How can you avoid this Adobe programme just converting pdf into textboxes which cannot be edited?

When I put, on my Mac, a pdf letter into MS Word for Mac format using the pdf convertor in Adobe, I do get an apparently fine page. However all the text contained in each paragraph is displayed as a separate text box, and the cursor will not enter it except to highlight whole lines.
So editing it is impossible.
I attach a sample.

i have a psd image file in photoshop cc 2014 that has transparent background layer. I wanted it to convert to vector. The best option i saw was to first convert it to smart object in photoshop via Layer->Smart Objects-> Convert to smart Object. then exported it to a psb. Then i opened the file in illustrator and applied the image trace tool but the transparent background got converted to white but i had the option of ignore white upto 16 colors trace. But in case of High Fidelity Conversion, the ignore white option is not available, what should I do now?

after using high fidelity image trace i hit expand, then i went to layers and hit the drop arrow by my thumbnail, which then shows <Group>,hit that drop arrow and it will show a list of all your paths, the very bottom one was my white background, you can click the eye or delete that path and it disappeared for me. i was using a png file with a transparent background, and nothing else worked for me, it always converted with white background, i never saw this mentioned anywhere, and accidentally discovered it, hope it works!!!

How to avoid pdf to download in IE prior to open?

I have unique problem. I cant open any pdf file from my outlook 2010 when it shared as link. When I click on the link it shows error "There was an error opening this document. The file can't be found" after opening pdf viewer.
But if I keep open my IE browser then I can see it quickly download and open in PDF !!! In the case IE is not open then only it shows the above error!
I had reinstalled and installed back latest Adobe Reader but no luck.
Any idea?

Did you meant this problem occurs only when you open pdf from Outlook. Did you tried saving that pdf first and and then open it using Reader?
Since when are you facing this issue? Did you tried a system restore to a date before this error occurred.

As per your reply, does your requirement is :
To stop user from creating a cancellation billing documents w.r.t. Invoice, posting period belongs to that invoice is closed?
Then I doubt any standard routine available for the same.
Using the user exit at VF02 or VF11 you can achieve the same (by not allowing to save the cancellation billing document) with the help of an ABAPer.
Please share the solution if got the better alternative.

How to avoid cells being merged in SPREADSHEET output

Hello all,
The PDF output looks excellent. When I use the same report with desformat=SPREADSHEET the output is not good. Each row is occuping two lines (by merging them) and also each report column merged 4 excel columns. The excel columns are merged even though the value can be displayed in just one excel column.
Any help is appreciated.

You have to play with frames and make sure there is absolutely no space between fields. Each frame is translated into an html table and then the resulting html is pushed to excel and then rendered. Most space, especially any space between fields will result in extra columns in excel. You can try 2 approaches, keep putting frames around things until it renders correctly in excel or take an example excel file, save it as html and open it up to see what the HTML looks like. You can skip all the &lthead&gt tag stuff and just get right to the table. A table tag is a frame, a tr tag is a frame (repeating), etc. Then make your report match that.

I have a customer that requires versioning of documents. So I suggested that all files to be versioned are to be put in a folder that is verison enabled. That works fine.
The problem now is, that let's say 20 versions already exist, and users are still able to turn of versioning. So if someone turns of versioning in that folder, all 20 versions are lost, aren't they?
My question now is: How do I prevent users from turning off the versioning? What options do I have in standard to keep the files? Can I somehow only allow the preson who turned on versioning to also turn it off (incl. Admin)?
I am using a CM Respository.

Hi,
According to the documentation, to disable or enable the versioning all you need is write permissions for the folder.
What you could do is play with the visibility of the Versioning command. You could remove it from menus, or set the Roles With Visibility property to only selected roles. For example if you set the Roles With Visibility to super_admin, then only the super admin will be able to see the command.
Either that or you could create a custom versioning command that will take care of all that you want.

