How to access req parameter

i have included in the request one object....
i wud like to access that obj in my jsp
what i am doing is
<td><bean:message key="app.username" /></td>
<td><input type="text" name="username" value=request.getAttribute("employees").getUsername() /> </td>
bt i am nt getting the results
thanks

You would also need a cast of the request attribute to whatever type is being retrieved.
value = "<%= ((Employee)request.getAttribute("employees")).getUsername() %>"
of course using EL this expression would be merely
${employees.username}

  • Ref Cursor - how to access through parameter name

    Hi,
    I'm using the below table and sample data. The below script named 'Script1' works well, my concern is values for the first and second parameters need to be used for the thrid and fourth one as well.
    When I try with 'Script2' it gives "ORA-01008: not all variables bound ORA-06512: at line 17" error. I know Paramterized cursor can handle this effecively, since it is a dynamic SQL, I need to use from a parameter table, I don't have any control over the number of parameteters, parameter name, type and other things. So, I cannot go for parameterized cursor.
    As of now, for my requirement, Script1 works fine, is there any way to make Script2 to work as well, I need to pass paramters by name, not by position, please give your suggestions, thank you.

    You can use this code...
    String current_value=null;
    OracleCallableStatement st1=null;
    try {
    String stmt = "begin xxfwk_emp_create(:1,:2,:3,:4,:5); end;";
    OADBTransaction oadbTransaction1 = am.getOADBTransaction();
    st1 =(OracleCallableStatement)oadbTransaction1.createCallableStatement(stmt,1);
              st1.setNUMBER(1,getEmployeeId());//or you can use st1.setInt(1,getEmployeeId())
              st1.setString(2,getFirstName());
              st1.setString(3,getLastName());
    st1.setNUMBER(4,getSalary());
              //Define Out parameter...
    st1.registerOutParameter(5,OracleTypes.VARCHAR);
         st1.executeUpdate();
              //Access out parameter value
         current_value=st1.getString(5);
    catch (SQLException s) {
    throw new JboException(s);
    finally {
    try {
    if (st1 != null) st1.close();
    catch (SQLException s) { }

  • How to start microsof access with parameter through runtime.exec

    Hi,
    I try to start access with parameter like this:
    String[] cmd = new String[4];
    cmd[0] = "C:\\Programme\\Microsoft Office\\OFFICE11\\MSACCESS.EXE";
    cmd[1]= "C:\\MyDB.mdb ";
    cmd[2] = "/cmd";
    cmd[3] = "parameter1 parameter2";
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    Process proc = rt.exec(cmd);
    However the access mdb startet but it seems not to take the parameter i want to put in to access.
    Have anyone an Idea, what is wrong here?
    Thanks

    Hi
    What do you expect Access to do?
    The /cmd command line option sets the value that is returned by VBA Command function (see http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa211469(office.11).aspx).
    If you want to start a macro, you would need the /x switch (see http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access/HA101666051033.aspx).
    Hope this helps

  • How to access a value from "List of Values" by giving a name?

    I have a "List Of Values" defined in my BI Report. It comprises list of label-value pairs.
    I have defined a parameter :p_Value for the above "List Of Values" defnition. this parameter is used in datasource sql defnition to filter the query results. I configured a template which has a table that shows all the parameters used for filtering query results. If I give <?$p_Value?> in the template then the parameter value is rendered on it. But I want the "name" of the parameter and not the value. Can anybody tell me how to access name of the parameter which refers to one of value in "List of Value" defnition?

    option 1:
    Can you get the value from the DB in the report sql ?
    You have the code, inside the report query, if you can get the decoded value form that
    option2:
    create another paramater, LOV and query, and make it as hidden, and use the first :param_1_value in the lov query in the second param and decode the value.
    Now , you can refer the :PARAM_2_value in template which will have decoded value.

  • AS3: How to access and control embedded sounds in an external swf?

