Currently, I am testing on multiple moniters and it is defaulting to the moniter designated as the #1 moniter. For our purposes, this is acceptable. Once the two documents have loaded, the user can move and re-size at will.

I am using 2 functions right now, but I don't quite understand what they do.

The main content pane is a table:
table.setPreferredScrollableViewportSize(new Dimension(1024, 650));
But if I set the latter to 1280 X 1024, the window becomes larger than my screen!
How can I get it set to the MAX client window size?
I'm willing to read up on this -- but I can't find that category on Sun's documentation.

How to make website fit any screen size?

I am trying to make my website fits any screen size (desktop, tablet, mobile)
In Dreamweaver cs6, I go to file -multiscreen preview – Media Queries- make a CSS file for (site-wide) and click on the Default Presets and then find my CSS files for phone, tablet and desktop. But it does not work for my website, my site does not respond to the size of desktop, tablet or mobile. Can someone please help? Thank you.

The main rule to follow for a responsive design is be flexible.
That means no rigid dimensions, no absolute positioning and images that respond to the width of their containers.

How to avoid maximal expand of screen size for welcome screen? VmWare prob?

I run Suns Solaris Express Edition for VmWare under WinXP.
When I start Solaris VM everything is fine except the fact that the welcome screen at boot up (= the screen where the user has to enter his login and password) is expanded to approx 2400 x1600 pixel).
I have to use the horizontal scrollbar to get the entry fields for login and password.
After I entered correctly login and password Solaris retrieves the internal correct display size
of 1280 x 960 and shrinks the screen size accordingly.
So again everything is fine from this time except the screen size at the beginning.
Is this an error of VmWare or of Solaris?

I agree that iMovie's still image quality is embarassingly bad and has many bugs.
Even with no Ken Burns, the sharp images tend to flicker on a TV because iMovie doesn't blur them properly.
And as you very well described, iMovie's Ken Burns produces uneasy zooms/pans because the subpixel rendering is, uh, suboptimal.
iMovie's immortal rendering bug when exporting non-Ken Burns'ed images to iDVD/tape doesn't make things any better.
Yes, bicubically downsampling the input images to 640x480 or adding gaussian blur to the megapixel input images takes care of the flicker and uneasy zooms/pans, but as a side-effect the maximal zoom-ins are then TOO blurry.
The best workaround is to use Photo To Movie's higher quality export setting. It has the best quality rendering engine (I recently compared it to Still Life and FotoMagico). Disclaimer: I'm just a satisfied customer of Photo To Movie.

How do you set a default screen size for safari windows to open at ?

Hi guys, I'm running my mac mini through a 50 inch plasma. I really like that safari opens the browser at a size that's just big enough to fit the page you are viewing to; but annoyingly my flatmate keeps changing the window size to full screen. I don't like this and have tried to play around with the settings so that it opesn in a default size every time but have been unable to do so.
If anyone has any suggestions it'd be greatly apreciated as this seemingly stupid problem is realllllly annoying me.

How do I tile 2 (or more) application windows side by side on-screen? I can manually do it by dragging application size to the correct size but is there an automatic way?

Window resizing and how to keep the window at that size.

Having trouble with the applications window not staying the same size after I resize it. I know that dragging the corner will resize as well as the green button, but after I close it, it reverts back the small window and not to the resized window after I have done the above. Went to an apple store and no one there knew how to fix it or maybe I didn't explain myself very well.

I assume you're opening the Applications folder in a separate window through an alias or a Dock icon... if so, just open it, move and resize it the way you want, then immediately close it again. That should do the trick.

How to make browser window full screen after user logs on to EP

I've found some amazing iformation on this forum, I hope I'll get an answer to this one too.
I would like to use the maximum avaialble desktop space to provide info to my client on logging on to the portal so that he need not scroll for any thing.
What I would like to know is if there is any global setting possible within the portal so that once the user is authenticated and is being shown his worksets, he should see the browser window in full screen mode. In IE this is done thru the pressing of F11 key.

You could set the following properties in the Framework page that is being used.
1) Launch in New Window - Display in Separate window
2) Window Features - fullscreen=yes
Upon login this would open the portal page in a new window and set the window in fullscreen mode, (Well Theoretically).

i have just finished my website:
- done with dreamweaver mx and mac
- only html with a menu on the left frame that always stays
the same and pictures on the main/right frame
- haven´t had any trouble opening the website with
safare or internet explorer in my computer.
the problem seems to be that in some PCs, the left menu
doesn´t appear completely, the last 4 lines from the bottom
disappear under the screen and you need to scroll down, which is
not how it´s meant to work.
this might be a silly thing to ask for it´s simplicity
but i can´t seem to make it work. can someone offer some help?

Don't use frames.
The reason for using or not using frames should be based on

needs, and b) your willingness to accept the potential

I am down on frames because I believe that they create many

than they solve.
Judging from the posts here, and the kinds of problems that

the kind of person most likely to elect to use frames is also

arise. If you feel a) that you understand the problems and b)
that you are
prepared to handle them when they occur, and c) that you have
a need to use
frames, then by all means use them.