Planning Data Forms: Two scenarios: Forecast -> CurYr (Jan - Jun: Read only. Actuals are copied over at the end of Jun. Jul - Dec: Input)
Budget -> NextYr (Jan-Dec: Input)
Issue: When adding a TBH, users are able to select the StartMonth earlier than June for CurYr, but we only want them to be able to add a TBH to Jul - Dec for CurYr and Jan-Dec for NextYr.
I checked the BR in the Wrkforce module and noticed that "Start Month" = [StartMonth]->"Cal TP-Index";
We don't own the Wrkforce module here and the admin guide doesn't have a section for variables, so I couldn't figure out what the above formula means.
Any tips?

Need to setup a set of word documents, converted to PDF that has links from one file to a second file at a given page.
I would like to setup a set of pdf documents, on the hard disk of a PC or Mac, that can be open with acrobat pro running on the same computer and have the link jump to, and open in a new window, in acrobat pro, to a given page of a second document in the set.
Is there a way to setup a link in word and the conversion to pdf that will result in a link that is equivalent to the acrobat link type you get when you add a link of the type Go to a page in another document?

I got close but did not solve the problem:
I have a version that uses links to a website, using #page=43 at the end of the hyperlink.
That works but will only open to the page if is through the web browser, opening the acrobat reader plugin.
I need to open from a folder on the local harddisk (with relative links), in acrobat pro to the given page of the pdf, on a PC or a Mac.
I could bookmark each page “pagenumberxxx” and jump to the bookmark/page if that would get around some problem
Current Systems in use to create documents with links and view them:
Windows XP SP3
Word 2003 SP3
Acrobat 9 pro version 9.4.4
Or just to view them:
Mac OS 10 Lion version 10.7.4

No. There seems to be no automated way to do it. You can of course go into the PDF and manually add links after you have converted to PDF, but that is what we want to avoid having to do. We want it to be automatic from the Word doc.

i would like to know how i can avoid the 'save as' dialogue when using the context menu to convert a word file to pdf using windows XP/acrobat 8/word 2007.
so far, it always prompts me for the filename, which is annoying as it does not allow me to batch-convert several files and let the thing run its course.
the solution provided by Steve in the other thread does not work - even if the plugin from word does not propt for a filename, it still does when triggered from explorer/context menu.
so back to square one: how to avoid that dialogue when not opening word at all?

For a permanent change, START>PRINTERS>right click on Adobe PDF printer and select properties>General>Printing Preferences>Adobe PDF Settings. Under the settings tab, uncheck the box related to asking for a name. Pretty sure that is the location, but it may vary with version.

Keep in mind (and Acrobat will alert you to this fact) that protections that you set in Acrobat are enforced by all Adobe products but the 3rd-party PDF Viewers may ignore them. There are even Web sites that will strip protections that you set in Acrobat. This is not a reliable technology these days. Acrobat keeps it mostly for backward compatibility for those users who use only Adobe Acrobat/Reader.

I attached a .doc file to the message and it appeared as an icon, so I did not have to convert it. I attached a .jpg image — it appeared as a full image, but when I Command+clicked the image, the view as icon window did not appear on the screen. Likewise, I again checked the Mail Menu Bar, and did see 'View as icon.' Side note: I routinely use Mavericks Mail in Classic Mode, so I decided to try both modes. Same results in both modes. Images in PDF file being converted into Word elements (e.g. tables and text boxes)

A friend of mine has recently signed up to ExportPDF so that he can convert PDF format wiring diagrams into Word format. On trying this the other day, we found that the wiring diagrams in the PDF file were being converted into elements of Word such as tables and text boxes.
Is there any way to get the diagrams converted into pictures within the Word document so that they can be copied and pasted into other documents? From looking at the limited settings panel to the right of the document in Reader I can't see it.

Perhaps an application dedicated to converting PDF's to Word documents may get better results.

If I may impose on your generosity one more time, if I understand you correctly if I create a document on Word or WordPerfect, print it and scan it to create a pdf, the search function will not work. But, if I create the pdf document in Word the search function will work. Unfortunately, I am not sure how I create a pdf document in Word other than by printing it and scanning it. Could you please explain.
