How to automatic start Microsoft VDI Clients on Windows Embedded Standard 7

Greetings,
I'm deploy Microsoft VDI for my customer, I use HP Thin Clients with Windows Embedded Standard 7.
when we start the thin clients, we first open the thin client desktop, then open the RDP connetions, and input the ip address to access the virtual desktop.
I think it's very complex for the end users.
I want when we start the thin clients, it automatic connect to the VDI server, we just need to input the username and password to access the users' virtual desktops.
does anybody know how to set it, or if there are some clients tools ?

Hi,
If you work with mstsc.exe (Microsoft Remote Connection client for Windows), you can simply pre-configure a customized connection and save it as a .RDP file. Then, users can open the connection
via double clicking the .RDP file.
In addition, you can create a startup script to run the .RDP file.

So, yesterday, I was turning on Skype on my laptop when it told me that I cannot use Skype anymore and I have to download some other version. I pressed OK and downloaded the desktop version of Skype. Then, when I closed my laptop and today opened it, I found out that my user has been renamed to my Microsoft Account name and the password is the same as on my Microsoft account. I do not want that, because it is not comfortable for me, because I didn't have a password on my original user. I tried everything to turn it off, deleting Microsoft Account, disabling password through Run: netplwiz , but nothing. Please have an answer for me as soon as possible on how to remove the Microsoft Account login from my lock screen and put my original account login in there (that is not a Microsoft Account).Thank you,Thomas_Ber

How To Install Informatica and DAC Client on windows

I had installed Oracle Informatica 8.6.1 and Oracle DAC Server (10.1.3.4.1) on Linux server (RHEl 32 bit)
Now i want to install Informatica and DAC Clients on windows machine.
Where to download the software and in the existing Dump i don't find any install.bat file / client folder as mentioned in some sites.

Hi,
When you have downloaded the informatica software you will get 2 zip files (V20952-01_1of2.zip,V20952-01_2of2.zip). When you Unzip these two files you will find pc861_client_win32_x86.zip file.
Unzip this pc861_client_win32_x86.zip file and browse to this location pc861_client_win32_x86\Client\Disk1\InstData\VM, here you will find install.exe an executable file.This will install informatica client.
For installing DAC browse to this location DAC 10.1.3.4.1\dac\Disk1\install\win32 and there you will find setup.exe executable file. This will install DAC.

Applying Autologin Profile to Windows Embedded Standard 7 Thin Client

I am trying to apply an Autologin account to a Windows Embedded 7 device that already has the FBWF enabled using a post-operating system deployment task sequence. So, basically I have an OS task sequence that installs the OS, CM and SCEP agents, as
well as a couple base applications like Adobe Reader and Flash then enables the FBWF. From there I have this "Autologin Specific" task sequence to apply the specific autologin account as well as a couple applications.
The "Autologin Specific" task sequence applies the autologin registry keys to set it as an autologin user. The task sequence completes, thus enabling the write filter and the computer boots up and logs in as the autologin user, HOWEVER, after any
subsequent reboots a balloon message from the task appears that the user has been logged on with the temporary profile - I believe this is because it can not successfully commit any changes to the protected volume because the FBWB was enabled after the task
sequence completed. I am unable to log the user into the computer during the task sequence because CM puts the computer is in Service Mode (where only the local Administrator can log on - because the Write Filter is disabled).
I have also attempted to run the script to apply the autologin user in the OSD task sequence before enabling the Write Filter for the first time. This does not work because the computer never exits "sysprep" mode and logs the user in before the
script to enable the write filter kicks in.
I do not want my OSD to finish with the Write Filter disabled because if a machine is being imaged at location, there will be a period of time where a user will be able to walk up and log in, before any additional task sequences are run to lock it down.
HP's answer is to use HPDM or basically use command lines to tun the filter off and on. Uh - Not much help here when CM is putting a computer in Service Mode.
Any thoughts?

We do not have Orchestrator implemented in our environment, although it has been discussed. But I do need to have some solution in place rather quickly, so even if that was an option soon, it isn't now.
My resolution:
Omit enabling the Write Filter until after the computer is delivered by the tech. When a tech delivers a thin client to a location, they will do the following.
1. Manually change computer name and add printer.
2. In CM, move computer to collection that:
          A. Has a Required Deployment of a Program (VB script) that is also scheduled to run once a day. The VB Script checks to see if the File-Based Write Filter is enabled. If it is, it closes. If the Filter
is not enabled it enables it, along with our exclusions and the BCD Fixit command, then reboots the computer.
          B. The collection also has a Custom Client Setting for Restart. Since CM puts the thin client in Service mode when deploying applications and other tasks, I want the thin clients to reboot as close to immediately
after the task is done, so users don't have to wait any longer than necessary. The policy is set for Diplay notification for 2 minutes, and Display dialog box for 1 minute.
          C. The collection also updates it membership just prior to the scheduled time to run the VB script.

I need to start a workflow item automatically based upon a table insert. I was hoping to use a trigger, but I could do it from within the application too.
I have a simple workflow itemtype defined in workflow builder. It has several attributes.
I found the pl/sql procedure of LaunchProcess which does
CreateProcess and StartProcess, so I guess I am to use this?
How/where do I populate the attribute values?

You set the attribute values by using the procedures
wf_engine.SetItemAttrText
wf_engine.SetItemAttrNumber
wf_engine.SetItemAttrDate
depending on the datatype of your attribute.
You may also wish to use the procedure
wf_engine.SetItemOwner
to indicate the role that owns the item you are launching.

How to automatically start postfix on boot?