    I rarely use sounds in AS3/Flash. I am using Flash Pro CS6, but I can't seem to figure out how to access, control (play, stop, etc) sounds embedded in an external SWF loaded into the main SWF.
    It's easy to control them when embedded on the main swf. However, on an externally loaded SWR, I get all kinds of errors. For this app, I really need to embed them in the external SWF.
    I read several solutions, but none seem to work.
    I embed the sound an mp3 file called soundSegment1.mp3 using Flash CS6 import tool and then open the actionscript properties panel on flash to select the class name: SoundSegment1. Then I edit the class code and create a file called SoundSegment1.as and it's saved right next to my document class main.as in the same directory. The code of the SoundSegment1 class looks like this:
    package  {
        import flash.media.*;
        public class SoundSegment1 extends Sound
            public function SoundSegment1 ()
                // no code in here
            public function playSound()
                var soundSegment1:Sound = new SoundSegment1();
                var channel:SoundChannel = soundSegment1.play();
    Then, in my main.as, I have done several attempts to play this sound such as:
    var fileLocation:URLRequest = new URLRequest(SWFToLoad); loader.load(fileLocation); loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, progressListener); loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, completeListener); loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.INIT, initListener);
    function initListener(e:Event):void // I also placed this code on the completeListener and it didn't work {      loader.content.soundSegment1.playSound(); // doesn't work.  }
    I get:
    Line XXX 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method playSound through a reference with static type flash.display:DisplayObject.
    or, I also read that I should be able to do something like this anywhere in the Main.as file:
    var theClass:Class = Class(loader.content.getDefinitionByName("SoundSegment1")); var theSound:theClass = new theClass(); theSound.play()  //doesn't work either.
    I also tried on the completeListener:
    var TheClass:Class = e.target.applicationDomain.getDefinition("SoundSegment1") as Class; var theSound:TheClass = new TheClass();
    theSound.play()  //doesn't work either.
    I get:
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable SoundSegment1 is not defined. at flash.system::ApplicationDomain/getDefinition()
    I am stuck and I really need to get this to work. I would be genuinely grateful for your help.
    Thank you in advance for any help provided. I really need to get it to work, because I can't simply embed them in the main SWF or load them individually externally one by one.
    Thanks again!

    THANK YOU!
    I think your code may be over my head though. I think you are using an anonymous function which is not something I am familiar with (but I want to learn about if it's useful).
    I also don't know where the classS came from. I see that it's a parameter sent along with the event, but I don't really see where that came from.
    Someone at: http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?305098-Playing-a-embedded-sound-in-an-external- swf&p=2658098#post2658098
    Is showing what seems to be an easier solution, but my problem there is I can't access the source file of the "child" swf....  ayayay.....
    I am going to tinker with your solution and see if it gets me anywhere. Thanks so much for your help again.

    Since this is a synchronous interface, where source is a soap(proxy) call and target is JDBC in the first mapping both of them are request scenarios.
    Source Structure:
    RootNode
        Request             1...unbounded
           No_of_Days   1.1 String
    Target Structure:
    RootNode
       Statement
         TableName
             Action mapped to SQL_QUERY
            Access -  SELECT DISTINCT AL.EC_NO,DP.DATE_TO_FORMAL FROM T_APPLICATION_LIST AL,(SELECT DE.EC_NO AS "EC_NO", DE.PACKAGE_NO AS "PACKAGE_NO",PC.DATE_TO_FORMAL AS "DATE_TO_FORMAL" FROM DAICYO_ECNO DE,PACKAGECTL PC WHERE DE.PACKAGE_NO = PC.PACKAGE_NO AND PC.DATE_TO_FORMAL > (TRUNC(SYSDATE) - to_number('$No_Of_DAYS$'))) DP WHERE AL.EC_NO IN  (SELECT EC_NO FROM DAICYO_ECNO WHERE PACKAGE_NO IN (SELECT PACKAGE_NO FROM PACKAGECTL WHERE DATE_TO_FORMAL > (TRUNC(SYSDATE) - to_number('$No_Of_DAYS$')))) AND (AL.FAMILY = ''  or  '' is null and AL.FAMILY is not null ) and DP.EC_NO = AL.EC_NO ORDER BY DATE_TO_FORMAL

    In Return I am expecting a JDBC response from the Oracle Database as:

           EC_NO                        1..1   String
    Target Structure:

  • How to capture the parameter in webdynpro application?

    Hi ,
    We have a requirement like this :
    the scenario is :
    user will get a mail to  inbox(here mail is coming from SAP Workflow) saying that :"proposal is waiting for your approval".for details please click on the below link:
    once user clicks on the link it has to open up the webdynpro application and has to display the details of the particular proposal no.
    how to pass the proposal no to the webdynpro application URL and how to capture the proposalno in webdynpro java?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Pavani

    From the workflow when you create the link, also add the proposal number as an url parameter.
    For example if the url for requesting WD application is <WD_URL>, then URL with parameter would be
    <WD_URL>?PROPOSAL_NO=<actual_proposal_number>
    In the webdynpro, you can access this parameter with the following piece of code(ideally in wdDoInit of component controller).
    String proposalNo = WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter().getRequestObject().getParameter("PROPOSAL_NO");

