    How can I send an email from Sharepoint Online using sandbox solution?
    If possible I do not want to use workflow.
    Is It possible to do it without using workflow?

    hello Steven Andrews,
    when any user sends a message using contact us page in SharePoint online.
    1. We are inserting item in Contact Us List . - This is working fine
    for anonymous users also. We have used Office365 anonymous codeplex wsp and it is working fine. Anonymous user is able to insert new record in the Contact Us List.
    2. Once, new record is inserted in Contact Us list, we want to fire email notifying thanks to the user on his email id as well as to our company x person for notification of new inquiry.
    We tried using Workflow having impersonation step for  anonymous user but it is not working for Anonymous users. Workflow is able to sent the email if someone logged into system but not working for Anonymous user although workflow is getting started
    but not able to send email although used Imperonsation step.
    We are stuck into implementing second step.

  • How to deploy SSRS 2008 reports to Sharepoint 2013.

     Hi,
       Can some one guide me how to deploy SSRS 2008 reports to SharePoint 2013 by giving the exact steps from where to begin. We have all our reports deployed in SharePoint 2010.Need to migrate those reports to Sharepoint 2013 instance. I
    also want to know how and where exactly we modify the connection strings to manage the data sources for the reports . Since I am very new to this field I am not able to properly understand other sites i have gone through . I have gone through the prerequisites
    also.Kindly help me by providing step by step method.
    Thanks,
    Mridhula

    If you don't just want to upgrade your database, simply open the report project (which should be on your local file system) and edit the report properties, changing the Report Server URLs appropriately to the new SharePoint server URLs.

  • How to import Solarwinds Dashboards into a SharePoint 2010 site?

    Hello ,
    I am planning to import solarwinds dashboard in a SharePoint 2010 site, so could anyone please tell me how to achieve this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Srikanth G.

    Hi Srikanth,
    Main purpose of the dashboard is to display the real time data and the dashboard should be updated very often. This can be achieved by using RSS feed.
    RSS feed gives data in XML format. By Using the  below piece of code, you can iterate the XML and fetch the data. Once you receive the data , keep it in datatable and display it in the dashboard webpart as you like.
    XmlReaderSettings settings = new XmlReaderSettings();
    settings.IgnoreComments = true;
    settings.IgnoreWhitespace = true;
    settings.CheckCharacters = true;
    settings.CloseInput = true;
    settings.IgnoreProcessingInstructions = true;
    var client = new WebClient();
    string URL = <SolarWindsRSSURL>;
    try
    var feedAsString = client.DownloadString(URL).Replace((char)(0x1F), Convert.ToChar(" "));
    XmlReader reader = XmlReader.Create(new MemoryStream(Encoding.Default.GetBytes(feedAsString)), settings);
    //XmlReader reader = XmlReader.Create(URL);
    SyndicationFeed Feed = SyndicationFeed.Load(reader);
    reader.Close();
    foreach (SyndicationItem item in Feed.Items)
    //Solar Winds RSS data

  • An Enterprise Data Dictionary / Business Glossary solution using SharePoint Online

    Hi everyone!
    I have a requirement to create a metadata repository (data dictionaries of various SQL, Oracle and DB2 databases) and a business glossary of terms and associate the database columns in the various data dictionaries to the business terms. I also want to allow
    data stewards to update their respective dictionaries/terms. It would be nice if there is a way to extract the metadata and update it directly and automatically from the various databases instead of manually copied and re-copied. Also, the end product needs
    to be seen by all internal enterprise users and maybe even outside ones.
    How can I implement this in SharePoint online/Office365?

    Hi Simon. Group file storage is different to OneDrive for Business storage. With OneDrive for Business storage each user in your organisation receives 1TB of personal storage (assuming they have the appropriate licence). For Group files, storage is automatically
    taken from your SharePoint Online team site pooled storage.
    Check this article for confirmation of your OneDrive for Business storage allocation and group storage:
    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/SharePoint-Online-software-boundaries-and-limits-8f34ff47-b749-408b-abc0-b605e1f6d498
    SharePoint Online team sites have a sync limit of 5,000 (20,000 for OneDrive for Business). I would think the group files sync limit would be 5,000, too.
    If a user has their account removed you can still access their files for up to a certain period of time and assign yourself as administrator of their OneDrive for Business to get access to those files. Check out this post:
    http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/148/t/343555.aspx
    Group files are referenced under the small business premium plan here so I would expect they are available for your plan:

  • How to Deploy OOB Webparts created in Sharepoint 2010 designer to production system

    Hi,
    Can anyone help me the process of deploying the OOB Webparts developed in Sharepoint 2010 designer to Production Server.
    Actually i developed some OOB Webparts and Workflow using Sharepoint 2010 designer.
    So, i want to move these OOB Webparts and Workflow to my Production System.
    Please assist me what is the process?
    Rama

    Hi,
    Thanks for posting your query,
    There are a lot of mechanisms for doing this, but doing a simple export from your dev environment and then an import into your prod environment is probably a good place to start. You can move the whole site or just a list/library. You can do it via PowerShell
    or Central Admin:
    Export:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee428301.aspx
    Import:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee428322.aspx

  • How can I delete a subsite from SharePoint Online using a workflow designed in SPD2013

    Hello,
    I'm trying to build a workflow that will delete a subsite when an item in a list (Job Numbers) on a parent site is changed to a particular value.
    My current workflow is triggered when an item in the Job Numbers list is changed. The workflow checks if the Completed column (a custom column of type choice) has the valued 'archived'. If it doesn't the workflow ends, if it does I want the workflow to delete
    the subsite associated with that item (Job Number).
    The subsite address is easily known as it is simply https://mysharepoint.sharepoint.com/current/[Job Number]
    I believe I need to use a webservice with the Call HTTP... action but I don't know which webservice or how to implement said webservice.
    Specifically my questions are,
    1. Is there a webservice I can call in a SPD2013 workflow to delete a subsite?
    2. How do I use this webservice in my workflow?
    Please help, I've been stuck on and off for weeks trying to find blogs and walk-throughs to shine some light on this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dan

    Please find your answers below...
    1. Is there a webservice I can call in a SPD2013 workflow to delete a subsite?
    Site Service : http://<server-url>/_vti_bin/sites.asmx
    Web Method : DeleteWeb
    Parameter : url(string)
    2. How do I use this webservice in my workflow?
    SPD2013 has introduced a new workflow action to call web services. Here is the article.

  • How to deploy solution in a farm

    Hi,
    I am new to SharePoint.  I am having one custom solution which has images, web parts, features etc.  My farm has

    My question should I need to deploy the solution all WFEs and App Servers, Please help?

    Hi,
    I agree with Sundar, alternate option is to upload your solution to the Central Administration and activate.  This will take care of syncing to other WFEs and App Servers.

    Thanks & Regards, Suresh Gaddam

    Hi,
    there is some restriction concerning WSP deployment on SharePoint Online: you can not deploy 'farm' solutions, but only 'user' solutions, also known as 'sandboxed solutions'.
    A sandbox solution has a restricted access to the SharePoint Platform.
    I don't know much about SCOM, but I think you'd better check if this WSP can actually be deployed on SharePoint Online (but I don't think it can, because it seems to be a farm solution). Perhaps there is another version of it ?
    hope it helps
