How to call transaction in workflow

Hi All,
I want to call transaction in my workflow .
Can anyone tell me about it?

Hi,
first create activity task in workflow. create a new methos inside BO.
Then call the FM 'ABAP4_CALL_TRANSACTION' in the BO method.
use this FM for call transaction from ABAP code.

Hi,
you have to define a handler for the event hotspot_click of class CL_GUI_ALV_GRID, if you are using that class. If you are using class CL_SALV_TABLE maybe class CL_SALV_EVENTS_TABLE may help you.

Call transaction in Workflow doesn't work

Hi all,
I'm a strange problem.
I built a call transaction in a FM. If I test the FM the call transaction works fine.
if I put this FM in a workflow (in a class I build ad hoc for the WF) it doesn't work,
I check in degub the import partameters and it is ok.
I try to execute the FM also in UPDATE or in BACKGROUND task, or the call transaction in different MODE or UPDATE ways, but nothing.
any idea?

Hi,
Whether your BDC code in your function module is requesting any input from user?. If yes, make sure to pass values since you are calling through Workflow which dont popup BDC screens?.
Let me know your scenario is different than I told here.

how do we open a transaction thru an abap program and pass a parameter to it

Use call transaction. You can fill up the parameters in the BDC internal table
DATA:   bdc_tab LIKE bdcdata    OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
DATA:   messtab LIKE bdcmsgcoll OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
CONSTANTS: c_tcode LIKE t130m-tcode VALUE 'FB01'. "Tcode you want to call
        CALL TRANSACTION c_tcode
             USING bdc_tab
             MODE   'N'
             UPDATE 'S'
             MESSAGES INTO messtab.
Error message will be captured in the messtab.
You can goto the SAP help on Call transaction to see all the details and options.

How to Call Transaction iView that calls RRMXP from Web Dynpro for ABAP

Dear Experts,,
I'm developing an application in Web Dynpro for ABAP wherein I'm supposed to give a link that should open an SAP Transaction iView that calls tcode = 'RRMXP' and I pass the application parameter as QUERY/WBID = <BI query/Workbook ID>.
I tried calling com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.bwc.Transaction iView, but it asks for system/application and GUI type parameters. How to pass through the URL?
Any help would be highly appreciated

My problem was that I was supposed to call the BeX Web Analyser ( a BI excel based tool - client installation) on click of a button in my WD-ABAP application. I solved it as follows :
In the portal pcd, I cam across a folder content provided by SAP. Here, you'll find standard template iViews that can be used to call applications ( for which you make iViews). I had to call an SAP TCode : RRMXP so as to call a BI Workbook/Query.
So, I called the standard iView template for sap_transaction_iView as follows :
irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtmode/preview/prtroot/'
           'pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2ftemplates'
           '!2fiviews!2fcom.sap.portal.sap_transaction_iview?'

I am newbie to webdypro. I need a step by step guidance on this. I have come across a solution by Vishal Kapoor as followed. But I need more elaboration on the steps.
1: Call below method to get host, port and protocol
cl_http_server=>if_http_server~get_location
2: concatenate protocol '://' host ':' port '/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/?sap-client=&~transaction='your tcode name' into url
3: get the window manager as we are opening t code in external window.
DATA lo_window_manager TYPE REF TO if_wd_window_manager.
DATA lo_api_component TYPE REF TO if_wd_component.
DATA lo_window TYPE REF TO if_wd_window.
lo_api_component = wd_comp_controller->wd_get_api( ).
lo_window_manager = lo_api_component->get_window_manager( ).
4: Call the url which we created above
lo_window_manager->create_external_window(

The T code will be executed using the integrated ITS
Questions:
1. what ui element do i need? (link to url?)
2. Where do i put in this chunk of codes? ( create a abc method?)
3. How can I trigger this piece of code from the ui element? ( the connection/link between the ui element and method)

1. First decide when you have to call this transaction.. I mean which UI element must be used..ie whether on clicking a link ( either link to Action or Link to URL UI element ) or just need to call after a pressing a button(UI element ) likewise..
2. Suppose If you are using a link to action UI element, give some text in the Text property and create an event in OnAction method..
3. Double click that method and wrote the coding u want.. I mean as u mentioned before.. For example

Suppose if u want to create a Link to URL UI element.. Just create it and pass URL to the Reference Property of that.. Ur URl will automatically called in new window..

