How to configure crystal report 2013 with oracle 11g

hey all,
i download trial version SAP Crystal Report 2013 and i have Database with 11g and i want to connect with my database and try to develop reports
but my issue is that i'm not able to connect with database. Can anyone please help to connect with database.
i am new be with oracle database so it will help me if any one go thru step by step or any link,

Hi Sandip,
All you need is a 32-bit Oracle driver to be installed on the machine you're developing the reports on.
If you already have both the 64-bit and the 32-bit drivers, make sure the Path variable under 'system variables' points to the 32-bit home.
You can then either create an ODBC DSN or use the 'Oracle Server' native driver that shows under 'Database Expert' to create the report.

How to configure crystal reports from xml file as data source in Solaris? I didn't find any suitable driver for xml / excel files for sun solaris.
Which driver i have to use to connect xml file to crystal report to view my crystal report in solaris BOE?
And the same way excel file as data source for crystal report.

In windows environment I donot have any problem when creating crystal report from Xml file and Excel file. After creating reports when I publish those into boe server in solaris, getting connection failed error.
My solaris BOE server doent have any network connection with windows machines. So i have to place the files in solaris server.
Below the steps what I tried:
1. Created crystal reports from cr designer in windows using ADO.Net(xml) and in another try with Xml webservices drivers. Reports works well as it should.
2. Saved in BOE repository in Solaris server from crystal reports and changed database configuration settings as:
 -Used custom database logon information and specified cr_xml as custom driver.
 -Chnaged database path to file directory path according to solaris server file path </app/../../>
 -tried table prefix also
 - Selected radio button use same database logon as when report is run saved.
My environment :
SAP BOXI3.1 sp3
crystal reports 2008 sp3
SunOS
Cr developing in windows 7.
For Excel I tried with ODBC in windows but I can't find any ODBC or JDBC drivers for Excel in solaris.
Any help to solve my issues

How to configure multiple report servers in Oracle 10 G R2?

I want to configure multiple report servers with my application deployed on Oracle 10G R2. Since R2 does not support report server clustering, how can this be achieved without any change in the application?

Well we are trying to run a report without exactly specifying the name of reports server anywhere, e.g. in database or in form or anywhere else. Now if I do not supply a reports server name using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT, the error it displays is FRM-41211: Integration Error : SSL failure ... However if I specify the reports server name in the form, the reports run perfect. Also the name of reports server is specified in rwservlet.properties.
Now the question goes as follows:
Can I run my report from Form without specifying the name of the Reports server anywhere at all. This is so because either an in-process reports server should be picked or the one which is entered in rwservlet.properties should be pickec up by default. Please correct us if we are wrong. once we are through with it, we have to move to Oracle 10gR2 concept of reports server.

How to integrate Crystal Report 2008 with java

Currently we are using Crystal Report XI with our application, it is working fine. Now we are updating to Crystal Report 2008.
We have build our application in enterprise archive file. There is a web archive file(.war) file in the EAR file which contains the crystal report. Inside the .war file we have reports folder which contain jsps and rpt folder. the jsps folder contains the crystalreportviewers12 folder and .jsp files. The rpt folder contain the.rpt files. The WEB-INF which is at the reports folder leavel contains the classes and lib folder. The crystal report jars are in the lib folder and the CRConfig.xml file inside the classes folder. I replaced all the crystal report jar with Crystal Report 2008 jars, modified the web.xml and the CRConfig.xml file accordingly. When I opened the report it gave me an error.
When the following line was execuated in the jsp:

Hello Ted,
As per the samples in the link provided by you I identified that the following statement was missing.
reportClientDocument.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);
After adding this statement the jsp was not able to compile, it gave me an error:
ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString cannot be resolved
Now my queries are:
1. What is Report Application server(RAS)?
2. Is it required to set Report application server in JSP page? It was not required in Crystal Reports XI. If YES, then how to configure RAS inside our applications WAR file?
3. I am using WebSphere Application Server for deploying the WEB Archive file (WAR file). The Crystal Reports 2008 library (JARS) are embedded inside the WEB-INF/lib folder. How to specify the RAS server inside thhe WAR file? Is it some XML configuration file which we have to keep at WEB-INF level? Or we have to modify the existing CRConfig.xml file?
4. I would like to mention here that we have bundled crystalreportviewers12/ folder in our WAR file at the same level where reports JSP pages exits.

How to configure Crystal Report from Test DB to Production DB

Hi,
I have a VB/asp.net application that is currently using Oracle DB.
Now, I'm creating a new Crytal report that will connect using any userID, password, database, servername on runtime.
When I created the Crystal Report I used the Oracle OLE/DB connection using the test database logon information now I would like to make this dynamic at form load event which I have my crystal report viewer configured and then pass the dataset regardless if it is coming from test or production database.
Now, at form load connection using the test database I can see the report properly which I provided with the same logon information when the crystal report was created but when I switch the login using the production database, it doesn't get the correct datasource and logon information and it still uses the test datasource.
I would appreaciate if you can give me a solution or any links of the previous threads that has similar issue with resolution or any sample that may help.