  • How to access java method in JSP

    Hi all,
    I need to access java class (abstract portal component) method doContent() in a JSP which is under PORTAL-INF/jsp folder.
    I did
    <%@ page import = "com.mycompany.Aclass" %>
    <%com.mycompany.Aclass a = new com.mycompany.Aclass (); %>
    Aclass is coming as autofill/prepopulated with cntrl+space
    Till this time, it is working. no errors. But when I do
    a.
    a. (a dot) no methods are populating (autofill..cntrl+space) or If I forcebly add method a.doContent(req,res)... at runtime its giving error.
    It's not only with doContent method... Its with any simple methods in that class or any other class.
    (Other than doContent method in the APC java class are prepopulating/autofilling but giving error in runtime)
    Can anyone help me... how to access java method in JSP.
    I already gone through many SDN forum post... and implemented too---but no use I refered below forum thread
    Retrieve values from Java class to JSP
    URGENT! How to call a java class from JSP.
    Calling a java method from jsp file -
    this thread is same as my issue
    Thanks,

    1st. The classes must be in packages. 2nd, the package that they are in must be under the WEB-INF/classes directory. 3rd Look on google and/or this site for web application deployment

  • How to use JMSReplyTo parameter in ALSB

    Hallo all,
    Background: I am sendind an xml message to ALSB via a JMS Queue. I set the JMSReplyTo header parameter to a spcific queue where I want the Service Bus to send the response. I have the following problem:
    I want to perform some conditional processing with ALSB depending on which is the queue I have in the JMSReplyTo parameter but I am not able to access that parameter with ALSB. I am able to access other JMS header parameter (accessing them using the xquery editor) but that parameter is not even present!
    If I save the JMS message I get in the queue I can see that the param is there but set as follow:
    <mes:JMSReplyTo>
    <mes:Destination applicationName="pgw2JmsSysModule" moduleName="" name="pgw2JmsSysModule!pgw2testQueue" serverName="pgw2JmsServer" />
    </mes:JMSReplyTo>
    How am I supposed to use it?
    Thanks,

  • How to create a parameter id on screen element

    How to create a parameter id on screen element
    reply urgent

    Hi Madan,
    Check this info.
    Parametere Id is the one which holds the memory for the particular field. when we need to pass the the field from one screen to another use the parameter Id.
    The SAP Memory is a user-specific memory area of the application server, which is accessed by all main sessions of a user session at once. ABAP programs have access to SPA/GPA parameters stored in the SAP Memory (also called SET/GET parameters).
    Eg. Of  how to use Set parameter
    you can give value of variable (dobj) to parameter ID 'pid'. This will store value in SAP memory
    SET PARAMETER ID pid FIELD dobj.
    When you want to use that value stored in SAP memory
    you can use GET parameter.
    GET PARAMETER ID pid FIELD dobj.
    To fill the input fields of a called transaction with data from the calling program, you can use the SPA/GPA technique. SPA/GPA parameters are values that the system stores in the global, user-specific SAP memory. SAP memory allows you to pass values between programs. A user can access the values stored in the SAP memory during one terminal session for all parallel sessions. Each SPA/GPA parameter is identified by a 20-character code. You can maintain them in the Repository Browser in the ABAP Workbench. The values in SPA/GPA parameters are user-specific.
    ABAP programs can access the parameters using the SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETER statements.
    To fill one, use:
    SET PARAMETER ID <pid> FIELD <f>.
    This statement saves the contents of field <f> under the ID <pid> in the SAP memory. The code <pid> can be up to 20 characters long. If there was already a value stored under <pid>, this statement overwrites it. If the ID <pid> does not exist, double-click <pid> in the ABAP Editor to create a new parameter object.
    To read an SPA/GPA parameter, use:
    GET PARAMETER ID <pid> FIELD <f>.
    This statement fills the value stored under the ID <pid> into the variable <f>. If the system does not find a value for <pid> in the SAP memory, it sets SY-SUBRC to 4, otherwise to 0.
    To fill the initial screen of a program using SPA/GPA parameters, you normally only need the SET PARAMETER statement.
    The relevant fields must each be linked to an SPA/GPA parameter.
    On a selection screen, you link fields to parameters using the MEMORY ID addition in the PARAMETERS or SELECT-OPTIONS statement. If you specify an SPA/GPA parameter ID when you declare a parameter or selection option, the corresponding input field is linked to that input field.
