How to bundle ODP with my app?

I wrote a utility in .NET with ODP for a customer. The packages works on my development machine because I have OADC and ODP here. But the customer doesn't have that, and if he wants to install it he needs to go through some arduous process to get approval. Is there anyways I can just bundle the necessary dlls with the utility?
I did find an xcopy of ODP on Oracle's download site, but it's only available in 11g. The customer's Oracle database is version 10.2g.
How can I bundle ODAC and ODP for 10.2?

The Oracle 11.2 Client is interoperable with the 10.2 DB server. There is no need to use the 10.2 client with the 10.2 DB server.
Chapter 2 in the ODP.NET documentation says that Oracle 11.2 Client is certified with Oracle DB 9.2 and higher.

  • How does SharePoint synchronize with Word app?

I have read that when creating a document in Word for the iPad, the document automatically saves to OneDrive and synchronizes automatically.
However I don't want this. I want to work on (edit) a document that is stored on my corporate intranet on SharePoint (hosted privately and NOT Office 365 SharePoint).
So my question is, is the document I am working on automatically synchronized to SharePoint if I have downloaded it from SharePoint?
Follow-up question - is my SharePoint document also stored on OneDrive without my authorization?
    Thanks!
    - Thom

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to synchronize SharePoint with Word app.
You can use OneDrive to synchronize automatically between SharePoint and Word app.
The Sync process that involves copying, updating, and moving files between a client workstation and the server, or vice versa.
In the other word, once you update or save a document in the library, it will sync to the OneDrive folder; once you update or save a document in the OneDrive folder, it will sync to the library.

  • HT5661 How to transfer iPad with downloaded apps to another person?

    Hi,
Could you please advise how do I transfer my iPad2 with many downloaded apps to my son, i.e. re-register the iPad2 with my son's own Apple Id so that he could sync his iPhone stuff with iPad2?  I don't need the iPad2 anymore but would like him to be able to keep using the downloaded apps in the iPad2.
    Thanks!

  • Bundling JavaMail With My App

    Hi all,
I just want to know should I include the java mail jars and the activation jar with my desktop application?
What I need to know is where is the best place to put the jar files. For now what I have is a small installation application written in java and I require the users to install a JRE included with the application cd.
Should I write some code into my installer to copy the jars into JRE/lib/ext folder or can I just place them in the same folder as my application jars?
What I dont want to do is to edit the users CLASSPATH variable, especially since that might be difficult with NT systems.
I need it to be as simple as possible cause most of my users do not even know what Java stands for, let alone how to configure it.
    Thanks for any responses
    ICE

What I need to know is where is the best place to put the jar files.in the classpath.
What I dont want to do is to edit the users CLASSPATH variable...and you shouldn't. You do one of a few things:
    1) write a startup script to use to start the app, in which you put what you'd put on the command line, including a custom classpath
    javaw -classpath ./lib/myapp.jar;./lib/mail.jar;./lib/activation.jar com.pckg.MyApp
    2) create an executable Jar for your app which has a classpath attribute along with the main class defined in the manifest. There's plenty of info on that on the web.

  • How I solved issues with Mail.app and Spotlight

Even though my upgrade from Tiger 10.4.10 to Leopard was painless, the new OS X did have a few issues that had bothered me:
*Mail.app: * Every now and then, the app would behave like on its first startup, saying it needs to import my mail before I can work with it. What's more, at times I've had the phenomen that messages would appear empty on the preview pane and sometimes even when being opened.
*Spotlight: * Even though I let the indexing finish on the first day of working under Leopard, every now and then it seemed to start all over. First, I thought it's the NAS being indexed but it just went on to restart indexing each time I thought I had let it finish.
*Free disk space: * I tried to bring the usage of my homedirectory down so I would have enough free disk space to switch FileVault off and then back on so I could start using TimeMachine. But whatever I did, the free disk space just wouuldn't inrease - it just stayed the same (yes, I did let the system recover space on shutdown).
The *free disk space* issue made me think there was a problem with my disk but repeated runs with the Disk Utility yielded nothing...not for about a month. Yesterday I got some warnings about 'damaged but not repaired' but according to an Apple doc those could be safely ignored.
Somebody suggested to apply the combo update for 10.5.1 as that could solve some issues so I went ahead - after all, the update had already been applied earlier so just re-installing wouldn't hurt much, right?
    Wrong.
The install of the combo update went smoothly, FileVault recovered some space on shutdown but upon restart I couldn't log in anymore: My homedirectory was damaged. The friendly OS X Leopard offered to repair it but soon later reported back that it failed doing so.
Now, to cut a long story short - deleting the affected user's account and using a different user on the same machine (without FileVault) solved any issues I've had. Mail now works like a charm (despite 40k+ messages with attachments), spotlight doesn't restart all it's indexing and disk space is shown correctly again. Also the odd corrupt file copy I had experienced occasionally (especially with large files) was gone.
My advise to anyone who didn't de-activate FileVault under Tiger to make the switch to Leopard: Even if you think it worked, switch it off and let Leopard set it up again. You may think things went right...but the above shows that there may be issues with it that you may blame other apps for...but they're probably not guilty at all.
I don't think the combo update actually caused FileVault to turn corrupt, it was just what broke the camel's neck. While it's no fun to lose your homedirectory, I'm glad the underlying issue finally came to light.

