How to Customize UD (usage decision) in QM.

Could you please let me know, how to Customize UD (usage decision) in QM for movement of quality stock to unrestricted or blocked stock

Hi
The customization for defining the posting direction (e.g. unrestricted use or block stock) is here.
SPRO > Quality Management > Quality Inspection > Inspection lot completion > Define inventory postings. There are the fields what you can see in QA11 for stock posting, if you'd like to add new fields waht you want, then add that there and also need to activate the user exit QEVA0001 with your soure code, please go to SMDO to read the documentation.
If you'd like to post the stock automatically according to respective UD code inputted, then you can go to QS51 and tick on the field 'Stock screen background' and select the posting direction for the UD code, then the system will automatically post all of the stock without asking user to input the quantity to be posted.

How to Create Custom Usage Decisions

Hi,
I am working in ECC 6.0. I want to create a Custom Usage decision (Plant Specific). I can not remember where to go to set this up?
If I use transaction QS41 and set up my own Code Group under Catalog type 3 (Usage Decision), where can I attach the Selected Set that tells the system how to post the Usage Decision (i.e. Unrestricted, Restricted, Scrap...)
Any help with this would be huge.

I get confused sometimes with this.
When I go into QS51..I get to choose Catalog Type 3 (Usage Decision) and my Plant. Then I create my Selected Set. I highlight that and Double Click on Selected Set Codes. Inside there I create my Accept and Reject codes and assign Posting Proposals. From there I save.
I just ran a MIGO transaction and created an 01 type Inspection Lot. I tried to go in and do a Usage Decision on it. When I hit the drop down...it gives me the Original SAP Catalog. I do not see my Selected Set I just created.
Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

for cancelling usage decision use user exit QEVA0008.With the help of Abaper Proceed with following steps.Once you apply this exit you can reset the UD.
1) GOTO T. CODE CMOD
2) CREATE NEW PROJECT FOR EXAMPLE "ZUDRE"
3)GIVE SHORT BTEXT & SAVE IN REQUIRED PACKAGE
4)CLICK ON ENHANCEMENT ASSIGNMENT PUSHBUTTON
5)ASSIGN USER EXIT QEVA0008

HI
You can create the user status profile like without RREC( Result Recording) system will not allow the UD status.
Create the status profile using BS02 t.code and assign the same in Inspection type, which you want use in the inspection lot.
To assign the status profile into the inspection lot Go to SPRO-QM-QI----Maintain Inspection Types.
In that select the inspection type which you want to use and assign the status profile

Wrong usage decision

Dear sirs,
I have one issue.
One of materials is assigned to quality.
GR (101 mvt type) is posted for that material for 20000 litres and inspection lot is created.
While performing transaction QA32, usage decision is to be made with 20000 litres and this much quantity is to be moved from quality stock to unrestricted stock.
Unfortunately user has posted usage decision with zero quantity.
With this,20000 litres of stock is left in quality only.
Now how can I change usage decision?
Please suggest me the solution

Dear sir,
When I take QA32 and try to post usage decision for the same inspection lot, system is throwing error message "The function you selected can not be carried out"
When I try to post "return deliery to vendor " using MIGO keeping the stock type as Quality stock, then also system throws message "You do such changes in quality"

Changing posting date at usage decision for handle units. How?

Does anybody know how to change posting date at usage decision for handle units (HU)?
If the material is not managed by HU, SAP allows this modification (there's a button with a hat on it referring the material document header).
For HU I cannot seem to change posting date!

Yes it's possible! Well,...unless for versions 4.6C, 4.7 and ECC 5.
I've found SAP Note #752131 by which SAP declares that you can create the pushbutton from the Screen Painter referring the document header.
That's all,.....so simple, and it works fine!
This note applies ONLY to version 4.6C, 4.7and ECC 5 (which is the version the customer I am with has installed).

I have done tra QA32 , and in usage decision i enter the unrestricted qty and scrap qty. but in scrap qty i havent specify the sto location. so can i recover my scrap qty.
and how.

Hi,
In your scenario,When the material is rejected transfer the material to blocked stock.When u need for production then u can make a transfer posting to unrestricted from blocked stock.
When you are transfering the material to scrap with cost center then that material cannot be restored.So you should be aware before putting the material to scrap.

Customizing mmbe screen to diplay Usage Decision????

Hello everyone,
I am SAP QM/MM consultant..
My client wants a customized mmbe screen, in which besides the Unrestricted and QI stock, there should be an additional column for Usage Decision in which the Usage Decision ( wrt QM ) for that particular batch should be displayed.
I have never done this and have no idea how mmbe screen can be customized in order to display Usage decison..
Please provide your valuable inputs to my query asap..

Hi,
Its not a good idea to customize MMBE screen with the field info that is not provided by standard SAP's configurable values. Simply provide him a ZMBE report which you might have understood by now....Remember, MMBE would be used by your client's global users. Just for his sake, if you attempt to change it, you would be facing the global users..If I were, I would never do it.

