How to apply temple to different standard layouts

I'm trying to determine best design way of doing the following on a new site:
I wish to create a template with top banner and bottom footer. Then I would like to apply the template to the standard dreamweaver pages created by File>>>New.
This is what I have done unsuccessfully so far. I have created a new 1 column fixed, centered, header and footer HTML page. I have inserted my banner in the Header and adjusted margins and padding in the Header. I then created an editable region at <div id=" maincontent">. I then saved this document as a dwt.
So far so good. I then created a new HTML 1 column fixed, centered, header and footer HTML and applied the previous template. Perfect.
I then repeated the process of applying my original template to a new 2 column fixed, left side bar, header and footer.. The left side bar was lost in translation. I have repeated this process multiple times varying which document I would start with.
Nothing worked and its clear to me that I'm missing one or more big concepts here. Can someone point me in the right direction. Sorry if this the the wrong posting group. I'm new to this but can learn. Thanks. M

There are two ways you could have done this:
Used FILE | Save As, browsed into the Templates folder and saved the file with a *.dwt extension
Used FILE | Save As Template
Which did you use? The first is wrong and will not work. The second is the only way you should do this.

The best way to do what you want is to START with the template, and use FILE | New Page From Template to create the child pages. Applying a template to a page with existing content is going to make you nuts - it can be done, but you have to really understand how templates work to do it. Nevertheless, if you have a page with content and you want to bring that page into a template's control, the BEST way to do would be to spawn a new child page from the template, copy and paste content from the original page into the new child page, and then save the new child page with the old page's name.

Right-click on a toolbar, then click on the "Menu Bar" entry to de-select it. That will hide the menu bar and bring back the Firefox button.

How to apply metrics for different platform

Hi,
If a metric has different code for different platform, or the metric only runs on some specific type of system, how can we apply it to a group of hosts?
For example, I have a metric that checks only Sun T3 types of systems. I can create a group of hosts that are T3 type system, but how do I apply the metric to this group?
The other example is the way to collect data is different for Soaris and Linux platform, can I have 2 metrics, one apply to the group of Solaris machines, and the other apply to the group of Linux machines?

Hi,
You can use EM groups and monitoring templates to accomplish what you want to do. For example, create a group for Solaris hosts and a template to push out appropriate metric settings for the group.

How to apply Excel formula in BPS layout

Hi ,
   I need to apply the following logic in my BPS layout.
There are three data columns called C,D,E respectivelt
redord 1   user input data for all the columns,
Record 2   C2 = D1 + E2.
Record 3   C3 = D2 + E3.
Record n   Cn = D(n-1) + En.
n is the number of record in teh layout.
1: Can we use Excel formula to achive this?
2: If the anser is yes, how can we configure the BPS layout? I am not sure if we can do it at the last step of change layout.
3: If the answer is no, what is the other choice? I have tried to use user exit, but had some problem in passing the data to xth_data table in the orginal order sequence.

How to apply WebApp tags to CSS layout code

Does anyone know how the system render tag code so that tag_fields can be applied to CSS. i.e. we want to use a tag_field to apply colour to color:{tag_color}
The system keeps stripping out the code color:{tag_color}
Does anyone know if it is indeed possible to do this?

Thanks Liam. For colours I was using the most basic of defaults which also acted as labels in the WebApp so 'white', 'yellow' and 'green'. Field type is radio button called 'status'. I tried numerous things:
1. Inline override: <tr class="trcontent" style="color:{tag_status};">
2. DIV wrapped: <tr class="trcontent"><div style="color:{tag_status};">
3. Defined in the stylesheet: <tr class="trcontent">
.trcontent {color:{tag_status};}
In cases 1 and 2, BC strips out the style code which seems odd it would do that, although I can't see that it is greatly different from yours.
In 3 the code is unresponsive for obvious reasons (double curly brackets).
I will try your example above which is a great idea - thanks for sharing.

How Many Installs Allowed/ How To Apply to 3 different Macs?

Since we are no longer dealing with a disc, can you install the new Lion upgrade on 3 different Macs, purchasing only one for the $29.00, or do you have to buy Lion for each individual computer? If you can install onto other Macs with one purchase, how do you install on each individual Mac? Thanks for any advice

You are allooweed up to 5 Macs.
However beware as the installer self distructs on use so you have to clone it *before* you upgrade.
Simply Download from the Applestore and copy the installer to your two other Mac *then* run it.
Make sure you do all the pre-installation checks, upgrades, compatibility checks and backups before you upgrade.

