How to debug record wise?

hi experts..
i have a scenario as mentioned below..
i have 50 DATA PACKETS,
each DATA PACKET has 50000 records,
i have written a start routine too, now there is a error in 46 DATA PACKET for record number 35000, now i want to directly debug that record with out debugging each and every record of 46th data packet.
can any one help me out with a solution.
thanks and regards..

Hello,
Create a Form-level ON-ERROR trigger, then for that particular error, display the block name that raised it:
DECLARE
     lv_errcod NUMBER := ERROR_CODE;
     lv_errtyp VARCHAR2(3) := ERROR_TYPE;
     lv_errtxt VARCHAR2(80) := ERROR_TEXT;
BEGIN
     IF (lv_errcod = 40654) THEN
       Message(lv_errtyp||'-'||to_char(lv_errcod)||': '||lv_errtxt
       || '  on block:' || :system.trigger_block);
     ELSE
          Message(lv_errtyp||'-'||to_char(lv_errcod)||': '||lv_errtxt);
     END IF;
     RAISE Form_Trigger_Failure;
END;Francois

  • How to debug Delta records..urgent

    Hi All,
I loaded some records with delta mode.
In rsa3, I select delta mode D, and clk Excute button, But It is saying  "Error During Execution".
    A. What is the reason Can any one explain?
    B. How to Debug my delta records?
    Pls explain Urgent.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Lakshmi.K.

    Hi,
in case of simulation of update mode D you also have to provide the name of your target system. Then check the box debug mode. After clicking the execution button you are in the coding right before the extraction fm gets called. Jump into in by pressing F5 ....
But first of all you need to make sure that your datasource provides a delta (this may cause the 'error during execution').

  • How to debug a report

    how to debug a report
    i am new to ABAP

    Hi
    <b>ABAP Debugger</b>
The ABAP Debugger is an integrated test tool within the ABAP Workbench. You use it to check the program logic and to find errors in the source code of an ABAP program. In the Debugger, you can step through the source code of a program. The running program is interrupted after each step, allowing you to check its processing logic and the results of individual statements.
As of Release 6.10, you can also run Business Server Pages (BSP) in the debugging mode. You can also display and set breakpoints here. Business Server Pages can be displayed in the Object Navigator when you select an appropriate application under BSP Application.
    <b>Features</b>
The Debugger provides an efficient means of identifying errors in ABAP programs. It contains the following functions:
    •    Ways of starting the Debugger
    •     Choosing different views
    •     Choosing different execution options in the Debugger
    •     Displaying source code in the Debugger
    •               Setting and deleting breakpoints
    •               Setting and deleting watchpoints
    •               Stopping a program at a particular statement or event
    •     Displaying and changing field contents at runtime
    •     Displaying ABAP Objects and references
    •     Displaying and positioning strings
    •     Setting and deleting database locks
    •     Opening the ABAP Editor, or Object Navigator
    •     System settings and runtime warnings
    <b>Starting the Debugger</b>
There are two possible strategies for starting the Debugger in the ABAP Workbench:
    •     By setting breakpoints then running the program
    •     By running the program in debugging mode.
    <b>Setting Breakpoints</b>
A breakpoint is a signal in a line of code that tells the ABAP runtime processor to interrupt the program at that line and start the ABAP Debugger. A distinction is made between static and dynamic breakpoints. For further information about the different types of breakpoints and how to use them, refer to Breakpoints.
Running a Program in Debugging Mode
You can start the Debugger without previously having set breakpoints. This is the best procedure to use when you want to test a program right from the beginning. It is also useful if you do not know the program very well and therefore are not sure where best to set breakpoints. You can start the Debugger as follows:
From the Object Navigator     Select a report or transaction and program and choose Program &#61614;&#61472;Test &#61614;&#61472;Debugging.
From the ABAP Editor     Choose Program &#61614; Execute &#61614; Debugging (or the Debugging pushbutton).
From any screen     Choose System &#61614; Utilities &#61614; Debug ABAP.
From any screen     Enter " /h " in the command field.
    <b>Checking System Programs for Errors</b>
To check a program or program component that is part of the ABAP Workbench (for example, the Screen Painter), you must use the system Debugger. To start the system Debugger, choose System &#61614; Utilities &#61614; Debug system from any screen. To stop the system Debugger, choose Debugger &#61614; Debugging off.
    <b>
    Displaying Program Attributes</b>
You can display the attributes Fixed point arithmetic, System program and Unicode checks active of the program that has just been executed by choosing Goto &#61614; Further Information &#61614; Program Attributes.
    <b>
    Display Modes in the Debugger</b>
When you are debugging a program, there are various display modes that you can use. All of the display modes have the same structure. The top part of the screen displays an extract of the program source code. The bottom part displays the information specifically available in that display mode. There are also pushbuttons on the screen allowing you to switch to the most frequently-used display modes.
go to se38->give ur program name-.execute->give /h at command prompt->execute->now debugging will start->
f5-used for line by line debugging
f6-used for directly executing function modules or performs i.e. control won't go into that block.
    f7-run to cursor
    f8-direct executing.

