How to deploy to SharePoint Mapped Folder in 15 Hive

I am deploying a solution that is built in Visual Studio 2012 as part of an empty SharePoint 2010 project. This project has a mapped folder to XSL. After I deploy the solution, I see that the files are deployed to 14 hive but how can I instruct it to deploy
to 15 hive? I dont see a SharePoint 2013 project template in VS 2012.
Thanks!

In order to get the templates into VS, you need to install Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012 which can be found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/office-dev-tools-for-visual-studio (direct install :
http://aka.ms/OfficeDevToolsForVS2012).

    Hi Anurag ,
    The information is stored in the WebUrlMapRules resultset in the SecurityInfo.hda file and can also be viewed via IdcService=GET_WEBURLMAP_PAGE.
    Test it and see if that works .

  • Using PowerTools How to Map folder to new TeamProject or Existing TeamProject

    Can somebody guide me please, how to map folder to connect to new Teamproject using Powertools .

    Hi AjayKumar,
    Thanks for your reply.
    In TFS Source Control, the MAP mean mapping source files from TFS Source Control to the local workspace folder. I don’t think can mapping a new folder(non TFS source file) to TFS Server, we should add/check-in this new folder to TFS Source Control if you
    want store it in TFS Source Control.
    To add and check-in this new folder to TFS Source Control, please right-click on your new folder and select
    Team Foundation Server>>Add…, in the opened
    Add to Source Control dialog, ensure your new folder displayed under
    Item to add tab, then click Finish button. Then right-click on this new folder again and select
    Team Foundation Server>>Check In… to check this new folder to team project.
    Note: your new folder need located in the local workspace folder, then you can check-in to TFS Source Control using TFS Power Tools.

  • How to deploy SSRS 2008 reports to Sharepoint 2013.

     Hi,
       Can some one guide me how to deploy SSRS 2008 reports to SharePoint 2013 by giving the exact steps from where to begin. We have all our reports deployed in SharePoint 2010.Need to migrate those reports to Sharepoint 2013 instance. I
    also want to know how and where exactly we modify the connection strings to manage the data sources for the reports . Since I am very new to this field I am not able to properly understand other sites i have gone through . I have gone through the prerequisites
    also.Kindly help me by providing step by step method.
    Thanks,
    Mridhula

    If you don't just want to upgrade your database, simply open the report project (which should be on your local file system) and edit the report properties, changing the Report Server URLs appropriately to the new SharePoint server URLs.

    Good morning Kunal,
    Naren is right, no problem deploying the content of different modules in the same schema.
    In case you are using OWB 9.0.4 or more recent, have you defined module locations and connectors properly and have you registered the locations in the Deployment Manager?
    Good luck, Patrick

  • What cannot be and can be deployed in sharepoint sandbox solution

    what cannot be and can be deployed in sharepoint sandbox solution

    Hi,
    Sandboxed Solution Limitations
    When a sandboxed solution is deployed, the array of SharePoint functionality available to it is limited to help reduce any security vulnerabilities it may have. Some of these limitations include the following:
    Sandboxed solutions have a restricted subset of deployable solution elements available to them. Potentially vulnerable SharePoint project templates, such as site definitions and workflows, are not available.
    SharePoint runs sandboxed solution code in a process (SPUCWorkerProcess.exe) separate from the main IIS application pool (w3wp.exe) process.
    Mapped folders cannot be added to the project.
    Types in the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 assembly Microsoft.Office.Server cannot be used in sandboxed solutions. Also, only types in the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 assembly Microsoft.SharePoint can be used in sandboxed solutions.
    It is important to note that specifying a SharePoint solution as a sandboxed solution has no affect on SharePoint server; it only determines how the SharePoint project is deployed to SharePoint from Visual Studio and what assemblies it binds to. It does not
    affect the generated .wsp file, and the .wsp file has no data that directly correlates to the Sandboxed Solution property.
    Capabilities and Elements in Sandboxed Solutions
    Sandboxed solutions support the following capabilities and elements:
    Content Types/Fields
    Custom actions
    Declarative workflows
    Event receivers
    Feature callouts
    List Definitions
    List Instances
    Module/files
    Navigation
    Onet.xml
    SPItemEventReceiver
    SPListEventReceiver
    SPWebEventReceiver
    Support for all Web Parts that derive from System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.WebPart
    Web Parts
    WebTemplate feature elements (instead of Webtemp.xml)
    Visual Web Parts
    Sandboxed solutions do not support the following capabilities and elements:
    Application Pages
    Custom Action Group
    Farm-scoped features
    HideCustomAction element
    Web Application-scoped features
    Workflows with code