Thanks to this thread, it's been solved.

  • How to gift computer with Lion (App Store) to someone else?

I am replacing an iMac which has the current Lion OS on it purchased through the App Store.  I want to give this old computer a friend.  1.  Since Lion updates automatically via my Apple ID at the App Store, what needs to be done to enable the recipient of my gifted computer to continue to receive updates?  AND:
    2.  Do I need to do some type of "deauthorization" of my App Store Apple ID like I would do for my iTunes account?
This was not an issue with the old method of the OS on a purchased CD, and it may be a non-issue now.  Thanks!

    You can't legally do it.
From the Lion software license agreement, downloadable here:
    http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/macosx1072.pdf
    B. If you obtained your license to the Apple Software from the Mac App Store or on Apple- branded physical media, it is not transferable. If you sell your Apple-branded hardware to a third party, you must remove the Apple Software from the Apple-branded hardware before doing so, and you may restore your system to the version of the Apple operating system software that originally came with your Apple hardware (the “Original Apple OS”) and permanently transfer the Original Apple OS together with your Apple hardware, provided that: (i ) the transfer must include all of the Original Apple OS, including all its component parts, printed materials and its license; (ii) you do not retain any copies of the Original Apple OS, full or partial, including copies stored on a computer or other storage device; and (iii) the party receiving the Original Apple OS reads and agrees to accept the terms and conditions of the Original Apple OS license.

  • HT1933 how report a problem with a app purchase

    no work

What 'no work', the purchase of the app or the app has downloaded but doesn't work on your device ?
If the purchase isn't going through then what happens, are you getting an error message ?
If the app has downloaded but doesn't work on your device then have you tried deleting and redownloading it via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it ? If that hasn't fixed it then have you contacted the developer ? If you have and they can't help then try the 'report a problem' link to contact iTunes Support and see if they will refund or credit you : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • How to bundle application with OCF?

hi,i developed an applet in the javacard and a OCF applcation on the host..
and now i would like to make a jar file, let it runs when double click,
but now my question is ..how to integrate the OCF and the host application,
i know i can put OCF's library into the jar,
but how about the "opencard.properties" file?
    it must be in jdk\bin\
so can anybody gives me some suggestion to solve this problem..
    thx a lot

must exist in the jdk/bin ? Not true.
The OCF checks for your opencard.properties in four directories in the following order.
    [java.home]/lib/opencard.properties
    [user.home]/.opencard.properties
    [user.dir]/opencard.properties
    [user.dir]/.opencard.properties
this code snippet will tell you where your opencard.properties file is
    import java.util.Properties;
    public class findOCP {
    public static void main(String[] argv) {
    Properties props = System.getProperties();
System.out.println("Looking for OpenCard Properties file in:\n\t"
    + props.getProperty("java.home") + "\\lib\\opencard.properties\n\t"
    + props.getProperty("user.home") + "\\.opencard.properties\n\t"
    + props.getProperty("user.dir") + "\\opencard.properties\n\t"
    + props.getProperty("user.dir") + "\\.opencard.properties\n");

  • Simple java download bundled with my app -- what link can I use

I have a java app that I'd like to make as easy as possible for people to install and use who don't know about java or don't want to deal with installing a JRE. I built two different setup files, one bundled with a private jre for the app and one that just has the app.
If the user downloads the non-jre-bundled version, and they either don't have a jre or they have a version that's not supported by the app, my insatller will detect this and abort the install with instructions to download a jre or download the bundled verison of the app.
I'd prefer to ask the user's permission to download a private jre automatically in the above scenario. I know how to do this with my installer enviropnment (NSIS), but I can't find a suitable url from Sun that serves this purpose. I need a link that bypasses the licence agreement page and just directly downloads the jre.
I got a url from a sample NSIS script that seems to provide this, but the most recent file is dated June 2005 and points to JRE 5 Update 1.
    The root url is http://dlc.sun.com/jdk/
From there you can see several jre/jdk links for 1.4 and 1.5, but no 1.5 jre or jdk with anything beyond update 1.
Does anyone know of a link I could use to directly download the latest jre 1.5?

If any such site exists, it is in violation of Sun's
current Java license.I'm not a lawyer, but the JRE License Agreement seems to be written in English, so I took a look at it. Paragraph B of the Supplemental License Terms (near the end of the license) would seem to apply, and I've pasted it below.
As I read it, I think you're right that a direct download site is in violation of the agreement. This seems to be the case because item (v) requires anyone distributing Sun's JRE to pass on the license terms. By definition a direct download site doesn't do that.
Having said that, it seems that the site I pointed out in the original post is a Sun site. Apparently they're willing to violate their own license terms. I just wish they'd update the site, so something beyond Update 1 were available for JRE 5.
This is the first time I've ever heard this. I've
seen many people on this forum getting help bundling
the JRE with their app. Note that the Sun license agreement does not preclude bundling the JRE with you app, so long as you obey the stated restrictions.