Next, I find the Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005 Walkthroughs to be an absolute gem (and it applies to all versions of CR and VS).
And of course, the developer help files:

Now, one thing you don't mention is which APIs you are using; CR, or RAS - both of which may be available to you depending on the version of CR and VS you are using... RAS Developer Help files are here:

The RAS APIs are a bit more complicated, but way more powerful. And there is even a utility that will write the DB logon code for you:

Finally, don't forget to search this SCN Space. Search box is in the top right corner. I find using short search string is best. E.g.; 'crystal net logon' will return a number of KBAs (notes), wikis, blogs, etc., etc.

How to open Crystal report 9 with crystal report 8

Hi All,
I was using Crystal report 9(Seagate Crystal Report). I prepared report on crystal report 9.
Now I am using Crystal report 8(Seagate Crystal Report).
When I try to open my reports(that was build on version 9) it gives error: *"Failed to open document"*
and *"Invalid report version".*
Could any one please suggest me how I can open and use report of version 9 with version 8.

How to configure Crystal Reports 2008 and IIS7 and Windows Server 2008?

I have downloaded and installed the trial for Crystal Reports 2008 on our Windows 2008 server. I can open Crystal Reports on the server just fine, but I get HTTP 500 errors when I attempt to view a report hosted on that server via the web.
As far as I can tell, the handler mappings in IIS7 are not configured properly, although I confirmed that the Crystal Reports 2008 install did add several handlers. I read that I must configure the application pool to enable 32-bit applications. I did that and am still getting the same error. Documentation seems sparse and I've spent the better part of the day searching the forum here with no luck. What am I missing?

We will ultimately be using ASPX/C#, but this simple case has a very basic report with no databind, just a single text label that reads "test succeeded" and I'm attempting to access it by direct URL (i.e. "http://192.168.99.21/crystalreportviewers12/test.rpt"). This works on our Windows 2000 server running Crystal Reports 8.
I've also tested with a simple test.aspx file with only the line "Response.Write(System.DateTime.Now.ToString())" and that works just fine. This file is in the same folder as the test.rpt file.
If I leave the Application Pool set for the "Integrated" managed pipeline mode, I continue to get a rather generic "500 - Internal server error". If I switch it to "Classic", I get the following error:

Issues in running crystal reports 2013 with SOQL as a datasource

We have some crystal reports created in CR 2008 with command as a data source and all the commands are written in SOQL pulling data from SFDC, now when I open and run those reports in crystal report designer 2013 it is giving below errors:

We are running crystal reports in both the version with system admin user who has access to all the objects in SFDC. It works well for CR 2008 but not for CR 2013, means relationship is not an issue.
We have done some analysis and found that if the field in query contains two periods (.) it is not recognising that field, if we remove that field from query, CR 2013 takes that as a valid statement.
Any help or suggestions on this issue would be a great help.

I am trying to connect to an Oracle database to report from. it is version 10.1.0.5i have Oracle Instant Client 10.1.0.4 and the corresponding odbc that came with it.From within crystal reports i am getting very odd results when connecting to the oracle database.if i log in via odbc, i see only some of the tables and some of those tables are under different users. Also, most of the views are not available, the ones that are, are not distinguished from the tables, ie views and tables appear in the "tables" list.if i log in via the oracle native client i can see all the tables and views, but again they are not broken into a "Views" and "Tables" list.when i do get the view i require, it intermittantly returns data and takes a very long time. If i run the same view in TSQL, it processes fast and returns many records. I can copy and paste the crystal SQL into TSQL and the correct data is returned, but in crystal i get 0 records, if it returns at all. I am logging onto the Oracle server as the same user for both ODBC and Oracle native.I am currently trying updating the Oracle Instant Client to v10.1.0.5 to match the server. Any suggestions would be very appreciated! Truby

your id may not have rights to all the oracle tables, if you are the oracle admin, you can correct that, if not, someone will need to do that for you. If the oracle db is not indexed, indexing will help speed up retrieves. (index by a time stamp, or customer number if available) Check your db options in CR to see if (Group on server) is checked. Are the views just plain old views, or are they doing something wonderfull (I have views that call functions that produce data) these views do take some time to run. Start by verifying that your ODBC Connection ID has rights to all the tables you need..... Hope this helps.

Hi Guys, Actually I am new to crystal reports and I just join job in crystal. We use crystal9 and oracle9i.We have date field in a table and some field values are Null(But in a report Null value shows some date value by default)So I want to create formula for those null date vaule such that null value comes to report as blank space.Like if(date field IsNULL) then date=' ' else date field.If anybody have a idea how to do this just send me that formula at my email id <a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a> Thanks
