• How to recognize the name of invoked classes&methods&fields in a class

I am now doing some programming used to recognize the name of all classes, methods, constructors and fields invoked from other classes in a given class. This recognition is required automatical. Now I really have no idea how to realize it. Can anyone please give me some suggestions how to programme it?
Now I show you a specific example to make sure you understand my question.
From the following example, firstly I've no idea what outer classes, methods and fields are used in class "PointShadowProtocol". However, the expected functionality of realization is to find out: 1, the name of two used outer classes: Shadow, Point; 2, invoked constructor: Shadow s=new Shadow(int x,int y); 3, invoked methods: Point.getX()， Point.getY()， Point.printPosition()，Shadow.offset，Shadow.printPosition(); and 4, invoked field: Point.x,Point.y,Shadow.x,Shadow.y
public class PointShadowProtocol{
private int shadowCount=0;
public static Shadow getShadow(Point p){
Shadow s=new Shadow(p.x,p.y);
return s;
public void setting(Point p){
Shadow s=new Shadow(p.x,p.y);
shadowCount++;
public void settingX(Point p){
Shadow s=getShadow(p);
s.x=p.getX()+Shadow.offset;
p.printPosition();
s.printPosition();
public void settingY(Point p){
Shadow s=getShadow(p);
s.y=p.getY()+Shadow.offset;
p.printPosition();
s.printPosition();
Actually, after realizing this functionality, I will use these results to automatically generate the related class stub, method stub, field stub, which can be used to test the given class "PointShadowProtocol", probably equivalent to unit test.
Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance for your reply.

Using BCEL sounds a good idea for a class in Java. Actually, I want to target an aspect, which is from AspectJ, without knowing any invoked classes, class methods and fields inside an aspect in the first place (examples of an aspect is as showed below). An aspect in AspectJ is just like a class in Java. But an aspect can't be compiled if the invoked outer classes and methods don't exist. (In fact, the weaving of an aspect into classes happens in the compile time, an aspect can't be compiled if the woven classes (or invoked classes) don't exist, which means I have to find out the all the invoked classes, class methods and fields in that aspect before the compile time) So BCEL could not apply into an aspect in AspectJ.
I am sorry to introduce new concepts here. However,the solution to find out all the invoked outer classes, class methods and fields in a given class before the compile time can be applied to an aspect as well.
Thank you for your time to think about my question.
public aspect PointShadowProtocolAspect {

pointcut setting(Point p): target(p)&&call(Point.new(int,int));
pointcut settingX(Point p):target(p)&&call(void Point.setX(int));
pointcut settingY(Point p):target(p)&&call(void Point.setY(int));

• How to change column names in dimension and cube views?

whenever AWM creates a view on a dimension or cube, it creates columns for long and short description with full name
forexanmpel, it creates like
CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW OLAPTRAIN.CHANNEL_VIEW
AS
SELECT
"DIM_KEY",
"LEVEL_NAME",
"MEMBER_TYPE",
"DIM_ORDER",
"LONG_DESCRIPTION",
"SHORT_DESCRIPTION",
"ALL_CHANNELS_LONG_DESCRI",
"ALL_CHANNELS_SHORT_DESCR",
"CLASS_LONG_DESCRIPTION",
"CLASS_SHORT_DESCRIPTION",
"CHANNEL_LONG_DESCRIPTION",
"CHANNEL_SHORT_DESCRIPTIO",
"CHANNEL_TYPE",
"CHANNEL_CHANNEL_TYPE",
"CHANNEL_ALL_CHANNELS_ID",
"CHANNEL_CLASS_ID",
"CHANNEL_CHANNEL_ID"
FROM TABLE(CUBE_TABLE('"OLAPTRAIN"."CHANNEL"') );
what is the way to customize the column name? for example for class level, how can we say insterad of long_description and short_description, use LONG and SHORT simply?
i also see the size of long and short descriptions are set to varchar2(60) and varchar2(20), is there a way to change that for each level in AWM?
Thanks

Hi there,
I don't think there is a way to control the column names within the OLAP product itself, but if this is something you really want to do, have you tried creating your own views?
As you can see, the syntax is pretty simple
Thanks,

But,the column names are not getting set.Please provide your inputs.
Regards,
Salma

hi,
About your requirement, i don't know why you need to code in "Phase 3" of OVS.
"Phase 3" is used for transporting your selected value to Your ALV.
I think, the reason why you loose the result table including your customized column title, is that you loose the "Phase 2".
Generally, in the past i used OVS as the following code simply.Just one example:
* declare data structures for the fields to be displayed and
* for the table columns of the selection list, if necessary
types:
begin of lty_stru_input,
* add fields for the display of your search input here
carrid type string,
connid type string,
end of lty_stru_input.
types:
begin of lty_stru_list,
* add fields for the selection list here
carrid type string,
connid type string,
text   type string,
end of lty_stru_list.
data: ls_search_input  type lty_stru_input,
lt_select_list type standard table of lty_stru_list,
ls_text          type wdr_name_value,
lt_label_texts   type wdr_name_value_list,
lt_column_texts  type wdr_name_value_list,
case ovs_callback_object->phase_indicator.
when if_wd_ovs=>co_phase_0. "configuration phase, may be omitted
* in this phase you have the possibility to define the texts,
* if you do not want to use the defaults (DDIC-texts)
ls_text-name = 'CARRID'. "must match a field name of search
ls_text-value = 'Search Field-Carrid'.
insert ls_text into table lt_label_texts.
ls_text-name = 'CONNID'. "must match a field name of search
ls_text-value = 'Search Field-Connid'.
insert ls_text into table lt_label_texts.

