How to DEBUG a function module running in background mode? Please help!

Hi Experts,
   I am calling a function module in my ABAP code in background module using the following syntax:
CALL FUNCTION 'YBBC2_CREATE_SNAPSHOT' IN BACKGROUND TASK
          TABLES
            itab_std_format_inv = itab_std_format_inv
            itab_snapshot_inv = itab_snapshot_inv.
        COMMIT WORK.
If I put the breakpoint in the CALL FUNCTION line and execute the program, the debugger does not take me to the valled function module. This may be because I am running the function module as background task.
I cannot comment this "IN BACKGROUND TASK" statement as well since i am debugging in Quality system where I don't have change access.
So how to DEBUG a function module running in background mode? Please help!

Hi,
You could try to use the following trick:
(1) Put an endless loop into the coding of your function module where you want to start debugging, e.g.
DATA:
    lx_exit_loop(1)     TYPE c.
lx_exit_loop = ' '.
DO.
    IF ( lx_exit_loop = 'X' ).
      EXIT.
    ENDIF.
ENDDO.
(2) Call your function module in background task
(3) Call transaction SM50 and search for the background process.
(3) Choose from menu Program/Mode -> Program -> Debugging
Now you the debugger should bring you right to your endless loop. Set lx_loop_exit = 'X' in the debugger and continue (F5 or F6).

How to check if function module exist

Hi All!
Does anyone know how to check if function module, which name is provided by the user, exists?
I have to execute a function but when user provides a incrrect name - i receive a short dump. I would like to chceck if this function exists before execution and if not - warn user with message box.

the RBS maintainer was run from one of web front end server And for one content database , that fine
but I now know this information only this did by other administrators.
Now I did not found this Maintainer running in windows task scheduler, but blobs are decreasing from content database RBS storage folder, and　 also I found this maintainer running I checked from when　 run sql queriy in 　sql

How to control sequence of Function Modules processed in update task?

Hello,
I've some questions regarding following process that needs to be extended: a Function Module (FM) 'Save' calls several other FM e.g. 'X1' and 'X2' in update task. Those update modules are independent from each other and write data to the database that finalize the save process.
Now a third FM 'X3' needs to be called in update task. This one is also independent from 'X1' and 'X2' but it calls a further FM 'X4' in background task as separate unit which starts a job. This job requires the data from FM 'X1' and 'X2' already persistent on the database. By the way: the FM 'X3' triggers the Access Control Engine (ACE) notification that calculates the authorization data in the mentioned job. Therefore this process needs to be the last FM call in update task in the queue of calls in FM 'Save'.
Questions:
(1) Is it possible to control the process sequence of the FM 'in update task' simply by the sequence they are called in FM 'Save'.
(2) Presumed that all FM beside 'X3' have processing type "Update with immediate start" or "Immediate start, no restart" (in short V1) would it be another solution to specify FM 'X3' with type 'Delayed' to control the process sequence? When a delayed FM will be processed?
(3) Is it uncritical to call in FM 'X3' (already running in update task) the FM 'X4' with addition in background task as separate unit that furthermore starts a job by an event? I'm afraid that this nesting could lead to unexpected errors.

Function Module 'Save_text' in update task of Vl01n

Hi Friends,
My requirement is, when i save a delivery document, the 'Material Sales text' in delivery has to be updated with custom details.
It is good that we can code the function module 'Save_text' in update task in the exit provided for VL01n - Delivery creation right.
At saving of delivery, we can use the set, get parameters to get the delivery document no and pass it to the Function module 'Save_text' in update task. Hope this will work.
Correct me if i am wrong.

Bascially performing a function on an indexed column in the where clause of a query guaranteed an index would not be used. From Oracle 8i onwards introduced Function Based Indexes to counter this problem.

i am using JNI which are 64 bit . libraries looks well at their proper place.
but stll i m facing error
[java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/native_bin/mylib.so: ld.so.1: java: fatal: /xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/native_bin/mylib.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64]]
i want to confirm about bit mode of running JVM as it should be 64 bit.
i m using solaris 9. can any body tell how to check running JVM bit mode that is (wheather it is 32 bit or 64 bit)

How to check whether JVM is running in interpreted mode

I have launched JVM with -Xint option , but thread dump file doesn't include Monitor cache dump. AppServer is starting with -Xint but it is not logging Monitor Cache Dump. How will I check whether JVM is running in interpreyed mode or any other way to get Monitor Cache dump in Thread dump?

How to check which form is running on web

Hello.
Is it possible to check which form is running on web, on AS?
When you go on AS to forms/user session node, you can only see config name of forms (or form name if you haven't set config)
We have set our configuration for running forms in formsweb.cfg under configuration section.
Now under user session we can only see config name and not which forms is running currently under this config (user can access many forms in this configuration).
Is there some other way to check which form is currently running (and by which user) under the config?

How to check the way table S066 is updated through VKM3

Hello Experts!
I'm debbuging transaction VKM3. This is used to release open orders. Within this functionality infostructure S066 (credit managment for open orders) will be updated.
My problem is that I can't see the values it's using to update the table because it is being updated through a "commit work and wait" statement.
this is where the update takes place:
include MV45AF0B_BELEG_SICHERN
    if call_function = space or us_syncron = charx.
    if us_syncron = space.
        commit work.
    else.
       commit work and wait. " This is getting executed
    endif.
I've already activated the update mode debugging (so it's calling all the update functions registered through "call fucntion in update task"), but I think it's calling some system functions (not sure about it).
Is there a way to check how the update takes place?

Yes there is another way where you view the values used to update S066.
As Rob said you can get the details through ST05.
Else after we do the UPDATE DEBUGGING ON and once a COMMIT WORK statement is encounted then the debugging session will open in another screen there goto menu path Breakpoints->Breakpoints at->Statement----"UPDATE"....
Similary for "INSERT" & for "MODIFY". This will stop at all the DB tables update where in if S066 is updated then definetly it will stop at S066 UPDATE.
Please try this once and let me know if any.

Let me explain clearly
I have to generate daily attendance for lot of employees So i have two table t1 and t2
T1 consist of three column empno,date,time
T2 consist of empno,name,date,intime,outtime,intrin,introut
So now i need to give the T1 Min value Of time to T2 Intime and T1 Max value of Time to T2 Outtime fields so there so many records while i am using
max(time) it gives the max value of all so i seperated by group function so now i have an error in subquery ie it is an single row subquery so i need to use multiple row subquery how i can use multiple row subquery in update statement

Function Module called in Update Task

Hi Gurus,
We are calling Sales Order Change in update task inside the user Exit MV50FZ1. We can see that the FM is called in update task after the commit work and the return of the FM shows the success message. But still the changes are not saved to the DB.
Can any one help me out with this one.

If two commit works are called in update task the update will end up with error. Check whether any Commit work is present in the funtion module? If so you may use it in some other method like at save or something like that.
