How to create a DTP in bi.70?

Hi all,
Can anyone explain me how to create a DTP IN BI. 70. I need to load the data through a flat file into an ods and from ods to a cube?
What is the procedure to to be followed to load the data in BI. 7 ? Can anyone explain me the process.

    Just create a direct update DSO for collecting the rejected records.
    Use the function module RSDRI_ODSO_MODIFY for populating this DSo from the transformation ABAP coding.
    The direct update DSO will be having the rejected records after execution of the DTP and the correct records will be processed to the target DSO (correct records)

    Procedure to create Hierarchies:
    1.      In the Data Warehousing Workbench under Modeling, choose the InfoObject tree.
    2.      If you have assigned the hierarchy basic characteristic to an InfoObject catalog, select the corresponding InfoObject catalog for an InfoArea.
    If the hierarchy basic characteristic does not belong to an InfoObject catalog, choose the InfoArea Non-Assigned Nodes and the InfoObject Catalog Non-Assigned Characteristics.
    3.      Select the characteristic for which you want to create a hierarchy and choose Create Hierarchy from the context menu. The Create Hierarchy dialog box appears. The InfoObject name appears by default.
    4.      Enter a hierarchy name and description (short, medium, long). Other fields may be displayed, depending on which hierarchy properties were selected for the hierarchy basic characteristics
    Fields used to enter the Validity (valid to, valid from) for the hierarchy property Total Hierarchy Time-Dependent
    Fields used to specify the Hierarchy Version for the hierarchy property Hierarchies Version-Dependent.
    5.      Confirm your entries. The Maintain Hierarchy screen appears. You can define the structure of a hierarchy here.
    6.      To create a hierarchy node, you first need to choose an insertion mode:  Insert as First Child or   Insert As Next Neighbor (see Hierarchy Editing Functions).
    7.      Choose the type of node you want to create: Text Node, Characteristic Node, <Hierarchy Basic Characteristic Node> or Interval (see Hierarchy Nodes)
    8.      Repeat this procedure until the hierarchy structure has been set. For more information, see Modeling Nodes and Leaves.
    A hierarchy can contain 50,000-100,000 leaves at most. If your hierarchy is larger, you should insert a level that is used as a navigation attribute or preferably as a separate characteristic in the dimension table.
    9.      You can use Level Maintenance and Hierarchy Attributes to set how the hierarchy is to be displayed and processed in reporting (see Level Maintenance and Hierarchy Attributes).
    10.      Save the hierarchy.
    11.      Activate the hierarchy. See Editing Hierarchies.

    Activate it, Create a transformation to the target infoprovider, Create a DTP to schedule the transformation.
    You will also have to create an infopackage to get the data from the source system into the BI system.
    There are a lot of "stuff" to do with datasources!

    give the user name to whom you have to give the authorizations.
    maintain user then you can see the roles tab where you can assign the roles for the user.
    for these roles you can assign the authorization objects. when you double click on the roles you can get the maintenance of the role where you can edit or give the authorization objects for that role.
    some example for the authorization objects are:
    S_RS_ADMWB (Datawarehouse workbench-objects), S_RS_IOBJ(Datawarehouse workbench-Infoobject), S_RS_DS(Datawarehouse workbench-Datasoure for release greater than 3.X), S_RS_DTP(Datawarehouse workbench-DTP's) etc
    You can edit these authorization objects like providing them display or create or modifying authorizations

  • How to transport the DTP

    Hi Guys,
    I have created one new info cube and transformations and DTP's on the info cube in development. Now i want to transport info cube and transformations and DTP 's to quality and production system.
    i am tryting to collect these objects into transport in the transport connection and i have selected my info cube and
    and i selected the option     "Data flow afterwards"  in the Grouping
    it dsipalyed    only info cube name and transformations and info object, it didn't display the DTPS , so how to collect the DTPs and transport DTP's to quality and prodcution system.  Please suggest me if i miss anything there.
    and also i have another question is
    do we need transport  DTP from Dev to quality and Production systems or do we create DTP in each system seaprately.
    Please suggest me how ti proceed. Please share your thoughts on this.