• How to change the name of a Box Object in Crystal Reports 2008

I am trying to change the name of a box object in a crystal report - 2008. This report was originally developed by consultants and requires that certain boxes be named according to a specific naming convention. I am making a change to the report and need to add a box with a name that matches the naming convention. This is so some program functionality will work for the new box. I can't contact the consultants because they don't work with our company anymore.
Does anybody have any ideas? I've tried 'Format Box', but it won't let me change the name from there. I also tried it in the Report Explorer but to no avail.
Thanks,
Joanne

Hi Joanne,
Boxes do not actually have a 'name'. When you add a Box in a report, it will be called 'Box 1' by default. And the only place this name is visible is under the Report Explorer.
Or do you mean to say 'Text Object'?

Hi Shehzad,
SAPHELP on Advantages of ABAP Objects - Using ABAP - SAP Library says -
There are only two purposes for which procedural ABAP is essential:
· Encapsulation of classic screens in function modules.
· When you want to make functions available to other systems, but are not able to make class methods available externally using XI server proxies. In this case, you have to use function modules.

Hi,
If you would change column type, you might need to re-create column.
If you would like a text column to display in date format, you could refer to the links below:

• How to change the "name of column" property of an text item in runtime?

How to change the "name of column" property of an text item in runtime?
I look the properties of items in help and found nothing about this!
It's possible?

Hi,
an other solution is change the block property QUERY_DATA_SOURCE_TYPE from "Table" to "Sub-query" , than change at run time the property QUERY_DATA_SOURCE_NAME.
First create block and add items
The QUERY_DATA_SOURCE_NAME will be for ex. "Select 'A' as col1, 'B' AS col2, 'C' as col3 from dual"
Set into items the column name property to col1 , col2 ...
At run time change the query to "Select 'Z' as col1, 'X' as col2 , 'Y' as col3 from dual"
in this way you can change the source of column value.
Caution because if you change value type from varchar2 to date you must cast date into varchar2.
May be that this way is valid only for view data not for insert-update, i don't remember.
bye

• How to change the page header?

Hi,
I just installed and started using Plumtree 6.0 a month ago, and we are still in a trial phase for our company's portal.
I want to change the default page header to replace Plumtree logo to my company's logo. I thought I can change it in the style sheet, but I didn't find where to change in the cssmill folder. I found an artical in edocs.bea.com saying I can modify the header by using ALI Publisher, but I don't know what's the right way to do it and faster.
Can someone guide me how to change the page header?
Thank you. (if this is not the correct forum to post the question, please let me know which forum should I go)

Depends on what you want to do. Personally, I'd do a header portlet and not touch the Plumtree/BEA logos. They're likely to be overwritten when the product receives updates.
This may seem like a lot of steps, but really - it goes quickly
** Think through what you want to display. If all you want to do is replace the image, but you wan to keep the overall layout style then you can create a simple replacement header
Step 1 - create a header portlet
=======================
If you're using Publisher...
=====
* Create a new portlet - choose the Header portlet template
* Upload your image / change the header in the rich text editor
If you're not using Publisher
=====
* Personally, static HTML will do just fine - create a folder and html file called something like "mybanner/mybanner.htm" on your remote portlet server
* Plop in an image (you'll want to swipe some adaptive tags for community and page name - can always stick those in later)
* Create a new remote portlet web service that references this HTML page
* Create a portlet from the web service - make sure the type is "header"
Step 2 - turn it on
=======================
* Create a new experience definition (or modify default - I usually create a new one so you can move it between environments)
* In the experience definition's "header / footer" settings area, tell the header to load from the new header portlet you created
* If you created a custom experience definition, modify your experience rules to load this experience defiintion according to whatever parameters you think make sense (just be careful you don't knock out your login page - we usually use security groups to just say "hey - the user is logged in and is, in fact, a member of this portal - that'll still let your login pages load)
Done
May seem like a lot of work, but really it's just a series of simple steps. Advantage here is you can vary things as you see fit and also just feel safe that the next time Plumtree/BEA updates those imageserver files you'll be good to go. From there you can get as fancy schmancy as you like using adaptive tags, etc. Heck - make it a .NET app if you want and do some crazy personalization or something. Embed stock tickers, important news alerts, whatever.
That help at all?
Thanks,
Eric

Assuming you are using JClient, You can set the label using the UI Hint on the corresponding attribute.
