How to Capture Value from Form in DFF at Data Entry Level
I need to catch some Atrribute into DFF, which are stored in Customer Master DFF to Order Entry Form DFF, when that Particular Customer is selected.
For e.g. If in DFF of Customer Master Attribute1 is 'XYZ' for ABC Customer.
When user is booking Order For that Customer, Order Heaer DFF should be polulated by 'XYZ'.
Use NAME_IN function to get value.

How to get value from a metric based on date, without effecting other colum

I have 2 metrics say Revenue and Total Revenue and Date Dim
For a selected date in the prompt, Revenue should be shown for that date, where as Total Revenue should be shown for the past 15 days, based on the date in the prompt.
How can I achieve this?

How to pass values from main window to pop-up window?

When you do pop-up windows you need to put JavaScript in the html of the pop-up itself. Data can be passed by creating new fields in the window object, which the popup can access via the window.openner field.
So, before invoking the popup add any data to be passed to the window object, then the onLoad function in the popup grabs the data. -

How can I make a form show complex composite data?
We would like a form to display the following information:
Employee Names as the columns, 1 row for each calendar day, and each item in the block containing the total sales amount (and other information) for that employee for that day.
This would require the block to function as a (composite) crosstab report.
Here is an example:
We have employees: Jane, John, Jim, and Janice
We would like to see their total sales for the following days: 5/1 .. 5/5
Jane John Jim Janice

5/2 40 7 60 8 10 2 30 4
5/3 20 3 50 8 70 9 50 9

We have a table with records of each day, for each employee, and their sales for that day.
There is a possibility our list of employees can change as well as the number of days.
Anyone tried doing anything like this with a form? We don't want to just embed a report because we would like to include other data as well besides what is mentioned above and we would like them to be able to change some of that data. Thanks in advance for any help.
nullI have a VERY similar problem where I want to have this matrix on the form with six days worth of data (three columns for each day) for my data table. I have done as Momen has suggested and created a view (using SQLPLUS):

Also, I am using the form to CREATE rows in the data table not just SELECT and DISPLAY and there may or may not be a row of data for a corresponding day which is going to be a problem for me using this view method, I think. Let me know how this goes and if you get your form to work and how? Momen, your method appeals to me but it's not 100% clear how to get it to work in a form?

I have two time characteristics "0FISCYEAR" (Fiscal Year) and "0FISCPER" (Fiscal Year/Period). In DSO initially "0FISCPER" was there and later request came to add "0FISCYEAR". Now data in char. "0FISCPER" is since beginning (from 2000) and for char. "0FISCYEAR" is since 2010.
User's requirement is to create a report which will display data Year wise.
My issue is if i am using "0FISCYEAR" then user is not able to see year instead it shows #. I dont want to do data reloading as this is GL data and hold huge no. of records in it.
So my concern is : Is there any way to use only year value from "0FISCPER" (Fiscal Year/Period) at BEx level? Is there any setting which I can apply and get the same value of Year as I can see from "0FISCYEAR". Please assist me on this.

however, I would still suggest to reload the data. you will only need to reload years before 2010 and you can do this in phases.

There are 2 addresses one is shipping and other is billing. I do not want the customer to re-enter all the details if it is the same address. So based upon an action, it should take the live values from one address field and populate the other address field. I know in JS you can do it, but how to implement that in Apex?
I guess using Dynamic Actions to achieve this in Version 4 but do not know how. Read quite some info but no luck.

I have assumed that you have your shipping address at the top of the page, and then further down the page you have your billing address that you want to enable the users to copy (if this is in reverese, you will need to switch the js variables in the code following).
I would create a Select List item above the 'Billing Address' details, called PX_SAME_ADDRESSThis select list would be static, with the options Null.
I also assume you would have pairs of address page items such as:

How to assign values from multiple output(cursor) to fields(line item-one below other) in forms??
Hi all,
I have a Form which has text_field columns as below , created from table RECEIVED_FORM_15G. This table is blank.
1) CUST_CODE with 1 line item. (Number of Items displayed=1)
2) ACCT_FD_NO with 10 line items. (Number of Items displayed=10)
There are more than 1 ACCT_FD_NO for 1 CUST_CODE.
When i enter the CUST_CODE and press tab, all the values of ACCT_FD_NO must get displayed. I am taking ACCT_FD_NO values from another table called KEC_FDACCT_MSTR
and want to display ACCT_FD_NO, one below other (line item). So i put in the following code:

The first value gets displayed in first line item, then the cursor moves from first line item to second line item,
the second value gets displayed in the second line item, (this is because of NEXT_RECORD in my code)
later all the values are getting displayed in the second line item only. (I checked it using message call.)
I want it to display one below the other.
The problem is the cursor is not moving to third line item after the second line item.
So the remaining values gets displayed in the second line item only.
So what is wrong in my code??
Where should i place the next_record to make the cursor move from one line item to next line item i.e from second line item to third line item
& third line item to fourth line item & so on.... Please let me know.

Oracle 9i.The above code is right..
The only mistake was In the property palette of CUST_CODE, "required" was not set to "Yes" .
So after setting required to 'YES' , it worked perfectly fine.
