How to configure NT Realm through weblogic 7.0

Hi,
What I need is request.getRemoteUser() not returning "null". Someone told me that
i'll have it if I configure a NT Realm on my weblogic server. But I can't find how
to do that!?
Thanks everyone!
Ben

Vipul,
Can you try adding them as the first entry in the classpath in the
startWebLogic.smd file.

  • How to configure security realm for Active Directory ?

    Hi,
Can any body suggest how to configure security realm in weblogic 8.1
I have simple login page where in user can enter his credentials, and i have MS-Active Directory where we maintain all users.
users who loged into web application has to be authenticated from Active Directory.
please suggest what are the steps that we need to follow
    thanks in advance

    Hi Sankar,
You can login to the weblogic server admin console and create a new realm.
Once you have created the realm you can add the authentication provider. You add the Active Authentication Provider. But you must have the the configuration inforamation of MS AD.You can read my blog http://dev2dev.bea.com/blog/bishnu_kumar/
where the integration is with iPlanet LDAP.Steps will be similar.
You must have a login portlet in your portal application and that should have been in accordance with j2ee security standards. For example you may use basic authentication or userlogin control or p13n API

You can use WLST or weblogic.Admin command. WLST is the recommended appraoch. Here are a few links for both of the above:

  • How to configure IIS webserver with weblogic so that I can invoke servlets without the .wlforward extension

How to configure IIS webserver with weblogic so that I can
invoke servlets without the .wlforward extension
As per the documentation iisforward.dll is registered as a filter and .wlforward
    has also been
included as a special file type. However this requires me to key-in ".wlforward"
    after my servlet name.
What I want is something like this
    http://iis/MyServlet
Please help me find a solution to this
    Thanks,

I am able to invoke the servlet without the wlforward extension now.
However, now I am required to add /weblogic before the servlet
name otherwise it does not execute the pathtrim property.
I have tried with the pathprepend thing also.
Can we get rid of the /weblogic part also. I just want to execute
    my servlet as http://iis/myServlet.
Your help in this regard is greatly appreciated...
    Thanks..

    Thanks for the reply Kumar.
I did follow the instructions as given in the Weblogic documentation
The documentation said to add iisforward.dll as a filter service
and register .wlforward as a special
file type to be handled by iisproxy.dll. For this,
while configuring the IIS server in the Home Directory tab
I added an extension ".wlforward" and the executable as
iisproxy.dll. Is this the way it should have been done...
I also modified the iisproxy.ini file as per the documentation.
I have added the WLForwardPath property and set it to /weblogic.
My server works fine when I give the url as
    http://iis/myServlet.wlforward
but it does not work for
http://iis/myServlet and this is the way i'd want it to work.
Please tell me if I am missing something on the configuration part
and if there is something special that needs to be done. I shall
    be grateful to you.

  • How to configure JMS server in weblogic

    Hi,
I want to configure JMS server in weblogic. So please send me needful link.
    Regards
    Anup

    Hi Anup,
    1. The first thing you have to do is create a filestore where messages will be stored. Look at the below link for more detailed instructions:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/stores/CreateFileStores.html
    2. Next create a JMS server. Look at the below link for more detailed instructions
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/jms_servers/ConfigureJMSServers.html
    3. Now, create a JMS System Module to hold the JMS resources like Queues, Topics, Connection Factory, SAF agents etc..
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/jms_modules/modules/ConfigureJMSModules.html
    4. Now, create a resource like connection factory OR queue etc.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/jms_modules/modules/ConfigureJMSModuleResources.html
For now, lets stick to the basics and create a basic queue using the below documentation unless you exactly know what resource you want to create
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/jms_modules/queues/CreateQueues.html
    5. You will also need to create a connection factory to use the resource. See below documentation
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/jms_modules/connection_factories/CreateConnectionFactories.html
Please go through the below JMS architecture diagram as well as documentation that will tell you what JMS on WebLogic is all about in terms of configuration

You may still need to define the role in the weblogic.xml file in order for deployment descriptor-based role definition to work (alternatively you could use the WebLogic Server console to define the role and policy).
You can specify your role "testrole" as "externally-defined" as opposed to mapping it to specific principals.
    See http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs92/webapp/weblogic_xml.html#wp1040908

  • 10.3, how to configure cluster as "single Weblogic server"

    Hello,
We have a Cluster with Two Managed servers. The ports for the MS's are 7002, 7003. We want deployments for these servers to be visible through port 80/443. Currently we have Mapviewer application deployed and targeted to the cluster. All servers are RUNNING and the deployment is active. However we are only able to access the deployment on ports 7002, 7003.
The documentation states: "A WebLogic Server cluster consists of multiple WebLogic Server server instances running simultaneously and working together to provide increased scalability and reliability. A cluster appears to clients to be a single WebLogic Server instance."
But nowhere does it state how to get a cluster to appear as a "single Weblogic server instance". Where does this happen in the admin console or config files? Perhaps its a node manager function? Please help. Thank you.

