How to Change Repository Mount Point

As the subject says - how can I change the repository mount point?  If I try to update an existing repository, I get an error indicating that the ID already exists in the database.  While I could specify a new ID for the repository, I'm worried that I may corrupt the repository tree if I start changing ID's of objects.....
I could always delete and re-create the repository, but I'd rather not.

The old installation is booted because of the BIOS boot order. Press a special key right after starting the computer, during BIOS post, and select the SSD as boot device. To make this permanent  you need to modify the BIOS boot order.  I'm surprised you were able to install arch linux without knowing these basics.

  • Change a Mount Point

I have a Lucent Mars WinModem, so I installed the Martian Driver to make Linux see the modem.  I can now connect to the Internet using wvidal, but none of my applications notice that I am connect to the Internet.  I know I am connected because the modem makes its usual sounds.  Am I missing a daemon that I need for my applications to be able to communicate properly?
Martian, by default, mounts the modem to /dev/ttySM0.  If I could change that mount point to something like /dev/modem I could try it with KPPP.  KPPP just does not have /dev/ttySM0 in its drop-down box of mount-points.
Martian documentation is sparse, so I have no idea if it is possible to change martian's settings.

Usually /dev/modem is a symlink. You can create this file by hand for testing purposes.
Yes, I was able to create a link to the actual modem that KPPP could use, but then KPPP ran into errors of its own.  (I am working on this in another thread)
Maybe wvdial is not setting the default route, I've never used it, so I can't help you with that, but you can try to set the default route to the ppp0 interface when it is created.
How do I set the default route?  What is the ppp0 interface?

  • How to determine the mount point for directory /tmp ?

    Folks,
Hello. I am installing Oracle 11gR2 RAC using 2 Virtual Machines (rac1 and rac2 whose OS are Oracle Linux 5.6) in VMPlayer and according to the tutorial
    http://appsdbaworkshop.blogspot.com/2011/10/11gr2-rac-on-linux-56-using-vmware.html
I am installing Grid infrastructure. I am on step 7 of 10 (verify Grid installation enviroment) and get this error:
    "Free Space: Rac2: /tmp"
Cause: Could not determine mount point for location specified.
Action: Ensure location specified is available.
    Expected value: n/a
    Actual value: n/a
I have checked the free space using the command:
    [root@Rac2 /]# df -k /tmp
    Output:
Filesystem     1k-blocks     used     Available     Use%     Mounted on
    /dev/sda1     30470144     7826952     21070432     28%     /
As you see above, the free space is enough, but could not determine mount point for /tmp.
Do any folk understand how to determine the mount point for directory /tmp ?
    Thanks.

I have just checked "/home/oracle/.bash_profile". But in my computer, there is no "oracle" under /home directory. Is this your first time Linux and Oracle installation? I had a brief look at your referenced link. The reason why you do not find a "oracle" user is because the instructions use "ora11g" instead, which, btw, is not standard. The directories of your installation and your installation source can be somewhat different from known standards and you will have to adjust it to your system.
My best guess is that you have either missed something in the instructions or you need to ask the author of the blog what is wrong. The chance to find someone here who has experience with these custom instructions is probably unlikely.
I suggest you try to locate the cluster verification tool, which should be in the bin directory of your grid installation. Alternatively you might want to check the RAC, ASM & Clusterware Installation forum: RAC, ASM & Clusterware Installation

  • How can I add mount points to a guest OS?

