How to Create downloadable charts in Apex ?

Hi All,
I m using Apex 4.
I want to know that how can i create charts that can be downloadable as image, pdf etc.

You cannot with apex out-of-the-box.
You need some kind of plugin for charts.
Maybe Dimitri Gielis's non-flash-charts could do that (www.apex-evangelists.com) but I'm not sure.

It's called an XY Graph. If you need an XY graph to behave like a chart, look at the shipping example called XY Chart.

I found it very easy to produce a line chart in a window container using FM GFW_PRES_SHOW. In my case this produces a basic line graph with three lines across 15 time periods.
See transaction GRAL for various chart types...they're relatively easy to produce... I picked DEMO_GFW_PRES_SHOW report program from GRAL as my example for how to produce a simple line chart very quickly.

How to create a chart with dates?

I've created a table with projects I have to deliver and the date they were delivered. I would like to create a chart from this data - however I can't figure out how to use date in the chart.
Ideally the chart would work with the date (lets say from jan 01 to april 5) on the x-axis and the project on the y-axis. And a line that goes from time A (which marks the initial part of the project) to the time B (which marks the delivery date) defined on the table.
Is it possible?

I'm ALMOST there! If you could help me with one last thing it would be amazing. I've uploaded my number project and you can downloaded it on the link bellow, if you prefer.
I managed to do the same idea chart as you have. However I would like to have two bars for every JOB (y-axis). On my table i've inputed for every job 4 values = START DATE that was scheduled / Duration period scheduled (this happens prior to the job itself // START DATE Delivered / Duration Period Delivered (this is the actual time the JOB took place). This way I can see at the end of a JOB if I worked during the period I planned.
using your example on the chart above (your reply) Could Proposal have a bar 1.0 / 4.0 - and bellow this bar have another one (with different colours) that went from 2.0 / 5.0 - for example? - the first one representing the "scheduled dates"and the second one representing what actually happened.
I managed to do the four bars but couldnt manage to have them bellow each other.

Assume we have 10 (x, y) pairs as below:
(10,10), (12,23), (47,9), (63,24), (88,100), (150,41) ,(155,166), (188,2), (198,58) and (500,200). Each (x,y) pair is a single point in the graph.
If we use Scatter chart to handle these data, the output graph is fine but not suitable for me to use.
I wish there will be a trend line between two of each independent points of Scatter graph, and obtain a graph just like the output graph as used in Line chart (line+symbol).
That is, in Line chart, the values of x-axis(with equal-width intervals) are categorical; however, my data is ordinal value or continuous value (like Time, Concentration...etc.). I wish this software has the ability to show the interaction between each points.

Column: Shows discrete values using vertical columns
Bar: Shows discrete values using horizontal bars
Gantt: Shows task or project scheduling information using horizontal bars
High-Low: Shows multiple Y-axis values for each X-axis point
Line: Shows data values as points connected by lines to show trends
Mixed: Combines a column and line chart
Pie: Shows how individual data values contribute to an overall total
Scatter: Plots 2 sets of potentially related data to identify possible trends
Table: Shows text data in a table
Double-Y: Shows a column or line chart with multiple values for the same X-axis value

On the samples page on OTN there is a piece on how to use BI beans to achieve business charts. Search for "BI bean Graphs in Forms".

You don't do that using Java.

XML Forms: how to create download link

Hi,
can anybody tell me, how i can create a download link to a document rid
in an XML form?
I can create a link which will open the referenced document, but "right klick
link | save target as..." will produce an error, since the link is a javascript call.

This is not possible in Oracle. What u can do is create the view without the where clasue and supply the where clause at runtime.

If I understand the tutorial correctly I should do
something like this to start the map:
Map<String, myClass> myMAP = new HashMap<String,
MyClass>();
and something like this to add a new instance of the
class every time:
myMAP.put(myString, new myClass());
So this would result a link between the Strings and
the instance of the Class?

JasperLevinkyep. the String is the key, and the MyClass instance is the value. to get the value out of the map, use map.get(key)
