How to close other thread's InputStream?

Hi,
I am developing a multithreaded "JAVA CONSOLE APPLICATION".
Brief description of application is like this:
On initialising, application starts a new thread. In that it listens for the keyboard input from the user(System.in.read()). But it listens only for some time (5 seconds). After this time, this should be stopped and in main thread which is listening for the server application, should display information from the server and listen for the keyboard input from the user.
But the problem is, it listens for two keyboard inputs. 1 in main thread and another in other thread as it doesn't get closed even though the thread is stopped.
So how to close that InputStream so that application should listen for keyboard only in main thread?

Not really sure if this works, as your description isn't clear.
But for sockets, the following works :
public void run { //the Threads/Runnable run method
   try {
      //do your stuff
   } finally {
      try {
         is.close(); //supposed 'is' is your InputStream
      } catch (IOException e) {}
}Now, whenever the thread terminates, the InputStream will be closed.
Maybe even if you use Thread.stop(), but this is deprecated,
so better use Thread.interrupt() and flags.

How to use threads in JSP???

hello
i want to use threads with JSP.
i want to write a jsp page which will
start 2 different threads. the 1st thread should just display a message and the second page should redirect this page to another jsp page.
till the redirection is goin on, the message should be displayed in the browser from the 1st thread.
i dont know actually how to use threads in JSP by implementing the Runnable insterface, if not m then how do i do it ??

Why do you want to use threads to do this ??
If you write a message and do a redirection, the message will be displayed until the other page will be loaded into the browser...
I already launched a thread from a JSP but it was for a four hour process where the user can close his browser windows.

How to finish thread, listening to a socket input?

Can anybody tell me how to correctly interrupt/close thread, listening to a socket input from a server?
I have a separate thread which listens to an input from server. When a client disconnects from server, it should be closed. I do:<p>

Thread th=new Thread(myRunnable);
th.start();
Thread old=th;
th=null;
old.interrupt();

But nevertheless I get a SocketException. This is because in thread I use<p>

public void run()
MyMessage incoming=null;
while((incoming=(MyMessage)reader.readObject())!=null)
</code>
and I/O methods are blocking current thread's running process. Is this technics correct? Any other suggestions?

There have been issues with achieving consistent interruption of I/O across all platforms. The recommended approach seems to be to close the socket that the other thread is using, rather than interrupting the other thread.
If you first set a flag (declare it volatile) before closing the socket, you can use the fact that this flag is set as an indication in the other thread that the exception it gets should just be ignored.

How to close extended classic PO in ECC...

Hi Friends...
We are in SRM 7.02 and ECC 6.05 in Extended Classic Scenario. One PO had been created for 1 Quantity 3 years ago. There was no GR/IR document posted against that PO. Now that PO had been archieved from SRM. But still PO is available in ECC with open quantity and also its appearing in the open PO report. Now requester wanted, the PO to be closed in ECC and shouldnot appear in the open PO list.
How to handle this situation.. How to close the extended classic PO in ECC at this scenario. As PO not available in SRM, we can not do anything from SRM side.
Your inputs are appreciated....

PO_ITEM                        = 00010

After the update I don't know how to close running apps? I recall double clicking the main button then hold one app until they begin a jiggling motion. But that no longer works.

You still double tap the home button and the apps are lined up across the screen. Swipe up on the app preview thumbnail - drag it up off of the screen - and that will close the app.

That's what I was trying, but I guess I was doing so to quickly. Once I slowed down they finally moved. Now ... if the former Apps wouldn't crash I'd be all set, ROFL. Going to be a learning curve for the developers as well I think.

How to close apps on iPhone 4

I tried everything it says from the web from pressing the hold button 2 times and bottom shows the apps but cannot get the minus sign or get them to wiggle like people say anyone know how to close apps like this. mINE DOES NOT WORK SUPPOSE TO GET A MINUS SIGN OR HOLD TO WIGGLE NO LUCK.

We are using SAP 8.8
how to close Goods Receipt PO that has been pulled to A/P Invoice with a partial amount of freight ?
i.e.
Our GRPO has freight 5000.
On pressing COPY FROM button in A/P invoice we selected that GRPO
On Pressing Customize button
Items in the GRPO appear
We selected all items and press next
Freight appears
We edited freight amount from 5000 to 3000 and pulled GRPO into invoice and saved.
After this OUR GRPO and freight remains
Guidance in this is really needed as we want to tally stock

Does it happen all the time like this reversal of entry?
Like how you tested in demo this kind of scenario I would suggest you to do this excercise too.
So that you get knowledge about that and Today you are asking this doubt but after doing this excercise you will come to know the exact effect and next time you can suggest this to others if he has same problem and will become expert in SAP
