE enabled.
Step 7
(Transaction WE57)
Assign the custom function module to the IDoc type and the message type.
Set function module to type ‘F’ and direction ‘2’ for inbound.
Step 8
(Transaction WE42)
Create a new process code and assign it to the function module. The process code determines how the incoming IDoc is to be processed in SAP.
Step 9
(Transaction BD67)
Assign the function module to the process code created above. Got to ‘New Entries’ and enter the process code and the function module name.
Step 10
(Transaction WE20 and Transaction BD64)
Create a partner profile for your message and ensure that in transaction WE20 the process code is the one that points to your function module. (See step 6 of creating Outbound Idocs).
Step 11
Ensure that error handling functionality is present.
