How to apply one animation to play 30 different images?

I'm brand new to Edge Animate and I'm struggling to find the answer to this.
I have an image that comes on to the screen from the left, then stops, then user clicks a button and the image exits stage right and next image needs to come on from stage left and do the exact same thing; user clicks same button as before, new image exits stage right and next image comes in stage left.
This is repeated 30 times for 30 different images of drinks, so instead of animating every image is there a way to code it so i can get each image to automatically come on next after the user has clicked the button and the current image has exited?
It's probably really straight forward but I just can't figure it out!

Here is how I would do it but this is just me! Smarter people do other things.
do no use the main timeline
make one symbol with an out transition and an in transition of an empty div the size of your image or put the image in.
add labels in and out
if your images are all the same size you can load them in the same div as a background image or change your image to img instead of div a load the images
load your images on a click event and play the symbol's labels

How do I display call out accessories with different images?

I need some help with an app I'm developing. I'm displaying a map with an array of annotations.
I have managed to display the map & annotations successfully.
What I want to do next is have call out accessories that display different images everytime they are tapped.
Can anyone help with this? I have managed to display a right call out accessory but I'm getting stuck here & I don't know how to get my code to display images.
Any help wil be greatly appreciated!

baltwo: Thanks for the tip, I didn't know how easy it was to set up custom icons in OS X. In this case it's a difficult solution because it will have to be done by hand for every single folder, which is a problem if I'm going to have these in two places. I'm new to Automator but there doesn't seem to be a way to have it; 1) Select all the folders in a directory. 2) Copy the first image in each folder to the clipboard and have it use that image as each folder's icon.
Barney-15E: I know it sounds moronic, but yes. I've tried iPhoto but it's not a very good solution in this case. My folder structure is like this:
Root -> 282 image folders with 10 to 60 pictures in each.
All I really need is the ability to see at a glance what each image folder has without opening each individual folder. The folders are numbered sequentially (1-282 in this case) rather than by proper names, so this is the most efficient way.

How to apply same Animation to different Objects?

So, as the question stated, I am trying to animate multiple objects in the scene with the same animation.
For example, I have a SQUARE and a CIRCLE in the scene, both of them in different layers. I want them to both scale from 0% to 120%, then back to 90%, and finally to 100%. What I do is going in the SQUARE "scale" section and add keyframes to the time I want each elements (percentage) to be at. When done, the SQUARE works perfectly (scaling from 0>120>90>100 percent). Then, I copy and paste the keyframes I use with the SQUARE to the CIRCLE, which gives me the same animation as the SQUARE (0>120>90>100 percent). But when I want to make changes to both of them, I need to change each keyframes in each objects (SQUARE and CIRCLE) one by one...
Having only two objects in the scene isn't bad, but I have around 30 objects that needs to be animated exactly the same... so changing them one by one is pretty time-consuming.
So, the question is, is there a way where I can easily apply a type of animation (scaling 0>120>90>100, and adjustable afterwards) to different objects (SQUARE, CIRCLE, etc.) in my composition without doing it one by one?
This might be a stupid question, but I'm new with After Effects so this is quite complicated for me...

Several ways, parenting and expressions.
Parenting: Create a small solid or a null object that will be 'controlling' the other layers. Parent the CIRCLE and the SQUARE to it (to achive this, in the Parent column of the Composition Panel, select the name of the controlling layer or directly pickwhip the layer).
Once done, when you scale/rotate/move the controlling layer the parented layers transform accordingly. It doesnt affect opacity.
Be aware that parenting modifies the values you see in the Composition panel for each of these properties (scale/rotation/position) for each of the parented layers. This is because the transform properties are now expressed in the coordinate system of the parent layer, and not in the one of the comp. Modifying the transform properties of the parented layers tranform these layers relatively to the controlling one.
Expressions: You can enter expressions in the transform properties of your layers. For instance, if your controlling layer is named 'controller', alt+click the stopwatch of the property 'Scale' of the SQUARE for instance and enter this in the expression box:
thisComp.layer("controller").transform.scale;
Now when you scale the controller, the SQUARE scales accordingly. It works for any property.
Note that since the expression doesnt refer to the property's own keyframes, those keys are now ignored. To refer to the property's own key value in an expression, use simply 'value'. For instance:
s = thisComp.layer("controller").transform.scale/100;
[s[0]*value[0], s[1]*value[1]];
The possibilities are pretty much infinite.