Error while doing the Usage Decision in transaction QA32

Hello Friends,
While doing the goods receipt for customer returns from customer, system generated a inspection lot with inspection type 06.
So in QA32 transaction, system is showing that inspection lot, but in same screen, against the column InspPlan: Material, system is not showing any entry.
Later on after analysis, i found that no inspection plan was assinged to the material, Plant for which that inspection lot was created. When i checked that inpection lot in transaction QA03, in Insp. Specifications tab, agaisnt the Assigned Specification section, system was not showing any entry in fields Group, Group Counter, Plant, Usage.
And against that inspection lot,status CRTD, PREQ, CHCR are active.
Because of which, when user is trying to do the UD against this lot system throwing the error message as Status check error.
When i checked again i found that status CRTD is throwing the error message.
Hence friend, i want to do the Usage decision for that inspection lot than how to do?
Now user has assigned the material, plant to the inspection plan in QP02.
Should i go to QA02 transaction, and in Insp. Specification tab, for fields group, group counter, usage, Plant, maintain the values?
Will this allow me to do the usage decision against the inspection lot which got generated when no inspection plan was assingned to that material, plant?

For Result Recording and Ud the inspection lot status must be REL as u told ur status is CRTD it Mean Some master
is missing in inspection lot,generally inspection plan for that u run QA02 enter inspection lot no go to specification tab
there a button assigned specification there click on that as u click on button u will find that plan for above material copied to lot and it will show u plan detail line group and group counter no.
then go to next screen Sample if sample management is active and click on sample then system will calculate sample size then save ur lot. it would get Status As REL now ui can enter result or take UD

Unable to change stock posting date at usage decision while inspecting HUs

If we were using materials without WMS it's simple: thereu2019s a button in the screen for stock posting by which we're able to change document date and posting date; but we're using WM and the screen is slightly different: the button I'm referring it's gone!
So, how to change the posting date at posting stock in QA11 when we're using handle units? Some end-user told me that in version 4.7 this was possible. I don't think so ...unless there was something customized at WM IMG...or maybe they were using a USER EXIT to bring a pop-up window for this (I'm starting to believe that this was implemented..). This is the first time I work with HUs, so I don't know how to manage this.

My business scenario is as follows:-
I have created new usage decision codes as mentioned below through QS41and assigned the same to code group RI-UD and catalog 03.
I3     INITIAL REJECTION >75% to <=100 % (1)
I4     INITIAL REJECTION >50% to <=75% (40)
I5     INITIAL REJECTION >25% to <=50% (60)
I6     INITIAL REJECTION <=25% (80)
and quality score maintained the same through QS51

Anything can be done SAP!   But what you want would be all custom. There is no SAP functionality that would do that for you. I'd start with the auto UD program first. Have the programmers modify the selection parameters to select the list of lots. Than process those lots with the logic you want o use and change the UD accordingly. I'd make sure I could run the program manually as well. Similar to some of the other UD workload programs.

WM - QM usage decision scrap - automatic TO creation

How can I realize an automatic transfer order processing for the following scenario:
MIGO Goods receipt posting with reference to PO into quality
QA11 Usage decision Scrap
Transfer requirement (WM mtype 551 / IM mtype 553) is being created but although the correct storage type (902 GR area external rcpts) is being determined the system cannot process the transfer order in background since the respective storage bin (dynamic IM-material document) cannot be determined => error message u201CSystem cannot find source storage binu201D.
I am able to process the transfer order in foreground successfully. Via u201Cstock figuresu201D (F7) the system is able to determine the respective storage bin (including stock search with inspection lot) correctly so I wonder why this is not being done in the background processing.

Bin can be determined automatically only based on the strategy (for your case, it's removal strategy) assigned to the storage type in question. For 902, it's a interim storage type without strategy assigned.
I am afraid you can only manually process the TR in foreground for your scenario. Otherwise, you may consider putting away QI stock from 902 into a normal storage type. You should then be able to process the TR of scrap in background.

Return process for the PO which has done the usage decision with QM

Hi Guru,
We are running below process right now, and stop there, don't know how to return to vendor:
PO for external vendor -> Goods purchased physically arrive -> Create a inbound delivery for this PO -> Post the GR with the inbound delivery created -> QA team performed the usage decision and rejected.
At this moment, how can we reverse the good receipt? We canu2019t use VL09 to reverse the inbound delivery, and we can not use MBST to reverse the material doucment which created during Post good receipt.
What's the correct process to return it to vendor?

Hi Rick,
Can use t.code MIGO and select return delivery for material document or delivery note.
Then select the respective document, it will display the details, now you can select the material which you want return and unselect the materials which you dont want to return and the quantities accordingly.
Save the document.
This will use movement type 122.

Partial quality inspection & partial usage decision?

Inspection lot is created when GR is done against purchase order, in normal case result is recorded for whole lot and usage decision is made partially / fully.
Say business want to inspect (record result) only 50 pieces and want to do usage decision of 50 pieces immediately and again want to inspect (record result) another 50 pieces of same lot and want to do the usage decision u2026u2026u2026u2026how to do it?
As per my knowledge once inspection is done & usage decision is done system stops to inspect that lot again.
Looking for your valuable input as soon as possible.

For result recording to be done for qunatity In control indicator of each char tick on long term Inspection.
This will allow you to do RR after UD has taken.
For UD to be done Partially means stock posting partially ...
You can create a UD code(AP) & in customization do not post it automatically.
Then You can only post 50 Qty initially with UD -AP
then for rest of the qty in QA32 select those lots with UD & stock post rest of the items when you carry out RR for rest of 50 .
This is the solution
