Each Address Line should have one Tip.

It seems you have created Address Location DFF in self service in OA Framework.....
I have created a Address Location flex in OA Framework . It dipslays the segments properly but i dont want to display the segments if they dont have any value.
I only want to display segments with values . The segments with null values should not display at all...
i.e , if Address Line 2 value is null , it should not display Address Line 2..
If you have done this, pls let me know how to go abt it.

Hi,
Create one Search Help in the SE11 for the particular Field that u want to display. In the Screen(Transaction SE51),For that Text Box in the Attributes,in Dict Tab ->Search Help Field give that Search Help Name.
For Eg,
If u want Purchase Order Numbers in that F4 Help.Create one Search Help by giving Table Name as EKKO & Search Help Parameter as EBELN with Lpos & Rpos as 0 & 1.Save & Activate it.
Give this Search Help Name in Dict Tab ->Search Help Field of that Screen Attributes.

there are two types of search helps .
1. elementary search help .
2. collective serch help
Below are the steps to create elementary search helps :
1 In the initial screen of the ABAP Dictionary, select object class Search help, enter the name of the search help and choose Create.
2.then youget a option elementary or collective search as per you r need .
3.select Elementary search help and choose
4.write explanatory text in the field Short text.
5. in the selection method give the name of the table or a view .
6 . Select the fields that should be used for value selection or in a hit list .
7. then define the attributes of the search help .
8 Select the IMP flag if it is an import parameter. Select the EXP flag if it is an export parameter.
9 .define the dialog type of the search help.
The dialog type tells how the hit list will be displayed in the input help.
10 . save and activate .

I have a similar requirement but i need to transfer the values to the same page... what then. I have seen the developers giude and the example shows how to tansfer values to another page but no clues what so ever if i have to transfer them to the same page different region. Do u have any suggestions ....

I am using the Function Modules FREE_SELECTIONS_INIT and FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG to create the select-options dynamically on the selection screen.
My problem is that I am passing a field list of 10 fields in the FIELDS_TAB of the function.
Now it creates the select-options for all 10 fields. I want to create select-options for only 5 fields initially and let the user select out of the remaining 5 fields to create the select-options.
How to achieve this.?
I tried by passing the 5 fields in FIELDS_NOT_SELECTED table but they get hidden and once hidden I am not able to get them back in my field list.

I have created a table in which i have date field of format MM/DD i.e char 5.
i want validation that if user creates a entry in date field then if he enters first two digit more then 12 then validation must be their that please enter first 2 digits from 1-12.
similarly for last two digitsi.e it must be from 1-31
so how can i provide this validation.
if u have any confusion in understanding the query please revert.

Declare 3 variables
DD(2) type char
MM(2) type char
Temp(2) type char
Date(5) type char
Get the DD and MM value from your date field
if MM > 12.
    temp = MM.
    MM = DD.
    DD = temp.
endif.
Then concatenate MM & DD into date and save

I checked few things you mentioned and here are the findings:
1) Following is the code i have written it GET_DEFINITION
ls_descr_attr-name = 'ZZ_APPOINT_AUTH'.
ls_descr_attr-label_text = 'Appointing Authority'.
ls_descr_attr-ovs_name = 'ZCL_INC_BINF_CLAS_UI_FRM'.
APPEND ls_descr_attr TO et_field_description.
is this enugh to identify which field we want to make an OVS help? because suppose if don't implement all other pharses and only provide above code in Get_Defination then will it show me F4 icon atleast on field?
2) DDIC_SHLP_NAME field is blank. And there are no duplicate records.
3) I tried putting break point in HANDLE_PHASE0() and all other phases but debugger does not run while starting the application.So do we need to call these methods at some point or they are called automatically ?

How to create Dynamic prompts for a field at run time

HI all
I have a table which has 2 columns name attribute1 and attribute1_meaning.
Attribute1_meaning is the the meaning of attribute 1.
ex if attribuite1 is 500.. attribute1_meaning tells us if its MHz. RAM or whatever.
So IN my form I want to display the prompt of attribute1 as the value attribute1_meaning
Is there a way to do this ?

It also depends on your form layout. Francois' solution works if you only display one record. If you display multiple records this won't work, since an item can only have one prompt at a time. There is no set_item_instance_property for the prompt.
In that case you can create two fields attribute1 and attribute1_meaning. You can set the visual attribute of field attribute1_meaning to look like a normal prompt.

How to create a sequence for an particular item in my apex form

I created an database application, of a form with a report, and it is working fine...
But in my form, i have a requirement....The below are the existing fields in my form
issue no
created by
start date
status
priority
due date
Among these fields in my form i need to create a 'Sequence' for my field "issue no",
So that whenever i opened the form the 'issue number' must generate automatically like 1 for the first time, 2 for the second time and so on..
For that i created a sequence

Your question is not clear for me. Since it is a TEM infotype, it could be a PD infotype.
If you wish to create a PD infotype, use transaction PPCI to create the infotype.
But before that you need to create a structure HRInnnn (where nnnn is the infotype number) with all the fields relevant for the infotype.
If you wish to create a PA infotype, use transaction PM01 to create the infotype.
But before that you may be required to create a strcuture PSnnnn (where nnnn is the infotype number) with all the fields relevant for the infotype.