Calling transaction from workflow step ?

is there any business object or apab-class with which i can directly call a transaction ?
i want to put in the fixed value PA71 for the transaction, and that should be started. but i can't find an OT for that !

Hello,
Create a method in the custom business object that you use in the workflow. While creating the method, check radio button "Transaction" and specify the transaction code that you want to call.
This radio button is present in the tab "ABAP" when you double click on the method.In this way you can call the TCode.

Personas: how to call Transaction code using a Script Button?

Hi,
I want to use a script button to run to certain UI based on the given transaction code. I am thinking there might be some ways to do so:
Option 1:
Somehow one can let the script button call the T-code in script, say, IW21, but how to write such script?
Option 2:
In the script of the script button, use "Push" or "Click" to cause an action on the launch button which contains the T-code, say /nIW21.
But on my PC, this does not work. Why?

Hi,
I have found exact answer to this question: in the script of a script button, one can first set the T-code to the /okdc component, then call "press Enter" action. By this way, any script button can be used to triggle an action for a T-code. One can set teh /okdc as "hidden". Hope this will help other newers.

You can use the FM - ABAP4_CALL_TRANSACTION u2013 Initiates a transaction in a separate window
inside the method in the BO.
Implement that BO and the method in the Activity of the WF..!!
Use the FM like this:-

How to pass value standard program to Workflow after than to call Transaction

Hi Experts..
    While We are Cancel any PO in Me29n, it will Pass values(Like reason for cancel With PO No) and Send a mail (User name whose reject the cancel against Release of PO No) in workflow inbox(workplace) After than getting a mail any particular User, they will See the Message of Purchase order against Canceled. After then they will double click on that message it will trigger ME29N Tcode with the particular PO.
        Using with Badi in Me29N we have to Passed Values and sent a Mail in work place but When Double click on Message I Dont Know HOw to Call ME29N in work place....
     Cancel Po in Me29N-->WORK PLACE --> Double click on message,will call ME29N
   So, please help me how to i can Rectified this.

The trigger event is event 'rejection_start' in BUS2012. Create a user decision(which will show in workplace) and create a task bounding the 'Display' method of BUS2012.

How to handle the call transaction in method of a custom business object

Hello all,
There is a custom report " RPTCORAPP" for approving leaves . As per my requirement i have develop a copy of leave workflow and for approval process i have call "RPTCORAPP" in Custom method of custom object. i have made a transaction for this custom report for approving attendances. I am calling this method though call transaction statement within method.
Problem: while approving the attendance workitem is not disappearing from the portal. Problem is due to call transaction statement.
               once workitem come to the user, user click on it. control goes to the report, which display all the leave to approve on
               the portal.
               If after approving/ rejecting attendance user close the screen.workflow remain in the "process" status.Control wont come back after call transaction statement in the method.
             At the same time if user clicks on back button inspite of closing the screen. it is working fine. workitem disappears from the portal.
How to handle the scenarion. if after approving/rejecting, i want the control to come back to the NEXT STATEMENT after call transactionstatement in my method.
Please help it out........:)

Calling Transaction through User Decision step in workflow

Hi all,
Pls help me calling a transaction through User Decision step in workflow. I have attached two buttons to my User decision and the one of the outcomes to a task where I am calling the transaction through a method of BOR. But the problem is I am unable to see the transaction when I press the button on my User Decision at test run.
Can you ppl let me know how can I achieve this?
