How to create desktop notifier?

Hi friends,
I want to create desktop notifier application in java. This application should notifies if new message entry in server.
Please help me.
Thanks and Regards

Which part do you need help with? Where are you stuck? What have you tried? What exactly do you mean by "desktop notifier"? Should a window pop up? Should an icon blink in the taskbar? What OS is this? Etc...

  • How to create desktop icon that is a live URL

I am sure I'm overlooking something obvious and that this is a stupid question, but I can't figure out how to do something in OS X SL that is a snap in Windows: How do you create a desktop icon that is a "shortcut" to a web site URL, so that double-clicking the desktop icon causes the default browser to open to that page? All I can figure out is how to save a page to the desktop as an html file through the file menu. But that creates both the icon and a whole folder of other files and appears to just open a static (historical) document. Basically I am just wanting to make a "bookmark" to a single site right on my desktop. (It's my Delicious site where I keep all my bookmarks for all browsers on all devices.)

The easiest way is to just drag the URL from Safari's address bar to your desktop. This will create a .webloc file that points to the URL. Double-clicking the .webloc will launch the browser to navigate to the stored URL.

  • How 2 create desktop applications

At my university we only make Java programs for
examination purposes. How do I make my own Java
applications, which can be run on any computer - using
desktop icons, or the program files menu in windows?
Please be specific, e.g. what file type extensions do I need?
Does the API have any help on this? are there any tutorials?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    T. Charles

Executable JAR files are the way to go. All you need to do is create a file called "Manifest.mf" and place the following line of code in it:
    Main-Class: com.whatever.MyClass
Then from the command line, use JAR to archve the files together, specifying Manifest.mf as your JAR manifest. Let's say you need to package up a program with the main class of "com.newdeveloper.ClassProject". You might do the following:
    c:\> echo Main-Class: com.newdeveloper.ClassProject > Manifest.mf
    c:\> jar -cvmf Manifest.mf ClassProject.jar com
This should produce a file called "ClassProject.jar" that you can double-click on. Here are a few examples of executable Jar files (just open them with your favorite ZIP program to see what's inside:
    http://java.dnsalias.com/duke
    http://java.dnsalias.com/misslecommand
Here's an example of a complete application using executable JARs and the NullSoft installer:
    http://www.datadino.com/tryit.html
BTW, you can get the NullSoft installer at:
    http://www.nullsoft.com
Hope this answers your question. :-)

  • How to create desktop application (AIR) splash screen FB 4.7 ?

Hi.  I am using Flash Builder 4.7 and with the tutorials and the API documentation on Flex by Adobe I can't seem to find a good solution for creating a Splash Screen for an Adobe AIR Desktop application.  I have found some results for mobile applications but I didn't go into those because I am developing for the desktop.  However if some of the moblie results are valid for porting to desktop I will give them a shot.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks in advance.
P.S.  If I port to mobile, I will be porting to Android

Did you try the newly released SDK from official page, rather than labs? I would also suggest running FB with Java 1.6, if you have it on Java 1.7 - FB4.7 is known to yield some quirks with new java VMs.
Flash Builder is developed on top of Eclipse platform, which is basically a pluggable architecture - nothing wrong with that. Number of files do not really affect the overall application performance. In general you should not touch that, unless you really know what you doing and can manage all the dependencies on your own. I agree, though, that's is quite unfortunate that Adobe decided to hide the AIR SDK deep inside plugins, instead dragging it out to a top-level folder, where it's visible and available for change. It was possible with Flex SDK configured externally, so why not here?

  • How to create shortcut desktop icon for all users???

    Hello All,
I want to know how to create shortcut icon for all users in windows 7. I tried C:\Users\Public but no folder for Desktop.
    Thanks

    C:\users\All users
    JS
    Hi,
I am just wondering, what is the technically correct location to place say, a shortcut, for all users to access on their desktops on a given machine?
    Is it C:\Users\Public\Desktop ?
    Or is it C:\Users\All Users\Desktop ?
Would it also be possible to explain the differences as well? Or paste some links to the overview of each one? I am having trouble finding anything from MS.
    Thank you.

  • How to create Remote Desktop Application in C# or port it from HTML5/JS project ?

    Hi
How can create Remote Desktop Application in C# template ? I were searching on google but not found example or API for this.
If can, please suggest for me some solution, example and document.
And I have JavaScript project template Remote Desktop Application. Can i port it to c# ? Or use Webview to show it ?
I were create demo use webview to show it but it not run. Maybe i do some mistake or can't be do it.
    Thanks.

I have no other options.  We already provide the RDP plug-in for JavaScript. I'm not sure what else is needed for this.

If my reply answers your question, please mark this post as answered.
NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with
    undefined objects and unknown namespaces.
My project needs work with C# Windows Store. So I need RDP on C#, not JS. If we don't support C#, do we have a RDP spec on Windows 8.1 so that we can follow that spec to implement with native code to support RDP?

  • How to create a Windows 8.1 Desktop icon from the Metro/Start and/or Search Tool?

I'm a Desktop user, but often find myself needing to go to the Metro/Start and Search Tool to find programs and App(let)s in order to run them.  However, after doing this several times for many programs, I find myself wanting to create
Desktop icons to run the programs more easily.  Is there a way to do this from the Metro/Start Icon and/or Search Tool results?
If not, Microsoft, please consider adding the ability to do this.
It would be very nice if this ability supported all of the icon types shown in the Metro/Start, Search Tool, and Control Panel interfaces, e.g.: Metro Apps, Desktop Programs, Charms, and Control Panel Applets.
Currently, there is a way to pin the Metro/Start Icon to the Desktop, but the Taskbar will get very cluttered with even only a handful icons.
It would be very nice if the desktop icon created by this also supported the context options that the program/app(let) now shows as Tasks when the icon is pinned to the Desktop Taskbar.
Additionally, it would be nice if I could also simply drag a Pinned Taskbar icon onto the Desktop area, again, retaining it's Tasks as context menu options when the Desktop Taskbar icon is right clicked.
This ability would be very helpful for people needing to get to programs and App(let)s, without having to resort the Metro/Start and Search Tool, because when there are a lot of Metro/Start icons, I have well over a hundred icons, it
can be very hard to find one simply eye-balling lot.  The Search feature is much better, provided I know the name to look for and can remember it.
Finally, this ability would be very helpful, because the kinds of desktop shortcut icons that I can create using the New Shortcut option, assuming that can I find the program/App(let)'s name and path information, do not support the context options
that the icons could in Windows 7 when an icon is created while installing the program.
    Thanks,
    Howard Brown

    Hi Howard Brown,
Thanks for your suggestions about Windows user experience. Actually, we are glad to hear more feedback
about Windows operating system so that we can improve Windows to make it be more easier to
     use.
As a suggestion for your current situation, you can use Windows Charm Bar to search Apps, it is also easy to use.