  • How to deploy a war file on Weblogic Server 7.0??

    Hello Everyone
    I am trying to deploy a servlet on Weblogic Server 7.0 as a WAR file. Can anyone of u plz tell me the steps required to do that. I am posting this question on EJb forum and not on servlets coz this is not a servlet problem, rather this is something which is related to J2EE, ie how to deploy a war file on J2EE Server.
    This is how i have done it, but this is not working---
    (1) First i created a directory structure for the web application according to J2EE Specification.
    C:\Work\
    myServletWAR\
    META-INF\
    WEB-INF\
    classes\
    HelloServlet.class
    web.xml
    i.e within work directory, there is a dic called myServletWAR which is my application directory which contains 2 sub directories viz META-INF which contains the mainifest file being generated by the jar utility. the second directory in the myServletWAR application dir is WEB-INF, which contains one file called web.xml for servlet mapping and one directory classes which contains HelloServlet.class
    (2) I used following command for creating war file from myServletWAR director(i.e from my web application's directory).
    jar -cvf TestServletWAR.war .
    This creates the TestServletWAR.war file in myServletWAR dir.
    Here is how my Servlet and web.xml looks like...
    Servlet code
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    public class HelloServlet extends HttpServlet
    public void doPost ( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res )
    throws IOException, ServletException
    doGet( req, res );
    public void doGet ( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res )
    throws IOException, ServletException
    res.setContentType( "text/html" ); // Can also use "text/plain" or others.
    PrintWriter out = res.getWriter();
    // Get the requestor's IP address (See JavaDocs to see how to get other info):
    String addr = req.getRemoteAddr();
    // Create output (the response):
    out.println( "<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>HelloServlet in myServletWAR</TITLE></HEAD>" );
    out.println( "<BODY><H1 ALIGN=\"CENTER\">" );
    out.println( "Hello " + addr + ", from HelloServlet in myServletWAR!" );
    out.println( "</H1></BODY></HTML>" );
    out.close();
    ************************Servlet Ends Here **************************

    After deploying the TestServletWAR.war file on the weblogic 7.0, i tried to execute the servlet from the browser by the following URL
    http://localhost:7001/myServletWAR/myHello
    I am getting the HTTP 404 Error, which is an indication that weblogic was unable to find the resourse, which it was requested for. Can anybody plz tell me what i m doing worng?? do i need to use weblogic related xml file (i.e weblogic.xml) also along with web.xml. If yes, then what all i need to include that. I m not very sure. A sample weblogic.xml file for this HelloWorld example will help me a lot.
    Looking forward for your help
    Thanx in advance

  • How to populate a sharepoint 2010 list from the active directory. How to populate a sharepoint 2010 list with all sharepoint user profiles

    How to populate a sharepoint 2010 from the active directory.
    I want a list of all the computers in the active directory,
    another one with all users.
    I want also to populate a sharepoint 2010 list from the sharepoint user profiles.
    Thanks
    sz

