In System Preferences the Software Update no longer has an "Installed Updates" option. How do you check for these updates?

In the System Information application (Utilities folder) you can see a complete list of installations in the Software/Installations category.

Hi Rasheed,
To quickly check if the campaign has been uploaded from MSA to the server, you can check the TR_STATUS column on the SMOPCCAMPN table for your campaign, if the value is P000 or P*** then it has been uploaded to the server and is waiting for confirmation, if the status is O, it has been uploaded and created in the server.

How to find what app has been deleted

I frequently get my phone out of my pocket and see a blank space on the screen where an app used to be. I guess just the movement somehow double taps the home button, chooses and app and then says yes to delete it. As I have a password protected phone I'm not sure how this happens, but it drives me crazy. I can't find anyway to see which app is gone, there is no way to look at history or undo deletes that I can tell.
So am I missing something, is there a way to resolve this and actually see what has been deleted. I think this is such a stupid design. I can just imagine how people with younger kids must forever be getting apps deleted and then no way to find it until you are searching for it and remember exactly what it is called.

I suspect that something else may be wrong (only because it seems unlikely that all of the steps you mention would inadvertently happen once much less multiple times). Note that I don't doubt what you are seeing in terms of an app suddenly being gone.
One thing that my help see what app is missing is to open the App Store app then tap Updates at lower right then tap Purchased at the top and look for apps that have an icon of a cloud with a down arrow to the right of their name instead of the word "Open." That may be a useful suggestion or may not be very useful depending on how many apps and devices you have since it is going to show you all Purchased apps that are not on your phone.

In Eclipse link there are Entity listeners which will define the life cycle events like preInsert(),postInsert() etc.On successful insertion of an object its postInsert() life cycle method gets called.If you have to validate whether object inserted successfully then best place is to override the postInsert() and check for the existence of the record.All the event life cycle methods take a DescriptorEvent as parameter which will give handle to API as given below.In the same method you can check if this insert operation succeeded in the same transaction.

HT4623 How long should the restart take after the software has been installed?

Its already been an hour and the bar is barely moving

Same here on two Macs, a Mid 2012 MBPro Retina/SSD and a Mid-2011 27" iMac. I waited two hours for the "Restarting" dialog to disappear on the MBPro and then I forced a shutdown and restarted. That worked and did not cause any apparent problems. I went to bed last night with the "Restarting" dialog on the iMac and it was still there this morning. I forced a restart and it, too, seems OK.
My guess is you should expect this to go on forever, or until you force a restart.
This is why I do SuperDuper backups of my machines before updating the OS, and I disconnect the backup drives before updating.

Changing the UID & GID after CRS, ASM, RDBMS software has been installed

I have 10 servers with inconsistent UID’s & GID’s, all running a single node cluster setup (11.22.0.3). I am wanting to make ALL of these servers consistent and can do so with a simple command run as root
find / -uid oracle –exec chown 777 {} \;
find / -gid oracle –exec chgrp 777 {} \;
I am really trying to do this without reinstalling software all over the place. But, I can not get Oracle support to sanction this.
Any ideas from you folks???

I would be glad to dispute that this has anything to do with "best practice" as defined by any reasonable measure.
As to manageability ... thumbs down there too. As an Oracle DBA UID and GID should be invisible to you. So I'm really interested in the specifics of what "pain" you are actually feeling.
Simply put ... if you worked for me ... I'd tell you go to find some real work to do unless you could point to something concrete that would have a positive effect on productivity.
And then, of course, we could endlessly debate why Oracle doesn't support what you want but that, to me at least, is secondary.

It will not download if you already have it.
Just to be 100% clear …
Look in /Applications for "Install OS X Mavericks"
Use the Finders Go menu > Applications. To open it.
You may have an Applications folder in your Home directory too, it shouldn't be in there but it is possible.
Also try Spotlight to see if it can find that filename.
Can you also tell us what system you have?
Apple menu > About this Mac > more info button… What is the Model (under the Overview tab).
10.9 doesn't install on all systems, so it could explain why you can't get it, however it usually displays a dialog stating that fact.

I went to Apple Chat and they lead me through a power down and start up with Recovery Disc Utility (Hold down Apple and R keys when powering up).
Then was instructed to run Disk Recovery and it showed HD was error free. Then a reboot started up fine to desktop and showed update to 10.9.2 had been installed. I am guessing the internet connection my have been interrupted during the install.

Re-installing does not affect your Library in any way. You don't delete it, only the app.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

I have had the same problem for WEEKS and I cannot access any sites that use Flash. Flash has been installed on this computer since I bought it in 2012. I have allowed auto updates but for weeks the updates never get past Step 2 - is this because I do NOT want the Google Tool bar? I use NO tool bars as there is only 6 inches of vertical screen space. Is this because I uncheck wanting Chrome as a default browser? It is already installed, I just don't use it. I came to this site and ran the check is it installed and the system says it is either not installed or not enabled. Version 14 just downloaded about 30 minutes ago - but did not progress to Step 3 although a pop up screen came up with a finish button, which I clicked. WHAT is the problem and how do I fix it? If this were just a compatibility bug between IE11 and Adobe they have had plenty of time to fix it.