Even iam not sure about it but after looking at your query even i have done some research and got some information for you.
nventory Turnover is a prominent KPI in a lot of businesses. This post will give you some understanding on the concept. In another post I will give details on how the SAP report MC44 can be used to measure inventory turns and what data is used to calculate this ratio.
Formula
Inventory Turnover = Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) / Average Inventory at value
If you are not familiar with the term Cost of Goods Sold, this is the cost of your revenues.
Average Inventory is measured in value and not in volume.
If you divide both elements you know how often you sold youu2019re average inventory. u201CSo what?u201D you ask. I will explain next.
Concept and use
I will present you with two business scenariou2019s to point out the significance of the Inventory Turnover ratio.
Scenario 1
You sell one product. You invest 10.000 EUR as starting stock. You run your business for one year and at then end of the year you are completely sold out. Your revenue accumulates to 12.500 EUR. For simplicity sake your gross profit is 2.500 EUR (12.500 u2013 10.000).
Revenue = 12.500
COGS = 10.000
Average Inventory = 5.000 (10.000 starting stock + 0 end stock / 2 = 5.000 average stock)
Inventory Turnover = 2 (10.000 / 5.000)
ROI = 50% > 2.500 (R-C) earned out of 5.000 (A)
Scenario 2
Again you sell one product. But this time you invest 5.000 EUR in starting stock. After 6 months you sold your stock and you replenish your stock again for 5.000 EUR. After another 6 months youu2019re sold out. Your revenue is again 12.500 EUR. Your gross profit is 2.500 EUR (12.500 u2013 5000 u2013 5000).
Revenue = 12.500
COGS = 10.000
Average Inventory = 2.500 (5.000 starting stock + 0 end stock / 2 = 2.500 average stock)

Execute the Report QA32 and using change layout add the 3 fields which will be in hidden fields box . put it to teh displayed fields box and save the layout.

How to Apply adjustment layers to multiple layers that have different blending modes ...

How to Apply adjustment layers to multiple layers that have different blending modes and keep the colours the same as the adjusment done?
I work in Animation painting Backgrounds. My files are sometimes upwards to 200+ layers.
I will use adjustment layers to quickly balance colours and constrast on top of those many many layers.
The only way that I know of how to apply adjustment layers it to every single layer ( by applying I mean I need to get rid of the adjustment layers because we cant use them in production but i need the new colours be applied to all layers underneath ) in a psd is to manually do it By duplicating the adjusment layer 200+ times and then merging each layer to one of those adjustment layers so that that layer can take the adjustment layers effect permanently.
The issue is that Within Those 200 layers I have some layers set to Multiply or OVERLAY.    IT obviously wont apply the adjustment layer properly to those layers because those layer blend mode affect the layers under them. The colour wont be the same anymore in the spots that had the multiply blended mode.

I have 2 adjustment layers up top. I need to get rid of them by applying them to each layer! I cannot merge any of the layers. We need all those layers for production.
I can apply the adjustment layers manually and this works GREAT for all Layers set to normal. THey take on the colour change just FINE.
However, The issue is that layer 6 and layer 4 are both set to mutiply and this screws up the colour once i apply the adjustment layers to each layer manually...
How can i apply my adjustment layers to a file like this with some layers being set to multiply while keeping the layers exactly the same configuration and The new colour taking efffect exactly how i looks before i apply the adjustment layers?
Now the simple solution is to merge the multiply layers to the layer that it affects HOWEVER I NEED those multiply layers to be seperate!
I'm assuming what I want to do is impossible? Hope this isnt confusing. As far as i know its impossible to do what I want it to do. but just wanted to ask and see.
I would REALLY REALLY love to talk to a adobe programmer/ technician/pro working at adobe about this. Theres just no way to get in touch with anyone... =(

Sure... if you want to put it that way. Either way its not the desirable outcome.
its just frustrating that theres no way to apply adjustment layers to hundreds of layers while keeping them in the same configuration ( blendmodes, layer order , without merging) while keeping the same end result.
works great if all your layers are set to normal though..    But I really need to keep shadow layers seperately and be able to adjust on the fly aswell as apply those adjusment to all my layers.
I suppose that just isnt possible.   I understand the math required for this would be tremendous/ complicated if something like this would ever be implemented. Would be nice if adobe could come up with some solution to this. Its really a huge issue in my work flow and theres no alternatives.    How else can I adjust colours to 100+ layers with a few clicks that lets me play around the the adjustment until im happy with the outcome.    Really wish i could adjust and the quickly apply that adjustment to all my layers regardless of blend mode.   LIke If the Layers with blendmode could somehow take the properties of the adjustment layer and keep adjusting those layers undereathe on top of that blended mode that its doing...

How to apply different CSS styles to different table cells?

I have an h:dataTable table and I would like to apply different CSS styles to different table cells depending on their content. If I were doing JSP I would probably have a <c:if> test on the cells, and give them a style name depending on contents, and then define the styles in a separate style sheet. Is there a way in JSF to do the equivalent? Thanks.

How to Email POWL Reports / Apply Web Dynpro ALV Table Layout Settings

Hi all,
we want to be able to automatically extract POWL reports and email them to users in a batch job.
We can refresh a POWL report using FM POWL_QUERY_REFRESH, and access the raw report data using method CL_POWL_QUERY_ACCESSOR=>GET_CACHED_RESULTS.
However this merely gives us a table of raw data. No view layout (ie. Web Dynpro ALV table layout) settings have been applied, so there is no hiding or arranging of columns, row sorting, calculations or filters.
Ideally we would like to be able to specify a query and view layout. The batch job would then refresh and extract the data, and format the data according to the view layout before sending it on as an attachment in an email.
Does anyone know how to determine and apply Web Dynpro ALV table layout settings to format table data outside of the Web Dynpro environment ?