    While
    the contacts list is usually filled out for contacts that are outside the company, there are times when you would use a contacts list to store internal and external resources.  Wouldn’t it be nice if you didn’t have to re-type your internal contacts’
    information that are already in the system?  Now you can with a little InfoPath customization on the contacts list.
    Here’s our plan:
    Create the contacts list, and open in InfoPath
    Create a data connection to the User Profile web service
    Customize the form adding some text, a people picker and a button
    Create InfoPath rules that will populate the contact fields from the user fields in the User Profile store
    Let’s get going!  Before we begin, make sure you have InfoPath 2010 installed locally on your computer.  I also want to give credit Laura
    Rogers and Darvish Shadravan’s book Using
    Microsoft InfoPath 2010 with Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Step by Step.  I know it looks like a lot of steps, but it’s easy once you get the hang of it.
    So obviously we need a contacts list.  If you don’t already have one, go to the SharePoint site where it will live, and create a contacts list.
    From the list, click the List tab on the ribbon, then click Customize form:
    So now we have our form open in InfoPath 2010.  Let’s add our elements to the form.
    Above all the fields, let’s add some text instructing users what to do with the the field we’re about to add (.e.g To enter an existing user’s information, choose the user below).
    Insert a people picker control by clicking the Person/Group Picker control in the Controls section of the ribbon.  This will add a column to the contacts list called group.
    Below the people picker, insert a button control from the same section of the ribbon as above.  With the button still highlighted, click the Control Tools|Properties tab on the ribbon.
    Then in the Label box, change the text to something more appropriate to our task (e.g. Click here to load user data!).
    You can drag the button control a little larger to account for the text.
    We should end up with something like this:
    Before we can populate the fields with user data, we need to create a connection to the User Profile Service.
    Add a data connection to the User Profile Service
    Click the Data tab on the ribbon, and click the option From Web Service, and From SOAP Web Service.
    For the location, enter the URL of your SharePoint site in the following format – http://<site url>/_vti_bin/UserProfileService.asmx?WSDL.  Click Next.
    Note - for the URL, it can be any SharePoint site URL, not just to the site where your list is.
    For the operation, choose GetUserProfileByName.  Click Next.
    Click Next on the next two screens.
    On the final screen, uncheck the box for “Automatically retrieve data when form is opened”. This is because we are going to retrieve the data when the button is clicked, also for performance reasons.
    Now we need to wire up the actions on our button to populate the fields with the information for the user in the people picker control.
    Tell the form to read the user from the people picker control
    Click the Home tab on the ribbon.
    Click the button control we created, and under the Rules section of the ribbon, click Manage Rules. Notice the pane appear on the far right.
    In the Rules pane, click New –> Action. Change the name to something like “Query and load user data”.
    Leave the condition to default (none – rule runs when button is clicked).
    Click the Add button next to “Run these actions:”, and choose “Set a field’s value”.
    For Field, click the button on the right to load the select a field dialog.  Click the Show advanced view on the bottom.  At the top, click the drop down and choose the GetUserProfileByName
    (Secondary) option.  Expand myFields and queryFields to the last option and highlightAccountName.  Click ok.
    For Value, click the formula icon. On the formula screen, click the Insert Field or Group button. Again click the show advanced view link, but this time leave the data
    connection as Main. Expand dataFields, then mySharePointListItem_RW.  At the bottom you should see a folder called group (the people picker control we just added to the form).  Expand this, then pc:Person,
    and highlightAccountId.  Click Ok twice to get back to the Rules pane.
    If we didn’t do this and just queried the user profile service, it would load the data of the currently logged in user.  So we need to tell the form what user to load the data for.  We take the AccountID field from the people
    picker control and inject into the AccountName query field of the User Profile Service data connection.
    Load the user profile service information for the chosen user
    Click the Add button next to “Run these actions:”, and choose Query for data.
    In the popup, for Data connection, click the one we created earlier – GetUserProfileByName and clickOk.
    We’re closing in on our goal.  Let’s see our progress.  We should see something like this:
    Now that we have the user’s data read into the form, we can populate the fields in the contact form.  The number of steps to complete will depend on how many fields you want to populate.  We need to add an action step for
    each field.  I’ll show you one example and then you will just repeat the steps for the other fields.  Let’s update the Job Title field.
    Populate the contact form fields with existing user’s data
    Click the Add button next to “Run these actions:”, and choose “Set a field’s value”.
    For Field, click the button on the right to load the select a field dialog.  Highlight the field Job Title.
    For Value, click the formula icon. On the formula screen, click the Insert Field or Group button.  Click the Show advanced view on the bottom. At the top, click the
    drop down and choose theGetUserProfileByName (Secondary) option.  Expand the fields all the way down until you see the Value field.  Highlight it but don’t click ok, but click the Filter
    Data button, then Add.
    For the first dropdown that says Value, choose Select a field or group.   The value field will be highlighted, but click the field Name field
    under PropertyData.  Click Ok.
    In the blank field after “is equal to”, click in the box and choose Type text.  Then type the text Title.
    Click ok until you get back to the Manage Rules pane.  The last previous screen will look like this.
    We’re going to update common fields that are in the user’s profile, and likely from Active Directory.  You can update fields like first and last name, company, mobile and work phone number, etc.  For the other fields, the
    steps are the same except the Field you choose to update from the form, and the very last step where you enter the text will change.  Here’s what the rules look like when we’re done:
    We’re all done, good work!  You can preview the form and try it now.  Click Ctrl+Shift+B to preview the form.  Once you’re satisfied, you can publish the form back to the library.  Click File –> Quick