    Hi,
    If you want to transport the DTP just double click on your DTP -
    select GO TO menu--Object Directory Entrygive the package name and select the request in which you want to collect it.
    Regarding creation of DTP in QA and PRD itself that varies from client to client.Some client give authorization to create directly and QA and PRD whereas some want everything to be transported form one system to another.
    Also read about object chageability as well.

  • How to rollback the DTP changes

    Hi Team,
    In system we have flat file data load, and we are using the DTP to load the file into DS0.
    In DTP we are maintaining the file path.
    Recently we upgraded the BW system to Support pack 27(SP27) and now when I am going to change mode in DTP not able to see the file path. In display mode I was able to change the file path but save and activate button is disable. I change the file path in display mode and went to change mode to save it but file path section was disappear and I save it now not able to see the file path section.
    Now I don't see any file path in DTP and I tried to create new DTP that DTP is also not showing the file path.
    Is it possible to rollback the changes in DTP, so that I can use the earlier DTP which has file path section.
    How can we create the DTP which will be having the file path section it.?
    Is it because of support pack?

    Hi Chetan,
    I take it you're now in version 7 flow.
    Here's what I would do,
    - Go to the relevant PC File datasource.
    - Open the relevant infopackage.
    - Go to the Extraction tab.
    - Check out on "Filename" field. In there you can specify/change the filepath by clicking on the button behind the text box.

    Hi,
    Go to transaction SE21 and give the package name as ZAPO or any thing starts with Z.
    click on create button.
    give a short description
    in the Package properties block- allowed object types list box - select No restrictions.
    in the transport attributes block- specify the transport layer
    give software component as HOME
    select the check box for changes recorded.
    save the package.
    or
    Go to SE80
    select package from the list box
    give your package name and hit enter button
    the popup asks you for input.
    give the appropriate values and press create button.
    Note: You should be registered as a developer in the system where you are creating the package.

    Usage of this add-in is: Let the user choose from a list of predefined datasets, and create a totally empty report with this dataset attached to is. So the user can create a report based on this dataset.
    I have a dataset in memory, and want to create a new report in cr2008.
    The new report is a blank report (with no connection information).
    If I set the ReportDocument.SetDataSource(Dataset dataSet) property, I get the error:
    The report has no tables.
    So I must programmatically define the table definition in my blank report.

    i am sorry but this is one more question on wiki-group-calendars.
    *In short:*
    I am not able to create a group calendar with the wiki frontend. the calendar that is created with a wiki is owned by the admin of the wiki. So it is always a personal calendar that cannot be shared in iCal.
    LONG:
    I want to create a group calendar that is viewed and edited through iCal.app and the web service. Apple´s "wiki deployment" guide says on page 57:
    +"The web calendar allows you to easily schedule events for yourself or your group. ...+
    +There are *two types of web calendars: personal and group*. You can send and receive event invitations through the personal calendar but not through the group calendar. Also, *while anyone in a group can create or edit events in a group calendar*, you can edit only events in your own personal calendar or event invitations you send to other people.+
    +The web calendar uses iCal Server to store events and invitations. ..."+
    But there is not mentioned how to create a group calendar. The calendar created with the wiki web-frontend belongs to the admin of that particular wiki. This is why the calendar data ist stored in folder named with the UUID of the wiki admin. Also the alias "http://server.fqdn:8008/principals/groups/mygroupname/" which i provided in iCal turns into ..._uids_UUID-of-the-wiki-admin and only the wiki-admin can access this calendar in iCal.app.
    My research on this topic reveals that there were in issue that should be resolved in 10.6.4 (that is running on our Server). So, again, how to create a group calendar?

    You said "you need to go to the wiki page and add the wiki's there...." What is the "wiki page" you mention? Is that some place I go to via the browser or the Server Admin tool?
    I went to http://ical.mysite.com/ical/ and logged in as the Directory Administrator but didn't see anything resembling what you described.