How to apply one exact menubar for multiple pages?

I have a sidebar witch repeat itself over 7 other pages.
If I come to neccesary to edit one or few components in sidebar's content, I have to cross all seven files and edit each individually.
I came to conclusion that it would be much more confortably to have this sidebar in such manner which creates sidebar's modifications to all other files, after it's changed in one of them.
Just how?
Create it as seperated file and then, in some way, embed it into others? ("Just how?" once again)
Any suggestions will be appreciated...

Have a look at using a server side include (SSI).
If I get what you mean, you put your HTML in a seperate file and call it say, navigation.php and then you can put a php include where you want the navigation in the page. For php you would need to ensure that it is available on your server and you need to use .php for your file extensions.
It's really easy to do. Once you crack it, you can use php includes for other consistent elements of your page like say, your footer and header. You do need to pay attention to links used in the include file because if you change the folder the page is in that calls the include file, the links might end up pointing to the wrong place.
Once you're set up, you can easily edit the navigation.php code and it will update wherever you have that php include. I can only do it with PHP but this technique is available with other flavours.

I'm using FrameMaker 8 on Windows.
I'm trying to create a character tag that marks certain paragraphs so they're easier to find later. The only thing I want to change is the color. I want all the other attributes, regardless of the paragraph tag, to remain as they are.
Here's what I've done:
First, I highlighted the text to be changed. The text in this paragraph had font size 10 and regular weight.
I selected New Format from the Commands menu, named it "Rewrite" and added it to the catalog.
In the Character Designer, I set the size and weight to "As is", selected the new color, and clicked "Apply".
So far, so good - the text is the same as before in every way except the color.
Later, I wanted to mark some other text with this character tag. This text was in a paragraph that had a font size of 14 and bold weight. I highlighted the text and applied the "Rewrite" character tag. I was expecting to see the highlighted text change color, but remain the same otherwise.
However, instead of changing only the color, the character tag changed the font size to 10 and the weight to regular. It seems that, when I created the character tag and selected "As is" for the font size, this was interpreted as meaning, "Use the font size that is currently defined in this paragraph tag as the font size for this character tag." Sure enough, when I looked at the character Designer, the size was set to 10 and the weight to regular, instead of "As is" for both.
Am I misunderstanding how to use "As is?" How can I get it to work the way I want it to?

CAVEAT: I'm working from memory, and this may work differently in later releases.
To create a completely As Is character format, deselect all text before using the character designer. The "SeSet the values for the properties you want in the format. Click Create, or Update All.
To make it work without problems, select all the text in a paragraph, but don't select the paragraph mark, then apply the character format to the selection. Applying a character format to the paragraph mark confused earlier FM releases - not sure if it's still true in later releases.

How to remove flickering in a animation done by loading different image files

Hello Everyone,
I have done a character animation by loading multiple images one after another at runtime or dynamically by accessing files from there path directly.
But the problem I am facing is, I am getting a white bg or delay when the images change, it kind of feels like the images are flickering. How can I get rid of this flicker.

When loading images from a server during runtime you can never be sure that there will be no delay.
What you could do is write a function, that checks with a progress Event how much of the next picture is loaded and base the percentage of the current pictures alpha channel on this figure.
Say the progressEvent from your Loader returns a number like 0.1....1.0 (10%...100% of the next picture are loaded)
Then in an eneterframe you could use that number to modify the current Pictures alpha (like img.alpha = 1.0- progress);
A clear disadvantage is, that the tweens will always be different (depending on picture size/network traffic)

How to use one dataTable to dynamically assign different values?

How to execute one sap gui script in different SAP system component versions.

