How to create dynamic 'rack drawings' with Oracle forms

Hallo, I work for a telecom company.
We have used Oracle Forms and Reports from the beginning and we are now on version 10.2 but upgrading til 11.2.
I got a request to make 'dynamic rack drawings' to display what equipment are located in what racks.
The suggestion is to calculate coordinates(position, height) and send it to our GIS-system to do the dynamic drawing bit.
The 'drawing' is just simple boxes with various height with a name in it to mark different types of equipment.
So my question is... How should we draw these boxes dynamically to display our racks including the equipment installed there?
Something like this With a header and a footer.

I wouldn't do the drawing part in Forms. Luckily there are Java Beans available in Webforms which you could use to visualize your data in a more complex way.

According to your description, you want to connect multiple database from multiple servers using dynamic connection.
If in this case, we can create a Table in our local database (whatever DB we want) and load all the connection strings. We can use Execute SQL Task to query all the connection strings and store the result-set in a variable of object type in SSIS package.
Then use ForEach Loop container to shred the content of the object variable and iterate through each of the connection strings. And then Place an Execute SQL task inside ForEach Loop container with the SQL statements we have to run in all the DB instances.

Any info on how to create a dynamic internal table along with columns(fields) also to be created dynamically.
My requirement is ..On the selection screen I enter the number of fields to be in the internal table which gets created dynamically.
I had gone thru some posts on dynamic table creation,but could'nt find any on the dynamic field creation.

How to create dynamic PDF drawings

I once saw somewhere a PDF file that contained a drawing frame and the content of the drawing within that frame could be dynamically moved around within the drawing frame by the user (i.e. the content could be panned around, in this case the content was OS maptiles with design information on top covering an area 20 times larger than the drawing frame could display). This allowed the user to move the content to suit their requirements and print different areas of the drawing as and when they desired yet still retained a drawing frame & title block etc.
How does one go about producing such a PDF file that would allow the end user to move content around within a framed view?

Actually what happens is; when i use the same methodology as you mentioned, it is asking me to set the Initial value.
Whereas in my applications; user has to manually select any of the values i.e eithe V1 or V2 for the first time.
Moreover i have found the query:-
I have created a static record group RG_VERSIONS i.e creating a new record group with the static values mentioning the "Column names " as "Version_label" which i have given the column values as "V1" and "V2" and then another column name as "Version_value" with the column values as "V1" and "V2".
Then i used the below query in the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger:-

How to create Dynamic Webi 3.1 filename in Publication

I have a webi 3.1 report that is being called from a publication used for bursting using the eFashion universe. I want the file name to be dynamic, based on the profile. Within the webi report I created a free standing cell that I set to "Western States" or "Eastern States" based on the states in the report at the time of the run (set by the profile). This works correctly. But there does not seem to be a way to get the report to use the free standing cell value as part of the report name. From the publication, properties, destinations, use specific name I can only pick title and document name. Neither of these is the free standing cell in the report. I saw that version 4.0 has this ability but I can't upgrade for another year and deski is not an option. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I figured out how to create dynamic report names with 2 fields within the Publication tool. I padded fullname and email in dynamic recipients to be the two fields I wanted from the report. Then in Destinations, File Name:, Use specific name I picked userfullname and email address to create the report name. But that would not work if I actually needed to use the email address to send the report to. We don't have Java programmers and may have to find other options. Thanks.

How to connect to SQL server 2000 with Oracle Form

I'm looking for the document of how to connect "SQL Server 2000" with Oracle Form 6i. Anyone knows that?

Is there a way to utilize the wizard for "Business Tier > ADF Business Components > Business Components from Tables" for SQL Server 2000, 2005 or 2008. I can successfully execute sql via java programmatically or import a table from SQL Server with "Business Tier > ADF Business Components > Entity Object" wizard, but the Business Components from Tables simply doesn't see any tables under any schema. Without the "Business Components from Tables", i don't get the referential constraints imported into the application and to code all those from scratch is just not as elegant. So far i have only utilized the sql server jdbc driver from Microsoft (versions, 1.1, 1.2 and 2.0). Is there an alternative client that i need to use to enable selecting tables from that "Business Components from Tables" wizard. Is this a limitation of SQL Server, the jdbc driver or the wizard itself? Did anybody else experience the same issues? I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.0.1 against SQL Server 2005 (currently)

Using SYS or system accounts for creating user accounts.

How to create an unsolved cube with awm???

I readed the "Oracle Olap developer's guide to the Oalp api" and I found there's 2 type of Cube: Solved and Unsolved Cubes. And this document says: "... if all the data for a cube is specified by the DBA, then the cube is considered to be Solved. If some or all of the aggregate data must be calculated by Oracle OLap, then the cube is unsolved ..."
I tried with awm 10.2.0.3.0A to create an unsolvedCube but I can't. All cubes I created are solvedCube. To know if a cube is solved or unsolved, I wrotte an program in Java to read informations of package mtm.
Some one can tell me how to create an unsolved cube with AWM ou other soft please!

SH is not a relational OLAP data model which is quite different from the GLOBAL schema which is based on an Analytic Workspace.
If you change the aggregation method you will need to re-compute the whole cube which can be a very big job! You might be able to force the unsolved status be de-selecting all the levels on the Rules tab in AWM. However, I think by default analytic workspace OLAP models always provide a fully solved cube to the outside world. This is the nature of the multi-dimensional model.
Relationally, as keys are located in separate columns a cube can be unsolved in that the key column only contains values for a single level from the corresponding dimension tables. If more than keys for different levels within the same dimension appear within the fact key column then the cube is deemed as being solved.
Therefore, I am not sure you are going to get the information you require from the API. To changes the aggregation method you will have to switch off all pre-compute options and also disable the session cache to prevent previously calculated data being returned when you change the aggregation method.