click fileds option and double click on the filed or type the filen name beside filed
tables : here we can check the data in the internal table.
click tables option and double click on the internal table.
    Break points:
if you want to debug a particulr part you can use this.
place the cursor at any perform click breakpoint or double click on that line.it will be set.
if /h from report statement it will debug,so for debugging from particular point we will use break points.use f7 to traverse between multiple break points.
Watch-points: In some cases we need to check the data populated in the internal table for eample if we want to check the data of internal table record belongs to 100th vendor we will create watch point for this goto->breakpoints->create watch points->give filed itab-lifnr->=->100.
    debugging procedure:
Use '/H' in the command line and execute the report/program, so that it goes to debugging mode
    2. keep a hard coded break point in the code like BREAK-POINT and it stops there.
3.From the program Menu, Keep the Soft Break-points and do the debugging.

  • How to debug start routine for the custom code?

    Hi Experts,
Can anybody tell me how to debug the start routine? Also could you please guide me where to write the custom code in the start routine.
    Thanks in advance.

    Rajkumar,
Thank you for your help. but the blog link that you send it to me does not mention anything about ABAP debugger screen.
What should I do once I get in to the ABAP debugger? the link only tells how to get to the ABAP debugger that I know.
Also it say that I have to use the infinite loop to debugg the start routine.
Can anybody tell me how to debugg start routine with the scren shots please. I don't know how to use infinite loop in the start routine. Is their any easy process step by step to see my particular record behavior in the start routine?
I will assing you the points. again thank you.

  • How to debug a function module using in the generic datasource?

    Hi all,
We have created a generic data source using function modulle and have been extracting the data for a single customer it contains single records but it has pulled out more than 10,000 records. how to debug the function module used in the data source.
since we schedule for extraction in bi and back ground job gets triggered in ecc for extraction,
i know in se37 we can select the function module name and then debug but still need to check while the bacground job is trigered through bi.
    Thanks

Yes you can debug the Function Module.
Open the function module in SE37 and put a break point in the code where you want to check from, then come to RSA3 and give the datasource name and check the Debug check box on this screen, once you click on the start button it will take you the place where you have placed the break point in the FM, by pressing F5 you can see the flow of the FM.
Let me know whether this solves your issue.

    how to debug this issue?

    Hi Arjunji,
The issue occurs because you have only 32-bit Microsoft ACE 12.0 OLEDB drivers installed, however, the package runs in 64-bit runtime mode which requires 64-bit drivers.
To avoid this issue, you need to either install the 64-bit
Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable or run the package in 32-bit runtime mode. To run the package in 32-bit runtime mode, in SSDT, you can set the Run64BitRuntime property of the IS project to False; in a SQL Server Agent job, you can
configure the SSIS Package Job step and check the “Use 32 bit run time” option.
In addition, please note that the 32-bit install file of Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable and the 64-bit one cannot be installed side by side on a single server. However, if your current ACE 12.0 OLE DB drivers are installed by 32-bit
Office suit, you can go ahead and install the 64-bit Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable.

  • How  to debug BDC , Dialog program and Script

    Hi all,
Please let me know, how to  debug BDC , Dialog program and Script
    Thanks&Regards
    Devi

    <b>SCRIPT DEBUGGING</b>
When we want to debug the SAPSCRIPT, we need to first activate the debugger, we have 2 ways to activate the Debugger.
    1) Execute the program RSTXDBUG
    2) Go to SE71, from the initial screen enter the form name and press Utilities --> Activate Debugger
When we are in the Debug screen,
3.1) F5 will be debug filed by field, that means if a single line is having 5 fields, if we press the F5 this will do field by field,
3.2) F6 will be line by line, that means when we press the F6, it will debug the line and it will go to the next line. F7 also do the same way
3.3) F8 will be very useful when we have any include statement in the SCRIPT, if any include is there and we press the F5 or F6 then this will go that Include (normally SO10 or any transaction text), then if we want line by line debugging then we can press the F5 or F6, or if you want to execute that in a single shot then press the F8, then the debugger will be executed that include and come back to the Script debugging.
Some times in the script, we may right lengthy lines, if we want to debug that whole line, we have an option called Left/Right, this we will find the Debug screen of the script, there is a Push button, we can make use this button to debug.
We can put the breakpoints in the SCRIPT DEBUGGER also, just press the BREAKPOINT Pushbutton from the debugging screen or press EDIT --> Breakpoint
If we want to debug the print program from the SCRIPT DEBUGGER, just press SHIFT+F7 or EDIT --> ABAP Debugging
If we want to see the Windows which are defined in the forms, just press the Go to --> Form --> Windows .if we want to see the pages go to --> Form --> pages. Here we have an option to see the page wise window also go to --> Form --> page Windows
If we want to see the paragraphs which are defined in that script, press go to --> Styles --> paragraphs.
If we want to see the Character formats which are defined in that script, press go to --> Styles --> Character Strings.
If we want to see the Page formats which are defined in that script, press go to --> OTF --> Page.
If we want to see the Elements which are used in the Script, then press go to --> Text Elements --> Form Elements.
If we want to see the commands which are used in the script, press go to --> Commands --> List
Finally, if we want to exit from the SCRIPT DEBUGING, simply press Debugger --> Exit
    <b>DEBUG BDC</b>
ust go into debugging mode and do the BDC step by step, when it comes to the Call Transaction line, check the mode which will be 'N'....Now, overwrite this with 'A' and execute the BDC...It will run in All Screens Mode....
As suggested above the MODE 'A' will do the trick as it takes you to all screens.
Normally MODE N will be defaulted as it will be used for background processing,
    Here is a simple tip,
This will be the call transaction part of the program,
CALL TRANSACTION 'IW32' USING BDCDATA MODE 'N'
    MESSAGES INTO MESSTAB.
I would suggest you to make it like this,
    DATA: V_MODE TYPE C VALUE 'N'.
    *<In debug mode set V_MODE = 'A' for debugging>
CALL TRANSACTION 'IW32' USING BDCDATA MODE V_MODE
    MESSAGES INTO MESSTAB.
This will be very useful because you just need to change the value of the V_MODE at runtime as A for debugging besides it has N which is the default to be used. (i.e. you need not change the code again and again).
This will be very useful when you have to debug some program in QA or PRD servers.
    regards,
    srinivas

  • Can anyone explain me "  How to debug updaterules?"

Can anyone explain me "  How to debug updaterules?"

    Hi ALI,
Transfer rules and Update rules are the main areas within a BW system where the BW professional can transform your transaction system data into the required format for what ever InfoObject / InfoProvider is being updated.
Quite often when ABAP is used as part of your transfer and update rules there is a need to debug the code to ensure you don’t introduce any problems into your production environment.
When data is loaded into a BW system the a background process is used. This means you can not run the data load in debug mode as you would most other programs. What you need to do is run the load program in Simulation mode.
The first step to take is set a breakpoint in you coded Update/Transfer rule. This can be achieved by:
    •     Setting a breakpoint within the generated program once the rule has been activated.
    •     Locate the code manually during your debug session and setting a break-point.
    •     Hard code a breakpoint in the rule as shown below:
    o     if sy-uname = 'MYUSERID'.
    &#61607;     break.
    o     endif.
My preferred method is the first option. I try not to hard code breakpoints (second option) as I sometimes forget to remove the code once I have finished debugging and the third option takes I find take too long.
To set a break-point in the activated code you have to find the activated program and then search for your code that you want to debug. Follow these 4 steps (Update Rule):
1, View the code for the Update Rule.
2, Locate the code that you want to debug and remember some content that will identify the code that you need to debug.
3, Come back out of the code and activate your Update rule. Once activated, select “Display Activated program from the Extra’s menu.
4, Search for the code that you located in step 2 and set the break-point.
Once your beak-point has been set you then need to run the update/transfer rule in simulation mode. To achieve this you must have already loaded data into the PSA. Follow these steps:
1, Navigate to the PSA under the Monitoring section with transaction RSA1. Find the PSA Request that you want to debug and select the ‘Simulate/Cancel update’ option from the right mouse click menu.
2, The screen will then show the details tab of the InfoPackage Monitor for the specific request. Right-click on a selected Data-Packet and select Simulate.
3, Select the appropriate ‘Activate Debugging’ option for your rule (Update/transfer). Select the radio button to determine the number of records that you want to process in you debugging session and select the ‘Perform Simulation’ button.
4, Select the Data Packets, Number of Records and then the continue button.
5, The update process will start and your screen will show the debug window. Press ‘F8’ to run through your program. It will then stop at the breakpoint you set earlier.

  • QM2.6 - how to start recording in UCCX CAD station

    Hi,
I just installed QM components in UCCX CAD station but don't know how to start recording
    -WFO QM desktop
    -WFO QM recording
Is there any button on CAD or via administrator work-flow?
**I referred QM admin and user's guide but cannot figure out
    Advise please!!!

Well we use QM recording and the Cisco IP Communicator - if your are using the communicator save yourself a lot of time and headaches by ensuring your device name is in the SEPxxxxxx format - it has to be the MAC - no other format will work.
Secondly to enable recording your CAD users you will need to enable them through the "quality management administrator" application. You will need to link them and license them as well. You won't be able to do any recording unless they are licensed. The debug logs under C:\Program Files\Cisco\WFO_QM\log are helpful as well. Once you have everything configured properly don't expect to see anything under the "Recordings" tab right away but you may see recordings pop into "Archives" when you search for one of the users you are recording.

  • How to Debug PSA level

    Hello,
I am loading data from Application Server folder to PSA. I am getting few errors such has "Cannot convert one of the char"
my csv file having 40,000 records its hard to find which record having invalid char so i would like to debug
if anybody know how to debug please let me know i will assign points.
    Thanks,

    hi,
you cannot debug inPSA, from PSA to target you simulate using the simulate update option.
in the rsmo of the load, choose details tab, select the datapackage and right click u will find simulate update option.
select the records, selct whether need to debug the transfer rule or update rule.
it will directly takes you to debug screen.
use f5,f6,f7 to execute the program.

  • How to debug DAQ VIs (problem with data)

I am trying to debug (and understand) the attached VI.  I’m not asking anyone to analyze/debug it, since it is far more than an example; I am new to these forums and feel like asking such a thing would be inappropriate.
I would like advice on how to debug it.  I am also going to describe my problem to see if the cause may be obvious to someone.
The outputs of the "Angle Calc" sub-vi are fed into a state machine.  The state machine actuates outputs to move a motor and measures changing angles.  It first moves up/down, then left/right.  The attached VI is called by a top-level VI and the front panel is not usually open.  For some reason, when the front panel is opened, it behaves differently when it is called.  The behavior only changes for the right/left movements.
Here's where I'm hoping someone can point out some better debugging methods for me.
I have been using the Express Write to LVM File VI and the Convert to Dynamic Data function to write acquired data to text files for analysis after the acquisition has completed.  Are there better methods recommended for doing this?  I wish I could run through the code while recording the execution and then step through a playback of it!
As for the specific problem I am having...
In the "Right Find Stall" case, the signal wired from the "Angle Calc" VI (array size 100) is connected to a Max/Min Array function.  When I log the data coming from the Min/Max function, I see an alternation between valid data and 0 (i.e. 12.2, 0, 13.3, 0, 14.0, 0, 14.5, 0...).  When I log the data being fed into the Min/Max function I do not see 0s.
A guess of mine is that the array is empty and therefore no data is logged but Min/Max returns a 0 (not sure why this would happen).  I also have no idea why this would ALWAYS happen with the front panel opened.  I have seen the effect with the front panel closed, but never to the same degree; usually just a seemingly random zero or two but not a pattern of every other point...
    Thanks all,
    Dave

    Functional_Test.vi ‏2710 KB

Angle_calc receives array controls in and passes array indicators out.  It performs a trig function and a bit of multiplication.
I'll check out the Write to Spreadsheet File VI, haven't used it in the past.  If it will allow me to write text out that'll be enough reason for me to stop using the Express VI.
I've used Execution Highlighting and stepping before but with the data acquisition by the time the application makes it around to the next read the DAQ card has sampled a ton of data and the data coming in is no longer useful (a different state should be active by then).
I do think the problem is related to the computer slowing down with the front panel open.  I've logged the 'backlog' number of the Read function and found that the number in there is greater than 0 much more often when the VI's front panel is open and that I've seen relations between the 0s that I discussed earlier and the backlog going above 0 (usually the scan after a non-0 backlog seems to be a problem).
I need to familiarize myself with the DAQ basics, the buffer, backlog, and relation to sampling rate, etc.
In a simple VI I just wrote, I noticed that if I increased the sampling rate high enough, data being acquired into a chart cuts-out on a regular basis; instead of a smooth line, I see small dashes or dots of data (spaces in between).  I don't understand this- I would expect data to be lost but not "no data" to be read in.  I think understanding what is happening here would be helpful.