I am having a task to write a script which can be executed in different SAP systems , explained as below.
I have created a script to do password reset for mass users in one system (TC6) & it's working fine. But when i load same script in other system(QR5) to do the same activity , the system unable to execute the same script.
One thing i found that by comparing in the two systems that the screen-ids in QR5 system is different than TC6 system.
My question
1-> why it is different even though the scripting language is same.
2-> How can i overcome it & make a common script for all the systems.
Please help me to resolve this.

From the above it's clear that the screen IDs in both the systems are different as the program-me name is different for the same TA (SU01) in both the systems.
Now can you please advise how i will go with both to handle in one script (I can't put a check condition to call different scripts for the specific systems as in my landscape there are more that 100 systems).

How to apply a color to a greyscale linked image?

I have an old file that I've been working on that another designer started. She had these black and white linked images in there with colors applied to them. Currently, you can click on them with the direct selection tool and see the color that is applied in the "fill" box on the toolbar. But when I tried to place that same image into the document myself, there is no option to apply a color. What did she do to make it possible to apply these colors? I'm using Indesign CS6, by the way.

Thanks for your responses, but I'm still stuck with my same problem. I should have explained better - what I really need to do most here is relink the exact same file that the old designer was already using. I've moved files around and now the linked needs to be relinked. When I relink the exact same file that was working fine with the color applied before, I run into the same problem again. I cannot direct-select it and change the color of it. It's just not an option. This also happens if I create a new InDesign file and place that file in and try to do it fresh. She did something to that file to make it take a color, but I can't figure out what it might be!
Maybe some visuals will help me to explain...
This is the problem layer below. Let's call it "background". It's at 100% opacity, layer effect set on multiply in BOTH examples.
Here's how I want it to look. There are a few layers in here to create this effect. When I click on "background" with the selection tool, I do not see a color applied. However, if I click on it with the direct selection tool, you can see that a yellow color has been applied.
Now, when I relink the file (or place it myself), this is the result I get. You can see that "background" has reverted back to its greyscale state. When I try to select it once more with the direct selection tool, all the colors are greyed out and I can't apply a color.
Anyone know the answer to this puzzle?

I was trying to re-name my videos and I guess I selected the wrong task on the menu and now when I play the video I tried to re-name it plays the video I played after I tired to re-name it. Any help plz, I don't want to lose these videos. Thank You!!!

How to apply random "random seed" value to multiple images

So, I am in a weird situation, have been surfing the net for the solution for over a day now and can't really find the solution.
What is it?
Its a small school project which I have chosen and cant really find a way to do it.
What I want to achieve?
I have an image and I want to have like 50 variations of it.
What I did?
I loaded up an image, recorded an action which applies the filter called "Wave", the the wave dialog box I selected Minimum and Maximum range for values.
Problem I am having:
I made 50 copies of the same image, and then I applied the action via batch processing to these 50 images. However, it applies the exact same settings/values which I recorded. It doesnt really use the range i.e maximum and minimum values I selected in the wave dialog box. It looks like when I closed hte wave dialog box, the action creates a new value called "Random seed" when recording and perhaps this random seed number tells photoshop what to choose from the min and max range supplied by the user.
So is there any way so that when I run the action, it will pick up a new random value from the supplied min and max range?

In all probability the Filter can be Scripted and JavaScript can provide (pseudo-)random values, so you may also want to ask over at

Additionally a Script could handle the creation and naming of the copies.

Animated gif plays only once

I am using Captivate 5.5 on a Windows machine. I inserted an animated gif into my Captivate, using insert > animation... Then, I inserted a button. When I pressed F4 to preview the animation, it played only once. I put a check mark on the loop on the timing of the properties of the animation. Still, it played only once. It stopped when the play head stoped moving. I cannot make the animated gif play continuously. Does anybody know how to make the animated gif play continuously?

Yopu can rename "buylink", but you have to make sure you rename all instances or it will kill the script.
If you're not comfortable incorporating that, unfortunately, the other option would be to create a Flash animation and put a button in the last frame.
That would be just as difficult (if not worse) as writing (or tweaking) a javascript to delay the hotspot, and even worse because it would be invisible to phone users. Additionally, people who disable javascript would never see the link if you did add the script.
There isn't any way to do this with HTML or CSS, and you now know the flaws with the methods that will work.