    Hi folks,
Still a newbie here but learning.
I've got an VM Server installed on a host
I've downloaded and successfully started an Oracle Enterprise Linux guest (from the template downloaded from Oracle)
I want to add more disk space to the guest now. I'm learning about System Admin but most of my background is DBA so I need some help here.
I notice on the VM Server, when I first boot it up, df -k shows the following mount points
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
    /dev/sda2 3050092 847800 2044856 30% /
    /dev/sda1 101086 45981 49886 48% /boot
    tmpfs 65624 0 65624 0% /dev/shm
After I start up the Oracle Ent. Linux 5 guest, the same df -k command on the VM Server shows:
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
    /dev/sda2 3050092 847800 2044856 30% /
    /dev/sda1 101086 45981 49886 48% /boot
    tmpfs 65624 0 65624 0% /dev/shm
    /dev/sda3 72838656 5323008 67515648 8% /var/ovs/mount/164D6102E20C42A9BC7492CCAFE882EF
I'm curious about the /var/ovs/mount/164D6102E20C42A9BC7492CCAFE882EF mount point. What is that? Can I use some of the mounted space for my guest OS?
If I log into the OEL guest, df -k shows:
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
    /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00
    3999424 3348800 444188 89% /
    /dev/xvda1 101086 12965 82902 14% /boot
    tmpfs 131160 0 131160 0% /dev/shm
So basically what I want to do is to add say three mount points to the guest /u01 /u02 and /u02 at 20Gig each. I'm assuming this disk space comes from the VM server's /var/ovs/mount/164D6102E20C42A9BC7492CCAFE882EF mount but I'm not sure how to do this. Any pointers of instructions are greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
    John S

Read up on the documentation, specifically http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15458_01/doc.22/e15444/repository.htm#BGBFCDGJ explains it a little better. Basically thats your storage repository,. this is where VM images, ISO's templates and whatnot is stored and it has no correlation what drives you see within the guest VM.

  • Changing Oracle Mount Point After Installation Is Completed.

How easy is it to change an Oracle Mount Point once an SAP installation has been completed?  Reason I am asking, is another Basis person believes it's easier to wipe the partition and reinstall.

    Hello,
Yes this is OK (for SAP/Oracle) and easy for unix team too. You please shut down SAP and Oracle completely and Unix expert can change the file system. But be careful that the exact mount point 'name' should remain intact. For e.g. '/oracle/SID' is a mount point and if you want to change the file system or mount this particular 'directory' onto a different filesystem/partition then the 'mount point name' i.e. 'oracle/SID' should remain same - as required by oracle/sap to run.
    Thanks

  • 3D PSD file import : how to change 3D anchor point in AE ? Challenge..!

    Hello everyone,
I've successfully imported a 3D file from Photoshop Extended CS4 into AE CS4. In AE, I can sucessfully animate rotation of the 3D object.
Here's the problem : I cannot change the 3D object's anchor point. I've tried changing the anchor point's coordinates on the controller layer of the 3D object layer, the numers change, but the anchor point remains at its initial position, as if it was locked.
I also thought changing the anchor point in PS Extended before importing the file into AE, but PS Extended does not seem to have an anchor point changing tool.
So I even reasoned back one step : changing the anchor point in my 3D software since the beginning. Well, not possible because PS Extended seems to create an average position for the anchor point when impoting a 3D file from a third party software. So useless changing the coordinates in the 3D software.
Photoshop Extended 3D is the only possible workflow to import 3D objects into AE that I know of.
So, is is possible to change the 3D anchor point directly in After Effects ? What blocks that point from being changed ?
This is quite a challenging problem, good luck for finding a solution ! I'm very sure that this technique is commonly needed and used when working in 3D, and that it will be of great help for many designers that want 3D in After Effects !
    Thanks again !
Note : please do not confuse simple After Effects standard 3D layer, with the 3D PSD file import layer, these are two totally different types

Any further forward with this anyone?
This is driving me insane as well...
I'm trying to create a simple comp within AE and have my clients logo fly on behind their text while rotating in 3D space.
The idea is for it to rotate on the X axis, but rotate within the logo itself (straight through the axis within the logo itself)
But when I try to rotate it, the AP is about 2.5 "logo depths" away from the logo, so when the rotation of any axis starts it looks ridiculous.
Are Adobe really trying to tell us that moving the AP is not possible within AE for imported Live Photoshop PSD files?
Hopefully a solution comes along soon as I cannot for the life of me figure out a workaround to the problem......
    Cheers,
    Paul.

