How to deploy my wsp in a single web applciation

I want to deploy my solution to a single web application. I used the following script:
Add-SPSolution -d:/mywebpart.wsp
Install-SPSolution mywebpart.wsp -WebApplication "mywebappln" -GacDeployment
But the solution is now available in the 'Site Collection Features' list of all web applications.
I don't want it to be deployed to those web applications. How can I deploy the solution so my web part is only available in a certain web application.

Hi,
1.Add-SPSolution
-d:/mywebpart.wsp
2.Go To central administration -->System
setting -->Farm management
3.Click on manage farm Solution .
4.you will see list of wsp files with
your .wsp file.
5.select your wsp and deploy to specific
web application(you can select web application from drop down list)

  • How to deploy one common filter for all web applications

    I want to deploy a filter for all the web applications i have running on weblogic server. I don't want to deploy the filter just within a specific web
    context, was able to achieve this on tomcat as it provides a common web.xml
    which will apply to all web apps. But i don't know how to achieve this on Weblogic. Your help would so much appreciated.

    Thanks Vidyut! You've answered my question.
    I placed the jar file in the $CATALINA_HOME/shared/lib directory. But where should I place the taglib TLD file? And how should I reference it in web.xml?
    Currently, my web.xml is as follows and it doesn't work.

  • How to limit search results to a single web

    This is probably an easy one to figure out, but I wonder what the best way would be to limit search results from a single web - do you create a content source for that or is there a better way, one which you can configure for multiple search site collections?

    Hi,
    In SharePoint 2013, we can create content resource for Search Service Application, site collection and site as below:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj683115(v=office.15).aspx
    If you are using Search related web part, you could create content resource in site collection and build query to path=http://webapplication*. Then configure web part to use the specific content resource. Please check the link below, the link is for creating
    content resource in SSA, you could go to site settings > site collection > search result sources.
    http://techmikael.blogspot.com/2013/04/limiting-search-results-in-sharepoint.html
    However, I’d recommend you using property filter to limit search results to one web application. Please try the steps below:
    Build your query.
    Basics > query text, input path:http://sp:26* (this limit search results to web application sp:26)
    Click test query and see if it return results.

    Hi,
    I am new to SharePoint.  I am having one custom solution which has images, web parts, features etc.  My farm has
    4 WFEs

    My question should I need to deploy the solution all WFEs and App Servers, Please help?

    Hi,
    I agree with Sundar, alternate option is to upload your solution to the Central Administration and activate.  This will take care of syncing to other WFEs and App Servers.

  • Deploying servlets in the Sun One Web Server 6.1

    Friends, Please let me know how to deploy servlets in the Sun One Web Server 6.1.
    Thanks in advance,
    Madan.

    You cannot get that behavior.
    When an SSL client and server negotiate the connection, the client sends a list of all the cipher suites it supports. From that list the server will pick the most secure cipher suite which it also supports (if the server doesn't support any of the cipher suites proposed by the client, the connection establishment will fail).
    RC4 (128bit) is more secure than 3DES (112 bit). Thus, a server will never pick 3DES above RC4_128 if both are valid options (i.e. when both client and server support both). If you really wanted to force use of 3DES you need to disable RC4_128 in the server (or all the clients; or both).

  • Visual Studio 2013 does not rebuild all code resulting in old code deployed through wsp

    I recently converted my SharePoint 2010 project from Visual Studio 2010 to Visual Studio 2013. I have the Premium version with Update 1.
    I quickly noticed that 2013 has bugs. For instance I could get a build error out of nowhere while developing, stating that a method recently added to Class
    A used by Class B, does not exist. The only way to resolve is to restart Visual Studio. Sometimes a rebuild would do the trick too.
    I can live with such quirks as a developer. The big problem is that it does not build the latest version if you are using the "Publish to File System"
    to get a wsp for deployment on another server.
    I've had problems with incomplete builds since my first deploy with wsp built by Visual Studio 2013, but I was not able to pinpoint it with certainty until
    last night.
    I have two classes used by a timer job. In a new version they back up some files after using them. After upgrading with the new wsp, I restarted the timer
    job service on all servers and ran the job, but the files did not back up. So I went and added a log statement to the backup code of one class and did another clean/rebuild/publish to file system from Visual Studio. I upgraded using the new wsp and then restarted
    the timer job service on all servers. When I ran the timer job service, the class where I added the log statement backed up the files it should. The other class still did not. So I added a log statement to this class as well and deployed that. Then this class
    started to backup files too.
    So I conclude that Visual Studio 2013 is failing at its core in a very dangerous way leaving assemblies built in an unknown, incomplete limbo state.
    I am downgrading all projects to Visual Studio 2012.
    This post is mainly to share my experience with the community, but if someone at Microsoft wants to investigate the issue, here is a suggestion on how to reproduce:
    Have Visual Studio in Debug build.
    Make a change to a class in a SharePoint project.
    Deploy the change to a local SharePoint installation.
    Change to Release build.
    Use Publish to file system to get a wsp. Open this wsp, copy the assembly, reflect and investigate to see that code change is actually there.