  • How to deploy Servlet Application in Weblogic 8.1

    Hi,
    I am new to BEA Weblogic 8.1 .
    I was trying to create a sample application using InelliJ IDea 5.1 , and IntelliJIdea 10.5 . i configured weblogic with IDE , but now i do not know how to deploy my application in weblogic .
    I am new in IntelliJ also .
    So Can anyone tell me how can i deploy a servlet application in any IDE like i also have eclipse indigo.
    Thanks & Regards
    Komi

    Hi Komi
    Basically you deploy your Servlet as a WAR File. I am not familiar with IntellJ IDE. But it should have a provision to export/create a WAR file that has your Servlet. Also I hope you already have web.xml file with 2 sections like this: First you mention full package of your servlet and give it a name. Then enter a mapping url. You will use this url to run your servlet like http://weblogichost:weblogicport/yourWebappcontextroot/myservlet
    <servlet>
         <servlet-name>MyServlet</servlet-name>
         <servlet-class>com.abd.def.MyServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
         <servlet-name>MyServlet</servlet-name>
         <url-pattern>/myservlet</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    Coming to deployment, I hope you already created a Weblogic Domain and have admin username/password. Start your domain. Login into weblogic console like http://host:port/console and use admin username/password. Then from Deployments section, deploy the above WAR file. In Weblogic you can deploy JAR (EJBs, java files), WAR (web jsp, html, webservices, servlets) or EAR (JAR + WAR). In your case its just a WAR file.
    Refer the online docs for more details on Deployments in Weblogic.

  • How to deploy existing forms and reports on the web

    Hi Guys,
    I have 6i forms and reports within our environment, and we are running client/server architecture, by installing forms and reports runtime on each client PC's. We would like to get rid of this by deploying forms and reports on the web, without zero coding. Can any one suggest and guide me through the process with proper security mechanism enabled along with.
    Thanks in advance,
    Aji

    Thanks for the update,
    We have a develpment 10g AS environment setup made,
    1) But we are really confused how to present the forms and reports.
    We have around 250 forms and reports running on client/server architecture. All these forms/reports have been copied to a fileshare and access control is restricted by folder security.
    2) How to deploy forms - entries within formsweb.cfg with Named Configuration sections.
    3) How to deploy reports, as to were to copy the .rep files.
    getting the following error
    REP-110: Unable to open file 'Car_Readings.rep'.
    while trying
    http://kddsvr6.kddc.com:7778/reports/rwservlet?report=Car_Readings.rep&userid=username/passwd@db&desformat=htmlcss
    Thanks in advance,
    AJi