I often need postfix to send e-mail. To use postfix I need to start postfix everytime manually via the Terminal commandline.
I would like to have postfix to be started automatically with booting.
Is this possible in Mac OS X Snow Leopard? How can it be done?

There is already an org.postfix.master.plist file in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons
I had an old copy of Postfix Enabler from http://cutedgesystems.com/ but didn't appreciate having to buy a new program when Leopard came out, so I rolled my own. Here is my edited org.postfix.master.plist:

This will enable you to send mail. You can setup your Mac to receive mail too, but that is a bit more involved.

How to automaticly configure networkaccounts on clients

When i connect a client computer to my open directory i get the message to configure all my services on the computer like ical etc. Al these services will be configured on my local account for example:
My localaccount is: dirkb
My opendirectory account: dirkb
But when i log in on the same machine with a network account i want to have all my services automaticly configured to but that does not happen. I do get the preferences from the workgroup manager right like dock settings etc. but:
- Mail
- Ical
- Adresbook
Are not set up for use. I do know i can set users an e-mail from server preferences to set up those services but is there a way to auto configure these services when the user logs in?

It is possible to get local accounts to be auto configured for Mail/iCal etc. but not network logins. This limitation makes this 'feature' effectively useless. See "Automated Client Configuration" on page 120 of Apple's "Open Directory Admin 10.6" PDF manual and http://arstechnica.com/apple/reviews/2010/01/mac-mini-with-snow-leopard-server-r eview.ars/2
An alternative approach which would require a fair amount of initial work, would be to write a login script which does something like -
1. Check to see if '~/.alreadydone' exists if so exit
2. Using login name, generate matching strings and use defaults command line to add settings to appropriate plist files.
3. touch '~/.alreadydone'
4. exit

How to automatically start chapter on verso?

Hi all,
I'm finding it puzzling to figure this one out...
I have a book document, and the first chapter ends on recto.
The next chapter begins, automatically, on recto as well... I need to to start on verso.
Odd thing is, one chapter in the book is behaving... but I can't figure out why.
What setting controls this?

When you say book dodument most of us see document and presume you are creating a book in one file, a common technique.
Have you synchronized the numbering?
When you go to Book Page Numbering Options from the Book panel flyout menu does the dialog look like this?
When you check the Numbering and Section Options from the Pages panel flyout menu withe first page of your second (and subsequent) chapter(s) does the dialog look like this (your page numbers and chapter number will be different, but it must be set to automatic)?
A failure of your pages to flow properly indicates a problem in one of these areas.

I would like to know if Microsoft has any tool to automate L1 or L2 level of tasks.
Purpose of automation would be get rid of Human errors & reduce the time it takes to complete.
for Example,
1. There is a New joinee in organization, so automation process would be able to do following things:
- Create user's AD Account
- According to his designation, Mailbox Quota would be defined.
- E-mail address generation.
- As per the level of user, access in the Domain & respective sub-domains.
2. Users account got locked out:
- It should send an SMS to user about account lockout.
- And also send OTP (one Time Password) to Reset it.
These two were just examples. There are many more tasks are perform by L1 & L2 Teams.
Looking forward for the Automation process which will help to design such numerous tasks.

Generally, when create a new user in Exchange, the mailbox quota would be set to the default quota in Exchange. The E-mail address would be automatically generated by default Email Address Policy in Exchange. If you want to change every new create user,
we can change the default value in mailbox database level. Or we can use a identified script to set the limitation for new-mailbox cmdlet. For example:
New-Mailbox -UserPrincipalName [email protected] -Alias chris -Database "Mailbox Database 1" -Name ChrisAshton
-Password (ConvertTo-SecureString -String Password01! -AsPlainText -Force)
| Set-Mailbox -ProhibitSendQuota 2097152 -ProhibitSendReceiveQuota 2411520

I have desktop appliaction that installed in client machine. On client machine OS maybe are :Windows, Mac or Linux. When first start my desktop application I want to check is exist jre on client machine. Is this a good solution?

How to enable traffic between VPN clients in Windows Server 2012 R2?

I installed Remote Access role with VPN.
IPv4 Router is enabled: http://snag.gy/UAMY2.jpg
VPN clients should use static ip pool: http://snag.gy/REjkB.jpg
One VPN user is configured to have static ip: http://snag.gy/TWwq0.jpg
VPN server uses Windows Authentication and Windows Accounting.
With this setup, VPN clients can connect to server, get ip addresses and can see server via server's vpn ip. Server can connect to VPN clients too (Using client's vpn ips). But VPN clients can't communicate with each other.
For example, VPN server has ip 192.168.99.5
VPN Client 1 - 192.168.99.6
VPN Client 2 - 192.168.99.7
I am able to ping 192.168.99.5 from both clients, and able to ping 192.168.99.6 and 192.168.99.7 from server via remote desktop. But I am not able to ping 192.168.99.7 from client 1 and 192.168.99.6 from client 2.
If I trace route from 192.168.99.6 to 192.168.99.7 - I can see that packets goes to server (192.168.99.5) and next hop - request timeout.
What else should I configure to allow network traffic between VPN clients?

To better analyze this issue, would you please post the routing tables on the two VPN clients? You can run "route print" at the command prompt to get the routing table.

How not to start Oracle 10g DB when Windows bootup

With Oracle 9i, I could set Oracle DB manually start so it would not start when Windows OS was booted/rebooted. This was done through setting Control Panel -> Admin tools -> Services -> Oracle9iMyDB's Startup type to "Manual".
Now I have 10g installed, same setting does not prevent 10g DB start up at Windows boots.
I have Windows 2000 now for 10g and past for 9i.
Could anyone help?