  • How to deploy a war file on Weblogic Server 7.0??

    Hello Everyone
    I am trying to deploy a servlet on Weblogic Server 7.0 as a WAR file. Can anyone of u plz tell me the steps required to do that. I am posting this question on EJb forum and not on servlets coz this is not a servlet problem, rather this is something which is related to J2EE, ie how to deploy a war file on J2EE Server.
    This is how i have done it, but this is not working---
    (1) First i created a directory structure for the web application according to J2EE Specification.
    C:\Work\
    myServletWAR\
    META-INF\
    WEB-INF\
    classes\
    HelloServlet.class
    web.xml
    i.e within work directory, there is a dic called myServletWAR which is my application directory which contains 2 sub directories viz META-INF which contains the mainifest file being generated by the jar utility. the second directory in the myServletWAR application dir is WEB-INF, which contains one file called web.xml for servlet mapping and one directory classes which contains HelloServlet.class
    (2) I used following command for creating war file from myServletWAR director(i.e from my web application's directory).
    jar -cvf TestServletWAR.war .
    This creates the TestServletWAR.war file in myServletWAR dir.
    Here is how my Servlet and web.xml looks like...
    Servlet code
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    public class HelloServlet extends HttpServlet
    public void doPost ( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res )
    throws IOException, ServletException
    doGet( req, res );
    public void doGet ( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res )
    throws IOException, ServletException
    res.setContentType( "text/html" ); // Can also use "text/plain" or others.
    PrintWriter out = res.getWriter();
    // Get the requestor's IP address (See JavaDocs to see how to get other info):
    String addr = req.getRemoteAddr();
    // Create output (the response):
    out.println( "<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>HelloServlet in myServletWAR</TITLE></HEAD>" );
    out.println( "<BODY><H1 ALIGN=\"CENTER\">" );
    out.println( "Hello " + addr + ", from HelloServlet in myServletWAR!" );
    out.println( "</H1></BODY></HTML>" );
    out.close();

    After deploying the TestServletWAR.war file on the weblogic 7.0, i tried to execute the servlet from the browser by the following URL
    http://localhost:7001/myServletWAR/myHello
    I am getting the HTTP 404 Error, which is an indication that weblogic was unable to find the resourse, which it was requested for. Can anybody plz tell me what i m doing worng?? do i need to use weblogic related xml file (i.e weblogic.xml) also along with web.xml. If yes, then what all i need to include that. I m not very sure. A sample weblogic.xml file for this HelloWorld example will help me a lot.
    Looking forward for your help

  • How to deploy a JSR-168 Portlet in Weblogic?

    I am running WLS 8.1 with the advanced JSR-168 support installed (not yet running
    SP2). I have a JSR-168 portlet war that I had been testing in the JSR-168 reference
    implementation (pluto). Can someone please point me to the instructions on how
    to now import my portlet war into Workshop so that I can add it to my Weblogic
    portal?
    Thanks!
    -David

    You cannot simply "deploy" a JSR 168 portlet into Weblogic using a WAR file in
    my experience. This is what I did to achieve deployment of a JSR 168 portlet in
    BEA WLS 8.1SP2:
    * File | New | Portlet | Java Portlet
    * Just type in the name of your view class name when asked for it.
    This creates a "YourAppName.portlet" file, which I believe Bea requires for any
    Portlet in order to make it available for use in their portals.
    * Add your files (*.jar, *.java *.jsp, etc).
    * Modify WEB-INF/portlet.xml to include all required descriptor elements that
    you have in your WAR file (keep in mind that there is only one portlet.xml for
    all portlets in a single web application)
    I was unable to use redirects for some reason, but it worked fine with include.

  • How to deploy a RMI application

    I really need help here as I am at a complete loss. I have developed my RMI application and everything works on one single machine. Can somebody put me in the right direction as to how to deploy this to run on differnt machines probably located at different places? Will i definitely need a web server?
    How do I go about this? Please help!!!

    Can somebody put me in the right direction as to how to deploy this to run on differnt machines probably located at different places?You need to separate your application into 3 JAR files
    (a) common: the remote interface(s), the stub(s), and every application class named in them, and so on until closure
    (b) server: the server Impl classes and everything they depend on that isn't already in (a)
    (c) client: the client classes and everything they depend on that isn't already in (a)
    The server JAR goes at the server. The client JAR file goes at the client. The common JAR file goes at the server. Whether it goes to the client too depends on:
    Will i definitely need a web server?Not unless you want to use the codebase feature, i.e. java.rmi.server.codebase. If you use this, it has to be the URL of the common JAR file, ending I believe in .jar!, and the web server needs to deliver that JAR file in response to that URL.
    If you don't use the codebase feature, you don't need a WEB server, and the common JAR file is also required at the client, and on the Registry's classpath too if you're not using LocateRegistry.createRegistry().