Thank you. I was beginning to think it was something external to Weblogic. I saw alot in the docs about Load Balancing within Weblogic but didn't read much into it. I'm assuming its more at the application level? Anyhow..
Reading the description of the FrontEndHttpPort config option for Clusters made me think it was the solution:
"Sets the FrontendHTTPPort for the default webserver (not virtual hosts) for all the servers in the cluster. Provides a method to ensure that the webapp will always have the correct PORT information, even when the request is coming through a firewall or a proxy. If this parameter is configured, the HOST header will be ignored and the information in this parameter will be used in its place, when constructing the absolute urls for redirects."
I would set FrontendHTTPPort to 80, restart everything and get strange results. If I typed in http://localhost:7003/mapviewer it will redirect browser to http://localhost/mapviewer/faces/home.jspx and give a 404 type error. Using this new URL if I inserted the :7003 port again and hit go, the page would come up...but submitting a form or link on the page it would redirect back to port 80 and a 404 error. edit: this is probably working as intended.
So is there a popular solution or plugin for this issue?

  • How to Configure RDBMS Realm on WL6.0

We are trying to replace the default File Realm on WL6.0 with RDBMS Realm. We

    else
    sDbname = (String) ctx.lookup(FnxJndi.getDefaultDbJndiKey());

  • How to use RDBMS Realm in Weblogic Commerce Server?

    Hi All,
    Same as the subject.
    Thx
    Ray

You should read the security information in the Servlet 2.2 specification
    that WL 5.1 implements:
    http://java.sun.com/products/servlet/download.html
Chapter 11 deals with declarative and programmatic security, and includes a
    section on roles:
    11.4 Roles
A role is an abstract logical grouping of users that is defined by the
    Application Developer or
Assembler. When the application is deployed, these roles are mapped by a
    Deployer to security
identities, such as principals or groups, in the runtime environment.
A servlet container enforces declarative or programmatic security for the
    principal associated with
an incoming request based on the security attributes of that calling
    principal. For example,
    1. When a deployer has mapped a security role to a user group in the
    operational environment. The
user group to which the calling principal belongs is retrieved from its
    security attributes. If the
principal's user group matches the user group in the operational environment
    that the security
role has been mapped to, the principal is in the security role.
    2. When a deployer has mapped a security role to a principal name in a
    security policy domain, the
principal name of the calling principal is retrieved from its security
    attributes. If the principal is
the same as the principal to which the security role was mapped, the calling
    principal is in the
    security role.

  • How to configure SSL certificates on weblogic 10.3.5?

    Hi everybody,
i' ve got 2 certificates: Server and Intermediate CA. I used java keytool command to import these two certificates into new keystore:

java utils.ImportPrivateKey -keystore private.jks -storepass password -keyfile mykey -keyfilepass password -keyfile private.pem -alias private

    Any ideas? Thanks.
    Regards,
    Karolis M.

    Hello,
Weblogic has two keystores : identity (if you are doing 2 ways SSL) and trust. you should import your "external" certificate in the "trust" key store.
look at your server config to know your config : Home >Summary of Servers >AdminServer-->configuration-->keystore
I suggest that you change the default configuration (not using the demo one),
then when you know where is yo key store use the command line to add your certificate to trusted store (this is a example) :
opt/weblogic10_3_3/jdk160_18/jre/bin/keytool -import -noprompt -trustcacerts -alias BLCCertificateAuthority -file cacert2035.pem -keystore /opt/weblogic10_3_3/jdk160_18/jre/lib/security/cacerts
once your certificated is added to your trust store it should work.
    I hope it will help.

    Appreciate your response
    Thanks and Regards

Expand Environment > Click on Server > Click on Keystores Tab
Under Keystores you have some options like DemoIdentity & Demo Trust.
If u want to use the default keystores, you dont have to modify these configuations.
Just enable SSL and specify the listen port.
Expand Environment > Click on Server > General
    SSL Listen Port Enabled
    SSL Listen Port:
If u want to use your own keystore Select Custom Identity and Custom Trust besides Keystores Drop Down and specify the require values.
If u need any clarification let me knw.

  • How to configure WebCenter runtime on WebLogic server

    Hi,
I have exposed my existing ADF 11g application as a portlet based on the inputs that I got from Re: Exposing Existing ADF application as a portlet in WebCenter . I'm able to deploy this and run this in the embedded WebLogic server that comes with JDev. But I'm getting an error when I try to deploy it on an standalone WebLogic Server? Do I need to anytshing specific to configure WebCenter run time? Currently, I just have ADF run time configured on the server. Please let me know.
    Regards,
    Antony.

You have to install webcenter. It's a rather large installation.
You can find the download here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/downloads/fmw-11-download-092893.html
The one you are looking for is:
    WebCenter Suite (11.1.1.2.0)
And if you are running WLS 10.3.3 you also need to install
WebCenter Suite (11.1.1.3.0) (after installing the 11.1.1.2.0)
And don't forget to first run the RCU which you also need to download if you haven't already done so
Repository Creation Utility (11.1.1.3.3) (if you are using WLS 10.3.3 with Webcenter 11.1.1.3)
or Repository Creation Utility (11.1.1.2.1) (if you are using WLS 10.3.2 with webcenter 11.1.1.2)
If the installation askes to install UCM, don't check this on because otherwhise you also need to download UCM:
    Content Management for WebCenter (10.1.3.5.1)
After the installation is done, you can run the configuration tool from the WLS to create a new domain and then you can select the webcenter components you want to install in the domain.