  • How to change the registration point on a shape

    Hi,
Is there a way to change the registration point on a shape
created in Director? For instance, I created a filled oval, and by
default Director sets the top left corner of the surrounding square
as the registration point. Nevertheless, I need to place that
registration point at the center of the oval.
    Best regards.

Hi, if you create a shape vector from director, the reg point
is in the center of it; if you import a vector created in other
aplication (flash), the regpoint is in the top left corner. To
change the regpoint of an imported shape, try this:
put your shape in the stage in x,y = 0,0 position, then, if
your shape rect is 12,8 pixs, and if you want to move the regpoint
    to the center of it
    on preparemovie me
    member("yourshape").regpoint = point(6,4)
    end
play and stop the movie, your shape will change the regpoint
    to 6,4
remove the script, and that's all.
    Best regards.

  • Cropping: image disappears; how to change mm to points

A couple of issues I don't know how to resolve...One, when I crop an image, the image totally disappears and the window reduces to a tiny square on the screen. there is nothing there, even when enlarged. What is happening and how can it be fixed? The other is a minor annoyance...my font size changed to mm, instead of poitns and I don't know how to change it back. Thanks!

    Hi, Lettergirl!
Your first issue, Cropping, may be a few things, but your crop may be set to a very small value. With your Crop Tool active, take a look at your Options Bar. Are there any values in the text fields? If so, press the reset button on the right, circled below.
As for the second issue, this can be resolved in your preferences. Press Command K to enter your Preferences, then click on Units & Rulers on the left. Now you can change the default Type unit.
Let us know if that helps!

  • How to change hal mount options

Sorry if discussed before, i couldn't find this information.
How do I change the default options of hal for mounting external devices? Particularly, I want it to mount every single pendrive with codepage=850.
    Thanks in advance.

For the most part you don't need to mess with udev. Udev is for the device nodes themselves, whereas hal is for mounting them (among other things).
Hal can be configured by adding files to /etc/hal/. It's very nasty, though - they're in XML.
    The documentation:
    http://people.freedesktop.org/~david/ha … -spec.html
    Default configuration files:
    /usr/share/hal/fdi/
Don't edit them, make files in /etc/hal instead.
    My config:
    cat /etc/hal/fdi/policy/user.fdi
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <deviceinfo version="0.2">

  • Increase DBFS file size without changing the mount point

    Dear All,
We have 1 TB disk space (available is 890GB*) allocated as Content server for Storing File.
We use DBFS Mode for Storing Documents.
We have one mountpoint which points to the above content server.
Now, the scenario is only 10% of Space is remaining in content Server.
No Doubt we have new content server of 1 tb but adding it in DBFS will create new mountpoint which is not advisable for ongoing projects.
    Appreciate your suggestions.
    Regards,
    Chinmay Joshi

    Hi,
    So to be sure:
    1. Your Portal Server with the KM repository DBFS
    ...points to...
    2. Your Content Server is configured with a FS Repository Storage
    3. Repository  resides on 1TB data storage
Can you not just add the 1TB additional storage to the existing storage?
Possibly a restart is needed of the content server to make the enlarged storage available.
Other option is to create a new storage location with, lets say, 2TB and export/import the data to it.
    Cheers,
    Benjamin

how do you add an external volume and change the mount point for users and groups?

There are no volume automation curves in the iPad version of GarageBand, but you can add a fade-out:
    http://help.apple.com/garageband/ipad/2.0/index.html#chs2a762fad
    Add a fade-out
You can add an automatic fade-out to the end of a song. When you turn on Fade Out, the last ten seconds of the song fade to silence. If you extend the last section by adding or moving regions, the fade-out adjusts to the new end of the song. You hear the fade-out when you play or share the song, but not while recording.
    Open the song settings.
    Turn Fade Out on.
Tap Fade Out again to turn off the automatic fade-out.
