How to copy automation curves in between parameters

Is it possible, to copy Specific automation curves between different parameters in Lofic pro X?
I know you can copy and paste automation curves from one track to another, but I can't remember if doing it from one parameter to other is possible.
If I want the exact automation curve that I did for my volume, to be used on the same ( or another ) track, but on a tremolo, How do you do that?
Whenever I try to paste it, it pastes to the same parameter ( Volume Curve to Volume parameter, etc. )
Edit:
I found the answer on another discussion, Use Comand,

In project one, open the Automation Event List for the region in question, select all, goto project two, do the same but use paste instead.
Slightly awkward perhaps, but it works. It would have been easier if the automation would just follow the regions when you drag them between projects.
Edit: the Automation Event List is only available as a KC, Ctrl + Cmd + E as default.

  • How to copy and paste formulas between documents in numbers 3.0?

I am unable to copy and paste formulas between 2 documents in numbers 3.0?

    Hi Hans,
I can get a reference error here if the destination table does not have that range available while the source table does.
Are you sure your desination table has exactly the same structure and dimensions as your source table?
If it does, copy/paste via the Formula Editor should work. It works reliably here.
Also the formula in your latest post looks as if it might be corrupted-- lots of extra spaces (it seems).  Did your orginal formula have those?
To sort this out, suggest turning off 'Use header names as labels' in Preferences.
If you end up with a formula in a cell as just Text (as Ian describes that's what happens when you copy from Numbers 2) you can convert that text to a formula by double-clicking the cell, clicking just before the text so that the insertion point appears in front of it and typing =. That activates the Formula Editor with the formula in it, which you can accept by clicking the green checkmark or hitting return.

  • HOW TO COPY AUTOMATION

If i have 1 track of lets say drums, and I want to automate them but dont feel like going to each drum sound and automating is there a way of copying the automation to each sound?

Best way is through the Automation folder. There used to be an assignable key command to get to this... why they eliminated it, I'll NEVER understand.
There is a way in though, through the automation event list, which is accessed via an assignable key command. I'm afraid I don't remember how to get into the automation folder from the automation event list window, but it should be pretty easy to figure out. Maybe someone else can jump in here...
I have automation window set up as a screen-set.
But essentially, the automation folder looks just like the arrange page, and all your automation is represented as regions, just like audio & MIDI regions look. Simply option/drag the automation regions, to copy.
A less glamorous way, but still functional, is to set in your automation preferences, to always "Ask" when you copy or move a region.
then simply copy the first drum region (with the automation written on it), to the other tracks. Yes, you'll be placing this overtop of existing regions. You should be given a prompt at this point "Do you want to copy the automation". Say "yes". Do this to every track you want to move the automation to.
When finished moving the regions, simply select the regions that you dragged, and hit the delete key. You will get a second prompt asking you "Do you want to Delete the automation as well". Say "No".
Your original regions will still be there, but now the automation has been copied.
    Hope that made sense. ...

  • Copy automation between tracks

    Hi everyone,
So sorry, this is probably very easy, but I've been checking out the manual and couldn't find it:
How to copy automation between tracks?
    Thanks very much,
    Nuno

    Hi,
It is something of a hidden feature, mentioned somewhere in the obscure depths of the manual. p. 594, the "tip".
Open the *Automation Event list* by hitting ctrl-⌥-E. Then open another Arrange window, ⌘-1. This second arrange window will contain regions that only hold automation. Those you can copy and move around without affecting Midi or audio placement.
    regards, Erik.

  • Non-GUI editing or import of automation curves?

I would like to generate some automation curves (for track volume) outside of garageband (from simple programs that I write myself) and somehow get them into garageband projects.
I can think of a couple of possible approaches:
    - If garageband has some sort of way of editing curves as text, so that I could paste in some text generated elsewhere, then that would be fantastic... but I'm guessing it doesn't.
    - If there's some other way of cutting/pasting pasting curves, even if it's not text, then maybe I could figure out how to make that work... that would take care of the "paste" part, but depending on the details it might be trickly to get my generated curves into the clipboard...
    - If I could find where/how curves are represented in .band files (actually directories) then I could mess with the files directly, either using an editor (emacs, etc.) or writing my own code to parse/change/write the files. I've looked through the files within a project, and it seems like the data must be in projectData... but I can't figure out where.
    Any pointers would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -Lee

Wow, I think you are asking too way much. Users often wonder if ther is a specific feature, if GarageBand can do a specific task. But what you are asking goes way beyond what GarageBand is and what it is for.
    About Automation.
You only can copy Automation curves between Tracks. That's pretty much it.
I don't think there is any kind of hook into the app itself to mess with the curve on a developer base. There are only a couple of XML files hidden in the Package File that you can alter or swap out some graphic files and that's about it regarding your mods.
    Hope that helps

  • How do you copy automation from one track to another?

How do you copy automation from one track to another? Occassionally I mistakenly blow away a track's automation. I open up an earlier version of the song to try to get the automation. It doesn't seem that you can copy and paste the data. After some struggle, I find a way. Is there an easy way?

    1. Copy the track containing the desired automation to another track. (create a track below it to keep things organized)
    2. Double click on the region and delete the notes.
    3. Now copy the region to the desired track.
P.S. Of course when Logic asks if you want to copy the automation data you say yes)

    Thanks,
    Jessica

    Hi Jessica,
in my eyes the second statement
    select ... xmlstring_column ... from table@remote_side;
causes the error. Columns of type XMLString internally are stored as CLOBs in Oracle. Unfortunately there are restrictions on statements for CLOBs and remote locators.
    It seems you cannot say
    SELECT clob_column FROM table@remote_site;
Remark: For me this is a showstopper for the datatype XMLString if you cannot run a simple statement like this one. It seems you can do an insert and an update but no select.
On the other hand your first statement
    INSERT INTO table_local SELECT * FROM table@remote_site;
    should work following the documentation.

  • Automation Curves in Logic 8?

    Hello!
I am waiting on a copy of Logic and am eager to learn whether or not there are automation curves in Logic 8. Ex. Select a portion of timeline, automate a parameter from xx to xx with an s shaped curve, parabolic, etc.
If anyone would like to post a quick answer it would be very much appreciated!

How it works in Logic is that you create the start and end points first and then apply the type of curve. However, both parabolic and s-curves are easily available and, in fact, use the same tool. It's just how you flick your wrist, so to speak...

  • Need a fluctuating automation curve

I need an automation curve for one of my tracks that STARTS with the low-mids and slowly ENDS with high treble. How can I get this effect?
Currently I'm doing it manually in the Visual EQ to see how it sounds, but I don't know how to record what I'm doing (i.e. dragging the point in the Visual EQ from the low-mid to high treble).

    rsherid wrote:
I can only pick one Visual EQ effect from the list when I actually want one that fluctuates between EQs.
you can automate any parameter an effect offers:
