How to debug weblogic 8.1 with eclipse ?

Hi,
how can I debug my weblogic 8.1 application ?
I`m using eclipse, but the plugin I´ve got, is only for versions 6.x and 7.0 .
So I tried remote debugging but eclipse could not connect to the VM, I do not
know why.
Any ideas ??
Thanks
Holger

It is quite easy to rewrite the plugin to work with 8.1
We have done so - please contact me if you want the plugin.

Paul Nyheim

  • How to debug java web start with jdk1.5?

i want to debug a JWS app with eclipse, not java console, so I follow Unofficial Java Web Start/JNLP FAQ(http://lopica.sourceforge.net/faq.html) and still not worked.
the attached session worked at first and broke soon, and I found some idea from Unofficial Web Start FAQ Update/Errata(http://lopica.sourceforge.net/update.html). I did the following:
    set JAVAWS_TRACE_NATIVE=1
    javaws http://localhost/test/test.jnlp
copy command line from popup window.
    add "transport=dt_socket,server=y,address=7000" to command line:
    C:\progra~1\Java\jdk1.5.0_03\bin\javaw.exe -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,address=7000 -Xbootclasspath/a:C:\progra~1\Java\jre1.5.0_04\lib\javaws.jar;C:\progra~1\Java\jre1.5.0_04\lib\deploy.jar -classpath C:\progra~1\Java\jre1.5.0_04\lib\deploy.jar -Djnlpx.home=C:\progra~1\Java\jre1.5.0_04\bin -Djnlpx.splashport=4362 -Djnlpx.jvm="C:\progra~1\Java\jdk1.5.0_03\bin\javaw.exe" -Djnlpx.remove=false -Djava.security.policy=file:C:\progra~1\Java\jre1.5.0_04\lib\security\javaws.policy -DtrustProxy=true -Xverify:remote -Djnlpx.heapsize=NULL,NULL com.sun.javaws.Main http://localhost:8080/test/test.jnlp
the debugger still gets detached. I don't know what's wrong.
JWS has come out for many years, I still found so many undocumented skills, even netbeans5 doesn't support it. Sun want to give up java?

Try checking out this other thread, particularly the reply from dietz333 (I happen to know he's a regular genius when it comes to JavaWS):

  • How to Debug a Java Project in Eclipse using Tomcat6.0

    Hi
Can anybody help me with the following questions.
1.How to create a java project in eclipse(I am using jsp, servlets, jsf, spring, jasper, struts).
2.How to debug my application in Eclipse Europa by putting break points.
3.how should i add Tomcat6.0 to my project in order to debug my application so that i can put break points while running the applications and observe the values.
    Thanks
    Bala

You may find this tutorial useful regarding to JSF, Eclipse and Tomcat: http://balusc.blogspot.com/2008/01/jsf-tutorial-with-eclipse-and-tomcat.html
To put breakpoints, just doubleclick on the left gray rule of the code, you'll get blue bullets at the left rule, indicating a break point. Run Tomcat in debug modus (rightclick Tomcat debug). Use the Eclipse debug perspective to step in the code (window open perspective debug).

  • Debug Weblogic 10.0 with 2-Way SSL: Error 401--Unauthorized

    Hi,
I am working on Weblogic 10.0 with 2-Way SSL configuration. User uses X.509 certificate to login into the system. I have a default UserNameMapper which maps the CN to the a user name in the LDAP user store. User can login without problem. But after user login, when he tries to hit a new page before the original page fully loaded, he will get a "Error 401--Unauthorized".
I turned on the Weblogic security debug and got the following warning with stack trace. Can anybody help me to figure out what's wrong? How do I troubleshoot this issue? Any help is really appreciated.

  • How to create a .exe file with eclipse 3.1

Hello every body. I want to know how create a .exe file with eclipse 3.1. A friend tell me it's possible but he forgot how ! So I ask my question ay you, how can I do that? I think it's like in Dev-C++, when he compiling the programme he create
a .exe file but in eclipse, i don't know how do that. Please help me, I have finish some programs but I don't know how create .exe file for give their at my friend.
    Thank's.
P.S : I'm a young french so maybe there are some mistake on my post. I hope you understand it.

There might be a plugin in eclipse to do this, but I don't know what it is.
The normal way to deploy a program is to create an executable jar file. This will be a .jar not a .exe.
    Or you can try ggogle.

  • How to debug DAQ VIs (problem with data)

I am trying to debug (and understand) the attached VI.  I’m not asking anyone to analyze/debug it, since it is far more than an example; I am new to these forums and feel like asking such a thing would be inappropriate.
I would like advice on how to debug it.  I am also going to describe my problem to see if the cause may be obvious to someone.
The outputs of the "Angle Calc" sub-vi are fed into a state machine.  The state machine actuates outputs to move a motor and measures changing angles.  It first moves up/down, then left/right.  The attached VI is called by a top-level VI and the front panel is not usually open.  For some reason, when the front panel is opened, it behaves differently when it is called.  The behavior only changes for the right/left movements.
Here's where I'm hoping someone can point out some better debugging methods for me.
I have been using the Express Write to LVM File VI and the Convert to Dynamic Data function to write acquired data to text files for analysis after the acquisition has completed.  Are there better methods recommended for doing this?  I wish I could run through the code while recording the execution and then step through a playback of it!
As for the specific problem I am having...
In the "Right Find Stall" case, the signal wired from the "Angle Calc" VI (array size 100) is connected to a Max/Min Array function.  When I log the data coming from the Min/Max function, I see an alternation between valid data and 0 (i.e. 12.2, 0, 13.3, 0, 14.0, 0, 14.5, 0...).  When I log the data being fed into the Min/Max function I do not see 0s.
A guess of mine is that the array is empty and therefore no data is logged but Min/Max returns a 0 (not sure why this would happen).  I also have no idea why this would ALWAYS happen with the front panel opened.  I have seen the effect with the front panel closed, but never to the same degree; usually just a seemingly random zero or two but not a pattern of every other point...
    Thanks all,
    Dave

    Functional_Test.vi ‏2710 KB

Angle_calc receives array controls in and passes array indicators out.  It performs a trig function and a bit of multiplication.
I'll check out the Write to Spreadsheet File VI, haven't used it in the past.  If it will allow me to write text out that'll be enough reason for me to stop using the Express VI.
I've used Execution Highlighting and stepping before but with the data acquisition by the time the application makes it around to the next read the DAQ card has sampled a ton of data and the data coming in is no longer useful (a different state should be active by then).
I do think the problem is related to the computer slowing down with the front panel open.  I've logged the 'backlog' number of the Read function and found that the number in there is greater than 0 much more often when the VI's front panel is open and that I've seen relations between the 0s that I discussed earlier and the backlog going above 0 (usually the scan after a non-0 backlog seems to be a problem).
I need to familiarize myself with the DAQ basics, the buffer, backlog, and relation to sampling rate, etc.
In a simple VI I just wrote, I noticed that if I increased the sampling rate high enough, data being acquired into a chart cuts-out on a regular basis; instead of a smooth line, I see small dashes or dots of data (spaces in between).  I don't understand this- I would expect data to be lost but not "no data" to be read in.  I think understanding what is happening here would be helpful.

  • Weblogic 10.3 with eclipse gallelio

    Hi,
I just want to integrate weblogic server with eclipse gallelio. Currently I am not able to see option to choose weblogic server in the avaiable server list itself. Do I need to add any plugin manually?? If so, please let me know the path of it to download and recipe for the same.
In one of the suggestions it is mentioned that download workshop from below URL. Is it true?
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/bea_main.html#devtools
Please suggest as I am much interested to do this.

Seems Eclipse Galileo doesn't have support for WebLogic 10.3 rather it supports only up to 10.0 of WebLogic Server. Thanks.

    Hi,
has anybody experience with debugging shared library files in eclipse?
I have created a shared library file in eclipse and downloaded it on the myrio device into following location: \usr\lib. I´m able to access the file in Labview.....this wors great. But I want to debug this file in Eclipse like explained in the following NI tutorial: http://www.ni.com/tutorial/14690/en/
But I'm not able to get it running. In the debug view of Eclipse I get 2 Errors. In the Disassembly window: "Cannot access memory at address 0x0" .
And the other is:  "No source available for "" "
Has anybody experience what I must do to get it running?
    Thank you very much!
    regards

Has nobody experience with this problem?
I will explain a little bit more......
I want to debug (with setting Breakpoints) a shared obefect file in Eclipse. For convenience I created a very simple C File:
This is the dedicated project tree with the succesfully created so-file:
I copied the created so-file to the MyRIO device with the remote system Explorer to the following location: \usr\local\lib
Next I have make a power-cycle from the myRIO device. After that I can sucessfully include the .so file in Labview. This works all great to this point:
But I want more.....I want debug the c-file in Eclipse and follow the NI tutorial: http://www.ni.com/tutorial/14690/en/
I have set up the debugger like explained in the tutorial:
But if I debug I get this window with several errors:
Hope someone can help me to get it running!
    Many thanks!

  • How to debug Injected remote thread with symbols (not a DLL just a thread)

I am trying to debug my injected code assignment(code injected into explorer but for the porpose of my research assignment it can be any 3rd party code). I am able to connect to my VM(remotely with a remote debugging monitors) and attach to my breaking thread
(int 3) inside explorer, but I can only see my code as dis-assembly code. I need to see my source code (have the debugger look for it for that offset/thread).(I believe i have all the pdbs stored correctly on the other system as I was able to debug an "injected"
dll module with its source code,(after attaching to that process of-course)
I want to debug my Injected code with my source code, (not an injected dll!). so my question is: 1. is it possible to debug with source code a remote create thread ?(CreateRemoteThread)
any other issue with this when trying to do it remotely ? (I'm doing a remote debug with msvsmon.exe) ? or can I connect the source code my self in any way ? can a build with .bsc file make any different in helping the debugger find the source code of my
    injected thread ?
    Please any thoughts anyone ??

  • Building EAR for WebLogic 8.1 with Eclipse plugin

I am developing an EJB app for deployment in WebLogic, JBoss and Sun ONE. I use plugins for JBoss and Sun ONE, with the help of XDoclet, and have no problem creating the required XML and JAR files. However, the WebLogic Workshop creates many files, like oztplsEOImpl.java, oztp1sHomeImpl.java, Hello_oztp1s_EOImplRTD.xml and many others, while the Eclipse plugin only creates the Home and Remote interface .java files, and the prerequisite .xml files (ejb-jar.xml, weblogic-ejb-jar.xml, and weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml).
Why is that? And how can I build/package the EAR file from within Eclipse, without using WebLogic tools? I am trying to maintain a single codebase, with multiple XDoclet tags to create the appropriate interfaces and XML files. So far, I could achieve this for JBoss and Sun ONE, but it seems to be impossible for WebLogic.
    Thanks for any enlightenment.
    Alex Molochnikov

It is quite easy to rewrite the plugin to work with 8.1
We have done so - please contact me if you want the plugin.

  • How to debug Sun's classes using Eclipse

Sometimes happens to me during the debugging of my application to have the necessity to "step into"
in some Sun's classes (java.lang.String, or swing classes or something else).
Even if Sun provide us the sources, I have not found a way to debug Sun classes because the Sun
classes are shipped in jars without the debug informations.
Eclipse open correctly the Sun's source but, without the debug informations into Sun's jars, is impossible
    to proceed with debugging.
    Does anyone can help me?
    Thanks.

I have not used Eclipse but I think this may do it. While u are build' ing ur project can u place the jar files in the source path so that their classes also get compiled! If u can do then u can step into sun's code.

  • Remote Debugging Weblogic 92 application using Eclipse 3.4

    Hi,
    1. I have the below debug options in the startweblogic script.
    set JAVA_OPTIONS=-Xdebug -Xnoagent -Djava.compiler=NONE -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,address=javadebug,suspend=n
    2. I have configured remote debugging in Eclipse. Connection type - Standard Socket (attach), host =localhost, port 7001. 7001 is the listen port that I have specified in config.xml.
    3. When I run weblogic, I see the message listening for transport dt_socket address. Since address=javadebug, each time the dt_socket address is different.
    4. In Eclipse IDE, the debug prespective indicates the server has started. But when I click on the debug buttin in the Debug configuration dialog, I get the error below
Failed to connect to remote VM. Connection timed out.
    org.eclipse.jdi.TimeoutException
Note: Another thread in this forum mentions using the same port that is specified in the java_options but that did not work either. Any ideas what might be wrong?
    Thanks.
    RS.

I think that value of "javadebug" is only used for shared memory transport, not socket transport. You have to choose a port that isn't being used by anything else. The value 8453 is a typical default value for this. Specify that instead of "javadebug", and use 8453 in your connection from Eclipse.
